on the side note there's two different versions you can get you can get the one that has the anime matrix that's all the fancy lights in the back or you can get the one without it here's the difference if you get the anime matrix that one's going to run you a little bit more money and you're going to have all the cool lights on the back now that's cool if you're a dj and you want people to see all the beautiful lights while you're djing or you just want to flex on people at starbucks but if you're serious about gaming get the one without the anime matrix because that one has a 120 hertz refresh rate if you get the anime matrix you're only getting 60 hertz refresh rate all right for the processor you got the amd ryzen 9 that's 4900 hs with eight cores and 16 threads now what no webcam there's no windows 10 face unlock now i don't like that now a lot of y'all think i make too much of a big deal about that but once you get used to using that on your laptop it's hard to go back to not using it next keyboard brightness you can't change the keyboard brightness it's stuck on one level of brightness i don't like that i sometimes i like my keyboard extra dull or sometimes i want it super bright there's only one level of keyboard brightness next no rgbs on your keyboard now this is kind of weird this is a gaming laptop most gaming laptops have rgb keyboards y'all know i'm all about that rgb life on this one you only got white keyboard and lastly now this is not the biggest deal in the world but it's something i just gotta mention this laptop gets extremely hot all right super hot super duper hot now on the side note there's a lot of ways that you can mitigate that as you can turn down the performance you can put it up on the stand that has better ventilation but if you're rocking this plugged in on maximum performance in your bed right this thing is going to be on fire now i got a bunch of gaming laptops and a bunch of regular laptops that i do all my work on this is the hottest laptop that i've used yet but of course with maximum power comes maximum heat so just something that you got to be aware of if you're gaming with this plugged in on maximum performance and it's sitting on your lap fellas your balls are going to be sweating if you're rocking this in the bed you will be sweating just keep that in mind but if i got to sacrifice heat for performance give me the heat now let's talk about everything that i do like number one the look this is one of the best looking laptops that i've seen yet not just on a gaming laptop on an all-around laptop usually gaming laptops they kind of look nerdy you know too much too much stuff sticking out the side too many big giant vents and ports and all that that tends to steer a lot of non-gamers away from gaming laptops because they look kind of geeky and nerdy this one right here you could come right to starbucks you could go right to your media network drop this on the table at first glance it just looks like a regular productive laptop but it's sick i the build quality on this whew the weight let me do the smell test real quick this one smells like a flawless victory all right now y'all know i'm all about playing mortal kombat this is a straight up flawless victory right here check this out let's do the one hand open test look at that one hand open no liftage at all i no lifter drove the table at all i can open this with one thumb easily not to mention check this out when you open it it's hard to see on camera but it lifts the laptop off the table why is that important that's going to give you better sound from the speakers and it's also going to allow more air to ventilate this uh ventilate the laptop because again this laptop gets super hot the more ventilation the better next get your power button with a built-in fingerprint sensor now let's do the uh boot up test let's see how long this takes to boot from completely off to completely on okay and there it is now fingerprint sensor i'm back here sweating so i don't think the fingerprint sensor is going to work the way it's supposed to but let's see that's one thing i did i will say about this the fingerprint sensor not the best in the world let me put my arm code in real quick hold up my bad my bad bear with me fingerprint sensor on this one not the best in the world all right now look even in even in um my best conditions when i'm not sweating and i'm not not drooling all over the place the fingerprint sensor is not the best let's try that again i'm going to turn this off let's put it to sleep we'll sleep it and then we'll try to fingerprint i'm going to dry my finger completely off and we'll try that again okay here we go now i want to show you how this keyboard also okay here we go all right let's get a complete dryness i did is alright so maybe my finger was a little bit wet giggity all right here we go now for the display beautiful full hd panel you do got a little bit of bezels on the bottom i see that big giant bezel not the most thinnest and uh bezel-free display on the market but it's still i just don't full hd panel 120 hertz refresh rate build quality on this amazing magnesium a little bit on the heavyweight side but again feels like cold steel all right excellent keyboard trackpad is a little bit small but super responsive and let's click on something let's click on uh what's safe to click on we click on any desk why not there it is right trackpad very responsive no problems at all nice clicky keys beautiful now let me show you what the uh backlit keyboard looks like alright so here's how your backlit keys are going to look now one of my gripes was no adjustable brightness but as you can see clearly bright enough to see in complete darkness but one thing i noticed look in the middle of the keyboard if you notice it doesn't look like all of the keys are the same level of brightness now i read a few reviews some people saying that the light bleed is a little bit off on this and um they're actually right if you notice it looks like the keys in the middle are a little bit dimmer but once your eyes start getting adjusted to this you're not gonna have a problem seeing the keys i just wish you could have made them a lot brighter or a lot dimmer or just throw full rgbs on it but this is how they look now if you take a look at the keyboard you do have a few hotkeys so you got volume up and down you got your mic on and off and you got your armory crate now if you click on that let me show you how that works we'll let that load up zoom in a little bit this is going to give you full access to all the performance features of the laptop so if you want to you can put it in windows mode you got silent you got performance you got turbo and manual so this shows you your cooling your noise reduction your energy saving your gpu performance and your cpu performance fully customize all of the different settings all right so i just pulled out my usual test video so let's take a look at the display and test out these speakers one of my new year's resolutions get on the world now quad speakers with dolby atmos not the loudest in the world but they sound great listen for yourself bass drum let's go like i said not the loudest in the world but they sound great you can feel that dobby atmos you can feel the bass pumping out of these no complaints do they sound better than the samsung laptops the answer is yes beautiful display i love this look at that this is sick all right so what about editing videos and creating content this is a certified monster now if y'all remember i just reviewed the dell xps and i told y'all i love editing videos on this one because it renders videos faster than my desktop the asus renders faster than the dell and i'm going to prove it to y'all right now i got the same video queued up alright so we're going to go to render on both i so we hit render let's hit render on this one both of these are whew the weight let me do the smell test real quick this one smells like a flawless victory all right now y'all know i'm all about playing mortal kombat this is a straight up flawless victory right here check this out let's do the one hand open test look at that one hand open no liftage at all i no lifter drove the table at all i can open this with one thumb easily not to mention check this out when you open it it's hard to see on camera but it lifts the laptop off the table why is that important that's going to give you better sound from the speakers and it's also going to allow more air to ventilate this uh ventilate the laptop because again this laptop gets super hot the more ventilation the better next get your power button with a built-in fingerprint sensor now let's do the uh boot up test let's see how long this takes to boot from completely off to completely on okay and there it is now fingerprint sensor i'm back here sweating so i don't think the fingerprint sensor is going to work the way it's supposed to but let's see that's one thing i did i will say about this the fingerprint sensor not the best in the world let me put my arm code in real quick hold up my bad my bad bear with me fingerprint sensor on this one not the best in the world all right now look even in even in um my best conditions when i'm not sweating and i'm not not drooling all over the place the fingerprint sensor is not the best let's try that again i'm going to turn this off let's put it to sleep we'll sleep it and then we'll try to fingerprint i'm going to dry my finger completely off and we'll try that again okay here we go now i want to show you how this keyboard also okay here we go all right let's get a complete dryness i did is alright so maybe my finger was a little bit wet giggity all right here we go now for the display beautiful full hd panel you do got a little bit of bezels on the bottom i see that big giant bezel not the most thinnest and uh bezel-free display on the market but it's still i just don't full hd panel 120 hertz refresh rate build quality on this amazing magnesium a little bit on the heavyweight side but again feels like cold steel all right excellent keyboard trackpad is a little bit small but super responsive and let's click on something let's click on uh what's safe to click on we click on any desk why not there it is right trackpad very responsive no problems at all nice clicky keys beautiful now let me show you what the uh backlit keyboard looks like alright so here's how your backlit keys are going to look now one of my gripes was no adjustable brightness but as you can see clearly bright enough to see in complete darkness but one thing i noticed look in the middle of the keyboard if you notice it doesn't look like all of the keys are the same level of brightness now i read a few reviews some people saying that the light bleed is a little bit off on this and um they're actually right if you notice it looks like the keys in the middle are a little bit dimmer but once your eyes start getting adjusted to this you're not gonna have a problem seeing the keys i just wish you could have made them a lot brighter or a lot dimmer or just throw full rgbs on it but this is how they look now if you take a look at the keyboard you do have a few hotkeys so you got volume up and down you got your mic on and off and you got your armory crate now if you click on that let me show you how that works we'll let that load up zoom in a little bit this is going to give you full access to all the performance features of the laptop so if you want to you can put it in windows mode you got silent you got performance you got turbo and manual so this shows you your cooling your noise reduction your energy saving your gpu performance and your cpu performance fully customize all of the different settings all right so i just pulled out my usual test video so let's take a look at the display and test out these speakers one of my new year's resolutions get on the world now quad speakers with dolby atmos not the loudest in the world but they sound great listen for yourself bass drum let's go like i said not the loudest in the world but they sound great you can feel that dobby atmos you can feel the bass pumping out of these no complaints do they sound better than the samsung laptops the answer is yes beautiful display i love this look at that this is sick all right so what about editing videos and creating content this is a certified monster now if y'all remember i just reviewed the dell xps and i told y'all i love editing videos on this one because it renders videos faster than my desktop the asus renders faster than the dell and i'm going to prove it to y'all right now i got the same video queued up alright so we're going to go to render on both i so we hit render let's hit render on this one both of these are using the full sony vegas all right so we'll do uh we'll do test test my youtube configuration youtube configuration now watch this i'm gonna try to hit render at the same time matter of fact i'll hit the dell first render render keep your eye on the timers now okay so here we go the race is on okay now the dell is at one percent already both of these at one percent okay two percent now right now it's looking like it's neck and neck i did this upstairs okay now we had three this one hit three first now it's not blowing it out the water all right this is that f4 i did this upstairs and it was rendering a little bit faster right now it's looking like neck and neck but you can see the asus is a little bit faster a little bit faster we have six percent five percent okay let's see we'll we'll switch one gets to ten first all right we had seven six keep in mind i started the dell first we had eight already we still had six we had nine and seven clearly you could see the asus is faster now the asus is already at 10. the dell is still at eight we had 11 and nine this is incredible all right the rendering speeds on the uh asus are gonna blow you away alright so if you're buying this to edit your videos or create your content you're not going to have a problem at all all right so now let's talk about the main reason you're buying this laptop gaming now before i show you how some gaming i got to make a confession every time i do a gaming laptop video i get comments from the pc master race and i always clown you i always say ah get a xbox get a playstation like a real man real men play playstation and xbox look i'm big enough to admit when i'm wrong about something boy was i wrong all right i'm about to become a full-fledged member of the pc master race gaming with the 120 hertz refresh rate is a whole nother experience now look i'ma admit it i'm not the biggest gamer in the world i only play fighting games most fighting games it doesn't matter if you use 120 to reverse rate or not a fighting game is a fighting game at least i thought that after using this laptop and playing more combat 11 for a couple of days it's like i never played mortal kombat in all these years i've been playing on my playstation and my xbox it's a totally different experience it blew my mind alright so i know my man calvin is typing right now i told you so i told you so i know calvin you're right pc master race gaming with 120 earth refresh rate mortal kombat looks like a different game all of the cinematics and the cut scenes they look so smooth and fluent now you might not be able to see that on this youtube video but take my word for it if i'm out here admitting that i'm wrong then you know playing mortal kombat on this has changed my opinion on pc gaming i'm about to become a full-fledged pc gamer all right so we're going to take it over to mortal kombat 11 i'm going to dim the lights we're using steam i got my playstation remote controller connected let's get it in all right now as usual i connected a bluetooth speaker for the dramatic effect i want y'all to see that this is the laptop i'm going to zoom in a little bit okay got my remote here we go let's do some uh classic towers now i'm doing this in real time so you can see the loading speeds let's do champion uh let's bring out my man garrus yes difficulty believe it or medium why not because a lot of y'all think i'll be playing on very easy no i don't all right here we go now i'm a little bit rusty at this so bear with me now i always say that just in case i lose that's my excuse look how beautiful this looks here it is with each one your defeat grows closer it is further than it appears all right here we go let me stop playing around now here we go i'm getting my bites back y'all see how sick this looks round let me try some new stuff ah i dropped it it up light work oh okay i need another brutality i love it all right let's wrap this up all right so overall on a scale of 110 the asus rog zephyrus g14 is a major major major go if you're looking for a 14 inch laptop with a beautiful build quality excellent display great speakers that you can do all your school work on edit all your videos and get busy with hardcore gaming this is it is this
