**A Review of the Remix Tablet: A Solid Android Option**
The Remix Tablet is an Android device that caught my attention during its Kickstarter campaign, and I was excited to put it through its paces. The tablet's design and build quality are definitely one of its strongest features. The metallic finish gives it a premium feel, and the kickstand provides a sturdy base for watching videos or browsing the web.
One of the first things that stood out to me when I turned on the Remix Tablet was the screen. It's a decent size at 10.1 inches, but it's not too big. The display itself is crisp and clear, with good color accuracy. The speakers are also a pleasant surprise - they're not as loud as some other tablets I've used, but they're more than adequate for watching videos or browsing the web.
The camera on the Remix Tablet is another area where it shines. There's a front-facing webcam and a rear camera with a microphone, making it perfect for video calls or taking photos. The tablet also has a USB-C port and a microSD card slot, which gives you plenty of options for expanding storage.
**Performance and Benchmarking**
When it comes to performance, the Remix Tablet holds its own. I ran some benchmarks to see how it would do in terms of graphics rendering and processing power. The Unreal Citadel score was impressive at 41 frames per second on ultra high quality, and the Ice Storm Unlimited score of 2,537 is right up there with other Android tablets.
I also threw the tablet at a game, "Dishonored," to see how it would perform in terms of gaming. To my surprise, the Remix Tablet handled it with ease - I was able to play for extended periods without any issues. Of course, this may not be ideal for the most demanding games out there, but for average users, the tablet should provide more than enough power.
**Battery Life and Power Consumption**
One of the things that's always important when considering a new device is battery life. The Remix Tablet has a decent battery capacity at 7,000mAh, which should be enough to last all day. I was able to get around 8 hours out of it during my testing, although this may vary depending on usage.
The tablet also provides some useful information about power consumption. You can see exactly how much the device is using power, and you can even save power by closing unnecessary apps or adjusting settings.
**Conclusion**
Overall, I'm really impressed with the Remix Tablet. It's a solid Android option that offers great value for its price. The build quality is top-notch, the screen is crisp and clear, and the camera is excellent. Performance-wise, it holds its own against other Android tablets on the market.
One of the things that sets the Remix Tablet apart from other devices is its keyboard. It's a great typing experience, and I found myself wanting to use the tablet as a laptop more often than not. The kickstand provides a sturdy base for watching videos or browsing the web, and the speakers are nice and clear.
If you're in the market for an Android tablet that can be used as a productive device or a notebook-style laptop, then the Remix Tablet is definitely worth considering. It's available on Kickstarter for a reasonable price, and it's easy to see why it caught my attention during its campaign.
"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enI go that's Chris here from tick tablets with the remix ultra tablet here they call it an ultra tablet because it has a keyboard and can do a bit of multitasking it's not your average Android tablet I'll be using it now for a couple of weeks I haven't had any videos on it or I have a written review just yet because the operating system the remix operating system has been in its infancy here so there's been a few little tiny minor bugs there's nothing a major really but there have been updating and working hard the team on that so I've kind of left my tablet for a while just to run a few of those updates and get things working fine on the teller and overall I'm really impressed with this tablet I just have to say that I think this has to be one of the best Android tablets you can get especially round for the price I mean this is gonna be retailing for I think around between about to 399 350 u.s. so the price is quite good for what you get so you have a 1080p screen here which is a lovely screen it's fully laminated and it's one of the the best in a TV screens I've actually seen in a while really really good nice colors very nice and bright too and overall really quite impressed with the build quality to of the tablet so you have a very kind of surface to like tablet you have a two-stage kickstand here you can see underneath you have hidden away a micro SD card slot very nice and very much like the surface where you have the slot hidden under the the flat there for the kickstand I'd love to see more tablets with kickstands I really do think that when you have a tablet of this weight and sizes 11 point 6 inches that it would really be nice to have kickstands on all those kind of tablets because then you can prop it up watch a movie and the keyboard dock there's really good the keyboard on this I must say is really well done very good to type on the keys are individually spaced out so you get a lot less typos I even actually find it a lot better than my surface 3 keyboard which I'll just show you right here this is the surface 3 keyboard and it's a high quality keyboard but you could see that both of these keyboards have about the same thick yes the remix have done a really good job and designing this different kind of materials that I have used I noticed that the keyboard on the remix will pick up a lot of dust and dirt quite quickly I've been trying to keep it clean and wiping it down and you can see that already that it starts to get a few smudges and just picks up over all bits and dust the things maybe because it's a black color here so you can see already a little bit of dust there and minor things it's just a minor complaint there the trackpad works really well and you don't have any mouse clicks or anything like that or you just double tap when you're using the trackpad there and overall here typing on it because you have that more space being an 11 inch tablet you get a lot more space there versus say the surface 3 keyboard and you don't get that same kind of feedback I find the feedback on these keys are a lot better and I can just hop a lot quicker and then really just decent decent typing experience which is what the focus of this tablet is basically all about being a productive Android tablet it puts in there just like that you can fold that back which would put the tablet into sleep mode which would turn the screen off and it does sometimes come off like it was quite easy if I hold it up for it to do that so that's a tiny little minor little nibble there that I wish it would clip in there just a little bit nicer be slightly stronger there the magnets in there but overall it fits pretty good it's not too bad it's just you have to sometimes be careful when you do pick up just the tablet and let the keyboard flop down that it could just come off now it is powered by a Tegra 4 which isn't the latest and greatest CPU now that we do have an Android powered tablets but I must say that the performance of it is it's fine it keeps up with everything there's no like stutters or legs it's really quite good and the operating system and as you did quite a bit of multitasking so you can run different applications like the calculator and things and have them pop up while switching between other things like the browser and if you imagine you're in the browser here and you want to just add up a few sums then you can do that you have that on top so their focus is there really or the multitasking so you can quickly just switch between different applications like this and I find that quite handy and you have shortcuts as well on the keyboard that are suited to the operating systems here and the back button here you can control the volume straight away from the speakers which I'll just show you in a minute screen brightness as well you can tweak that up and down straight off the keyboard there so not bad at all there and the screen bonuses is quite good - settings menu you can pop that up straight away just from a quick button you can disable the trackpad - if you wanted to if you found that annoying and you can just certainly push a button there which would disable the trackpad so no need for that if you don't like it perhaps you're typing and you know that you do have it so I'll move around a little but it's interfering with it typing it does come with quite a good application here that I do like which is the office application so you can you can do some proper actual the documents therein and and you've got a lot of options there with inserting different shapes and things and typing and really quite handy they do like that so again you can you quickly just swap over so you want to go back and - I'll look here at Google Play and I'm just running actually in the background just a couple of downloads there you can see that with the handy little swipe down menu here which is quite good and you also have a quick list here so you can disable turn off GPS wireless vibration is quite handy there as a haptic feedback when you push the home button then you can hear that vibrate and the power application is another very nice nicely well done application there so you can see exactly they give you times here of how long your battery is going to be like the last four for movie playback for browsing or I can get approximately eight hours here from the 75% I have remaining you can also click here to save power and it'll tell you their power consumption here and it's nice little menu on the side there as you can see that what's been using most of the battery life here but it's been did affect which is again I just played a little bit if it sits down there I will show you a couple of benchmarks but first I'm just going to flip over to the browser here and just let you hear these speakers here so you have our left and right speakers on the side here they actually do sound quite decent they're quite good tablet speakers there and the front-facing webcam is a microphone on the front and there's a webcam on the rear as well that also has a microphone and you do get this nice metallic build there so if I just pause that and jump back in and just show you a couple of benchmarks here and the gallery that I ran some people might be concerned that that timber for being a kind of an old ala chipset might not be up to it well it's actually all right it does okay well that was just a little bit of a graphics glitch that I took a screenshot or just to to let them know about that it might have been something to do with the the taskbar they have at the bottom that caused this it didn't seem to appear later on when I was benchmarking so this is unreal Citadel score here on the ultra high quality running at the screen resolution of a full screen but used to have that task mother at the bottom and you can see that 41 frames per second it's not maybe the fastest but it's still quite good I think and this is the ice storm unlimited score 3dmark not a bad score and I should have here we go yeah and two to five point seven so thirty-five thousand three hundred and eleven there puts it on par with more or less on par with the LG g3 there so it's not too bad it's not a super a powerhouse or anything it's not like the fastest octa-core CPU anything like that but for average use and gaming you're not really gonna have any you and I have any problems at all with that it's still fast enough for all those kind of needs and it should be for many years to come as well good for that and I will jump into a game here that I do have like downloaded just did effect and just quickly show you that how that runs see the menu does disappear here but what I will try and do here is just close a few of the applications that I'm running here it's the current application memory cleanup so that's quickly just closed everything there just so I get they they are maximum performance here out of the game so I'm just gonna jump into a game here of did effect as they'll quickly show you how it runs games here that the data that has no problem gaming so you keep moving look around and there's there's nice leather in there that all runs fine this isn't the most demo demanding game of course okay I just ran out and kill the zombie and you know exit out of this so you can see most of the oil against all that I what the ones that I've tried anyway that everything's everything was just fine on the tablet and I roll just to quickly wrap this review up here that I'm really quite impressed with this tablet here I think the remix is a really nice Android tablet and I don't think there's anything that really comes close to that I mean you do have the transformer book series running on Android and they are quite good machines as well but you do get a much better key what I think with this because it just just it's nice to type on and the build quality and kick stands there the speaker's the screen the cameras are good too I wrote quite impressed with what the offering is here from remix this was a kits that Kickstarter campaign and they've done really quite well so I wrote the remix for me seems to be the Android tablet now to beat there if you're after something that you can be used as a productive slash almost notebook laptop laptop then this is the Android tablet ticket here and you can actually charge they do have a charger there with their magnetic block on plug there which is very similar to a surface and you can also charge by the micro USB there and you do have ot G support of course to their overall very nice tablet and I'd like to thank thank remix for sending me this to review and do hands-on videos off thank you for watching a video and do subscribe to my channel I will have more up and coming videos of other tablets from China bye for nowI go that's Chris here from tick tablets with the remix ultra tablet here they call it an ultra
