this video ends when I find a 5 star book...
**Reading with Emotion: A Journey Through Literary Fiction**
I believe which is about like a house of a bunch of kids with different special powers and all kind of Orphans I never read that book but okay fully got cut off yesterday so for the third time I'm giving this book four stars the romance wasn't anything like Mega Swoon worthy or unique I feel like it was just good enough but the rest of the story in itself was so cozy with the little fun magic aspect and this little house that it's set in is so cute and the found family aspect and there's like a little bit of not plot twist but like little reveals happening and a conflict that they all had to get together to solve so all of that stuff made it really enjoyable as a book I dug this book out which I'm so happy about I don't know why in this video I've just thought of random books that have been sitting on my shelf for a while and this one in particular is because this book tomorrow and tomorrow and tomorrow by Gabrielle Zan absolutely wrecked my world at the beginning of this year it was one of those things where I thought it was like a 4.5 stars and then I just have never stopped thinking about this book or its impact or like even rereading it a little bit on Kindle some times and I'm just like this her writing is so good I am obsessed with her writing so I picked up her other book The Story life of AJ ficker and this is just kind of another like literary fiction where it just feels like it's not my usual genre so I don't know what to expect but I think this past 2 months I've been getting more into like general fiction or literary fiction or just books that are that mixed with other types of genres like romance and kind of humor things like that and I'm 206 pages in now I think I'm going to finish it right now and I'm absolutely upset the pen came out again I've been underlining things and that hasn't happened since my past five star read so things are looking very good with this book okay another thing with five star books is at some point it's got me looking a little bit stupid in my room because of how it's making me feel and I've already had that moment as well where I was I was looking stupid and I I caught it on video so I showed you what that looks like yeah let's I'm just going to go ahead and finish this right now right here right now right now I can't hear anything cuz I'm wearing these and I'm listening to the music as I'm talking right now but the soundtrack for the actual movie to this book is on Spotify and the soundtrack is so good just don't read the names of the songs because it'll spoil things for you I almost just got a spoiler right there and I stopped looking but it's so good it's so cute it's like a little fairy soundtrack something has just been revealed and now I think this book is going to end with me crying like a baby and I shouldn't have been so naive with Gabrielle Zan because in her other book did anything happen that was happy in that book no so why did I think what why I still can't hear myself talk so I don't know if this sounds stupid or not but no no no no no no no no I don't need to be recording my entire reaction but I has begun oh my gosh no finished the book it was one of those moments where I turned the page thinking I had like 20 more pages and it just said acknowledgements I was like oh guess I'm done guys I I think it's easy to say we found our five star book and I am so happy that it's just a one-of a kind it's not part of series it's not it's just a book on my shelf that I hadn't been reading and it was five stars all along just sitting there I didn't end up sobbing which I'm happy for but I just had a nice few maybe four tiar fall I want to finally look at the cast for the movie because I specifically was trying not to see who they cast before finishing the book but I definitely want to watch the movie Now it only came out last year let me react to the characters wait there's big actors in this what no way oh my gosh I have to watch this wait I love I love the cast oh my gosh that's amazing I need to watch this movie immediately see that was a great reaction because had I seen those characters I fully agree with all of the casting and it probably would have made reading the book better for me which is amazing I highly recommend reading this book I love Gabriel Zan in conclusion it was eight books between two Five Star reads and every single one of them is worth it to get back to that five star failing duh\\n\
"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enthe rules of the game are simple sorry the rules of the game are simple this video is not allowed to end until I find my next five star book for me personally a five-star scale looks like this one star I absolutely hated it I don't think I've ever rated a book one star actually two stars didn't connect to it in any way did not like it three stars that's pretty good I might recommend that to you but I probably won't be thinking about it again four stars amazing book loved multiple aspects of it and would highly recommend but a five-star book is something that you can't forget I'll find myself thinking about the characters weeks after reading the book I usually even have some sort of expressive response whilst reading the book such as laughing or crying or feeling like I could run a marathon and this video won't stop until I find that hey guys I got my wisdom teeth out on Friday and now it's Monday so it's I don't know if it's that's three or 4 days I don't know if you count the day that you get your teeth out but it's a great time to start reading and I've been wanting to do this video where I try to read until I get a five-star book and I actually already tried to start this video and I found it on the second book so I'm starting over because ideally this video is long and not 8 minutes and I don't know how I got so lucky so now I feel like it's going to take even longer to find a five star book but I just started this one last night this is the unmaking of June Pharaoh by Adrien young this is a book of the month pick for October I believe I'm starting this at the end of September so this is actually technically like an early release copy that I'm reading and this is the same author of fable which is like a pirate young adult fantasy romance book this one is kind of sci-fi romance murder mystery a ton of different things and it's super different for me so I'm curious to see what I'll think about it but I'm like 38 pages in and I'm definitely intrigued hey guys I'm on day five of recovering from wisdom teth surgery so my swelling went down so I'm still icing but I'm in my boyfriend's room right now y he's playing video games we call this my girlfriend my boyfriend's room because he has this like tiny twin bed in his office and it just gives childhood bedroom Vibes and I also have his PS5 is in here and then I have a bed in my library and then people will straight up ask me if we're married and sleep in separate beds which breaking news like beds anyways I've been reading this book and this has fully unlocked a new top tier romance Trope of all time this is not primary a romance book but there is a romance subplot in it and reading this after reading the seven-year slip childhood friends to lovers has always been like my top romance what's it called Trope but after these two books there is nothing in comparison to a time travel romance and this is not a spoiler cuz I don't know what's going to happen in this book at this point in time but I'm just guessing with time travel romances in general the Trope of falling in love in every timeline that you meet or someone traveling back in time and not recognizing the person that they used used to be in love with but one person knows who they are and is already in love and the other person has to fall in love over again that's insane that is a top tier romance Trope and I need to now seek out every sci-fi time travel romance plot of all time so yeah once that plot was introduced to this book now I'm eating it up it definitely had a slower start but I kind of was like it felt like one of those slow starts where you just got to trust the author that they're they know what they're doing and they're just building a beautiful world for World a beautiful world for you to dive into if you just trust the process and I definitely feel like that was true so I'm on page 125 now I think there's only like 300 pages so I'm almost halfway through it but around page 80 is when it really gets good but I honestly was reading it pretty fast even before that even though it's more of like a lyrical descriptive writing style which I usually find more boring but it was fast regardless going well I'm going to keep reading hello I finished the unmaking of June Pharaoh by Adrien young I love this book cover so much I had no idea what to expect out of this book because I couldn't really understand what genre it was in but it was like a mystery literary fiction sci-fi time travel romance which is kind of perfect and amazing and I love when I like book that are kind of in their own genre because sometimes it does become repetitive if you read certain genres and there's always the same tropes and then books like this are fully in their own their own lane they're just unique in that way and it was so good it's pretty short so I feel like if this was the type of book that was 500 pages I'd get really attached to the characters you get just enough attached to where you really care about the mystery of the story and you want to keep reading to figure out what's going on because every page is just filled with suspense because from the beginning she's like seeing things that aren't really there or hearing things and it's kind of creepy at first like I couldn't really read it at night but then as it goes on it's not really that scary it's not really meant to be like scary or creepy it's just supposed to be like mysterious like is she getting sick what's happening to her and it ended up being insane like I loved the plot twists and the conclusion and everything that you get to find out so I think this could be anywhere between like a 4.25 and a 4.75 I don't know like really really really highly rated book because I would definitely recommend this to a ton of people and I would love to see their reaction after reading it and the writing was really beautiful as well the only reason it's not a five star is because I didn't get overly attached to the characters and the beginning is pretty slow to where I almost was like I don't know if I'll like this book but that kind of happens to me with genres that I'm not comfortable with but then it gets so good so yeah this was a great start and super highly rated book but not a five star so since the most previous five star book that I read was by Ashley poson I thought there's no smarter idea than reading her backlist of books the dead Romantics is one that she published the year before the 7-year slip and I completely ignored it because people mentioned that it was a girl who could see go and she falls in love and I was like I don't know about that man but turns out if Ashley paon writes magical realism I will be reading it from now on it's the next day and I am suddenly 209 pages into this book her books are very fast-paced I picked this one up because I read the 7year slip by her which is actually her newer book and I gave that one of five stars it's actually what ended this video when I tried to film it previously but it was only the second book I read but it was like 4 minutes long which would have been really funny but I didn't want to do that to you guys so I figured I'd have a high chance of a highly rated book if I read another one by her and this one is definitely still fun and I'm still enjoying it but it's not at all the feeling that I was getting from 7year slip early on I feel like I was getting amazing High star ratings from like page two of seven-year slip they're all so easy to read they're just like a good movie characters are always so fun they're actually pretty similar books like they're both set in New York City the main characters work in publishing and there's some sort of like sci-fi e element not really sci-fi but like in this one she can see ghost and in the other one the apartment time travels 7 years into the past or future so very similar style which is fun because it's all very unique but I have no idea what I'd rate this so far but it's definitely fun I'm not not enjoying it but it's definitely not five star feelings it's the next day on a Sunday and I've been asleep on a couch all day watching football but also reading and I finished the dead Romantics this was one of those books where it was kind of like so so throughout the middle I was reading it still but I didn't really feel any type of way about it but then the ending like the last 70 Pages or so were so good I kind of feel like books deserve credit when they can make even the last 70 pages of a book good because even if it took setting up it's still impressive so I think I'm going to give this book a four stars her books are just very fun and I like how the magic is very Whimsical because I never wanted to read this book because people talked about how there were ghosts in it and I just thought that would be not fun to read about but then after reading her first book or no this is her most recent book after reading this one first the sort of like magical sci-fi elements being super chill I was like oh okay now I understand what it might be like for it to be about ghosts in this book and it was exactly that like ghosts were not this crazy Supernatural thing it was just like as if they were talking to another person that no one else could see and they were nice and they were just like normal people it wasn't anything creepy or paranormal feeling at all you're so cute I love this one so much more obviously but I still enjoyed the book but I don't know I feel like I'm going to adjust my rating a little bit maybe it'd be like a no four is good four is good then I started a new book on Kindle because actual book is so massive I'm finally starting binding 13 by Chloe Walsh this is part of the boys of toen series and as you can tell by this cover it's an indie romance and I think it actually got picked up to be traditionally published this might be fun to read physically actually but it's just so heavy it feels like a textbook and the text is tiny but this is like a sports romance with found family Trope I think but people who love this book would die for it and it's like an easy five star six-star series for tons of people so this could be the one that does it or maybe the second book honestly a second book in a series is kind of a hack into finding a five-star book because you're so immersed into the world that you probably are more attached to the characters which means you like the book more so I'm like 10% through it on Kindle it's also dual point of view so when it got to Johnny's point of view he was saying some lines that kind of cringed me out and I was like oh no this might be the type of writing style that I don't like but I kept reading and now I'm kind of invested and it's one of those like easy bingeable books and I haven't read like an easy bingeable Indie romance in so long so kind of really excited let's start reading good morning guys it's now the next day on Monday I've been reading binding 13 and I've reached the point of a predicament where I made it to chapter 8 I looked it up in the book and that is Page 96 and there are 600 pages in this book it's been in a very quick 100 pages but this is the type of Indie romance that is super vulgar and it's the type of romance book that I haven't read in a very long time and it's it's one that I don't ever really recommend because it's just not my taste it's kind of like watching a I was going to say reality television show it almost reminds me of like Degrassi or one of those High School dramas where there's a lot of relationships and that sort of drama so it's entertaining it's fast-paced but it's not something that I really like recommend to people or up myself anymore these days and I knew that about this genre but the Curiosity just gets the best of me when people that I follow love these books so it's like do I already know I'm probably not going to ever recommend this book to people might not even really enjoy it and keep reading it for 500 pages or stop where I'm at now even though I read 100 pages and pick up a new book I don't know earlier in the video when I was talking about how this book is a October book in the month pick if you were kind of confused about what I was talking about book of the month is a monthly subscription service so it would come in a box like this with your hard cover book in it let me show you something I use the app so on the first of every month it'll say here are the October books and then I scroll through the options so we've got a gothic fiction a literary fiction a thriller a fantasy a literary fiction a contemporary fiction and sometimes they have romance and then I choose one of them and then they're sent to my doorstep and what I really like about them is people will ask me how I find my next book that I want to read and with this service they have a bunch of people vetting through hundreds of books that they've read and then the books they choose to show you every month are the ones that they think are the best so even if it's an author I've never heard of or a genre like this one that I don't normally read I trust them and I read it anyways and that's honestly how I found a ton of my new favorites or authors that I love because they were the ones who found be Tre by Emily Henry The Bodyguard by Catherine Center and all of those types of books are ones that I would have probably not seen had book of the month not chosen them for me and then I have this little collection here all of the spines match up and that just really tickles something in my brain so this month if you click the link in my description and use this promo code you'll actually get the book for $5 usually the sale is $9.99 but this month it's $5 and it's a hard cover book so that's insane thank you book of the month for sponsoring this video you should actually like not pass up that deal that's insane I went to Starbucks because Ashlin who makes YouTube videos and her husband makes them too they're so cute I love them so much you guys need to watch their book channels if you don't already she gave me a $20 gift card to Starbucks just on a random day which is so nice so I got her order which is an oat milk latte with blonde espresso two pumps of chai and one pump of pumpkin sauce and it's so good but I randomly I have no idea how I thought of this I think it's because it kind of relates to something that happens in this book but my brain thought about swear on this life by Renee Carino which has been sitting on my bookshelf for like a year or a year and a half or something so it hasn't even been on a TBR where I've been like oh I need to read this it's just been kind of unread on my shelf and I don't even think about it and I random got the urge to read it and I'm only 12 pages in but I really like it and I can just tell this is the type of book that I actually like so I'm going to dnf finding 13 but it's not because I don't get why people love those books I feel like I could I just choose not to if that makes any sense it probably won't unless it does it also doesn't make sense this just my type of book nowadays you know what I mean so well at least I think so I'm only 12 pages in but it starts out where they're already in a relationship and they're just fighting on the first few pages so I'm sucked in okay I'm reading this book and the premise of this one is so cool and I love how it just gets right into the story immediately because basically it's about a girl who's having a hard day so her roommate is like oh you should read this new book it's this new bestselling book and it was so good so she sits down to read it and she ends up realizing she's reading about her own life and she hasn't talked to the boy who wrote the story in like 12 years or something and we don't know why and then most of what you're reading is like the actual book that she's reading about her own life and it's so good it's just super intriguing I'm on page 40 I think this one's going to fly by and honestly this author I gave Before We Were Strangers Like a 4.5 or five stars so this could be it guys I don't know but it's looking great so far okay guys I finished swear on this life by Rene Carino I was on a little road trip yesterday and this book was so good that I risked car sickness to read it in the car which is a big deal so this book definitely had the quality of needing to finish it because I wanted the two characters to resolve their conflict so bad and I needed to keep reading to figure out how it happened there are so many like tactics in this book honestly where it just made you want to keep reading and that's great I love when books do that cuz the opposite of that when you don't want to pick up a book is like the worst feeling ever so this is definitely a Fast book and I didn't even notice this at first but there is a review from Colleen Hoover on the front which is funny because as I was reading it I was kind of thinking like this does kind of remind me of a Colleen Hoover novel and I think that's the thing with this book is the characters were pretty great like I can picture them very well so that's great and the plot was really great like I think the idea of this book is amazing but her writing style was kind of just getting to me at some points because it was very I don't know it felt a little bit incomplete to me like the characters would be talking and they be no description of how they delivered a line it would just say and then he said this she said this blah blah blah da d da so it's like the plot's happening but there wasn't enough description like I didn't really like the writing style that much which is weird cuz I don't remember it being like that in before we were strangers and it almost felt like this was a book that she had written earlier on in her career but I think it actually came out after oh it says on the back that she's a screenwriter which almost makes sense cuz it just felt like I was reading a script sometimes when there is dialogue so that kind of makes sense but if you like the premise of this book and you want like a really quick 300 Page romance book with some drama I would highly recommend there's a lot of really sad topics in this book so you could look those up before you read it if you want to I think I'm going to give this like a 3.75 stars but at the beginning I kind of was like oh this might be a five star so I was wrong but I still really enjoyed my time reading it this next book I definitely picked because I think it has very high potential to be a five star and that is five Survive by Holly Jackson because I read the good Girl's Guide to murder Trilogy and absolutely love that trilogy so much it's definitely five star and this is like a quick young adult Thriller and everyone who I've seen read this says that they read it in like a day so not only will it be a fast read hopefully it's a really good read so we're going to find out I got like 18 pages into it last night I'm on chapter 3 I was having trouble understanding who the six characters were but I think I'm starting to understand it a little bit now I think it only takes place over like one day in an RV at a camp site so should be interesting hey M are you playing bone it's a rainy day which means it's kind of the first day I felt like it feels like fall did that make any sense which I feel like is going to add to the Ambiance of reading this thriller book I actually read a ton yesterday I made it to Page 227 which means I read like 210 pages in a day and it was quite easy to do so I was not bored really ever at all and it's pretty interesting that she can make this book engaging when they've just been in in an RV at the same spot at the campsite for the entire book and it's just taking place over one night so you get little chapter breaks that are like 1:00 a.m. 2: a.m. 3: a.m. and you would think it would get boring from that he always chewes phone when I film it's crazy you would think that it could get boring but it just hasn't gotten boring yet I feel like we're actually about to get to the meat of the story because I think some people's Dark Secrets From the Past are about to be revealed and I am really excited to see what the ending of this book is like because Holly Jackson is just known to give a great twist to a book one that you can't see coming because I definitely have guesses to what could happen because it feels obvious but I know there's no way that she's written something that obvious so I'm excited to spend this cozy rainy day finishing this thriller book and we'll see if it's five stars I mean I don't think it's not a five stars yet but I don't know I don't know I feel like Thrillers are so dependent on the ending so we'll just have to keep reading and see finally getting answers definitely didn't guess any of this yeah hly Jackson genius territory I will say oh my gosh done I need to think about what I just read the last like 50 pages exploded so yall saw me finished five survive yesterday Holly Jackson does not disappoint when it comes com to a plot twist it really got me it got me good because at first I was like oh I did guess that and then I didn't guess like any of the ending at all cuz she makes it layered okay it's like an actual backstory that makes sense and it's not just thrown together I think she's a really good author for mystery thrillers I was trying to figure out if I would give it five stars and something that definitely is swaying my decision is like some of my favorite booktubers have given this five stars when I posted on my Instagram story so many of you guys were dming me saying it's like your favorite book and I was like oh no yeah like I could toally agree with that like I could definitely make this five stars and end the video but I just kept questioning it throughout the day and if you're questioning it then it's definitely not a festar but I think it's really good like I would highly recommend it to people but I just think it took a bit for me to get into the book and then I wasn't like super attached to all of the characters which usually happens to me in thriller books anyways because it feels like they kind of just exist so that I can get to a plot twist but also I can actually care about them themselves so I think this is like a 4.5 star book which is totally fine because yesterday I thought I would end the video on this book and I just randomly picked this one up not even trying to go for a book that I would think would be five star it's just like picking up a fun little next read the very secret society of irregular Witches by sangu mundana I saw this cover a lot last year cuz it just looks like a cute little fall romance book with some magic like just Whimsical magic in it and I don't know why sometimes these books look like they just won't be written well because they're so overly themed and I start reading it and it's amazing like I sat down at a coffee shop and read a 100 Pages straight without moving put my little headphones on put on a playlist turn the volume down to two I can't hear the lyrics that loud and The Vibes were just amazing in every way like it was fast moving the plot was fun I loved the characters I loved the atmosphere basically everything a book needs to be five stars and now I'm on page 124 and even like all this morning when I was getting ready I wanted to get ready faster so that I could go sit on the couch and read this book so all signs are pointing towards new favorite book especially themed for the fall yeah not impr pressure on it let's just say I'm going to put my headphones back on put that playlist back on sit on the couch and probably binge the rest of this book hi I'm at an Airbnb now for Ryan's birthday party I finished the very secret society of irregular witches I gave it four stars but it was really good at the start and then it kind of tapered off for me but it was really cute like found family very wholesome amazing for the fall I started this book it's too echo in here I'm going to talk to you later okay I'm back home from the Airbnb we did for Ryan's birthday party and I was trying to get a clip in the bathroom it was too echoey but I finished the very secret society of irregular witches and this book was so good like this is a very highly recommendable book for the fall time I saw a review on Goodreads that said it had the found family of the House of the Cerulean sea I believe which is about like a house of a bunch of kids with different special powers and all kind of Orphans I never read that book but okay fully got cut off yesterday so for the third time I'm giving this book four stars the romance wasn't anything like Mega Swoon worthy or unique I feel like it was just good enough but the rest of the story in itself was so cozy with the little fun magic aspect and this little house that it's set in is so cute and the found family aspect and there's like a little bit of not plot twist but like little reveals happening and a conflict that they all had to get together to solve so all of that stuff made it really enjoyable as a book I dug this book out which I'm so happy about I don't know why in this video I've just thought of random books that have been sitting on my shelf for a while and this one in particular is because this book tomorrow and tomorrow and tomorrow by Gabrielle Zan absolutely wrecked my world at the beginning of this year it was one of those things where I thought it was like a 4.5 stars and then I just have never stopped thinking about this book or its impact or like even rereading it a little bit on Kindle some times and I'm just like this her writing is so good I am obsessed with her writing so I picked up her other book The Story life of AJ ficker and this is just kind of another like literary fiction where it just feels like it's not my usual genre so I don't know what to expect but I think this past 2 months I've been getting more into like general fiction or literary fiction or just books that are that mixed with other types of genres like romance and kind of humor things like that and I'm 206 pages in now I think I'm going to finish it right now and I'm absolutely upset the pen came out again I've been underlining things and that hasn't happened since my past five star read so things are looking very good with this book okay another thing with five star books is at some point it's got me looking a little bit stupid in my room because of how it's making me feel and I've already had that moment as well where I was I was looking stupid and I I caught it on video so I showed you what that looks like yeah let's I'm just going to go ahead and finish this right now right here right now right now I can't hear anything cuz I'm wearing these and I'm listening to the music as I'm talking right now but the soundtrack for the actual movie to this book is on Spotify and the soundtrack is so good just don't read the names of the songs because it'll spoil things for you I almost just got a spoiler right there and I stopped looking but it's so good it's so cute it's like a little fairy soundtrack something has just been revealed and now I think this book is going to end with me crying like a baby and I shouldn't have been so naive with Gabrielle Zan because in her other book did anything happen that was happy in that book no so why did I think what why I still can't hear myself talk so I don't know if this sounds stupid or not but no no no no no no no no I don't need to be recording my entire reaction but I has begun oh my gosh no finished the book it was one of those moments where I turned the page thinking I had like 20 more pages and it just said acknowledgements I was like oh guess I'm done guys I I think it's easy to say we found our five star book and I am so happy that it's just a one-of a kind it's not part of series it's not it's just a book on my shelf that I hadn't been reading and it was five stars all along just sitting there I didn't end up sobbing which I'm happy for but I just had a nice few maybe four tiar fall I want to finally look at the cast for the movie because I specifically was trying not to see who they cast before finishing the book but I definitely want to watch the movie Now it only came out last year let me react to the characters wait there's big actors in this what no way oh my gosh I have to watch this wait I love I love the cast oh my gosh that's amazing I need to watch this movie immediately see that was a great reaction because had I seen those characters I fully agree with all of the casting and it probably would have made reading the book better for me which is amazing I highly recommend reading this book I love Gabriel Zan in conclusion it was eight books between two Five Star reads and every single one of them is worth it to get back to that five star failing duhthe rules of the game are simple sorry the rules of the game are simple this video is not allowed to end until I find my next five star book for me personally a five-star scale looks like this one star I absolutely hated it I don't think I've ever rated a book one star actually two stars didn't connect to it in any way did not like it three stars that's pretty good I might recommend that to you but I probably won't be thinking about it again four stars amazing book loved multiple aspects of it and would highly recommend but a five-star book is something that you can't forget I'll find myself thinking about the characters weeks after reading the book I usually even have some sort of expressive response whilst reading the book such as laughing or crying or feeling like I could run a marathon and this video won't stop until I find that hey guys I got my wisdom teeth out on Friday and now it's Monday so it's I don't know if it's that's three or 4 days I don't know if you count the day that you get your teeth out but it's a great time to start reading and I've been wanting to do this video where I try to read until I get a five-star book and I actually already tried to start this video and I found it on the second book so I'm starting over because ideally this video is long and not 8 minutes and I don't know how I got so lucky so now I feel like it's going to take even longer to find a five star book but I just started this one last night this is the unmaking of June Pharaoh by Adrien young this is a book of the month pick for October I believe I'm starting this at the end of September so this is actually technically like an early release copy that I'm reading and this is the same author of fable which is like a pirate young adult fantasy romance book this one is kind of sci-fi romance murder mystery a ton of different things and it's super different for me so I'm curious to see what I'll think about it but I'm like 38 pages in and I'm definitely intrigued hey guys I'm on day five of recovering from wisdom teth surgery so my swelling went down so I'm still icing but I'm in my boyfriend's room right now y he's playing video games we call this my girlfriend my boyfriend's room because he has this like tiny twin bed in his office and it just gives childhood bedroom Vibes and I also have his PS5 is in here and then I have a bed in my library and then people will straight up ask me if we're married and sleep in separate beds which breaking news like beds anyways I've been reading this book and this has fully unlocked a new top tier romance Trope of all time this is not primary a romance book but there is a romance subplot in it and reading this after reading the seven-year slip childhood friends to lovers has always been like my top romance what's it called Trope but after these two books there is nothing in comparison to a time travel romance and this is not a spoiler cuz I don't know what's going to happen in this book at this point in time but I'm just guessing with time travel romances in general the Trope of falling in love in every timeline that you meet or someone traveling back in time and not recognizing the person that they used used to be in love with but one person knows who they are and is already in love and the other person has to fall in love over again that's insane that is a top tier romance Trope and I need to now seek out every sci-fi time travel romance plot of all time so yeah once that plot was introduced to this book now I'm eating it up it definitely had a slower start but I kind of was like it felt like one of those slow starts where you just got to trust the author that they're they know what they're doing and they're just building a beautiful world for World a beautiful world for you to dive into if you just trust the process and I definitely feel like that was true so I'm on page 125 now I think there's only like 300 pages so I'm almost halfway through it but around page 80 is when it really gets good but I honestly was reading it pretty fast even before that even though it's more of like a lyrical descriptive writing style which I usually find more boring but it was fast regardless going well I'm going to keep reading hello I finished the unmaking of June Pharaoh by Adrien young I love this book cover so much I had no idea what to expect out of this book because I couldn't really understand what genre it was in but it was like a mystery literary fiction sci-fi time travel romance which is kind of perfect and amazing and I love when I like book that are kind of in their own genre because sometimes it does become repetitive if you read certain genres and there's always the same tropes and then books like this are fully in their own their own lane they're just unique in that way and it was so good it's pretty short so I feel like if this was the type of book that was 500 pages I'd get really attached to the characters you get just enough attached to where you really care about the mystery of the story and you want to keep reading to figure out what's going on because every page is just filled with suspense because from the beginning she's like seeing things that aren't really there or hearing things and it's kind of creepy at first like I couldn't really read it at night but then as it goes on it's not really that scary it's not really meant to be like scary or creepy it's just supposed to be like mysterious like is she getting sick what's happening to her and it ended up being insane like I loved the plot twists and the conclusion and everything that you get to find out so I think this could be anywhere between like a 4.25 and a 4.75 I don't know like really really really highly rated book because I would definitely recommend this to a ton of people and I would love to see their reaction after reading it and the writing was really beautiful as well the only reason it's not a five star is because I didn't get overly attached to the characters and the beginning is pretty slow to where I almost was like I don't know if I'll like this book but that kind of happens to me with genres that I'm not comfortable with but then it gets so good so yeah this was a great start and super highly rated book but not a five star so since the most previous five star book that I read was by Ashley poson I thought there's no smarter idea than reading her backlist of books the dead Romantics is one that she published the year before the 7-year slip and I completely ignored it because people mentioned that it was a girl who could see go and she falls in love and I was like I don't know about that man but turns out if Ashley paon writes magical realism I will be reading it from now on it's the next day and I am suddenly 209 pages into this book her books are very fast-paced I picked this one up because I read the 7year slip by her which is actually her newer book and I gave that one of five stars it's actually what ended this video when I tried to film it previously but it was only the second book I read but it was like 4 minutes long which would have been really funny but I didn't want to do that to you guys so I figured I'd have a high chance of a highly rated book if I read another one by her and this one is definitely still fun and I'm still enjoying it but it's not at all the feeling that I was getting from 7year slip early on I feel like I was getting amazing High star ratings from like page two of seven-year slip they're all so easy to read they're just like a good movie characters are always so fun they're actually pretty similar books like they're both set in New York City the main characters work in publishing and there's some sort of like sci-fi e element not really sci-fi but like in this one she can see ghost and in the other one the apartment time travels 7 years into the past or future so very similar style which is fun because it's all very unique but I have no idea what I'd rate this so far but it's definitely fun I'm not not enjoying it but it's definitely not five star feelings it's the next day on a Sunday and I've been asleep on a couch all day watching football but also reading and I finished the dead Romantics this was one of those books where it was kind of like so so throughout the middle I was reading it still but I didn't really feel any type of way about it but then the ending like the last 70 Pages or so were so good I kind of feel like books deserve credit when they can make even the last 70 pages of a book good because even if it took setting up it's still impressive so I think I'm going to give this book a four stars her books are just very fun and I like how the magic is very Whimsical because I never wanted to read this book because people talked about how there were ghosts in it and I just thought that would be not fun to read about but then after reading her first book or no this is her most recent book after reading this one first the sort of like magical sci-fi elements being super chill I was like oh okay now I understand what it might be like for it to be about ghosts in this book and it was exactly that like ghosts were not this crazy Supernatural thing it was just like as if they were talking to another person that no one else could see and they were nice and they were just like normal people it wasn't anything creepy or paranormal feeling at all you're so cute I love this one so much more obviously but I still enjoyed the book but I don't know I feel like I'm going to adjust my rating a little bit maybe it'd be like a no four is good four is good then I started a new book on Kindle because actual book is so massive I'm finally starting binding 13 by Chloe Walsh this is part of the boys of toen series and as you can tell by this cover it's an indie romance and I think it actually got picked up to be traditionally published this might be fun to read physically actually but it's just so heavy it feels like a textbook and the text is tiny but this is like a sports romance with found family Trope I think but people who love this book would die for it and it's like an easy five star six-star series for tons of people so this could be the one that does it or maybe the second book honestly a second book in a series is kind of a hack into finding a five-star book because you're so immersed into the world that you probably are more attached to the characters which means you like the book more so I'm like 10% through it on Kindle it's also dual point of view so when it got to Johnny's point of view he was saying some lines that kind of cringed me out and I was like oh no this might be the type of writing style that I don't like but I kept reading and now I'm kind of invested and it's one of those like easy bingeable books and I haven't read like an easy bingeable Indie romance in so long so kind of really excited let's start reading good morning guys it's now the next day on Monday I've been reading binding 13 and I've reached the point of a predicament where I made it to chapter 8 I looked it up in the book and that is Page 96 and there are 600 pages in this book it's been in a very quick 100 pages but this is the type of Indie romance that is super vulgar and it's the type of romance book that I haven't read in a very long time and it's it's one that I don't ever really recommend because it's just not my taste it's kind of like watching a I was going to say reality television show it almost reminds me of like Degrassi or one of those High School dramas where there's a lot of relationships and that sort of drama so it's entertaining it's fast-paced but it's not something that I really like recommend to people or up myself anymore these days and I knew that about this genre but the Curiosity just gets the best of me when people that I follow love these books so it's like do I already know I'm probably not going to ever recommend this book to people might not even really enjoy it and keep reading it for 500 pages or stop where I'm at now even though I read 100 pages and pick up a new book I don't know earlier in the video when I was talking about how this book is a October book in the month pick if you were kind of confused about what I was talking about book of the month is a monthly subscription service so it would come in a box like this with your hard cover book in it let me show you something I use the app so on the first of every month it'll say here are the October books and then I scroll through the options so we've got a gothic fiction a literary fiction a thriller a fantasy a literary fiction a contemporary fiction and sometimes they have romance and then I choose one of them and then they're sent to my doorstep and what I really like about them is people will ask me how I find my next book that I want to read and with this service they have a bunch of people vetting through hundreds of books that they've read and then the books they choose to show you every month are the ones that they think are the best so even if it's an author I've never heard of or a genre like this one that I don't normally read I trust them and I read it anyways and that's honestly how I found a ton of my new favorites or authors that I love because they were the ones who found be Tre by Emily Henry The Bodyguard by Catherine Center and all of those types of books are ones that I would have probably not seen had book of the month not chosen them for me and then I have this little collection here all of the spines match up and that just really tickles something in my brain so this month if you click the link in my description and use this promo code you'll actually get the book for $5 usually the sale is $9.99 but this month it's $5 and it's a hard cover book so that's insane thank you book of the month for sponsoring this video you should actually like not pass up that deal that's insane I went to Starbucks because Ashlin who makes YouTube videos and her husband makes them too they're so cute I love them so much you guys need to watch their book channels if you don't already she gave me a $20 gift card to Starbucks just on a random day which is so nice so I got her order which is an oat milk latte with blonde espresso two pumps of chai and one pump of pumpkin sauce and it's so good but I randomly I have no idea how I thought of this I think it's because it kind of relates to something that happens in this book but my brain thought about swear on this life by Renee Carino which has been sitting on my bookshelf for like a year or a year and a half or something so it hasn't even been on a TBR where I've been like oh I need to read this it's just been kind of unread on my shelf and I don't even think about it and I random got the urge to read it and I'm only 12 pages in but I really like it and I can just tell this is the type of book that I actually like so I'm going to dnf finding 13 but it's not because I don't get why people love those books I feel like I could I just choose not to if that makes any sense it probably won't unless it does it also doesn't make sense this just my type of book nowadays you know what I mean so well at least I think so I'm only 12 pages in but it starts out where they're already in a relationship and they're just fighting on the first few pages so I'm sucked in okay I'm reading this book and the premise of this one is so cool and I love how it just gets right into the story immediately because basically it's about a girl who's having a hard day so her roommate is like oh you should read this new book it's this new bestselling book and it was so good so she sits down to read it and she ends up realizing she's reading about her own life and she hasn't talked to the boy who wrote the story in like 12 years or something and we don't know why and then most of what you're reading is like the actual book that she's reading about her own life and it's so good it's just super intriguing I'm on page 40 I think this one's going to fly by and honestly this author I gave Before We Were Strangers Like a 4.5 or five stars so this could be it guys I don't know but it's looking great so far okay guys I finished swear on this life by Rene Carino I was on a little road trip yesterday and this book was so good that I risked car sickness to read it in the car which is a big deal so this book definitely had the quality of needing to finish it because I wanted the two characters to resolve their conflict so bad and I needed to keep reading to figure out how it happened there are so many like tactics in this book honestly where it just made you want to keep reading and that's great I love when books do that cuz the opposite of that when you don't want to pick up a book is like the worst feeling ever so this is definitely a Fast book and I didn't even notice this at first but there is a review from Colleen Hoover on the front which is funny because as I was reading it I was kind of thinking like this does kind of remind me of a Colleen Hoover novel and I think that's the thing with this book is the characters were pretty great like I can picture them very well so that's great and the plot was really great like I think the idea of this book is amazing but her writing style was kind of just getting to me at some points because it was very I don't know it felt a little bit incomplete to me like the characters would be talking and they be no description of how they delivered a line it would just say and then he said this she said this blah blah blah da d da so it's like the plot's happening but there wasn't enough description like I didn't really like the writing style that much which is weird cuz I don't remember it being like that in before we were strangers and it almost felt like this was a book that she had written earlier on in her career but I think it actually came out after oh it says on the back that she's a screenwriter which almost makes sense cuz it just felt like I was reading a script sometimes when there is dialogue so that kind of makes sense but if you like the premise of this book and you want like a really quick 300 Page romance book with some drama I would highly recommend there's a lot of really sad topics in this book so you could look those up before you read it if you want to I think I'm going to give this like a 3.75 stars but at the beginning I kind of was like oh this might be a five star so I was wrong but I still really enjoyed my time reading it this next book I definitely picked because I think it has very high potential to be a five star and that is five Survive by Holly Jackson because I read the good Girl's Guide to murder Trilogy and absolutely love that trilogy so much it's definitely five star and this is like a quick young adult Thriller and everyone who I've seen read this says that they read it in like a day so not only will it be a fast read hopefully it's a really good read so we're going to find out I got like 18 pages into it last night I'm on chapter 3 I was having trouble understanding who the six characters were but I think I'm starting to understand it a little bit now I think it only takes place over like one day in an RV at a camp site so should be interesting hey M are you playing bone it's a rainy day which means it's kind of the first day I felt like it feels like fall did that make any sense which I feel like is going to add to the Ambiance of reading this thriller book I actually read a ton yesterday I made it to Page 227 which means I read like 210 pages in a day and it was quite easy to do so I was not bored really ever at all and it's pretty interesting that she can make this book engaging when they've just been in in an RV at the same spot at the campsite for the entire book and it's just taking place over one night so you get little chapter breaks that are like 1:00 a.m. 2: a.m. 3: a.m. and you would think it would get boring from that he always chewes phone when I film it's crazy you would think that it could get boring but it just hasn't gotten boring yet I feel like we're actually about to get to the meat of the story because I think some people's Dark Secrets From the Past are about to be revealed and I am really excited to see what the ending of this book is like because Holly Jackson is just known to give a great twist to a book one that you can't see coming because I definitely have guesses to what could happen because it feels obvious but I know there's no way that she's written something that obvious so I'm excited to spend this cozy rainy day finishing this thriller book and we'll see if it's five stars I mean I don't think it's not a five stars yet but I don't know I don't know I feel like Thrillers are so dependent on the ending so we'll just have to keep reading and see finally getting answers definitely didn't guess any of this yeah hly Jackson genius territory I will say oh my gosh done I need to think about what I just read the last like 50 pages exploded so yall saw me finished five survive yesterday Holly Jackson does not disappoint when it comes com to a plot twist it really got me it got me good because at first I was like oh I did guess that and then I didn't guess like any of the ending at all cuz she makes it layered okay it's like an actual backstory that makes sense and it's not just thrown together I think she's a really good author for mystery thrillers I was trying to figure out if I would give it five stars and something that definitely is swaying my decision is like some of my favorite booktubers have given this five stars when I posted on my Instagram story so many of you guys were dming me saying it's like your favorite book and I was like oh no yeah like I could toally agree with that like I could definitely make this five stars and end the video but I just kept questioning it throughout the day and if you're questioning it then it's definitely not a festar but I think it's really good like I would highly recommend it to people but I just think it took a bit for me to get into the book and then I wasn't like super attached to all of the characters which usually happens to me in thriller books anyways because it feels like they kind of just exist so that I can get to a plot twist but also I can actually care about them themselves so I think this is like a 4.5 star book which is totally fine because yesterday I thought I would end the video on this book and I just randomly picked this one up not even trying to go for a book that I would think would be five star it's just like picking up a fun little next read the very secret society of irregular Witches by sangu mundana I saw this cover a lot last year cuz it just looks like a cute little fall romance book with some magic like just Whimsical magic in it and I don't know why sometimes these books look like they just won't be written well because they're so overly themed and I start reading it and it's amazing like I sat down at a coffee shop and read a 100 Pages straight without moving put my little headphones on put on a playlist turn the volume down to two I can't hear the lyrics that loud and The Vibes were just amazing in every way like it was fast moving the plot was fun I loved the characters I loved the atmosphere basically everything a book needs to be five stars and now I'm on page 124 and even like all this morning when I was getting ready I wanted to get ready faster so that I could go sit on the couch and read this book so all signs are pointing towards new favorite book especially themed for the fall yeah not impr pressure on it let's just say I'm going to put my headphones back on put that playlist back on sit on the couch and probably binge the rest of this book hi I'm at an Airbnb now for Ryan's birthday party I finished the very secret society of irregular witches I gave it four stars but it was really good at the start and then it kind of tapered off for me but it was really cute like found family very wholesome amazing for the fall I started this book it's too echo in here I'm going to talk to you later okay I'm back home from the Airbnb we did for Ryan's birthday party and I was trying to get a clip in the bathroom it was too echoey but I finished the very secret society of irregular witches and this book was so good like this is a very highly recommendable book for the fall time I saw a review on Goodreads that said it had the found family of the House of the Cerulean sea I believe which is about like a house of a bunch of kids with different special powers and all kind of Orphans I never read that book but okay fully got cut off yesterday so for the third time I'm giving this book four stars the romance wasn't anything like Mega Swoon worthy or unique I feel like it was just good enough but the rest of the story in itself was so cozy with the little fun magic aspect and this little house that it's set in is so cute and the found family aspect and there's like a little bit of not plot twist but like little reveals happening and a conflict that they all had to get together to solve so all of that stuff made it really enjoyable as a book I dug this book out which I'm so happy about I don't know why in this video I've just thought of random books that have been sitting on my shelf for a while and this one in particular is because this book tomorrow and tomorrow and tomorrow by Gabrielle Zan absolutely wrecked my world at the beginning of this year it was one of those things where I thought it was like a 4.5 stars and then I just have never stopped thinking about this book or its impact or like even rereading it a little bit on Kindle some times and I'm just like this her writing is so good I am obsessed with her writing so I picked up her other book The Story life of AJ ficker and this is just kind of another like literary fiction where it just feels like it's not my usual genre so I don't know what to expect but I think this past 2 months I've been getting more into like general fiction or literary fiction or just books that are that mixed with other types of genres like romance and kind of humor things like that and I'm 206 pages in now I think I'm going to finish it right now and I'm absolutely upset the pen came out again I've been underlining things and that hasn't happened since my past five star read so things are looking very good with this book okay another thing with five star books is at some point it's got me looking a little bit stupid in my room because of how it's making me feel and I've already had that moment as well where I was I was looking stupid and I I caught it on video so I showed you what that looks like yeah let's I'm just going to go ahead and finish this right now right here right now right now I can't hear anything cuz I'm wearing these and I'm listening to the music as I'm talking right now but the soundtrack for the actual movie to this book is on Spotify and the soundtrack is so good just don't read the names of the songs because it'll spoil things for you I almost just got a spoiler right there and I stopped looking but it's so good it's so cute it's like a little fairy soundtrack something has just been revealed and now I think this book is going to end with me crying like a baby and I shouldn't have been so naive with Gabrielle Zan because in her other book did anything happen that was happy in that book no so why did I think what why I still can't hear myself talk so I don't know if this sounds stupid or not but no no no no no no no no I don't need to be recording my entire reaction but I has begun oh my gosh no finished the book it was one of those moments where I turned the page thinking I had like 20 more pages and it just said acknowledgements I was like oh guess I'm done guys I I think it's easy to say we found our five star book and I am so happy that it's just a one-of a kind it's not part of series it's not it's just a book on my shelf that I hadn't been reading and it was five stars all along just sitting there I didn't end up sobbing which I'm happy for but I just had a nice few maybe four tiar fall I want to finally look at the cast for the movie because I specifically was trying not to see who they cast before finishing the book but I definitely want to watch the movie Now it only came out last year let me react to the characters wait there's big actors in this what no way oh my gosh I have to watch this wait I love I love the cast oh my gosh that's amazing I need to watch this movie immediately see that was a great reaction because had I seen those characters I fully agree with all of the casting and it probably would have made reading the book better for me which is amazing I highly recommend reading this book I love Gabriel Zan in conclusion it was eight books between two Five Star reads and every single one of them is worth it to get back to that five star failing duh\n"
