My R32 Skyline Finally Blew Up...

A Stressful Morning: The Struggle is Real

It's been a stressful morning for [Name], who woke up to find out that his RV had broken down again. Typically, there would be some type of issue with the RV, and this morning was no exception. Despite being prepared for the worst, [Name] couldn't help but feel frustrated as he listened to the sounds coming from inside.

The Problem is a Broken Crank

Upon closer inspection, it became apparent that the problem was indeed a broken crank. This wasn't the first time the crank had broken, and it was clear that there was an issue with how it was being used. [Name] explained that he had been using a standard balancer, which is not typically known for breaking easily. However, in this case, the crank had simply given up.

A Harmonic Problem?

As [Name] delved deeper into the problem, he discovered that there might be a harmonic problem with the way it was being used. The RV's engine is designed to run smoothly, but when not under load and suddenly stopped, it can cause vibrations that put excessive stress on certain components. In this case, it seemed that the snout of the crank had snapped due to these vibrations.

A Look Back at Previous Issues

When [Name] talked about his experience with the RV's engine, he mentioned that there had been several issues in the past. These included problems with the water pump, cylinders, and other components. It was clear that the damage might have been done earlier, and it had been working its way up to this point.

The Pulley and Torque

One of the points [Name] raised was about how tight to make the pulley. He mentioned that when he first talked to him about this, they discussed using a torque spec for an RB26 engine, which is notoriously tight. However, it seemed that this might have caused stress fractures in the snout of the crank over time. The long lead block and lever bar required to achieve the correct torque made it difficult to drive the car, especially with the heavy foot required to get everything tightened down.

A Questionable Decision

The fact that [Name] had done things differently the first time around might have put stress on the snout of the crank. When he reinstalled it and put it back together, there was a possibility that it could have been the culprit for breaking again. It's clear that this is a frustrating issue to deal with, especially when trying to figure out what went wrong.

A Sad Day for the RV World

The final blow came when [Name] mentioned that his R32 had finally broken down. This is a sad day for the RV community, but it also provides an opportunity to think about what's next. [Name] wants to know what everyone thinks should be done with the engine - whether to fix it or start fresh.

The Video: A Conclusion

The video may have ended on a sour note, but [Name] is already thinking about how he can improve things for next time. Despite the frustration and sadness of this experience, there's always something to learn from these setbacks.

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enme so we welded the downpipes uh already so now they're not finalized in position yet because i want to finalize this before i do any welding on this to make it easier to finish this section right um as you see here same scenario as the cool side we don't have an expander to spend this to a four inch to meet it to a four inch pipe because we're doing a four inch exhaust so uh the easiest solution is to use a piece of titanium and make it like that weld it but before i weld the i'll you know cut that out and then i'll do the same for the other side um i thought of many different ways to make this happen or but i think that's the best way because it keeps the pipe center through the downpipes yeah because if i go up two meter to the bottom so it's one feet then the top will hit the car and if i go down then i have the opposite problem where the sauce will hang too low um so that's the best route um this car is not going to be slammed so this downpour is actually sits just about the same height as the other one did that came with the car and it is bigger so that's good on the exhaust i have more play to make a route wetter and better in the car now we're just gonna cut the other side match it do the same thing the other side then figure out in what order i want to weld it so i'll probably drill a hole there find a way to cut this out remove that out tag everything really good and then weld it clean it well the remove this beaver and this is just i put this big one there and tacked it just to keep this side of the pipe round as much as possible no warping right because if it warps then i well all this and then when i go to put the other side of the pipe here it will not meet together that well um there's ways to put them together clamp him and attack him in many places but it's best to use something like this to keep it round and true so it makes it easier once it comes to because i'm gonna put this comes out of the car like that and this is gonna get taken off and then this is gonna be like a 45 here that's where this class is gonna go after the 45 and yeah ah welcome to today's video guys it's been a stressful day or so hi jimmy's still here has it been a stressful day am i making a strategy he's been making it so much better love the energy adam well what's happening today tell them what's happening because this is exciting michael put some uh some b-roll in here but we did diagnose and fix the timing issue where one of the cams was a tooth off so we're gonna shoot over the titan dyno uh freddie's gonna kind of throw it on and tweak everything just make sure fueling and all the timing stuff still makes sense it'll be interesting to see how the curve varies now that the timing on the car is correct and it seems like the throttle response issue is solved as well um jimmy can i show it i love this car this thing is so sick i'm pumped for jimmy this is why he came to florida not to hang out with me just to pick up uh beautiful s14 caulky with the sr that doesn't have a turbo and looks kind of funny you're still knocking me for that one huh just you wait kid i should wait uh but anyway um yeah so we're gonna head over to the titan dyno go rip over there hopefully get this thing down because i want to give you some rips in it later because it's a fun car yeah so 38 pounds of boost 70 million in the gate yeah thank you for calling oh one why is this so exciting tell them it runs better well not only that freddy's never tuned this car with the timing accurate every time he's tuned it's been a tooth off and the the trigger sensors were too close to the gear yeah so i didn't bring freddy a perfect car before but hopefully it's closer to perfect now and we'll see how that affects the graph yeah hopefully she does a little better so freddie if this is what the graph looked like and technically the exhaust cam was a little bit advanced by one tooth what do you predict to see a change in this graph should pick up a little bit top end and maybe lose a little bit of spool really actually know the other way around so we'll lose top end it's weird because on the spool up the intake cam is advanced 20 degrees due to vct but then you would want to your exhaust cam just pull the turbo increase overlap and spool the turbo but that's fighting you on the spool up it should be hurting our spool up but then up top it might be i don't know up top to be honest i need to just see what it does all right i work off of like real life scenarios and that's how i get my information i get all mine from the forums you ever heard of sylvia so now okay i can see freddy adding fuel up top which indicates to me that it's more efficient up top and needs more fuel to make more power up top which would be happy because we like it on top we were actually having a voltage issue up top um the belt for the alternators wasn't tight enough so freddie thinks it was just slipping at higher pumps we're gonna tighten that up give her another rip yeah uh above around 5000 rpm the voltage starts to tank under battery voltage so like 11 5 11 8 volts and um so the belt's slipping on the alternator or on the crank pulley we tried maxing out the alternator all the way out to get the bell as tight as possible which i know is bad you can you know over tightening a belt is bad but we're just trying different things but um we took the belt off adam is running to the store and he's uh getting a new belt and um i'm cleaning all of the rubber debris out of the crank grooves there's a lot of groove there's a lot of rubber in the grooves right here yeah there is quite a bit yeah might be hard to pick up on camera but my fingers are dirty but like that's a small little chunk right there yeah you know that could definitely contribute to its slipping fun fact i i see that now but before i thought it was a catch can making the smoke but now i realize it's just a rubber doing a burnout that's a real way cheaper way to do a burnout instead of tires i'm burning belts yeah i brought mike's sour patch kids i'm so happy also i just drove titan's ecoboost van the most fun i've ever had driving a van i don't know what the tommy's doing with his van he needs one of those that thing rips it's like it feels like it's like an sr with like a t20 on it because you just touch the throttle like listen guys jimmy's a really good friend of mine and i've really been trying to show him a lot of love on the channel but i think i think he dildoed my build there's one wire that jimmy unplugged a fuse on and like you know i thought i could trust jimmy i'm plugging a fuse but now it's melting jimmy's the only one that touched it you me dude come on jimmy so this car is fighting us as always we don't know what this shoe is we ran out of time any ideas no nothing's changed we've done 700 wheel on the same fuel system and now we can barely touch 600 out of dropping i am so distraught we'll figure it out so no matter what this car won't come right it won't rub right we're down to thinking that it's a hardware issue and freddie doesn't like my harness from japan that's been cut and spliced five million times so uh i think today i'm gonna hit up wiring specialties and just get a new harness for this car and hopefully that will resolve some of the gremlins that are going on um because right now it seems like there's hope for wide open but it just doesn't want to respond to revs huh they rip better with itbs but i think itvs fought me and i was able to make them work somewhat decent but it's it's not happy it's weird because usually it's all the way around my tvs are harder to tune and then like a single throttle body should be easier but maybe the itvs are easy to tune but you just brought me a car with problems well no i think we were tuning around issues with that okay so we're gonna go do a test hit and make sure the fuel pressure situation is resolved i had a really dirty fuel filter maybe from the car sitting for a while um but clean that out and we'll see is jimmy making how-tos with my 350z yo how clean is that engine bag i think it's clean ready was enough to cause that issue yeah up top you figured you would see it in other areas too but i guess just because i'm so over pumped i'll turn the boost up a hair on the way back okay there it feels like 11 6 the hallway sounds good see my hand go up a little okay ready this thing sounds so cool i love how it's just barely spinning too pressure was good probably what like 620 wheel right here okay right around there that was 32 pounds 35 on the hit at 32 it's quite a bit yeah the fuel pressure i left my normal camera at home so i'm going to be vlogging on the gopro for this dyno session what we found i think i already explained to you guys that we had a really clogged fuel filter so we got that resolved and then we also tried changing the fuel pressure regulator we had a very big one on this car and a lot of times the throttle response issues if you have way too big of a fuel pressure regulator it can kind of cause some issues so we switched to a small run and it seemed to have fixed issues with that so now it's just kind of cleaning up the power poles and we can dial in the rest on the street we're just curious what the difference is going to be now that the timing is correct on this car since freddie's never tuned it with the timing mechanically actually correct so first low boost pull to make sure everything's okay one other thing that we did differently we actually ran a power wire directly from the battery to the ecu so now the voltage that the ecu is seeing is a lot more stable and accurate or before we would kind of get weird swings it was reading about a volt lower at wide open pulls which kind of affects some stuff when it comes to injector and dwell settings so i think there's a lot of positive changes that were made last night that we're going to see both on the dyno graph and with drivability that didn't sound good i started filming really late is that my engine it had oil pressure when i shut it off oh you turned you turned it off yeah i i okay soon as i heard that it i know it over boosted a little bit more than i usually ran did it hit a boost cut no the deuce cuts turned up higher than that it doesn't seem like we sent a rod through the block so see if it runs so we don't have any compression anymore good luck so we don't think that it blew up per se but when you start it it's not turning the engine over at all which leads me to think that there's maybe an issue where the timing gear broke or some sort of woodruff key broke um which is a common thing but it's weird to happen on a dyno on a pull like that but i don't i mean let's just say hypothetically that happened and the car lost timing um it's not an interference engine or these are interference it is interference so then the motors probably toast and we probably have bent valves at the bare minimum got it i had a good oil pressure there in the past everything on here looked good so i don't know if like like the crank broke or something broke hmm we'll see all right so what we know with the car so far is when we turn the starter it does turn the rear wheels but it doesn't turn anything with the engine so it seems like something crankshaft related broke maybe timing gear related but it's weird that then just not building any compression for you to explain if we bent valves that would make sense what i'm wondering if is related to this is after the dyno yesterday when we were running into some issues the car on the road had a very weird vibration that to me felt like some sort of drive train related issue because it was when you were kind of under load and let off and that middle zone um there was like kind of like a weird harmonic vibration but i figured it was axles or driveshaft or something like that but now it's leading me to think maybe it was something crankshaft related i don't know if crank walk is a thing on these or if maybe i don't think it would be a bearing about to go because we didn't really have a catastrophic failure maybe something tommy really did freddie is crank walk a thing on our bees yeah i'm not sure so we're gonna pull a plug out and see if the pistons are moving up and down and see if i still have any pistons left but definitely not good looks fine right yeah it doesn't look like it's seen how many marks are in the middle of the apex that's good the number one piston is moving up and down he cranks but the crank pulley isn't moving so maybe like the timing gear broke huh and then we bend valves and that's why we have no compression one second and then crank again what we're leaning towards right now is if the woodruff key broke on the timing gear which ironically is what we thought was wrong the last time it was just a timing issue maybe between the acceleration and deceleration phase it kind of was walking about a little bit but it's still confusing freddie we were so close to getting this thing running perfect today this car is all in one boner killer boner tees and it blue balls you yeah yeah big sad it works and it doesn't work then it works and then when it's working the best it's ever worked it does this such a bummer this is comparing wastegate to wastegate you can see by the time we corrected we did pick up a bit of mid-range um however obviously we weren't able to finish tuning with more boost but i think this is around like 24 pounds or so so i put a ratchet on the crank and it appears as if everything is intact in terms of because everything up here is turning i'm cooperating but i don't think the pistons are moving and i think i think we broke the whole snout of the crank i wonder what causes that we gotta we gotta facetime andrew hawkins later and see what he says maybe that's a common thing and it was just a matter of time but big sads we need a we need like um like a really sad small violent montage of the r32's best moments mike because this me and freddie are talking this engine has seen hell and back it has been the most mid-range rv probably in existence to survive without a block brace and did not have any like major issues and constantly no lift shift being beat on at like 600 wheel with super high iats and just being abused to sh and it's been happy this whole time and it the it almost feels defeated that i the end of it is a broken crankshaft and not something more catastrophic yeah it's pretty depressing that that broke and the worst thing is i had a spare crank but i ended up using the spare crank in this car because the keyway on the last one broke so i don't know if we're going to resurrect this engine in stock crank form uh i am working on a 2 8 crank that i was going to pair with that other head that i have um but i was hoping to be able to enjoy this car in the meantime but looks like she might be going back to the graveyard oh oh yeah i did a little research real quick and it does appear as if there is a common issue with the balancer that i'm running on this causing small vibrations in the crankshaft snapping um i've never had an issue with it before maybe it was on its last leg and just removing it putting it back on just kind of made it think that it was time to go but i guess we'll only know when we start playing this park now i got a question for you guys there's two ways we can go about this i do have a two weight crank on the way um however i do believe prp is out of stock of their block braces i was planning to kind of build a bulletproof bottom end with an rb 25 block a 2 8 crank prp block brace and maybe even a little bit of concrete in it um but that could be as long as three to four months out depending on the prp burst availability so i could do that and i could wait and just do it right off the bat with that badass head that i have or uh i do have parts laying around pretty much enough to assemble the exact same engine that i had so um salvage whatever pistons and rods are still there re-ring it put it in a new block with another replacement stock crank um and then swap all the parts over from this head to a new head that won't have bent valves or possibly damaged seats um so those are the two options you guys want to see this car brought back to life in its current form or would you rather just wait a while and then just have it be kind of a bit more nutty and the reason why i'm asking this is i'm kind of on the fence about it i kind of want to just put it on the back burner since the car doesn't serve a real purpose and then we can put that time into getting the r34 done rather than constantly getting distracted by these little things so that might be what we do i don't know i'm torn i'm on the fence about it but i want to hear what you guys think regardless we're going to take this thing back to the shop see if we can visually see with our own eyes the broken crankshaft now we shouldn't need the pulley puller if our hypothesis is correct oh yeah yeah i don't know if it'll come off my hand though yeah i wonder if it's like being trapped by the uh yeah by the belt yeah but i found the crank's broken it might have broken internally yeah between like the oil pump and number one main i just really want to like put on a little stand as like a display of pride that's impressive i know dude like for everything else to hold up in that break oh boy i'm curious to look at the balancer so i think the balancer was vibrating around but the keyboard isn't like that damaged no it doesn't oh i'll probably need a new trigger kit huh i think the crank mirror broken inside the inside i'm going to facetime andrew from motive dvd real quick and see if this is a common thing or why he thinks this happened because we're still a little bit stumped i think i might have to do something with crank pulley but we'll find out yo what's up bro just relaxing on a saturday morning for once instead of an event i wish i was relaxing but this is a stressful day if i've had a message from you when i woke up in the morning usually there's some type of rv issue that's true so uh any guesses before i tell you what happened well based on the last phone call and it's a problem trying to find issues with it i take it you're either no you're not smiling enough for me so it's probably broken yeah that's broken what did you do what happened so see this guy down here yeah can you see that how did you do it this time it's not the first time you've had broken keyways and no the whole crank broke the whole crank you broke a crank is that a common thing yes but no it's it's not common to the point of your seat every week but it's certainly not the first broken crankcaster and it's it's usually the same reason for all of them he's just they either break down a harmonic problem with from using a standard balancer and just being too hard on it or just sometimes just tuned driving talk of what it's used for can just break a sometimes basically the day before this we're on the dyno and on the drive home on d cell we felt a weird vibration then in my mind now i think was a the snout bent or something to do with uh vibration in the front under certain weird circumstances when it's not under load and then today like just midway through a pole not even like at full power um it just went boom boom and then clicked the starter and the starter still connected to the wheels turns the pistons up and down but doesn't turn the cams turn the pulley and the pulley turns the cams but doesn't turn the pistons yeah that's um the way that you've broken that crank does kind of sound a bit strange and i know you like you you make sure you keep it on things you actually like do everything you can to make sure they're set up in tune properly for you to break the cranks would be a bit strange but it certainly does happen um and sometimes it can just be bad luck with an oem crank and well the damage may have been done earlier like you know how many problems have you chased with that engine everything from water and cylinders and you know all sorts of other things to who knows when the damage was done and then it's been working its way but to completely snap a crank and have the snout section snap he's um like i said it could just be terribly bad luck yeah so the only the only thing that we are all kind of iffy about is remember when i talked to you about how tight to do the pulley and how the rb 25 is like much less tight than rb26 i think the first time we did this pulley we did it to the rb 26 spec which is technically way over torqued because i feel like we had a massive a massive bar on it and it just for whatever reason it worked then and then when we took it off and then put it on now at the correct rb25 torque maybe that's what caused it you may have just caused the stress fractions from doing it over time because the rb26 ohms are insane tight light up everyone who hears that the first time always goes how tight and you have to get a giant lever bar and have someone in the car and 50 with their foot upgrade to get it tight enough and it's you actually can't do it without the correct long lead block massively long lever bar and torque wrench so the fact that you did at that time the first time you may have put a stress fracture through the snout of it and then when you've undone it and put it back to normal maybe potentially yes okay until we see the crank it's hard to tell but that certainly could have done it well there you go but anyway it's a sad day for the rv world here something really small but at least a problem i guess well you're not looking for the problem anymore yeah well anyway man sorry to bug you in the morning but i thought it'd be funny to let you know let me know what you want to do sounds good man take care all right bye bye all right guys it is a sad end to the r32 but i'm very curious to see what you guys think we should do with it and what route you think we should take if we should wait do the crazy engine or throw it back together so it's running in the meantime it's sad but it is what it is i hope you guys enjoyed the video i know it was up a little late but we wanted to get some good results and fortunately the video was closed out in a bad way but we did our best we'll get it back together better than ever hope you like this video make sure to like it we'll see you soon thank youme so we welded the downpipes uh already so now they're not finalized in position yet because i want to finalize this before i do any welding on this to make it easier to finish this section right um as you see here same scenario as the cool side we don't have an expander to spend this to a four inch to meet it to a four inch pipe because we're doing a four inch exhaust so uh the easiest solution is to the throttle response issues if you have way too big of a fuel pressure regulator it can kind of cause some issues so we switched to a small run and it seemed to have fixed issues with that so now it's just kind of cleaning up the power poles and we can dial in the rest on the street we're just curious what the difference is going to be now that the timing is correct on this car since freddie's never tuned it with the timing mechanically actually correct so first low boost pull to make sure everything's okay one other thing that we did differently we actually ran a power wire directly from the battery to the ecu so now the voltage that the ecu is seeing is a lot more stable and accurate or before we would kind of get weird swings it was reading about a volt lower at wide open pulls which kind of affects some stuff when it comes to injector and dwell settings so i think there's a lot of positive changes that were made last night that we're going to see both on the dyno graph and with drivability that didn't sound good i started filming really late is that my engine it had oil pressure when i shut it off oh you turned you turned it off yeah i i okay soon as i heard that it i know it over boosted a little bit more than i usually ran did it hit a boost cut no the deuce cuts turned up higher than that it doesn't seem like we sent a rod through the block so see if it runs so we don't have any compression anymore good luck so we don't think that it blew up per se but when you start it it's not turning the engine over at all which leads me to think that there's maybe an issue where the timing gear broke or some sort of woodruff key broke um which is a common thing but it's weird to happen on a dyno on a pull like that but i don't i mean let's just say hypothetically that happened and the car lost timing um it's not an interference engine or these are interference it is interference so then the motors probably toast and we probably have bent valves at the bare minimum got it i had a good oil pressure there in the past everything on here looked good so i don't know if like like the crank broke or something broke hmm we'll see all right so what we know with the car so far is when we turn the starter it does turn the rear wheels but it doesn't turn anything with the engine so it seems like something crankshaft related broke maybe timing gear related but it's weird that then just not building any compression for you to explain if we bent valves that would make sense what i'm wondering if is related to this is after the dyno yesterday when we were running into some issues the car on the road had a very weird vibration that to me felt like some sort of drive train related issue because it was when you were kind of under load and let off and that middle zone um there was like kind of like a weird harmonic vibration but i figured it was axles or driveshaft or something like that but now it's leading me to think maybe it was something crankshaft related i don't know if crank walk is a thing on these or if maybe i don't think it would be a bearing about to go because we didn't really have a catastrophic failure maybe something tommy really did freddie is crank walk a thing on our bees yeah i'm not sure so we're gonna pull a plug out and see if the pistons are moving up and down and see if i still have any pistons left but definitely not good looks fine right yeah it doesn't look like it's seen how many marks are in the middle of the apex that's good the number one piston is moving up and down he cranks but the crank pulley isn't moving so maybe like the timing gear broke huh and then we bend valves and that's why we have no compression one second and then crank again what we're leaning towards right now is if the woodruff key broke on the timing gear which ironically is what we thought was wrong the last time it was just a timing issue maybe between the acceleration and deceleration phase it kind of was walking about a little bit but it's still confusing freddie we were so close to getting this thing running perfect today this car is all in one boner killer boner tees and it blue balls you yeah yeah big sad it works and it doesn't work then it works and then when it's working the best it's ever worked it does this such a bummer this is comparing wastegate to wastegate you can see by the time we corrected we did pick up a bit of mid-range um however obviously we weren't able to finish tuning with more boost but i think this is around like 24 pounds or so so i put a ratchet on the crank and it appears as if everything is intact in terms of because everything up here is turning i'm cooperating but i don't think the pistons are moving and i think i think we broke the whole snout of the crank i wonder what causes that we gotta we gotta facetime andrew hawkins later and see what he says maybe that's a common thing and it was just a matter of time but big sads we need a we need like um like a really sad small violent montage of the r32's best moments mike because this me and freddie are talking this engine has seen hell and back it has been the most mid-range rv probably in existence to survive without a block brace and did not have any like major issues and constantly no lift shift being beat on at like 600 wheel with super high iats and just being abused to sh and it's been happy this whole time and it the it almost feels defeated that i the end of it is a broken crankshaft and not something more catastrophic yeah it's pretty depressing that that broke and the worst thing is i had a spare crank but i ended up using the spare crank in this car because the keyway on the last one broke so i don't know if we're going to resurrect this engine in stock crank form uh i am working on a 2 8 crank that i was going to pair with that other head that i have um but i was hoping to be able to enjoy this car in the meantime but looks like she might be going back to the graveyard oh oh yeah i did a little research real quick and it does appear as if there is a common issue with the balancer that i'm running on this causing small vibrations in the crankshaft snapping um i've never had an issue with it before maybe it was on its last leg and just removing it putting it back on just kind of made it think that it was time to go but i guess we'll only know when we start playing this park now i got a question for you guys there's two ways we can go about this i do have a two weight crank on the way um however i do believe prp is out of stock of their block braces i was planning to kind of build a bulletproof bottom end with an rb 25 block a 2 8 crank prp block brace and maybe even a little bit of concrete in it um but that could be as long as three to four months out depending on the prp burst availability so i could do that and i could wait and just do it right off the bat with that badass head that i have or uh i do have parts laying around pretty much enough to assemble the exact same engine that i had so um salvage whatever pistons and rods are still there re-ring it put it in a new block with another replacement stock crank um and then swap all the parts over from this head to a new head that won't have bent valves or possibly damaged seats um so those are the two options you guys want to see this car brought back to life in its current form or would you rather just wait a while and then just have it be kind of a bit more nutty and the reason why i'm asking this is i'm kind of on the fence about it i kind of want to just put it on the back burner since the car doesn't serve a real purpose and then we can put that time into getting the r34 done rather than constantly getting distracted by these little things so that might be what we do i don't know i'm torn i'm on the fence about it but i want to hear what you guys think regardless we're going to take this thing back to the shop see if we can visually see with our own eyes the broken crankshaft now we shouldn't need the pulley puller if our hypothesis is correct oh yeah yeah i don't know if it'll come off my hand though yeah i wonder if it's like being trapped by the uh yeah by the belt yeah but i found the crank's broken it might have broken internally yeah between like the oil pump and number one main i just really want to like put on a little stand as like a display of pride that's impressive i know dude like for everything else to hold up in that break oh boy i'm curious to look at the balancer so i think the balancer was vibrating around but the keyboard isn't like that damaged no it doesn't oh i'll probably need a new trigger kit huh i think the crank mirror broken inside the inside i'm going to facetime andrew from motive dvd real quick and see if this is a common thing or why he thinks this happened because we're still a little bit stumped i think i might have to do something with crank pulley but we'll find out yo what's up bro just relaxing on a saturday morning for once instead of an event i wish i was relaxing but this is a stressful day if i've had a message from you when i woke up in the morning usually there's some type of rv issue that's true so uh any guesses before i tell you what happened well based on the last phone call and it's a problem trying to find issues with it i take it you're either no you're not smiling enough for me so it's probably broken yeah that's broken what did you do what happened so see this guy down here yeah can you see that how did you do it this time it's not the first time you've had broken keyways and no the whole crank broke the whole crank you broke a crank is that a common thing yes but no it's it's not common to the point of your seat every week but it's certainly not the first broken crankcaster and it's it's usually the same reason for all of them he's just they either break down a harmonic problem with from using a standard balancer and just being too hard on it or just sometimes just tuned driving talk of what it's used for can just break a sometimes basically the day before this we're on the dyno and on the drive home on d cell we felt a weird vibration then in my mind now i think was a the snout bent or something to do with uh vibration in the front under certain weird circumstances when it's not under load and then today like just midway through a pole not even like at full power um it just went boom boom and then clicked the starter and the starter still connected to the wheels turns the pistons up and down but doesn't turn the cams turn the pulley and the pulley turns the cams but doesn't turn the pistons yeah that's um the way that you've broken that crank does kind of sound a bit strange and i know you like you you make sure you keep it on things you actually like do everything you can to make sure they're set up in tune properly for you to break the cranks would be a bit strange but it certainly does happen um and sometimes it can just be bad luck with an oem crank and well the damage may have been done earlier like you know how many problems have you chased with that engine everything from water and cylinders and you know all sorts of other things to who knows when the damage was done and then it's been working its way but to completely snap a crank and have the snout section snap he's um like i said it could just be terribly bad luck yeah so the only the only thing that we are all kind of iffy about is remember when i talked to you about how tight to do the pulley and how the rb 25 is like much less tight than rb26 i think the first time we did this pulley we did it to the rb 26 spec which is technically way over torqued because i feel like we had a massive a massive bar on it and it just for whatever reason it worked then and then when we took it off and then put it on now at the correct rb25 torque maybe that's what caused it you may have just caused the stress fractions from doing it over time because the rb26 ohms are insane tight light up everyone who hears that the first time always goes how tight and you have to get a giant lever bar and have someone in the car and 50 with their foot upgrade to get it tight enough and it's you actually can't do it without the correct long lead block massively long lever bar and torque wrench so the fact that you did at that time the first time you may have put a stress fracture through the snout of it and then when you've undone it and put it back to normal maybe potentially yes okay until we see the crank it's hard to tell but that certainly could have done it well there you go but anyway it's a sad day for the rv world here something really small but at least a problem i guess well you're not looking for the problem anymore yeah well anyway man sorry to bug you in the morning but i thought it'd be funny to let you know let me know what you want to do sounds good man take care all right bye bye all right guys it is a sad end to the r32 but i'm very curious to see what you guys think we should do with it and what route you think we should take if we should wait do the crazy engine or throw it back together so it's running in the meantime it's sad but it is what it is i hope you guys enjoyed the video i know it was up a little late but we wanted to get some good results and fortunately the video was closed out in a bad way but we did our best we'll get it back together better than ever hope you like this video make sure to like it we'll see you soon thank youme so we welded the downpipes uh already so now they're not finalized in position yet because i want to finalize this before i do any welding on this to make it easier to finish this section right um as you see here same scenario as the cool side we don't have an expander to spend this to a four inch to meet it to a four inch pipe because we're doing a four inch exhaust so uh the easiest solution is to use a piece of titanium and make it like that weld it but before i weld the i'll you know cut that out and then i'll do the same for the other side um i thought of many different ways to make this happen or but i think that's the best way because it keeps the pipe center through the downpipes yeah because if i go up two meter to the bottom so it's one feet then the top will hit the car and if i go down then i have the opposite problem where the sauce will hang too low um so that's the best route um this car is not going to be slammed so this downpour is actually sits just about the same height as the other one did that came with the car and it is bigger so that's good on the exhaust i have more play to make a route wetter and better in the car now we're just gonna cut the other side match it do the same thing the other side then figure out in what order i want to weld it so i'll probably drill a hole there find a way to cut this out remove that out tag everything really good and then weld it clean it well the remove this beaver and this is just i put this big one there and tacked it just to keep this side of the pipe round as much as possible no warping right because if it warps then i well all this and then when i go to put the other side of the pipe here it will not meet together that well um there's ways to put them together clamp him and attack him in many places but it's best to use something like this to keep it round and true so it makes it easier once it comes to because i'm gonna put this comes out of the car like that and this is gonna get taken off and then this is gonna be like a 45 here that's where this class is gonna go after the 45 and yeah ah welcome to today's video guys it's been a stressful day or so hi jimmy's still here has it been a stressful day am i making a strategy he's been making it so much better love the energy adam well what's happening today tell them what's happening because this is exciting michael put some uh some b-roll in here but we did diagnose and fix the timing issue where one of the cams was a tooth off so we're gonna shoot over the titan dyno uh freddie's gonna kind of throw it on and tweak everything just make sure fueling and all the timing stuff still makes sense it'll be interesting to see how the curve varies now that the timing on the car is correct and it seems like the throttle response issue is solved as well um jimmy can i show it i love this car this thing is so sick i'm pumped for jimmy this is why he came to florida not to hang out with me just to pick up uh beautiful s14 caulky with the sr that doesn't have a turbo and looks kind of funny you're still knocking me for that one huh just you wait kid i should wait uh but anyway um yeah so we're gonna head over to the titan dyno go rip over there hopefully get this thing down because i want to give you some rips in it later because it's a fun car yeah so 38 pounds of boost 70 million in the gate yeah thank you for calling oh one why is this so exciting tell them it runs better well not only that freddy's never tuned this car with the timing accurate every time he's tuned it's been a tooth off and the the trigger sensors were too close to the gear yeah so i didn't bring freddy a perfect car before but hopefully it's closer to perfect now and we'll see how that affects the graph yeah hopefully she does a little better so freddie if this is what the graph looked like and technically the exhaust cam was a little bit advanced by one tooth what do you predict to see a change in this graph should pick up a little bit top end and maybe lose a little bit of spool really actually know the other way around so we'll lose top end it's weird because on the spool up the intake cam is advanced 20 degrees due to vct but then you would want to your exhaust cam just pull the turbo increase overlap and spool the turbo but that's fighting you on the spool up it should be hurting our spool up but then up top it might be i don't know up top to be honest i need to just see what it does all right i work off of like real life scenarios and that's how i get my information i get all mine from the forums you ever heard of sylvia so now okay i can see freddy adding fuel up top which indicates to me that it's more efficient up top and needs more fuel to make more power up top which would be happy because we like it on top we were actually having a voltage issue up top um the belt for the alternators wasn't tight enough so freddie thinks it was just slipping at higher pumps we're gonna tighten that up give her another rip yeah uh above around 5000 rpm the voltage starts to tank under battery voltage so like 11 5 11 8 volts and um so the belt's slipping on the alternator or on the crank pulley we tried maxing out the alternator all the way out to get the bell as tight as possible which i know is bad you can you know over tightening a belt is bad but we're just trying different things but um we took the belt off adam is running to the store and he's uh getting a new belt and um i'm cleaning all of the rubber debris out of the crank grooves there's a lot of groove there's a lot of rubber in the grooves right here yeah there is quite a bit yeah might be hard to pick up on camera but my fingers are dirty but like that's a small little chunk right there yeah you know that could definitely contribute to its slipping fun fact i i see that now but before i thought it was a catch can making the smoke but now i realize it's just a rubber doing a burnout that's a real way cheaper way to do a burnout instead of tires i'm burning belts yeah i brought mike's sour patch kids i'm so happy also i just drove titan's ecoboost van the most fun i've ever had driving a van i don't know what the tommy's doing with his van he needs one of those that thing rips it's like it feels like it's like an sr with like a t20 on it because you just touch the throttle like listen guys jimmy's a really good friend of mine and i've really been trying to show him a lot of love on the channel but i think i think he dildoed my build there's one wire that jimmy unplugged a fuse on and like you know i thought i could trust jimmy i'm plugging a fuse but now it's melting jimmy's the only one that touched it you me dude come on jimmy so this car is fighting us as always we don't know what this shoe is we ran out of time any ideas no nothing's changed we've done 700 wheel on the same fuel system and now we can barely touch 600 out of dropping i am so distraught we'll figure it out so no matter what this car won't come right it won't rub right we're down to thinking that it's a hardware issue and freddie doesn't like my harness from japan that's been cut and spliced five million times so uh i think today i'm gonna hit up wiring specialties and just get a new harness for this car and hopefully that will resolve some of the gremlins that are going on um because right now it seems like there's hope for wide open but it just doesn't want to respond to revs huh they rip better with itbs but i think itvs fought me and i was able to make them work somewhat decent but it's it's not happy it's weird because usually it's all the way around my tvs are harder to tune and then like a single throttle body should be easier but maybe the itvs are easy to tune but you just brought me a car with problems well no i think we were tuning around issues with that okay so we're gonna go do a test hit and make sure the fuel pressure situation is resolved i had a really dirty fuel filter maybe from the car sitting for a while um but clean that out and we'll see is jimmy making how-tos with my 350z yo how clean is that engine bag i think it's clean ready was enough to cause that issue yeah up top you figured you would see it in other areas too but i guess just because i'm so over pumped i'll turn the boost up a hair on the way back okay there it feels like 11 6 the hallway sounds good see my hand go up a little okay ready this thing sounds so cool i love how it's just barely spinning too pressure was good probably what like 620 wheel right here okay right around there that was 32 pounds 35 on the hit at 32 it's quite a bit yeah the fuel pressure i left my normal camera at home so i'm going to be vlogging on the gopro for this dyno session what we found i think i already explained to you guys that we had a really clogged fuel filter so we got that resolved and then we also tried changing the fuel pressure regulator we had a very big one on this car and a lot of times the throttle response issues if you have way too big of a fuel pressure regulator it can kind of cause some someone in the car and 50 with their foot upgrade to get it tight enough and it's you actually can't do it without the correct long lead block massively long lever bar and torque wrench so the fact that you did at that time the first time you may have put a stress fracture through the snout of it and then when you've undone it and put it back to normal maybe potentially yes okay until we see the crank it's hard to tell but that certainly could have done it well there you go but anyway it's a sad day for the rv world here something really small but at least a problem i guess well you're not looking for the problem anymore yeah well anyway man sorry to bug you in the morning but i thought it'd be funny to let you know let me know what you want to do sounds good man take care all right bye bye all right guys it is a sad end to the r32 but i'm very curious to see what you guys think we should do with it and what route you think we should take if we should wait do the crazy engine or throw it back together so it's running in the meantime it's sad but it is what it is i hope you guys enjoyed the video i know it was up a little late but we wanted to get some good results and fortunately the video was closed out in a bad way but we did our best we'll get it back together better than ever hope you like this video make sure to like it we'll see you soon thank you\n"
