The Review: Sound Blaster Headset
I recently had the opportunity to review the Sound Blaster headset, and I must say that it was an exciting experience. As soon as I took off my head and put it around my neck, I noticed that the swivel mechanism only allowed me to tilt the headset upwards. However, this was quickly rectified when I discovered that the headset also swiveled downwards, allowing me to rest the ear cups on my body in a comfortable position. This was a revelation for me, as I had been using headsets with limited flexibility before.
One of the standout features of the Sound Blaster headset is its universal 3.5mm jack. While this may seem like a minor point, it's actually a significant advantage over other headsets that use proprietary jacks. Not only does this make it easier to replace or upgrade the cable, but it also ensures that the headset will work with a wide range of devices. However, I must note that the cable itself is shoddy and thin, prone to interference. A USB connector would have been a welcome addition, as it would provide a more stable and reliable connection.
Another feature that caught my attention was the glossy finish on the headset's surface. While I didn't initially appreciate this design choice, I soon grew to like it. The glossy finish not only provides a sleek appearance but also houses an LED that can display 16 million colors. This allowed me to create a range of effects and customize the color scheme to suit my mood. But what truly impressed me was the creative software that came with the headset. Sound Blaster software, in particular, deserves special mention for its incredible features.
The software suite is incredibly robust, allowing users to fine-tune their audio settings with ease. It boasts a full range of EQ options, including surround sound capabilities and customizable presets. I was also impressed by the ability to set hotkeys for specific audio effects, such as surround mode or volume adjustments. Additionally, the software allows users to change the color scheme of the headset's LED lights, giving them endless possibilities for customization. But what really stole the show for me was the pre-made filters and presets that allowed users to enhance their audio experience without requiring extensive technical knowledge.
Speaking of audio quality, I was a bit disappointed with the bass response in the Sound Blaster headset. However, after adjusting the settings using the software suite, I found that it performed admirably for its price range. The 50mm drivers proved capable of producing deep and resonant bass notes, which is no small feat considering the headset's size. Of course, this is all a matter of personal preference, but I was pleased to find that the headset's audio quality held up well against some of my favorite tracks.
In terms of compatibility, the Sound Blaster headset is designed with gaming in mind. It comes pre-installed with drivers and software for PC and Mac users, making it an excellent choice for those looking to enhance their gaming experience. The headset also features a removable microphone, which I found to be quite effective for chat applications like Skype or TeamSpeak. While the microphone may not be the best quality out there, it's more than sufficient for casual use.
Finally, I wanted to touch on the controls of the Sound Blaster headset. One of my favorite features is the endless volume wheel, which allows users to adjust the volume without having to constantly toggle between different settings. The tactile mute button is also a welcome addition, providing an easy and intuitive way to silence the microphone or turn off the audio altogether.
In conclusion, I was thoroughly impressed with the Sound Blaster headset, and I would highly recommend it to anyone in the market for a high-quality gaming headset. While there may be some minor drawbacks, such as the subpar cable quality or lack of USB connectivity, these are easily outweighed by the headset's many strengths. The software suite is particularly impressive, offering a range of features that make it an excellent choice for gamers and music enthusiasts alike.
If you're looking to purchase the Sound Blaster headset, I encourage you to check out my Amazon US and UK links below. While they may not be available in all regions, there's no harm in doing some research and exploring other options before making a purchase. With its impressive features, high-quality audio, and sleek design, the Sound Blaster headset is an excellent choice for anyone looking to upgrade their gaming or music experience.

from creative this is the creative soundblaster tactic 3d rage USB at version 2 now this is a budget oriented headset let's steal some of the features from higher-end options and tries to bring them down to a value standpoint so let's cover what you get in the box I start from the instructions and leaflets of stuff you get a read USB to cable and this list is really thin audio cable and that is the first thing I wanted to start off with in this video because this is literally shocking see absolutely shocking negatives aside this is a 3d surround sound headset so let's cover the technicalities of how that surround sound works the advantages in gaming and then we'll move on to a physical overview now most headset sub sort of sub 1 for $150 sub 120 pounds use what you call virtual surround sound so that uses two drivers one in each ear cut like so and basically what it does is it synthetically generates that 3d surround sound now for me I can't notice that much of a difference it's a physical surround sound which is where they use several drivers in an ear cup to virtual surround sound the advantage of virtual surround sound engine fits bigger drivers into here ultimately meaning better sound quality and a better face feedback and better bass performance now if we take a look at the unit itself across the top we have a really nice and thick headband this is a plastic headband however it does have a metal strip inside to key to keep that rigidity strongly to keep it nice and stiff we've got sound blaster and tactic written across the top as you can see then I realized is actually an RGB LED underneath the glossy plastic then I was much more interested we have a silver Sound Blaster logo with a red outline accent on here once again complementing the other red element on the headset if we also take a look a little bit on the headset we've got red glossy accents just above the ear cup on the rotation here just to add a little bit of a dynamic I'm gonna have leatherette air cooks with 50 millimeter drivers behind them now this uses what your core synthetic 3d Atwell virtual 3d surround sound so this is a trouser on headset means you playing game to just Call of Duty Crysis 3 battlefield that these are gonna be great because you can hear your enemies all around you and really locate where they are and an advantage to virtual surround sound is that a physical surround sound physical surround sound isn't expensive and uses more than one driver as you might have two or three or even four different if different speakers and drivers in here to replicate that surround sound means that you do ultimately have room for a bigger driver 50 millimeters in this case meaning ultimately slightly better sound quality and much better bass performance I'm not a hundred percent on the design of the air cops they are willing to make a monster on your head you don't really see them but they do seem a bit fat and round yeah it's not it's not a deal-breaker for me but it's just a design sort of a sort of comment if you will you have to keep in mind these are aimed at the the budget that kind of market now the leather air cops are not uncomfortable I do like something we do have some nice foam inside as well not a nice cotton kind of sheet to cover the driver to make it look a lot a lot lot nicer but that is more of an expectation nowadays than a bonus if you will if you take a look inside at the headband you can see we have our Al and our options to show you which one is for which yeah and we also have all our certification serial numbers and that kind of thing one other thing I do wish to mention that creative really did think out very well is the fact that the ear cups actually swivel this way now I'm not you know Matt you might be thinking James most headphones swivel so why are you so bothered now this here ear cup here is the left one and this is the right one if I put this around my neck let's say that you've
