How to Use Video Chat with Google Talk on Your Motorola Zoom Device

Hey guys, it's David from theunlocker.com and today we're going to show you how to do something with the new Motorola Zoom so you probably have seen the commercials for where they show the video calling and the video conferencing through g-talk well today we're going to show you how to do just that okay so first up obviously on the zoom itself you have to go to the Google talk application and sign in.

You'll notice that here on the side certain people have green dots red dots microphones orange microphones and all other sorts of symbols to do a video chat they have to have a green little video camera thing that lets you know that they have the ability to have video chat if they don't they just have a microphone you can use that means you can call them or talk to them but you can't actually see them so the question is how do you get the other person if they don't also have a Motorola Zoom to be able to have that video symbol so that you guys can video chat and that's we're going to show you right now.

To find out who has this ability, you'll need to check their Google Talk profile. The people who have the green little video camera thing next to their name are the ones who can do video chat with you if they also have a Motorola Zoom device. On the other hand, if they just have a microphone, you can still call or talk to them but you won't be able to see them.

So, how do you find out which people on your Google Talk list can do video chat? Well, this is where things get a little tricky because it's not just about having the Motorola Zoom device itself. What matters most is whether they have a compatible browser that supports the latest version of Google Talk's video chat feature. In other words, they need to have a newer browser such as Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer, or Safari for Mac OS 10.

So, if you want to check who on your list can do video chat with you and you also have the Motorola Zoom device, here's what you need to do: go to Google.com/chat/slash/video and click on the "Install Video and Voice Chat" button. This will install the necessary feature on their computer once they've clicked that button.

Now, let's take a look at how this works in real life. Let's say we want to video chat with someone who also has a Motorola Zoom device. The first step is to go to either our Gmail account or igoogle.com (which is Google's little home page). Once you log in, you'll see on the left-hand side of your screen "Chat" with your own name and then "Friends" that all have the ability to video chat.

We'll click on one of those friends' names who has the green little video camera thing next to their name, which means they can do video chat. When we click on them, a little chat box will pop up over here, where we can type messages using Google Talk or push the "Call" button to start a voice chat.

To start a video chat with this person, you'll need to click on the "Video" button next to their name in the chat box. This will make your Motorola Zoom device ring, and if they answer, you'll be able to see each other's video feeds. And that's it! You can now have a video chat with someone who also has a Motorola Zoom device.

To summarize, having a compatible browser is essential for doing video chat with Google Talk on the Motorola Zoom device. If your friend doesn't have this feature installed on their computer, they'll need to click on the "Install Video and Voice Chat" button on the Google.com/chat/slash/video page before you can start video chatting with them.

Once your friend has installed the necessary feature, you can simply go to either their Gmail account or igoogle.com, log in, and click on their name to initiate a chat.
