happy to participate because I love this series with all of my heart and I decided to reread these books and today I'm gonna be starting on a number in the ashes and we have like a very fun day of things planned to do we being me and my sister right now we are just like putting our stuff together because we're gonna go out and get some breakfast and then we're gonna go to the beach and read there and just hang out and it's gonna be a really fun time so yeah I'm gonna take you guys along with me as we like go and explore for the day and try and finish reading and ember in the ashes my goal is to finish this one today and then finish a torch against the night tomorrow we'll see it might take me an extra day but that's totally fine but yeah I'm excited so let's go we made it to the beach I don't even know if you can hear me because it's kind of but we're at the beach and I'm with my sister I'm really excited it's a really nice day out today it was actually raining earlier this morning but now it's really sunny okay so I just do - chapter one especially at the beginning and now I mean for like a lot of emotional pain like I knew what I was getting into I read it before I know what happened but I'm still real sad so we're just so hello we ended up leaving the beach because it was really bright and sunny outside and I didn't have sunglasses and it hurt my eyes and then we drove home but I still wanted to go to the beach so we went back to the beach but now we're just sitting in the car because it's nicer and it's less windy and less cold but we're still right by the beach so it's nice so now we're just gonna sit here and read for a while I'm still reading a number in the ashes and I have it in this like book sleeve it has a quote from amber and the ashes on it - so I'm really on brand but yeah Nikki what are you reading I'm reading her body and other parties because I'm obsessed with Law & Order SVU okay so like the story Wow my finger was a weak low that I read her body and other parties like last week two weeks ago or something and I started reading it I knew it was like a short story collection and everything was like fine and then I got to like this one story and it was about Law & Order SVU and I and my sister have been like super into law and order like ever since we were little and Nikki especially is obsessed with SVU like she's watched it like almost every single episode I think I definitely not all of them cuz I've never watched it in order but most of them yeah she's watched like most of it she's four girls are fighting they're literally fighting there's another one there's another one oh my god there's another one Oh anyway so I started reading her body at other parties and then I got to like this chapter and it was about Law & Order SVU and it was just like the weirdest experience of my life because it's like basically Benson and Stabler fanfiction and yeah it was wild so like when I read it I texted Nikki immediately and she was at school and I was like I just read a book but that was literally Law & Order SVU fanfic and then I told her that she had to read it and I was listening to it on audiobook and then I bought the book immediately so that she could read it thanks and I bought the book immediately so that she could read it so now she's reading it because it's a lot anyway so yeah now we're just both gonna sit here and read and have a good time so I'll check the meter I forgot how sad this book is okay that's why I liked it so much hi hello so it is actually the next day I didn't update you guys on the vlog yesterday just because I got really tired in the afternoon and I just didn't feel like filming anymore but I did actually read some more of a number in the ashes and on like page 187 and I have made a decent amount of progress I'm a bit less than halfway through so I'll definitely be able to finish this today and I think I can also finish a torch against the night today I know that that one's also really long but I flew through that book the first time I read it and I definitely think I can do that again but yeah sorry yesterday's vlog footage was like very all over the place and very random and sporadic we just like wanted to go out and do something fun and it was fun but I just like didn't feel like vlogging too much yesterday so hopefully today is a lot better with the vlog but yeah anyway so today's plan is basically just to read and read and read I actually have like a lot of stuff I need to do today because I am prepping to go to New York I actually leave for Colorado first on Saturday which is two days from now and after that I'm going straight to New York for BA and book con so yeah I have like a lot of stuff I need to do beforehand I have this video that I need to finish filming and I have a bunch of other videos that I need to edit and other ones I need to film losing my voice emails I need to send Instagram pictures I need to take just like a lot of like little things that all add up when you don't do them for awhile and procrastinate like I do and I think I'll be able to finish all of it today and finish reading both of these books because I got a lot of the stuff done last night - actually I just did like the smaller things so now it's just little bits and pieces that I have to finish up and then also finish reading these books so that's the plan for the day to finish reading and finish all of my little tasks so I can be prepared to go to New York comfortably with less anxiety but yeah right now um it's like early in the morning I don't know what time it is I think it's like 9:00 yeah so I did a 910 in the morning and I have like a million emails that I need to respond to yeah I just got up like an hour-ish ago I woke up at 8 but I was super sleepy so yeah I'm just gonna sit down now and get some reading done until I decide to start doing something else because I have like the motivation to read right now and I'm super into the story again I honestly like okay hold on a sec okay I'm setting you guys down so that I can talk more easily because it's a lot easier than just holding the camera for a long time but like I was saying I've made more progress in my reread of an ember in the ashes and honestly I forgot how much I actually loved this book like I always talked about how much I loved it and how good it was and I haven't read it since like maybe I want to say like six months ago or something like that it hasn't been that long but it's been like a decent amount of time to the point where I've forgotten like little things here and there I knew I loved it the first time I read it I absolutely do love the series but I forgot like how much I actually liked it this was the first book I read in a very long time they got me like super hooked on its characters almost instantly and that doesn't happen for me that often like I know I talked about how I like character based books and characters are my favorite part of stories which is all completely true but it's actually very rare for me to find characters that I just deeply deeply love and just like attach to in the way that I did when I first read an ember in the ashes and now I'm rereading it and I like I forgot how much I loved laia and how much I loved Elias like they're precious to me but yeah I guess like I just had had some time away from it I've read so many books since I first read this and I didn't remember how much I actually enjoyed it and I'm having such a good time rereading it oh yeah and I didn't mention this yesterday either because I was kind of rushing out the door but I will leave all of the info for the reread campaign from penguin teen in the description box as well as their info for the Facebook live they're made some progress and let you know some more of my thoughts and where my head is at because I have so many feelings about this book okay so I just got to one of my like favorite parts of the entire book because it's where Elias and liya like first meet basically like their first real interaction and it warms my heart I turned my bookshelf lights on because they weren't on and they always make me happy when they're on it's so pretty okay so I just realized that there is like a scene in here that foreshadow is something that happens in the second book and I never caught that the first time around this isn't a spoiler at all if you haven't read either of the books or if you've only read the first book but they mentioned like someone called the night bringer in book one and then like we hear more about the night bringer in book two and I didn't even remember that it was mentioned in book 1 so yeah wow this is why I love rereading alright so I've read about another hundred pages or so and I think that's a decent amount to take a little bit of a break so I'm gonna go and get some water because I haven't had anything to drink yet this morning and I'm real thirsty um and then I will probably continue reading in a little bit so I will update you guys once I decide what I'm gonna do maybe I'll take some of my Instagram pictures that I really need to take while the Sun is still up so I don't put that off so maybe I'll do that and then I will come back and continue reading okay update I'm back in my room I just feel like everybody loves her like so much and I'm one of the few people who just really just does not like her I can't stand her she pisses me off I think she's a horrible person and I don't understand the appeal of howleen I understand that she was raised to believe that slaves are slaves and she's superior to this other whole race of people because that's like the society she grew up in their oppressors like that's who they are but like that's not a justification for still believing that slavery is okay also especially when you have like Elias to contrast to her when he was raised exactly the same way as she was but he doesn't believe any of those things so yeah that's just like my gripe with howleen I just can't stand her she makes me so upset and rereading this is just reminding me why I don't like her so much and I feel like a lot of people like to say that liya is like weak and she doesn't do anything and she's kind of just like not a very strong character but I completely disagree I feel like if I were put into this situation and my brother was kidnapped and I posed as a slave to try and like find out more information about how to get him back like that's amazing I don't even think I would be able to pose as a slave like that itself is a lot of strength and she doubts herself a lot she has a lot of insecurities and I find it so relatable she's one of my favorite main female protagonists in any book I've ever read just because of like how relatable she is and how she doesn't have to be like a cold heartless badass killer to be strong and amazing I think she is strong and amazing because she has weaknesses because she has flaws and I love her so yeah I don't know I just feel like liya doesn't get the appreciation that she deserves and I feel like Helene gets so much more of the attention and I feel like she doesn't deserve it but maybe I'm biased I don't know and like the other thing about Helene that just really bothers me is that she never does the right thing because like it's the right thing to do she only does it because she likes Elias and she wants to make Elias like her more which infuriates me because that's such a selfish reason to do the right thing you're not doing it because it's the right thing you're doing it because it's self-serving and that's why I can't stand her anyway that's it for my ranch I'm gonna go back to reading now because I am at the scene at the festival in the first book which if you read the book you know what scene I'm talking about and it's like one of my favorite parts of the entire book because so much Elias and laia and I live for it hello update so my camera actually died and I just sat here and read for a little while longer while it was waiting for it to charge so I've made some progress but I also wanted to let you guys know that I decided that I kind of wanted to annotate my book this time as I was reading because I have three copies of a number in the ashes and I thought since I have multiple copies I may as well just like annotate one because I like annotating books when I have multiple copies so I have been doing that on a few of the pages as you can see here I've underlined some stuff and wrote some stuff down um and yeah I'm having a really good time with it like I said I really do like annotating books I don't do it very often I do it when I have multiple copies of a book and I really like the book so that's what I'm doing here and it's been really really entertaining but since my camera died I didn't get to update you guys on like how much I've read and all my thoughts on what I've read so far but I am currently on page 334 and that means I only have until how many pages is this book four hundred and forty six pages so I basically only have like a hundred pages left which I'm gonna finish like fairly quickly but just an update on some of my thoughts on everything that's happened so far again I am just remembering how much I enjoy this series and as I'm reading at this time I'm kind of thinking that like this might be my favorite series like I I don't know I can't say that for sure because I would have to reread like all of the ones that are on my favorites list but I love it so much I know I keep saying that throughout this video but like I love these characters and I care so much about everything that they do and everything that happens to them which again it's like not something that happens to me very often I barely remember some character's names after I finish reading a book one cuz I'm just terrible at remembering names and two because like I read so much that I forget about characters often but with this series like I don't forget and I've actually remembered the majority of everything that happens in the book too even though I read it a little while ago so yeah I don't know it's just this is the first book I've reread in a really long time and it's been really really nice having this experience of rereading it and just reminding myself of how much I love one rereading and to this series so yeah this is definitely making me want to reread some of my other favorite series as well so I think that might be something that I started doing here on my channel and maybe I'll just like vlog myself rereading some of my favorite books because I think it would be really really fun for me at least I don't know if that's just self-indulgent if you guys care at all but I really want to do it so I probably will but yeah anyway in the book so far we've gotten to a very heated point one of the most heated points of the book actually and I obviously know everything that's going to happen this time around so I'm not gonna be like surprised and shocked by any of the plot twists that come but I am still very anxious getting to them because I know what happens and yet still I like fear for these characters because I love them but yeah so I'm actually just gonna go back to reading and probably finish up these last 100 pages really quickly because I want to and I want to get on to a torch against the night because I love that one just as much so that's what I'm gonna do right now oh I also took some Instagram pictures in between what my camera died and when I was reading so I have some pictures actually of a torch against the night and an ember in the ashes now that I'm gonna post on Instagram probably right now actually but yeah anyway so I'm gonna go and do that and then finish up the end of this book and then I will update you guys once I do that let you know all of my thoughts on my reread and then get into a torch against the night right after that so I'll see you soon hello so I finished a number at the ashes final thoughts after rereading this again to reiterate myself for the thousandth time I love this book it has everything I like in a story extremely wonderful characters that you fall completely in love with it's really high intensity sometimes and it can get like very action-packed which is not something I usually like prefer or what I reach for most often but I really love that about it because it's something different from what I'm used to reading so I really appreciate that I love all of the social issues that it comments on I love how it tackles a world where there's slavery and they talk about that a lot and it's just wonderful so I'm so happy that I reread this but now I have to move on to a torch against the night which I love just as much honestly I feel like this brie Reed will help me decide which one I actually like more but to be honest I think I like both of them pretty much equally I feel like I've heard more people say that they don't like a torch against the night as much as they like an ember in the ashes and I've heard some people say that they stopped reading after torch against the night because they just didn't like it which I just do not understand because honestly torch just made everything so much better and so much more intense so yeah I'm really really excited to start reading that one but right now I got myself some food so I'm gonna sit and eat that for a bit and then I will start reading some more of torch and yeah just have a good time this is like a super chill vlog I'm literally doing nothing today as you saw I went out yesterday for a bit but today it's just a chill home day so yeah that's all I'm gonna be doing so I'm gonna eat my spaghetti which I have right there and then I'm going to start reading torch and then maybe later on I will I don't know do something that's more entertaining who knows every time I film a vlog I'm always like oh I don't have enough content or I'm not doing anything today this is not gonna be that interesting and honestly it's like usually not that interesting but I end up with like three hours of footage so we're gonna try and not do that this time but that's probably not gonna happen but anyway I'm rambling enough so I'm gonna go and eat my food and then start reading and I'll check in with you guys in a bit hello update time so I finished eating all my food and then I took a bit of a break I took some more Instagram pictures that I had to take for some posts and then I also finished reading more of a torch against the night and I am currently on page 207 it's always really hard to do this with one hand but I'm completely enjoying my reread of this one as well I read torch for the first time back and I think like January so it hasn't been too long since I read it for the first time but nonetheless I'm still really really enjoying it again this time I have already read a decent amount I read like 300 400 pages already today something like that and I also have done like the majority of my work basically all I have left is like editing a video which I'm gonna wait until later tonight after I finished this book and then just like some emails but it's like not too much so I think I'm just gonna focus the rest of this time the rest of this day while I still have daylight to finishing this book and just talking to you all about it yeah so I'm just gonna dive back in and try and get as much reading as I possibly can done can I just say that I hate Keenan I hated him in book 1 I hate him in book 2 I'm definitely gonna hate him in book 3 and I don't understand how anyone could like him random little side note as I just remembered while I was reading a lot of this book specifically reminds me of the boiling rock part 1 & 2 episode of Avatar The Last Airbender because of like everything that happens with like the warden and like the prison and I'm not gonna go into more specifics cuz if you'd read it you know what I'm talking about but it reminds me so much of those two episodes of Avatar and I loved it but I also hate it because I'm sad and the characters are suffering but it's great but like actually though I'm devastated because these characters go through so much and they suffered through so much and I love them and I hate to see them in pain but that's all we get I love suffering they should just rename the book let's see how much we can torture Elias and get away with it because honestly that's all it is I finished rereading torch I read this so quickly honestly I think it only took me like three hours total honestly though this is just making me so much more hyped for rebirth the gates because like I need it right now both of the books end on incredible cliff hangers that just kill you but I didn't have to wait that long between an ember in the ashes and a torch against the night because this one was already out but this time I've had to wait a little while for Reaper at the gates and I don't want to know what the wait like after every purr at the gates it's going to be because that that book is inevitably going to have the worst cliffhanger of all of them like I just know it so I'm not prepared I think what I've ultimately realized doing this reread is that I am not at all prepared for what's to come and I don't know what I'm gonna do on June 12th when it comes out because I'm just gonna have to sit there and read it all day long and then probably reread it immediately and then wait like another year for the last book to come out oh I don't want to do that but I seriously love this one so much too I think this time around I've decided that I do like an ember in the ashes more than torch but I still love them like basically equally I think one of my favorite things about this series overall is just how like well developed the world building is and the entire like plot and the characters are all just like intricately woven into one another and nothing feels like separate it feels like these characters belong in this world and it feels like the world belongs to these characters if that makes any sense like everything feels like it was put together perfectly and it makes it feel like it's a completely well crafted and well thought-out book which is what I appreciate so much in fantasy all of my favorite fantasies definitely do that but I've read so much fantasy that I've noticed this in some of them where they don't actually do it very much but all of my favorite ones know how to put together a good world and create incredible characters so yeah I am just so happy that I reread these it really put me in a good mood because I was kind of in a reading slump a little bit this past like week or two because I just wasn't motivated to read anything and I just read like a lot of books but having reread both of these today has really put me back into a fantasy mood especially and now I just want to pick up like so many more books and I just I'm so grateful to them for that so if you're looking for some like reading slump of books I highly recommend trying this series cuz it's like so fast-paced you like fly through it and it's just wonderful so yeah highly recommend it's a good time but yeah there you all have it that is basically it for by rereading vlog I know I pretty much like didn't leave my room today which probably isn't good but I left my house yesterday which was fine and today was just like a really chill day cuz I've been like super super busy for the past few weeks and it's been nice to just like sit at home curl off in my room with my blanket and just have a good time reading and I really needed this I am very very happy and content with my day it was a wonderful relaxing happy day we reading two of my favorite books and just spending some time with myself and some of my favorite characters so yeah I highly recommend that if you're not having the best of days if you're going through like a rough time right now try and just like sit down and reread one of your favorite books and just take a day to yourself don't do anything else just take some time for you spend some time with some of your favorite characters in one of your favorite worlds and I promise it will do wonders for your mental health I'm just gonna end the vlog here I know that bookshelf lights on because they weren't on and they always make me happy when they're on it's so pretty okay so I just realized that there is like a scene in here that foreshadow is something that happens in the second book and I never caught that the first time around this isn't a spoiler at all if you haven't read either of the books or if you've only read the first book but they mentioned like someone called the night bringer in book one and then like we hear more about the night bringer in book two and I didn't even remember that it was mentioned in book 1 so yeah wow this is why I love rereading alright so I've read about another hundred pages or so and I think that's a decent amount to take a little bit of a break so I'm gonna go and get some water because I haven't had anything to drink yet this morning and I'm real thirsty um and then I will probably continue reading in a little bit so I will update you guys once I decide what I'm gonna do maybe I'll take some of my Instagram pictures that I really need to take while the Sun is still up so I don't put that off so maybe I'll do that and then I will come back and continue reading okay update I'm back in my room I just feel like everybody loves her like so much and I'm one of the few people who just really just does not like her I can't stand her she pisses me off I think she's a horrible person and I don't understand the appeal of howleen I understand that she was raised to believe that slaves are slaves and she's superior to this other whole race of people because that's like the society she grew up in their oppressors like that's who they are but like that's not a justification for still believing that slavery is okay also especially when you have like Elias to contrast to her when he was raised exactly the same way as she was but he doesn't believe any of those things so yeah that's just like my gripe with howleen I just can't stand her she makes me so upset and rereading this is just reminding me why I don't like her so much and I feel like a lot of people like to say that liya is like weak and she doesn't do anything and she's kind of just like not a very strong character but I completely disagree I feel like if I were put into this situation and my brother was kidnapped and I posed as a slave to try and like find out more information about how to get him back like that's amazing I don't even think I would be able to pose as a slave like that itself is a lot of strength and she doubts herself a lot she has a lot of insecurities and I find it so relatable she's one of my favorite main female protagonists in any book I've ever read just because of like how relatable she is and how she doesn't have to be like a cold heartless badass killer to be strong and amazing I think she is strong and amazing because she has weaknesses because she has flaws and I love her so yeah I don't know I just feel like liya doesn't get the appreciation that she deserves and I feel like Helene gets so much more of the attention and I feel like she doesn't deserve it but maybe I'm biased I don't know and like the other thing about Helene that just really bothers me is that she never does the right thing because like it's the right thing to do she only does it because she likes Elias and she wants to make Elias like her more which infuriates me because that's such a selfish reason to do the right thing you're not doing it because it's the right thing you're doing it because it's self-serving and that's why I can't stand her anyway that's it for my ranch I'm gonna go back to reading now because I am at the scene at the festival in the first book which if you read the book you know what scene I'm talking about and it's like one of my favorite parts of the entire book because so much Elias and laia and I live for it hello update so my camera actually died and I just sat here and read for a little while longer while it was waiting for it to charge so I've made some progress but I also wanted to let you guys know that I decided that I kind of wanted to annotate my book this time as I was reading because I have three copies of a number in the ashes and I thought since I have multiple copies I may as well just like annotate one because I like annotating books when I have multiple copies so I have been doing that on a few of the pages as you can see here I've underlined some stuff and wrote some stuff down um and yeah I'm having a really good time with it like I said I really do like annotating books I don't do it very often I do it when I have multiple copies of a book and I really like the book so that's what I'm doing here and it's been really really entertaining but since my camera died I didn't get to update you guys on like how much I've read and all my thoughts on what I've read so far but I am currently on page 334 and that means I only have until how many pages is this book four hundred and forty six pages so I basically only have like a hundred pages left which I'm gonna finish like fairly quickly but just an update on some of my thoughts on everything that's happened so far again I am just remembering how much I enjoy this series and as I'm reading at this time I'm kind of thinking that like this might be my favorite series like I I don't know I can't say that for sure because I would have to reread like all of the ones that are on my favorites list but I love it so much I know I keep saying that throughout this video but like I love these characters and I care so much about everything that they do and everything that happens to them which again it's like not something that happens to me very often I barely remember some character's names after I finish reading a book one cuz I'm just terrible at remembering names and two because like I read so much that I forget about characters often but with this series like I don't forget and I've actually remembered the majority of everything that happens in the book too even though I read it a little while ago so yeah I don't know it's just this is the first book I've reread in a really long time and it's been really really nice having this experience of rereading it and just reminding myself of how much I love one rereading and to this series so yeah this is definitely making me want to reread some of my other favorite series as well so I think that might be something that I started doing here on my channel and maybe I'll just like vlog myself rereading some of my favorite books because I think it would be really really fun for me at least I don't know if that's just self-indulgent if you guys care at all but I really want to do it so I probably will but yeah anyway in the book so far we've gotten to a very heated point one of the most heated points of the book actually and I obviously know everything that's going to happen this time around so I'm not gonna be like surprised and shocked by any of the plot twists that come but I am still very anxious getting to them because I know what happens and yet still I like fear for these characters because I love them but yeah so I'm actually just gonna go back to reading and probably finish up these last 100 pages really quickly because I want to and I want to get on to a torch against the night because I love that one just as much so that's what I'm gonna do right now oh I also took some Instagram pictures in between what my camera died and when I was reading so I have some pictures actually of a torch against the night and an ember in the ashes now that I'm gonna post on Instagram probably right now actually but yeah anyway so I'm gonna go and do that and then finish up the end of this book and then I will update you guys once I do that let you know all of my thoughts on my reread and then get into a torch against the night right after that so I'll see you soon hello so I finished a number at the ashes final thoughts after rereading this again to reiterate myself for the thousandth time I love this book it has everything I like in a story extremely wonderful characters that you fall completely in love with it's really high intensity sometimes and it can get like very action-packed which is not something I usually like prefer or what I reach for most often but I really love that about it because it's something different from what I'm used to reading so I really appreciate that I love all of the social issues that it comments on I love how it tackles a world where there's slavery and they talk about that a lot and it's just wonderful so I'm so happy that I reread this but now I have to move on to a torch against the night which I love just as much honestly I feel like this brie Reed will help me decide which one I actually like more but to be honest I think I like both of them pretty much equally I feel like I've heard more people say that they don't like a torch against the night as much as they like an ember in the ashes and I've heard some people say that they stopped reading after torch against the night because they just didn't like it which I just do not understand because honestly torch just made everything so much better and so much more intense so yeah I'm really really excited to start reading that one but right now I got myself some food so I'm gonna sit and eat that for a bit and then I will start reading some more of torch and yeah just have a good time this is like a super chill vlog I'm literally doing nothing today as you saw I went out yesterday for a bit but today it's just a chill home day so yeah that's all I'm gonna be doing so I'm gonna eat my spaghetti which I have right there and then I'm going to start reading torch and then maybe later on I will I don't know do something that's more entertaining who knows every time I film a vlog I'm always like oh I don't have enough content or I'm not doing anything today this is not gonna be that interesting and honestly it's like usually not that interesting but I end up with like three hours of footage so we're gonna try and not do that this time but that's probably not gonna happen but anyway I'm rambling enough so I'm gonna go and eat my food and then start reading and I'll check in with you guys in a bit hello update time so I finished eating all my food and then I took a bit of a break I took some more Instagram pictures that I had to take for some posts and then I also finished reading more of a torch against the night and I am currently on page 207 it's always really hard to do this with one hand but I'm completely enjoying my reread of this one as well I read torch for the first time back and I think like January so it hasn't been too long since I read it for the first time but nonetheless I'm still really really enjoying it again this time I have already read a decent amount I read like 300 400 pages already today something like that and I also have done like the majority of my work basically all I have left is like editing a video which I'm gonna wait until later tonight after I finished this book and then just like some emails but it's like not too much so I think I'm just gonna focus the rest of this time the rest of this day while I still have daylight to finishing this book and just talking to you all about it yeah so I'm just gonna dive back in and try and get as much reading as I possibly can done can I just say that I hate Keenan I hated him in book 1 I hate him in book 2 I'm definitely gonna hate him in book 3 and I don't understand how anyone could like him random little side note as I just remembered while I was reading a lot of this book specifically reminds me of the boiling rock part 1 & 2 episode of Avatar The Last Airbender because of like everything that happens with like the warden and like the prison and I'm not gonna go into more specifics cuz if you'd read it you know what I'm talking about but it reminds me so much of those two episodes of Avatar and I loved it but I also hate it because I'm sad and the characters are suffering but it's great but like actually though I'm devastated because these characters go through so much and they suffered through so much and I love them and I hate to see them in pain but that's all we get I love suffering they should just rename the book let's see how much we can torture Elias and get away with it because honestly that's all it is I finished rereading torch I read this so quickly honestly I think it only took me like three hours total honestly though this is just making me so much more hyped for rebirth the gates because like I need it right now both of the books end on incredible cliff hangers that just kill you but I didn't have to wait that long between an ember in the ashes and a torch against the night because this one was already out but this time I've had to wait a little while for Reaper at the gates and I don't want to know what the wait like after every purr at the gates it's going to be because that that book is inevitably going to have the worst cliffhanger of all of them like I just know it so I'm not prepared I think what I've ultimately realized doing this reread is that I am not at all prepared for what's to come and I don't know what I'm gonna do on June 12th when it comes out because I'm just gonna have to sit there and read it all day long and then probably reread it immediately and then wait like another year for the last book to come out oh I don't want to do that but I seriously love this one so much too I think this time around I've decided that I do like an ember in the ashes more than torch but I still love them like basically equally I think one of my favorite things about this series overall is just how like well developed the world building is and the entire like plot and the characters are all just like intricately woven into one another and nothing feels like separate it feels like these characters belong in this world and it feels like the world belongs to these characters if that makes any sense like everything feels like it was put together perfectly and it makes it feel like it's a completely well crafted and well thought-out book which is what I appreciate so much in fantasy all of my favorite fantasies definitely do that but I've read so much fantasy that I've noticed this in some of them where they don't actually do it very much but all of my favorite ones know how to put together a good world and create incredible characters so yeah I am just so happy that I reread these it really put me in a good mood because I was kind of in a reading slump a little bit this past like week or two because I just wasn't motivated to read anything and I just read like a lot of books but having reread both of these today has really put me back into a fantasy mood especially and now I just want to pick up like so many more books and I just I'm so grateful to them for that so if you're looking for some like reading slump of books I highly recommend trying this series cuz it's like so fast-paced you like fly through it and it's just wonderful so yeah highly recommend it's a good time but yeah there you all have it that is basically it for by rereading vlog I know I pretty much like didn't leave my room today which probably isn't good but I left my house yesterday which was fine and today was just like a really chill day cuz I've been like super super busy for the past few weeks and it's been nice to just like sit at home curl off in my room with my blanket and just have a good time reading and I really needed this I am very very happy and content with my day it was a wonderful relaxing happy day we reading two of my favorite books and just spending some time with myself and some of my favorite characters so yeah I highly recommend that if you're not having the best of days if you're going through like a rough time right now try and just like sit down and reread one of your favorite books and just take a day to yourself don't do anything else just take some time for you spend some time with some of your favorite characters in one of your favorite worlds and I promise it will do wonders for your mental health I'm just gonna end the vlog here I know that again I didn't do much of anything but I'm hoping that it was at least somewhat fun for some of you to watch I hope that some of you enjoyed reading or rereading the amber the Asha series with me as well because I know a lot of you said that you were planning on reading them or we're reading them too and a lot of you messaged me and stuff and said that you did and you really enjoyed them which makes me really happy I just love sharing my favorite series with people and when more people read it it makes me excited because then we can
