BookNet Fest Tag (created by Kathy Trithardt) _ 2019
**Sam’s Book Net Fest 2019 Tag: A Fun and Heartfelt Video Recap**
Hey guys! It’s Sam, and I’m here to talk about the **Book Net Fest 2019 tag**, which was created by Kathy, one of the biggest supporters of Book Net Fest. Kathy is amazing because she supports my infant (who will soon be a toddler), so if you’re not following her yet, I highly recommend checking out her channel below. If you’re planning to attend Book Net Fest or want to watch people who are attending this year, make sure to check out the tag and all the content Kathy has been sharing. This isn’t an official partnership with Book Net Fest, but it’s all about spreading love for the event. And trust me, I love it too!

### **1. Introduce Yourself**
Hi! I’m Sam from *Thoughts on Tomes*. I’m one of the co-creators of Book Net Fest, and while I don’t want to talk too much about myself, this tag is perfect for introducing yourself to others—especially if you’re attending the event and don’t know anyone yet. So go ahead and tell me who you are in the comments below, and introduce yourself to other people doing the tag!

### **2. Where Are You Traveling From/How Are You Getting to Orlando This Year?**
I’m coming from Delaware! Hopefully, this will be my last year flying from Delaware because by next year, I might have moved elsewhere. That’s actually another reason why I’m doing this tag—because next year, I might have a different answer! For now, I’ll be flying Southwest Airlines forever because they don’t charge baggage fees. It’s such a win-win!

### **3. What Platforms Do You Express Your Love of Books On?**
I express my love for books on YouTube, Twitter, and Instagram—obviously. But I also use Tumblr, which a lot of people have forgotten about! I’m basically a Tumblr trashcan, reblogging all the book-related content and crying over it. If you don’t follow me on these platforms yet, make sure to check out my links below.

### **4. Are You Reading/Have You Read or Do You Plan on Reading the Book Net Fest Book Club Books?**
We have two book club books this year, and I’ll link information about them down below. For anyone who couldn’t attend the event, there will be a “read after” the event so you can still participate in the community aspect of it. Now, to answer the question: I’m not reading one of the thriller books because… well, I don’t like thrillers! But I am reading the other one this month—it’s called *Midsummer’s Mayhem* by Raja de la Roca, and it’s so cute. It’s one of my noot (not-optional) books for this month!

### **5. What Are You Most Looking Forward to at Book Net Fest This Year?**
Oh, there are *so many things*! I’m really excited about meeting everyone because that’s the best part. Please come say hi if you see me—I mean it! Even though I might be tired at some points, this year we’ve spread out more so I won’t be running around nonstop like in year one. So if you spot me just hanging out, don’t hesitate to approach. Also, I’m planning to get there early and stay late, doing fun things like the Food & Wine Festival, an unofficial Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party with Book Net Fest people, and the prom! Speaking of prom, I’m in charge of planning it this year. It’s going to be amazing—there will be book-themed drinks, decorations, a photobooth, and so much more. Oh, and I’ve been working on the playlist for months! Last night, I asked Book Net Fest Twitter for song recommendations reminiscent of their proms, and Spotify added even *more* songs that fit the vibe. Let me play you a sample of what might be playing at the prom…

### **6. Have You Attended Any Other Bookish Events That You’d Recommend?**
My second-favorite book event is **Y’all Fest** because it’s so chill and held in a nice outdoor area. It’s not as crazy with ARC drops, which I appreciate. I’m not opposed to attending events like En Vogue Con, but they’re not my favorite. I’d love to try out smaller regional events too, like the No Bater Book Festival or the Boston TIFU festival. Even signings with authors are nice if you’re lucky enough to have them near you—which I never am, by the way.

### **7. What Book Are You Planning to Read That Weekend?**
Honestly, I don’t know if I’ll get any reading done because this is one of the few times of year I get to see most of my friends. But I’ll probably read on the plane—either audiobooks or physical copies. Maybe I’ll start some fall reads, like *The Ninth House* by Naomi V Ultra. It’s a toss-up whether I’ll have time for it, but we’ll see!

### **8. Do You Have Any Internet Book Friends That You’re Excited About Seeing or Meeting for the First Time?**
I have so many people I’m excited to see! My friend group that always attends events together is amazing, and I can’t wait to catch up with them all. I’m also really pumped to meet Raja Jefferies because I feel like we’ll be best friends immediately. The speaker lineup this year is incredible, and I just want to meet everyone. It’s one of those events where you can actually meet all the creators, which is so special. Plus, there are people saying they’re coming last minute—so many surprises! I don’t want to name too many names because I might forget someone, but trust me—I want to meet *you* if you’re attending!

### **Conclusion**
I’m super hyped that Book Net Fest has created so much love in the community that people are now creating their own tags like this one. There’s also an “after” tag for those who couldn’t attend, which I might participate in as well. If you’re not attending by the way, there’s going to be a **Book Net Fest FOMO Read-a-Thon** hosted by Sarah Jane from *The Book Life*. She’ll announce all the details on Twitter, so make sure to follow her if you’re not already.
If you’re feeling sad because you can’t attend, don’t worry—you can participate in the FOMO read-a-thon, which will be a long weekend of reading and community. Comment below to let me know if you’re attending or any other thoughts you have about Book Net Fest!
Thank you all for watching! I’ll see you guys soon.
Bye!
