FWD DRIFTING @ Rally Ready

The Art of Drifting and Rally Racing: A Fun-Filled Day with Friends

As we set out on our adventure, I couldn't help but feel a mix of excitement and nervousness. We were about to embark on a thrilling day of drifting and rally racing, and I wasn't sure what to expect. Our host, Aaron, had promised an epic experience, and I was eager to see if he would deliver.

Forget the nerves, we're going to have fun! That's what I kept telling myself as we prepared for our driving adventure. We were about to get behind the wheel of a powerful car and push it to its limits. The sound system was blasting, and the atmosphere was electric. Our first challenge was learning how to steer with the brakes, which would allow us to go out in this Civic and control its movements by pressing the brakes and transferring load to the front.

Learning to drift wasn't easy, but with some guidance from Aaron, we soon got the hang of it. We started with the basics – holding the steering wheel at a certain point and controlling how the car went around the circle by pressing the brakes and sliding the rear end. It was surprisingly tricky, but also incredibly exhilarating. As we progressed, Aaron encouraged us to push ourselves and try new things. He reminded us that the key to drifting was to stay calm and focused.

The next challenge was even more daunting – learning how to brake and turn at high speeds. We were told to put the car in second gear and then release the clutch while accelerating. The idea was to take a sharp turn, add some break time, and then push through it. It wasn't easy, but with practice, we soon got the hang of it. As we mastered the basics, Aaron encouraged us to try more advanced techniques, like drifting without leaving the track.

One of the most surprising aspects of drifting was how quiet it felt. We were sliding around in a car that normally would have been screaming in protest, and yet it was eerily silent. It was as if the car had surrendered itself to our will, responding to every subtle movement of the steering wheel and pedal. I couldn't believe how smooth and effortless it all felt.

Of course, there were moments when things didn't quite go according to plan. My foot slipped off the clutch a little too soon, causing us to stall on the track. But that's all part of the learning process, right? Aaron reassured me that everyone makes mistakes, even experienced drivers. The key was to stay calm and try again.

As we progressed through the day, I began to realize just how much technique and practice went into drifting. It wasn't something you could learn overnight – it took patience, dedication, and a willingness to take risks. But the rewards were well worth it. There's nothing quite like the feeling of flying down a track, your senses heightened as you push your car to its limits.

As we wrapped up our driving adventure for the day, I couldn't help but feel grateful for Aaron's expertise and guidance. He had shown us that drifting wasn't just about speed – it was about finesse, control, and a deep connection with the car. We may not have been pros yet, but we'd had an absolute blast trying.

Of course, there's still more to learn. Tomorrow, we're off to Harris Hill Raceway for some high-speed racing and even more drifting action. Bring it on!

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enmy name is Adam LZ my name is Tony and we are inside of the biggest gas station I've ever seen about to go drive rally cars I think this here's other rally car gas station no this is way cooler than the rally cars are going to be this is wild we heard you like ice cream machine so we got you an icy machine for your icy machines icy machine how they're able to afford to keep so much in stock at a massive store like this Jordan Allison excuse $6 gummies is how they're able to pull this off this bag of gummies a $6 wine it never ends placing called Bucky's by the way there's so many coffees I can't even make a decision these aisles are just set up so nice and just when you thought they had everything Trevor they have penny boards with astroturf on them volleyball and everything you could possibly imagine fishing where slim where you have a go pros here Taylor's considering getting a new one three not even a plus oh actually though all jokes aside the five suck don't get it no can you can't plug a mic into it and the mic adapters are garbage I think what I'm most impressed about with this giant gas station is not the fact that I have such a wide selection but the fact that somehow they've managed to train their employees well enough to keep everything nice and pretty and looking in order because I mean a lot of stores open up looking like Sony with everything organized well but then five people come in and it goes to crap and no one ever cleans it up so props to you Bucky in the Reg we go oh boy that's the fun begin please great so we are at a place called rally ready really cool this just kind of came up I don't even know about it but I feel like rally racing is kind of like one of those things where it's just out of reach and no one ever get to do it but I have like a school in the middle Texas yeah it's really can actually learn how to drive like I had no idea until today that like a lot of rallies based around lawful breaking we just went through like this whole big course on kind of like what to do and all the different steps that we're coming to come to take today so I'm going to put that in now and then we're going to get on Drive so should be fun the tour is way back so yeah yeah especially with a problem with all that car is you have control of where you're putting that weight on what tire in order to get the grip out of it and everything is centered around left foot braking so less of braking is kind of the core of what we teach here and then everything kind of branches off from there where you might flush kick and counter steer a rule about a car with a lot of throttle here it's completely different you're going to turn into the turn you're going to add to lock on brake on top of throttle and you're not going to do a lot of fun isolation you're going to do a lot of great constellation and some steering input so if the technique is completely different but to see this hands feel again will be similar to that so so if you're turning in the car is not turning you need to add brakes if you need to turn more you have more bricks you don't steer in more ok to be in the steering wheel doesn't do much after about a half a turn and we don't want to all like have issues with having the same videos and people complaining that we like film the exact same stuff so the kind of idea behind is we're going to document our own experience and we all come from different backgrounds with different experience levels so that's what I'm going to try to focus on and so I'm gonna try to focus on hey because I have more driving experience than Adam so we'll see if Adam could do better than me we don't know they said they said no stop watches but we may have to bring them out because Taylor sending a little cocky right now yeah I'm gonna call you excited for your new car yeah we did how do you get out if like you you have to get out and it's on fire some things hardest you'll be a gear down break the fiberglass scared you'll be fine no you'll be fun you're not gonna die yeah yeah I'm sure and I promise it goes about to go for riding it let's go Wow forget the now you want one no oh no I would not trust myself like a horrible thing to like another human and like you need to be a guy I like the little handle yeah mmm need moment me please viral Facebook videos like in the rally art it just feels like a video game we were gone forever really yeah I think the scariest parts like tennis what jumped or other things are going off the track I like to use that one we just go it alone on the wet road where the road goes right there just graphing from a cutie you really would have a jump in the crackling right I'm a little scared about this next thing that we're doing I'm scared I'm just kidding you're fine no it looks really funny out there because we're like our helmets really necessary guys look who's driving in a circle yeah we're super boring we're suppose yeah the first thing is learning how to steer with the brake so they're going to have us go out in this Civic and kind of hold the steering wheel at a certain point but control how the car kind of goes around the circle by pressing the brakes and I guess that lets the backend slide a little bit and like transfers load to the front so you don't understand they kind of start with the basics yeah it's not like crazy but I guess you have to learn this for you can go gnarly and like a Subaru like this I promise it's way more exciting than it looks so if I kill it with this I get to take the Subaru in the woods right car I wouldn't trust myself oh my god I got so used to driving Trevor's racecar that like the clutch is so easy in them yeah alright so we're going to put it in second and then my left foot will never go back on the clutch instead you come to a stop yeah okay so about this much turning more than that but go full throttle okay all the way add break my top bacterial food is breaking in place not going to turn the wheel at all okay to pull the wheel straight you're looking way ahead a little less great try and push a little bit to the middle rack your brief david patten subtract about five percent their time okay and that's gonna be how you do lose that out still adding a lot of break time your little bus on that let's go right are we sliding I can't tell fighting it now we go get a little bumpy so rule let's break push this to the outside a bit more there you're right there that's enough yep just like that right hold that we added fact I need is to break this hold that slide either up I flew the left brake there you go you can offer this was fun you can drift the phone without cars that's way his life hahahaha the Death Eaters are coming full throttle full throttle the whole time yep whole time okay so start first immediately move my foot over to the brake Oh sighs here sorry I got nervous okay okay it's like instinct you know should I start in first again I just slowed down too much I go on the right side it's gone right they're good yeah I think I was just going a little bit too timid I didn't come to the right side right side time's up hold on right Oh okay Adam Nicole's going for a ride right now we're just friend for now for now it's still weird to slide without leaving the Hamrick it's so quiet I feel like we're in a quad right now it's so weird to be in the car yeah right yeah everything in a Subaru through the woods no big deal thank you so much for everything I'm sure I'll see you again soon like there's no depression this is Aaron Aaron I don't even know if you've been in my video yet but Aaron's the mastermind behind this whole trip so hemin BC put this together for me and Taylor to have a good time move out of the way all my stuff is
