"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: entoday's video is sponsored by the new paperlike with nanodots which makes writing or drawing with any apple pencil on any ipad feel more like paper hey it's chris another day another ipad pro accessories video except this one is going to be extra awesome because i got some really great finds here i'm going to start off with a new stylus that's more than meets the eye this is the apple pencil version 2. it's great i love it it's capable it's minimal but this is a new stylus from adonit that actually doubles as a mouse for your ipad seriously so here's what this looks like you got your end that you write with and then over here you actually have a sensor that's going to act as your mouse sensor i'll show you how that works in a second you got a place to charge it right here over here you have a mode indicator button a status light that can turn blue or green depending on what mode you're in then you have a couple of buttons here this is your power button and it's going to let you switch to tablet mode and then over here you have a mouse button which is really awesome not only can you use that as a scroll wheel but it also doubles as your left and right mouse buttons so let's just test out the tablet mode first and see how it works as an actual stylus to write with and then we'll get to the mouse because i know that's the exciting part but let's open up notes here and let's just say hey it's chris what else did you expect you know so you know this writes okay it's really light and this has a little more heft to it it's a little weightier and i actually i like that about the apple pencil but this is nice one thing i noticed though is that it doesn't have the sensor that allows you to tilt and actually shade like you would a pencil it always remains just this one stroke and then of course because you have these physical buttons here that allow you to do some things that the apple pencil can't you don't have that capacitive touch sensor so you can't double tap to quickly access the eraser for instance okay so i'm going to switch into mouse mode by tapping on the top mouse button oh i think i've been using this wrong i thought you laid it flat you actually use it like this oh whoa that is game changing okay so let's uh try this again oh wow okay so i'm scrolling so it does have the built-in magnet so you can store it on your ipad but i don't think you can charge it that way that's not as convenient as the apple pencil but it says that as a stylist you're going to get 10 hours of use and as a mouse you're going to get five hours of use so it may be something that you almost need to charge every day depending on what you do i'm actually finding that holding it like this is more precise for moving the cursor around but it's not as easy to scroll with with your finger so clicking works really well still you know if you click on something to launch it here's how i edit apple hype in squarespace there which is not a sponsor uh and then you can right click so this is cool this is unlike anything that i've seen out there because look if you're a mobile ipad pro user you don't want to pack up a bunch of bulk every time you're going to the coffee shop or to a meeting or to class and something like the logitech mx master that is going to take up a lot more room in your bag than this all right so let's switch back uh so switch back you click the power button and now i'm able to scroll around like this um so really it it functions more or less like a finger but yeah i feel like this really isn't for the artists out there if you're gonna be doing any kind of art then you're gonna be stuck with one you know stroke width for your ink and that's just too bad i enjoy riding with this this feels like more of a professional more precise tool it's more convenient to be able to charge and keep it here so you don't lose it all at the same time i could see certain people really liking this you know there's something to it i think there is somebody out there who would really really like this and you probably know who you are so again i'm gonna link it up down below if you need to do a little research all right this is the next item i got for you guys you might be wondering what the heck is that well it's a keyboard case with a track pad that costs less than a hundred dollars then i've gotten a lot of requests from people to review to check out what's so special about it well basically it's kind of got that laptop feel to it so if you stick your ipad in here it's kind of like the bridge keyboard in that way it looks very much like a laptop would look yeah you still kind of end up with that same laptop range of motion you can stick your apple pencil up here in the holder that's very convenient but more importantly it has an rgb backlit keyboard yes that's right if you have been missing out on the rgb life because you're an apple user and you're not a gamer but you want those lights now a couple of things i'm gonna say the looks are okay at least from this angle you know the back is kind of your hard shell case and you know it looks okay from the front though i think it looks pretty nice i will say that it's not super heavy on the bottom it feels a little top-heavy you know it feels like this could almost flip over if you're not careful i was playing around with this a little bit before this video started i got to tell you the trackpad isn't amazing it's nothing like the ipad pro's magic keyboard the official keyboard it's also nothing like the logitech you know the logitech's nowhere near as nice as the magic keyboard and this is nowhere near as nice as the logitech so that should tell you a little bit right there still it is usable i mean you want to get work done you can do it with this also i have tap to click enabled but let me come in here and do some typing so i'm gonna write a little story for you guys right on the spot hold on this is gonna be good once upon a time there was an i.t director and he hated his job so what did he do he started a blog in his free time that blog was called daily tech one day google updated its search engine algorithm and daily tags traffic all but disappeared so what did the i.t director turn blogger do he started a youtube channel with the same name and that's the same youtube channel that you're watching right now award winning i realize here's the thing this type's okay it's not stellar could i use this could i get buying it let's say i'm actually serious about this keyboard because i really like the looks and the rgb keyboard yeah i could use this if i was a student and i wanted to save some money and i wanted something with some you know a little bit of a different style or feel to it aesthetically than what i saw everybody else on campus having then yeah i mean you could do your work on this i have noticed though that some of the multi-touch gestures work and some don't you know like i can't swipe up with three fingers to access the home screen what does work at least most of the time is two fingers to swipe left to right i guess it comes down to are those rgb lights worth it and right now i'm gonna switch to some b-roll of those lights so you can see how good they look they don't animate or anything like that so that might be a little disappointing you know on the bottom you do get these laptop like soft rubbery feet and you do get some pretty decent protection with this i mean if you dropped it there isn't any padding or cushioning really it's just a hard shell that fits on here so i feel like it's really more scratch protection than drop protection but still i suppose that's better than nothing you guys asked me to review it and i'm just gonna say you know it's interesting it's cool it's different someone out there again may like it i'll leave the link for you to research but probably i would steer you guys away from it probably i got something else in the mail it's from editor's keys i don't know if you guys know who that is the company but they make these keyboard covers for the mac is the only time i've ever seen them before but they came out with a keyboard cover here that's for ipad pro users specifically for this magic keyboard here so that if i'm editing and what is right now the most professional video editing tool on the ipad lumafusion i don't have to wonder what all the different keyboard shortcuts are i can just lay this on top of the keys and look and have a visual reference i mean doesn't this just look more pro already first thing i'm curious about is whether i can shut this and use it and it looks like i definitely can i don't see any issues i don't see it sticking out or anything like that it closed just perfectly so that's great you could actually keep this on and then look when i open it up it doesn't stick to the top or anything of course i do have that paper like on so i don't know if that would affect that or not but i pretty much know all the final cut pro shortcuts that i need to know on the mac side of things but i need to spend more time editing here on the ipad pro my videos and getting into the workflow and this is going to be so useful and so helpful all right so if i drag some media in here just to see what this looks like let's see i don't know how to cut in lumafusion because it's been a while since i used it but i see right here b for blade i guess that makes sense cut wow i can just stare at this actually and learn a lot like how to undo and redo it's not just command z oh i didn't realize that jk and l controlled the playback if you're into video editing on the ipad and you're just getting into it you're a beginner or even if you're a pro you know sometimes even in final cut which i'm really well versed in on the mac i just forget things you know if there's that one function that you haven't used in like three and a half months and you know it exists but you don't remember how to get it and then you go and you google how to do whatever well this could save you a lot of time even if you're a pro you know and you know how to do stuff too all right well the next thing i got to show you guys is this this is a mic it's called the mic plus and it's from a company called apogee who makes really high quality professional microphones this is a microphone for your mobile content creator and i'm going to consider you a mobile content creator if you're using an iphone if you're using an ipad as your main creation device i just had somebody ask me just the other day hey can you make a video about how to podcast with your ipad well this is a big piece of that puzzle this particular mic is perfect for podcasting on your ipad it comes with a number of different cables so right now i have the usbc version which is going to plug into my ipad pro but if you have a different type of connector you know if you're going to plug this into your iphone which you can do there's a lightning connector you know so it's really set up for whoever you are but this is a cardioid pattern mic which means it's going to pick up stuff over here in this general direction so if you've got a noisy cat or dog barking over there you know a room over and you don't want that to show up and in your music or your podcast or whatever you're recording then this is a great option all right so here's what it looks like when it's set up next to the ipad pro and i guess i would angle this over here if i wanted that to actually face towards me and then what i'm going to do is open up ferrite pro which is an amazing app for recording audio all right let's do a little test here okay hey it's chris and welcome to my ipad pro video microphone test with the apogee mic plus what do you guys think of the audio i like the controls that i get here there's a button if i want to quickly change how this is working there's a button where i can dial up or down different settings and what's really cool i'm going to mess up my hair doing this is i can plug in some headphones with a real live headphone jack which i don't have on the ipad pro anymore by default all right test test test all right so what i love about this is that it has this dial on the front where i can crank it up or crank it down i can see in ferrite pro let me crank this up a little bit test test test test it turned red that's because it started clipping the audio so i can turn that down and dial it in for the perfect sound this is a small mic which is good because in a way you know it's more portable if you're a musician you're gonna pack up and go do something and take your ipad and take this it might as well be as portable as possible right or if you're a podcast you're going to set up and interview somebody and you're going to have them here and you're going to be here and this is going to capture you both then yeah you need something that's a little bit small also it stays out of the way you know it's not blocking the camera you know something like this you bring that into the picture and this is big it's going to be blocking you know certain camera angles or something it depends how you're gonna do it but this being nice and compact and having such a rich nice good sound for like 130 dollars i think is what it retails for this is professional now you also could get this for a work from home zoom upgrade as well so if you're still doing a bunch of zoom meetings with people maybe it's for class maybe it is for work and you want to upgrade how you sound and how you present yourself to people then this could also be a super solid work from home upgrade now guess what if you are working from home i got something else for you guys this is a special work from home bundle from lytra which makes some camera lights that you can use for lighting in your videos or photos and it's really built for mobile photography or mobile videography but what they did is they said let's create a package that has a built-in kickstand here a tripod so that people can set this up next to their ipad or next to their mac and better light themselves for their conferences for their videos you can probably tell that it does make a difference on your face lighting is absolutely key if you have bad lighting or bad audio then whatever it is that you're creating is going to be noticeably worse let's say you want to do a video podcast right that's becoming all the rage and by the way you know unashamed plug here you can check out the daily tag after party which is a video podcast for this channel it comes out every friday but that's neither here nor there then you're gonna want to do a few things number one have a good crispy camera to work with and that could honestly just be your iphone or your ipad right number two you want really good audio and how do you do that if you just have an ipad you can use the internal microphones which are very nice actually they sound very good i think in order i like the mics on the 16-inch macbook pro and then the mics on this slash the new imac but they're good but they're not as good as an external mic so that's a huge huge boost to your professionalism the other thing that you need is really good lighting because lighting makes a big difference a lot of people forget about one of these elements these are the tools for the ipad pro that can help you take your creativity to the next level if you own an apple pencil or are looking to get one soon then check out today's sponsor paperlike with nanodots which is an accessory that makes it feel and sound more like you're using real paper when you're working with an apple pencil one of my favorite things about paperlike with nanodots is that it's much clearer to watch movies and view content even when you're not drawing or writing but of course paper like actually gives you more control when you are writing or drawing thanks to the paper-like resistance that it offers and yeah it really makes a difference plus it reduces glare and fingerprints and who wouldn't want that when you place your order for paper like with nanodots you'll get two paper light covers plus application accessories along with free worldwide shipping and a 100 satisfaction guarantee you can get your own paper like with nanodots using the link down in the description all right that's gonna do it for this video i hope you guys liked it and found it useful i will link all this stuff up down in the description so you can go check it out do your own research and see if there's anything worth buying i will also link up some of the old episodes which i say oh they're just previous you know there's current things in there that you're gonna love and use so if you haven't seen it if you're new around here go check out those previous ipad pro accessories videos because they're also awesome don't forget you can check out our podcast the after party i just mentioned it and don't forget you can check out applehype.com every day monday through friday there's a good recommendation for a new app a new accessory sometimes ipad accessories but for all your apple stuff and the one apple headline that you have to check out every day monday through friday other than that i'm at daily tech spell daily tekk on instagram and twitter and i'll catch you guys in the next videotoday's video is sponsored by the new paperlike with nanodots which makes writing or drawing with any apple pencil on any ipad feel more like paper hey it's chris another day another ipad pro accessories video except this one is going to be extra awesome because i got some really great finds here i'm going to start off with a new stylus that's more than meets the eye this is the apple pencil version here nor there then you're gonna want to do a few things number one have a good crispy camera to work with and that could honestly just be your iphone or your ipad right number two you want really good audio and how do you do that if you just have an ipad you can use the internal microphones which are very nice actually they sound very good i think in order i like the mics on the 16-inch macbook pro and then the mics on this slash the new imac but they're good but they're not as good as an external mic so that's a huge huge boost to your professionalism the other thing that you need is really good lighting because lighting makes a big difference a lot of people forget about one of these elements these are the tools for the ipad pro that can help you take your creativity to the next level if you own an apple pencil or are looking to get one soon then check out today's sponsor paperlike with nanodots which is an accessory that makes it feel and sound more like you're using real paper when you're working with an apple pencil one of my favorite things about paperlike with nanodots is that it's much clearer to watch movies and view content even when you're not drawing or writing but of course paper like actually gives you more control when you are writing or drawing thanks to the paper-like resistance that it offers and yeah it really makes a difference plus it reduces glare and fingerprints and who wouldn't want that when you place your order for paper like with nanodots you'll get two paper light covers plus application accessories along with free worldwide shipping and a 100 satisfaction guarantee you can get your own paper like with nanodots using the link down in the description all right that's gonna do it for this video i hope you guys liked it and found it useful i will link all this stuff up down in the description so you can go check it out do your own research and see if there's anything worth buying i will also link up some of the old episodes which i say oh they're just previous you know there's current things in there that you're gonna love and use so if you haven't seen it if you're new around here go check out those
