Drag Racing in Brazil vs USA - Whats the difference

As I Arrived in Brazil: A Look Around

I'm looking around and I don't recognize any of the cars here, so we're gonna go around this for myself to see what's new. The cars are all new and I don't need much, but it looks like they have a call or a focus on golf cars that are smaller than regular golf cars. They think that these are cool and I can understand why. What's back here? Oh, there are Chevrolets - the Chevrolet Opala is what we came for - that's our muscle car. This is your muscle car, but it doesn't come with a V8 engine, no matter how hard you look.

It looks like some of these cars have inline four or five, six engines instead of V8s. Yes, they came in the first one too - there are different generations and models here. I believe this is the second generation - it's got a square shape to it, like a squished rock. There's another goal over there that looks older, but maybe it's just a facelift version. And then there's this black car that looks like it might be from the third generation - I don't know if it's that old. It's interesting how different they all look compared to cars we deal with in Japan.

We're not gonna see many V8s here, except maybe in Pro mods, which are like race cars. They come with engines like 1.4 liter or 1.6 liter - and it looks like some of these cars don't even have V8s, but they still make them go fast somehow. One car I saw had a V8 engine - the GM Mammary quiver V8 in the Dodge Dart. That's pretty much it - there aren't many cars with V8 engines here. But we do see some other types of cars that are interesting.

We're walking around the track now, and I'm seeing all these different cars that I don't recognize. There's an Opel Kadett over there - it looks like something from Europe, where they come in different shapes and sizes. This car had a one-liter engine to make it lighter and more fuel-efficient, but it doesn't have much power compared to other cars we've seen.

One thing that stands out about racing in Brazil is the way that racers name their cars - they all have little numbers on them so everyone can tell who's driving which car. It's really helpful when I introduce myself to someone and try to understand what they're saying, because if I don't recognize their name, it might be because we don't speak the same language.

As we walk around the track, I'm noticing that there are a lot of different cars here - Apollos, Beetles, pick-up trucks... it looks like every car in Brazil is represented. There's even a monster truck out on the starting line! One thing that caught my eye was all these little wooden signs and flags with numbers on them - I'm not sure what they're for yet.

One of the things that really stood out to me as we walked around the track was how many hand-made or locally-sourced parts there are in these cars. Because if you import anything from the US or China, it's a hundred percent tax here, so people have to make their own parts to avoid paying those taxes.

I also did not expect to see how many Volkswagens are on display here at this track - they were definitely a surprise! The cars here are all super cool and well-done, but there was something about the Volkswagens that really stood out. I guess when you're used to seeing cars everywhere, it's easy to take them for granted.

But one thing that really impressed me was how amazing this track is compared to some of the tracks we have in the US. It's like a different world altogether - better, more impressive, and just overall more exciting. That's definitely something I didn't expect to see here in Brazil.

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: entrying to lose so now that we're here Brazil I'm looking around and I don't recognize any of the cars here okay we're gonna go around this for myself the cars are new and I don't need much that we get that call okay so just like Brazil main focus like is that they call fold okay looks like I'm gonna CLL looks like a golf but it's smaller so they think that you remember yeah what's back here the Chevrolets that's the Chevrolet opala that's what we came for that's our muscle car that's how I came to know Brazil racing so this is your muscle car but it doesn't come with the v8 no that car comes defo either with my inline four or five six did it come with a for starters yeah they came in the first one there too there's another goal as well another go is like a older one like I believe the second gen facelift you see like square comprised of that guy over there looks like a squished rock if you like a different chance right here see the yeah the backup that one so your generation another generation this is the second generation yeah it believes a second and then the black one is like maybe third and it's a for generations interesting I don't recognize this at all Japan that last one that I deal with that's the last gen I believe like late 80s Early 90s is the newest version yes yes interesting we gotta shove it back home that does not look like that what does this come up for a motor 1.4 liter or 1.6 liter and what are we gonna see v8s in here well v8 we had the for mammary quiver v8 and Dodge Dart with a v8 that's pretty much it so only two cars came with a VA like stock and it was like white red so we're not gonna see many maids here other than the Pro mods I saw yeah so we've got another Apollo here yeah don't be like a 2nd gen Apollo meet 77 we'll be like first chin Chevette that's the Chevette yeah that's beautiful LEL reminds me of the old escorts I saw in Britain yeah like actually that car that car is called Opel Kadett and Europe and he had like several versions I believe the first general was like from the duties something like that we have another so that measure is the same right like that one came from one liter mortar like for production that car had even the glass or fingers to be lighter because it was like a few efficiency and there's no power no there's no power that was like terrible couple things I found that's interesting about racing in Brazil is back home and in Puerto Rico especially we'd love to name our cars like unicorn c5 Leroy here they have their racer number and that's all over their hats their shirts their team everything it's really helpful when I introduce myself to someone I don't always understand the name because the accents and language they have their name on on their cars for all of the racers and on their blood type mr. safety so they have an accidental sale right away after watching a bunch of racing walking through some pit since we talked last I've noticed that there's pretty much all goals yeah Apollo's there's a few exceptions right here we got a beetle I know that one that's the easy one yeah so we have the pickup truck over to go folks we can use rally and away have the two-door saloon up the go it sound like it's a goal but this was stretched version that's a first camp what's the name of this one continue our tour of Villa Park you can see here here we've got it looks like the tower thank you like a VIP section in the media in this little like Porteous in the ground of the that's actually the control tower for the track for all the boards and everything and then we have bender booths up here I love this because I'd love to have the 1320 video booth right above the starting line that would be that would be amazing none of the guys gonna be entertained as well food we've got some meat here like some skewers this stuff is amazing get churros we've got a whole bunch of different vendors or ceramic ceramic powder I've seen them on a lot of things metal horse I think they do fittings and whatnot looks like a speed shop here power base this place is actually a sit-down restaurant you can sit down order they have like a neat plate with eggs and a whole bunch of different food vendors here with like they have Philly's burgers popcorn and it keeps going we've got fruit and ice cream I guess the big question to ask is why the hell does the US get this B track food been to the UK it was like over-the-top amazing best I've ever seen they've got a freaking food court out here too we need to change things in the US I want to have food options at the track it's pretty awesome so another vehicle I've been hiring there's an SUV that's been driver during one instruction of the brand Blazer Chevrolet kind of looks like it's the Bourbon in the body but there's a surprise it's a diesel Whaley I just realized there's a monster truck out you're giving up energy drinks on the starting line oh yeah free monster Rihanna oh that is cold six eighty a partial pass one thing that's very unique about Brazil is a lot of things they're handmade a lot of these cars a lot of the parts are made here in Brazil or bought here in Brazil because if you buy anything from the US or from China or Japan it's a hundred percent import tax so something very unique about building cars and just living in Brazil so what was the what was something you didn't expect here in Brazil now I did not expect you to be sure that's or this many things but what I expected to be here at the track but the Volkswagens its events were definitely something I didn't expect no woody all these tracks incredible yeah it's better than a lot of ones in the United States which is really really impressive the ematic cars there were super heat they're so nice and well these guys took all my options but traveling internationally really gets me excited like mainly what you said everything's new and I didn't expect Brazil to be like this and everyone keeps asking us how it compared to the u.s. it's just different the people are awesome like you need drag race that we go to Australia Brazil for Rico wherever but the people really make it so Thank You Louis we'll see you guys next time\n"
