LG G7 - The 'NEO' Mystery

LG's Confusing Product Strategy: A Look at the LG G 7 Neo and More

In recent times, it seems that LG has lost its compass when it comes to naming their flagship devices. Earlier this year, the CEO of LG mobile claimed that they were going to do away with the name LG G 7 altogether and call it the LG G spot. However, after some thought, they decided that maybe it wasn't such a good idea after all. Instead, we have the introduction of the LG G 7 neo, which has left many in the tech community scratching their heads.

LG's Plans for Flagship Phones

Earlier this year, the CEO of LG mobile claimed that they were going to do away with their current flagship plans to create something new that would better distinguish themselves from their competitors. They don't want to make a phone that just looks like everyone else's. Evan Blast added to this story by saying that LG would release another flagship phone in June of 2018 codenamed Judi. So far, so good, but things take a turn for the funky when we find out about the LG G 7 neo.

The LG G 7 Neo: A Mysterious Device

Recently, LG showed up at Mobile World Congress with an LG device called the LG G 7 neo. Under the hood, this phone features the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor, up to six gigabytes of RAM, up to 128 gigabytes of storage, and a 3000 milliamp hour battery. It's presumed that the phone runs Android Oreo out of the box, but there's no official word yet on what else the G7 neo has to offer.

A Backdoor Way or a Prototype?

So, what's really going on here? Is this just a backdoor way for LG to promote their actual flagship phone, the LG G 7 seven neo? Or is it a prototype that they're never actually gonna sell and the real phone is coming in June? We don't know. It's clear as mud what's going on right now.
