The Urban Corps of San Diego: A Comprehensive Program Promoting Civic Engagement
The Urban Corps of San Diego is a nonprofit organization that offers a comprehensive program blending high school education, paid job training, and community service to promote civic engagement. One arm of their nonprofit includes a recycling program, which highlights the importance of waste management in our society. The program's team, led by Forge, showcases their daily operations, including a massive garbage truck that compacts thousands of pounds of trash every day.
The Ford F-750 Garbage Truck: A marvel of Engineering and Technology
During the tour, Nolan and Justin had the opportunity to ride in the giant game of Hungry Hungry Hippos, compacting cans with ease. Jorge, the driver, shared his experience driving such a big truck around San Diego, stating that it's both exciting and demanding. The Ford F-750 garbage truck is an impressive machine, featuring a 6.7L Power Stroke engine under the hood, which pushes out 350 horsepower and 750 pounds of torque. This powerful diesel engine enables the truck to move massive amounts of trash efficiently.
A Day in the Life of a Garbage Truck Driver
As Jorge took Nolan and Justin on a tour of San Diego's streets, they experienced the thrill of driving one of these behemoths up close. The cabin feels very comfortable, with smooth power steering that makes maneuvering easy. With a gross vehicle weight rating of 37,000 pounds, this truck is capable of handling even the heaviest loads. As Jorge navigated the streets, the team couldn't help but marvel at the size and capabilities of these vehicles.
The True Backbone of America: Celebrating Garbage Truck Drivers
As Nolan reflected on their experience driving a Ford F-750 garbage truck, he realized that the workers who drive these trucks are the true backbone of America. From putting out fires to keeping streets clean and responding to emergency calls, these individuals work tirelessly behind the scenes to keep our communities running smoothly. The Urban Corps of San Diego's program not only trains young people in valuable skills but also acknowledges the importance of these unsung heroes.
A Message to Garbage Truck Drivers Everywhere
As Nolan concluded their tour, he expressed his gratitude to Jorge and the team for sharing their expertise. "We wanted to show how the Ford F-750 series truck is the backbone of America," he said, "but as I talked to all the different people who work with these trucks became really apparent that they're the ones we should be celebrating." To those hardworking garbage truck drivers out there, Nolan wants to extend a message of appreciation and admiration for their dedication and hard work.

your truck Justin what are friends for thanks man I really appreciate it of course oh that is heavier than I thought it was going to be all right so this might not be very impressive but trust me the jobs and the trucks are going to get a lot bigger uh-oh Ah that's fine that's fine Nolan what happened to trucks I thought they used to fit couches inside the bed I mean now it's a family vehicle you got a big old passenger compartment and that takes up that room that the bed used to take vehicles are so expensive people can't afford to own multiple Vehicles they have their one vehicle that does it all you know you got to I don't know haul your couch or go to the job side or whatever but also take your family to dinner so that's true I understand now catch all right Justin F-150 dude what do we think it's a very large inside this is the smallest truck on our list and it feels enormous it and it's not just like leg space it's head it's shoulder space it's all the space I'm so comfortable man I feel I feel like a king in here the ride is super comfortable too this thing doesn't drive like any truck I've ever been in it's so soft you don't get that classic truck feeling where you can feel the bed maybe skitter around a little bit there really is like an F-150 for every driver in the US you can really build one of these trucks any way you want to and that's kind of part of the staying power of the F-150 you can go all the way up to like the King Ranch Edition which I think is I think I want to say it's like 80,000 90,000 I think they're higher now man I mean I was actually thinking about getting a regular cap short bed myself but uh oh actually still are still thinking about I have a whole build sheet for it so he's got the 2.7 EcoBoost under the hood turbocharge V6 it's making 325 horsepower and 400 ftlb of torque that's pretty respectable wow yeah so I mean there's a lot of stuff you can all with this thing a lot more than most people will need yeah this isn't just Ford's bestselling truck this is the bestselling vehicle in the US wow it's the F-150 like most people who are going to look and buying a new car are probably looking at one of these yeah cuz it does everything yeah so so why would you need more that is a great question all of the trucks today the types of trucks you might have played with as a little kid on one of those carpets with the roads on them pickup trucks ambulances fire truck in fact the final truck in today's video is my childhood favor but before we get to that let's drive something a little bit bigger than our F-150 hey noan here this is a piston and this is a dirty piston covered in engine killing deposits that Rob you of efficiency and performance meaning less power and worse gas mileage the more these deposits F250 getting into the big leagues now Nolan sizable girthy I knew you going to say that I knew you were going to say that we're out here at horses for Productions with scarlet and Stefan they provide horses for all sorts of Productions like movies commercials even YouTube videos that's right we've actually been here before he came to meet Big D when we were looking for horse to dino today we're here for a different reason yeah this is gold mine gold mine has a photo shoot we're going to trailer him over to the location Jerry you tell the people about the F250 while I help Scarlet put gold mine in his trailer Easy work no you ever work with a horse before no no well here's the thing they got brains about the size of this big and they don't ever like to listen to you but gold M's a true professional I mean it sounds like working with you guys so that is true straighten out straighten out no loading up his first horse trailer let's go okay so this is a 2019 Ford F250 it's four-door it's four-wheel drive it's got the long bed a little thing that's different than most typical F250s you'd see is that this has a gas engine in it it's a 6.2 L V8 makes 385 horsepower 430 ftlb of torque you can put 4,000 lb in the bed of this thing thing so it can put a lot in the back it can haul a lot ready to catch him yeah sure so we're going to grab his halter okay oh he's really just making it difficult come on in here you come you're doing great Nolan you're doing great just remember you're the boss over over the top long piece over the top put a little nose in there all right buddy something interesting about this truck is it holds a 10,000 gross vehicle weight rating gross vehicle weight rating is the maximum amount this truck can weigh with the chassis the engine the body and anything else that you put in the bed of this truck that is at 10,000 lb good boy good boy we're going to go over here you go 10,1 lbs you need a DOT number you potentially need to get a new license or have a qualifications to drive something that big so that's why you see a lot of these on the road they're pretty much the max you can get that you can get with a standard driver's license just a dense animal you know when we start getting up into the bigger trucks that number starts skyrocketing and you can hold a lot more so right now we're still in the you know the residential area but we're working our way up to the commercial properties nope he's walking he's walking he said I'd rather be over here sir all right they can sense fear okay so calm the down all right we're going in okay he's I think he's ready to go all right let's close up the trailer oh you hear that nay Nolan saying goodbye to his buddies I'm going to work guys oh that's interesting I can feel the horse yeah kicking yeah you can feel like every movement it's 1,000 lb yeah from the driver's seat this thing feels a lot different than the F-150 the new F-150 that we drove felt very carlike by comparison this thing still feels like a truck the great thing about the F250 is it covers a broad range of users you get the people who need it for their Hobbies get the people who need it to make a living you know I have an F250 myself it's a 273 L diesel I use it for all of my hobbies you know Towing motorcycles towing a a race car to the track yes now on the like upper end this is like full-on professional used truck now one thing Nolan this is obviously a gas engine I am a diesel F250 guy but there are some advantag I guess to having a uh a gas engine this is kind of a sweet spot of hey you get the payload that you want but you don't need necessarily an engine with a whole bunch of torque yeah and it's uh averaging what is that 8 m per gallon 7.7 M for gallon Jer 7.7 MPG not bad Nolan it's that's pretty bad all right Gold Mine there you go we got gold mine out of his trailer ready for that phot shoot yeah go mine is out of his tril so let's get some picks and check out that Ford F350 the next vehicle in our lineup is this Ford F350 ambulance it's got lights it's got medical equipment and it's got a siren it was prepared by medic specialty Vehicles what do you say we give it a drive let's do it feels weird driving an emergency vehicle it's just you and me in this car Justin we cannot help it an emergency yeah I feel a weight on my shoulders behind the wheel quite literally yeah so the F250 and the F350 are very similar trucks in fact they come with the same exact set of engine options however the F350 does have a stronger rear axle and a more robust susp engine to support heavier payloads while the F250 has a gross vehicle weight rating of 10,000 lb the F350 can be rated up to 14,000 lb com to red light this thing's heavy yeah it doesn't slow down like the F-150 does or the F250 it's big she's a big girl but it's not struggling no no it's not uh it's not too bad F350 the first truck in the lineup that's available as cab only meaning you can just buy the truck without anything over the rear of the frame oh a cab chassis cab chassis yeah so you know Outfitters like Medics specialty vehicles or you know any other sort of specialty equipment can buy those chassis and outfit them for a specific job this G is very similar to the F250 though yeah I think they're probably the same I don't I don't think there's any crazy differences between the F350 and F250 in stock form at least besides this center console with all the uh controls for all my lights and horns and all that sort of stuff thank you Geek Squad for letting me buy he thinks we're on a mission that's what I'm talking about dude I feel people getting out of our way with great power comes great responsibility I'm trying to not take advantage of that responsibility with this car you know somebody's going to see us to be like oh they coming for me after getting to feel pretty cool driving the ambulance around Sean and arrol who actually work with these ambulances every day gave us a quick rundown of the F350 and how it functions very quickly it was apparent how prepared these guys are for any situation they might encounter if I'm putting an needle in like putting a in I'd be like hey needle's out like yelling it to make sure you hear it so just acknowledge don't hit the brakes or something well if you're a really good buddy of M you'd probably hit a dip too these guys have a difficult high stakes job so after receiving the bare minimum instruction on how to transport a patient it was time for me and Justin to give it a shot in a highly accurate simulation guys I was playing with my food oh no Jimmy it got serious Jimmy not again lay down Jimmy I got to lay down J you got to get in the truck Jimmy I'm going to get the stretch dude oh God you got it I got it got to bring it down yep bring it down it's a lot slower than I thought it'd be ready 3 two 1 be careful that banana Jimmy you're Jimmy leave it alone why am I constrained God what are you doing there you go there you go oh okay here you go no push forward there we go we all right get in we don't get Jim into the emergency room in 100 seconds he won't be able to read or spell ever again stop touching the banana Jimmy Jimmy it's okay buddy make sure your shirt open okay not this shirt I like this shirt you can get out of the one at doam media.com you good you're good oh god I've got scissors bump we to get that stabilized see a light noan bum oh Jesus Christ almost turn we have to get there in 60 seconds we're almost there hold on Jimmy get some take we had a little bit of a delay going to another hospital what no Jimmy hold on I'll play with right through again all right time we made it but unfortunately the patient succumbed to his injury I didn't get there fast enough well I didn't really do a very good job either so it was a team effort why we high five for that after going through that and killing Jimmy I have a whole new appreciation for this job and other kind of First Responders it's like those people actually have to have the skills to do it under pressure you know driving through the streets while you're getting worked on like that's some that insane to me on that note I want to thank Sean and Errol for letting us drive this truck but also for all the work they do and every other EMT and paramedic ambulance driver out there for helping all of us when we need it the most it's a tough job that I think we take for granted sometimes thank you a lot of trucks in this video do meaningful work for the benefit of society this next truck is no different it's a party bus it's a bus made to party built on a 450 chassis well this one's an E450 we specifically asked for an F450 they said they could provide one they sent us an E450 I guess that's what happens when you're a party bus company you're down for anything you just say yes so we'll actually get into the differences between the econol line and the f-s series trucks in a little bit but for now now it is our buddy Zach job's birthday and we got to prepare so we're going to have our driver Michael give us a tour of this party bus and show us where we're about to get down rule number one what happens on the bus stays on the bus that'll hold up in court it's in the Constitution now everybody watch your step watch your step all right this is big how many people can you safely seat in a party bus typically anywhere from 12 to 16 people no problem quick run down on the bus super super simple on the bus drink what you want off the bus no go we want lasers we want to get into it always want lasers remember we want more volume volume makes the Party happen volume makes the Party happen we have a very special birthday boy that has no idea what is on a secret from which is really hard to do got these decorations up this looks OEM sick this looks like it was made for the bus I mean super sick hey Michael yeah you don't get to be The Driver of a party bus by not knowing how to blow up balloons okay got the custom miral in the back we the banners got the balloons the lights are ready to go job is back at the office I honestly cannot wait to do this let's go get him hey Zach come look at this car on camera so we got this car especially for you no way yeah is it the Oscar Meer weer mobile oh man if only happy birthday buddy wo birday to you happy birday to you what do we got a Stretch Armstrong no way dude I feel like a kid again great no one's driving yeah no one's driving all right everybody hang on here we go pop up up and down headlights Pop Up Up and Down headlights Pop Up Up and Down impressions of the E450 already surprisingly easy to drive very smooth acceleration smooth ride too over this pretty bumpy Surface Street I'm immediately aware of how long and wide this thing is luckily these have very good wide angle mirrors on there I can keep track of my rear tire make sure I'm not hitting any curbs keep track of this long long vehicle this might be the longest vehicle I've ever driven actually how long can you go stretchy he's almost here inside oh man sounds so much fun back there that's the E450 comes with the exact same 7.3 L gas engine that can be found in an F450 these Vans are surprisingly capable and much more affordable than the f-s series trucks with the bass E450 costing $115,000 less than the Bas F450 chassi cab with the same exact engine but despite all their similarities their hauling capabilities aren't even close while the f450s gross vehicle weight rating is greater than the E450 by about 2,000 lb the towing capacity is 16,000 lb more with the truck but if you aren't planning on Towing instead just trying to carry a big party of your co-workers around the E4 50 is the affordable Choice yeah this is the best birthday party in my life it's so creepy dude give a profile dud dud you don't remind me of like the Zodiac kill all right that's it for the party truck let's check in with our next truck the F550 back to work as the trucks get bigger and bigger payload becomes more important we've hauled a couch a horse a dying Jimmy and a party but this next load right now is the one everyone in donut is most excited for that right there is a Ford F550 with a freaking crane on the back can load and unload heavy cargo like a king kong without using a forklift or a lift gate very convenient under the hood this F5 50 has a 6.7 L power stroke diesel engine 475 horsepower 1,50 ft power the torque so on the flatbed is something that we've all been waiting for here at Donut for a very long time but before we get to that let's take the F550 for a little spin J very long truck so I'm keeping my eyes glued to my mirrors there making sure I'm not running into anything I'm just going to stay still yeah you're good this F550 is the first truck that we've driven that you cannot get from Ford with a pickup bed that makes sense strictly commercial stuff I'd like to see a bed that can fit on that huge dude I'm sure there's some out there there's probably one yeah if you're buying a truck like this you're buying that chassis and maybe going to another company that builds the specified bed for your industry a crane company a flatbed company I don't know if it was necessarily made for cruising the streets of Englewood like this well it was made to go anywhere going you think so I mean you got to get a load places you do you know I'm always saying that yeah you got to get a load places like my grandpa always said yeah okay if you've been watching our channel for a while you've seen us go from talking about cars in a hallway in front of a green screen working on cars on jack stand finally working on cars under a portable hydraulic lift well guys we finally made it we got ourselves some big boys James thanks we did it we definitely helped yeah couldn't have done it without us really yeah Tedy how helpful were James and I with this job today just okay okay just okay hey and that's all we can hope for be good no that's pretty good up next might be the wildest truck in this video and while the final truck is my favorite as a kid this one might be my favorite as an adult this is a type three Wildland pumper at greaton Fire Department it's a purpose-built off-road fire engine built on top of the chassis of Ford F650 23,44 lb of sweet pumping action Nolan right here is Kyle he's the engineer for the station he drives all the trucks here can you walk us through the engine here all right it was built to kind of be an all-risk fire engine with an emphasis on Wildfire fighting on the engine itself we have all the tools we need for fighting wildfires as well as house fires Medical calls vehicle extrication uh anything you can really think of we can cut a tree out of the road very utilitarian absolutely all jobs to move all 23,000 lb of this thing you might expect this truck to have a huge engine under the hood but it's actually the 6.7 L Power Stroke you know it's making 330 horsepower 750 lbs of torque but the transmission and the final gearing of this thing is super low to help move all that weight and I've been told It actually drives pretty well what's the top speed of this thing 100 miles 150 it's got a governor putting it's putting it at 67 mph yeah this thing can pump 500 gallons per minute it carries 500 in aolly tank in the center carries 20 gallons of foam concentrate how many hoses are on this truck I see them all over great question lot ofes lot of hoses so total hose compliment we're looking at about 24 to 2600 ft 2400 so almost half a mile of Hose that's insane that's a lot of Hose this engine was delivered to greaton in 2020 and its second service call Ever Was to the l&u lightning fires that fire encompassed over 350,000 Acres insane the crew spent 22 days out in the field with this engine putting those fires out man good way to break her in yeah I'd say Kyle was kind enough to show us around this truck show us all the features but it's time to take this thing out of the station give it a little Drive look here Jerry we get some really cool days at work and uh this is one of them yeah it's pretty neat it's very uh F250 350es in here this whole instrument panel while the business is going on is obviously very different yes you got lots of sirens and air horns like that scared the hilarious that's what he get this is definitely the heaviest vehicle I've ever driven and you know what it's got got some pick up and go it's not bad it's Nimble dude for how big it is they built a good rig we've driven some other super heavy Vehicles like that RV a couple months ago oh that's right yeah the Ascender yeah the Ascender that thing weighed 177,000 lb but the management of the chassis was not it the due diligence wasn't done for the weight management and that thing drove like compared to this thing this thing's awesome it doesn't feel as big as it looks on the outside no we're just higher up yeah we're just higher up you can see over the hood really well oh look at this waterfall dude what kidding me this is so nice dude it's ET around here getting to drive the fire engine that was a dream come true but greaton FD has arranged a little training exercise for us Jerry we're all geared up so we got about 10 minutes worth of training back at the firehouse I honestly retained zero of that I've got a hose pack on my back this thing weighs about 45 lb here we've got a cone down there might look like a cone to you but Chance can we get a uh child on fire I'm going to be running with the nozzle you're going to be undoing the hose you're going to get the hose out of my backpack the standard is 100 ft of Hose per 1 minute our child is about 200 ft away gives us 2 minutes to save this poor poor citizen from the fire in the middle of a downpour let's go we've never done this go no no no give me the water all right water coming okay we got it we saved her I'm so out of rure yeah that was only two minutes dude was it I don't know it's time to or F750 the largest truck on our list today in the form of my favorite childhood toy the garbage truck let's hu some trash Nolan yes this F750 belongs to the urban Corps of San Diego who run a comprehensive program that blends high school education paid job training and community service to promote Civic engagement one arm of their nonprofit includes a recycling program Forge showed us around the truck and then they just keep compacting everything into the I guess it's called a tank or what would you call that yeah it's actually the the stomach of the Beast you the stomach of the Beast hell yeah I've never actually SE when he's open like this before it's just incredible the kind of machinery and the technology and all the engineering that's gone into something that helps keep Society moving you know thousands of pounds of trash the waste of a society in motion and packed it in there and then transport to another location man I don't know it's just crazy that this is just like on the streets with you every day yeah so we got a bunch of cans here going to throw these into the compactor okay so scooping it into the receptacle back there I don't know if that worked Jus I have no idea what I'm doing I'm more worried about which direction the controls go let me help you Nolan thank you Justin Wa look at this guy all right Justin yes brush them all right all right I got most of it that time it's like a giant game of Hungry Hungry Hippos Justin yeah yes quite literally Justin that was really fun love playing with hydraulics but we're not here to trash compact all day we're here to drive this thing so let's get behind the wheel and see what this Ford F750 garbage truck is all about got our boy Jorge here he's going to drive us around in the truck and uh we'll tell you our Impressions the best we can from the passenger seats oh yeah it's time big truck big dudes so H how do you like driving such a big truck around San Diego you get used to it but it is it uh it is a big responsibility I'm I'm not going to shy from me it's a big responsibility a big truck like this demands respect so people are cautious you know do you drive a pickup truck in your uh day-to-day no no I driving SP out cute oh nice dude this thing is so big it makes a Range Rover look tiny but it's so so smooth in handling yeah if if you were to drive it it's so smooth power steering yeah this cabin feels very similar to just a F350 or even F250 oh it's very comfortable yeah very comfortable still a Ford just a lot bigger yep 6.7 L Power Stroke under the hood it's pushing out 350 horsepower 750t pounds of torque but Justin I mean in applications like this we don't need a lot of horsepower no you just need to be able to move it and that's exactly what torque does yeah and that's the beauty of diesel you get all that torqu all that wheel movement pull all that weight oh yeah 37,000 lb gross vehicle weight rating I mean that's almost as much as a tank yeah I mean this has been a dream come true right here yeah noan how's it feel a ride in my childhood favorite toy the garbage truck love it we're the king of the streets out here right and that feels good yeah so thank you Jorge but there's one more thing though to be a real garbage man that you need to do all right let's go 56 oh Mak it a turn here we go oh my god oh oh my God I love my job baby when we set out to make this video we wanted to show how the Ford f-s series truck is the backbone of America show off these trucks that get the jobs done but as I talked to all the different people who work with these trucks became really apparent that they're the ones we should be celebrating the workers who drive the trucks who put out the fires who keep our streets clean and respond to our calls for help every single day they're the true backbone so to those of you out there you know who you are thank you very much all right so that's every FS series driven what a great day you want to see more hit that subscribe button leave us a comment down below tell us what insanely Hard video to make next and we might do it this took months to make all right see you lateryou've probably heard of the Ford F-150 or even the F250 or 350 but did you know they make an F650 and even a 750 well today we're going to drive them all starting the most popular one this is a brand new Ford F-150 man I really appreciate it of course oh that is heavier than I thought it was going to be all right so this might not be very impressive but trust me the jobs and the trucks are going to get a lot the bestselling vehicle in the US wow it's the F-150 like most people who are going to look and buying a new car are probably looking at one of these yeah cuz it does everything yeah so so why would you need more that is a great question all of the trucks today the types of trucks you might have played with as a little kid on one of those carpets with the roads on them pickup trucks ambulances fire truck in fact the final truck in today's video is my childhood favor but before we get to that let's drive something a little bit bigger than our F-150 hey noan here this is a piston and this is Nolan sizable girthy I knew you going to say that I knew you were going to say that we're out here at horses for Productions with scarlet and Stefan they provide horses for all sorts of Productions like movies commercials even YouTube videos that's right we've actually been here before he came to meet Big D when we were looking for horse to dino today we're here for a different reason yeah this is gold mine gold mine has a photo shoot we're going to trailer him over to the location Jerry you tell the people about the F250 while I help Scarlet put gold mine in his trailer Easy work no you ever work with a horse before no no well here's the thing they got brains about the size of this big and they don't ever like to listen to you but gold M's a true professional I mean it sounds like working with you guys so that is true straighten out straighten out no loading up his first horse trailer let's go okay so this is a 2019 Ford F250 it's four-door it's four-wheel drive it's got the long bed a little thing that's different than most typical F250s you'd see is that this has a gas engine in it it's a 6.2 L V8 makes 385 horsepower 430 ftlb of torque you can put 4,000 lb in the bed of this thing thing so it can put a lot in the back it can haul a lot ready to catch him yeah sure so we're going to grab his halter okay oh he's really just making it difficult come on in here you come you're doing great Nolan you're doing great just remember you're the boss over over the top long piece over the top put a little nose in there all right buddy something interesting about this truck is it holds a 10,000 gross vehicle weight rating gross vehicle weight rating is the maximum amount this truck can weigh with the chassis the engine the body and anything else that you put in the bed of this truck that is at 10,000 lb good boy good boy we're going to go over here you go 10,1 lbs you need a DOT number you potentially need to get a new license or have a qualifications to drive something that big so that's why you see a lot of these on the road they're pretty much the max you can get that you can get with a standard driver's license just a dense animal you know when we start getting up into the bigger trucks that number starts skyrocketing and you can hold a lot more so right now we're still in the you know the residential area but we're working our way up to the commercial properties nope he's walking he's walking he said I'd rather be over here sir all right they can sense fear okay so calm the down all right we're going in okay he's I think he's ready to go all right let's close up the trailer oh you hear that nay Nolan saying goodbye to his buddies I'm going to work guys oh that's interesting I can feel the horse yeah kicking yeah you can feel like every movement it's 1,000 lb yeah from the driver's seat this thing feels a lot different than the F-150 the new F-150 that we drove felt very carlike by comparison this thing still feels like a truck the great thing about the F250 is it covers a broad range of users you get the people who need it for their Hobbies get the people who need it to make a living you know I have an F250 myself it's a 273 L diesel I use it for all of my hobbies you know Towing motorcycles towing a a race car to the track yes now on the like upper end this is like full-on professional used truck now one thing Nolan this is obviously a gas engine I am a diesel F250 guy but there are some advantag I guess to having a uh a gas engine this is kind of a sweet spot of hey you get the payload that you want but you don't need necessarily an engine with a whole bunch of torque yeah and it's uh averaging what is that 8 m per gallon 7.7 M for gallon Jer 7.7 MPG not bad Nolan it's that's pretty bad all right Gold Mine there you go we got gold mine out of his trailer ready for that phot shoot yeah go mine is out of his tril so let's get some picks and check out that Ford F350 the next vehicle in our lineup is this Ford F350 ambulance it's got lights it's got medical equipment and it's got a siren it was prepared by medic specialty Vehicles what do you say we give it a drive let's do it feels weird driving an emergency vehicle it's just you and me in this car Justin we cannot help it an emergency yeah I feel a weight on my shoulders behind the wheel quite literally yeah so the F250 and the F350 are very similar trucks in fact they come with the same exact set of engine options however the F350 does have a stronger rear axle and a more robust susp engine to support heavier payloads while the F250 has a gross vehicle weight rating of 10,000 lb the F350 can be rated up to 14,000 lb com to red light this thing's heavy yeah it doesn't slow down like the F-150 does or the F250 it's big she's a big girl but it's not struggling no no it's not uh it's not too bad F350 the first truck in the lineup that's available as cab only meaning you can just buy the truck without anything over the rear of the frame oh a cab chassis cab chassis yeah so you know Outfitters like Medics specialty vehicles or you know any other sort of specialty equipment can buy those chassis and outfit them for a specific job this G is very similar to the F250 though yeah I think they're probably the same I don't I don't think there's any crazy differences between the F350 and F250 in stock form at least besides this center console with all the uh controls for all my lights and horns and all that sort of stuff thank you Geek Squad for letting me buy he thinks we're on a mission that's what I'm talking about dude I feel people getting out of our way with great power comes great responsibility I'm trying to not take advantage of that responsibility with this car you know somebody's going to see us to be like oh they coming for me after getting to feel pretty cool driving the ambulance around Sean and arrol who actually work with these ambulances every day gave us a quick rundown of the F350 and how it functions very quickly it was apparent how prepared these guys are for any situation they might encounter if I'm putting an needle in like putting a in I'd be like hey needle's out like yelling it to make sure you hear it so just acknowledge don't hit the brakes or something well if you're a really good buddy of M you'd probably hit a dip too these guys have a difficult high stakes job so after receiving the bare minimum instruction on how to transport a patient it was time for me and Justin to give it a shot in a highly accurate simulation guys I was playing with my food oh no Jimmy it got serious Jimmy not again lay down Jimmy I got to lay down J you got to get in the truck Jimmy I'm going to get the stretch dude oh God you got it I got it got to bring it down yep bring it down it's a lot slower than I thought it'd be ready 3 two 1 be careful that banana Jimmy you're Jimmy leave it alone why am I constrained God what are you doing there you go there you go oh okay here you go no push forward there we go we all right get in we don't get Jim into the emergency room in 100 seconds he won't be able to read or spell ever again stop touching the banana Jimmy Jimmy it's okay buddy make sure your shirt open okay not this shirt I like this shirt you can get out of the one at doam media.com you good you're good oh god I've got scissors bump we to get that stabilized see a light noan bum oh Jesus Christ almost turn we have to get there in 60 seconds we're almost there hold on Jimmy get some take we had a little bit of a delay going to another hospital what no Jimmy hold on I'll play with right through again all right time we made it but unfortunately the patient succumbed to his injury I didn't get there fast enough well I didn't really do a very good job either so it was a team effort why we high five for that after going through that and killing Jimmy I have a whole new appreciation for this job and other kind of First Responders it's like those people actually have to have the skills to do it under pressure you know driving through the streets while you're getting worked on like that's some that insane to me on that note I want to thank Sean and Errol for letting us drive this truck but also for all the work they do and every other EMT and paramedic ambulance driver out there for helping all of us when we need it the most it's a tough job that I think we take for granted sometimes thank you a lot of trucks in this video do meaningful work for the benefit of society this next truck is no different it's a party bus it's a bus made to party built on a 450 chassis well this one's an E450 we specifically asked for an F450 they said they could provide one they sent us an E450 I guess that's what happens when you're a party bus company you're down for anything you just say yes so we'll actually get into the differences between the econol line and the f-s series trucks in a little bit but for now now it is our buddy Zach job's birthday and we got to prepare so we're going to have our driver Michael give us a tour of this party bus and show us where we're about to get down rule number one what happens on the bus stays on the bus that'll hold up in court it's in the Constitution now everybody watch your step watch your step all right this is big how many people can you safely seat in a party bus typically anywhere from 12 to 16 people no problem quick run down on the bus super super simple on the bus drink what you want off the bus no go we want lasers we want to get into it always want lasers remember we want more volume volume makes the Party happen volume makes the Party happen we have a very special birthday boy that has no idea what is on a secret from which is really hard to do got these decorations up this looks OEM sick this looks like it was made for the bus I mean super sick hey Michael yeah you don't get to be The Driver of a party bus by not knowing how to blow up balloons okay got the custom miral in the back we the banners got the balloons the lights are ready to go job is back at the office I honestly cannot wait to do this let's go get him hey Zach come look at this car on camera so we got this car especially for you no way yeah is it the Oscar Meer weer mobile oh man if only happy birthday buddy wo birday to you happy birday to you what do we got a Stretch Armstrong no way dude I feel like a kid again great no one's driving yeah no one's driving all right everybody hang on here we go pop up up and down headlights Pop Up Up and Down headlights Pop Up Up and Down impressions of the E450 already surprisingly easy to drive very smooth acceleration smooth ride too over this pretty bumpy Surface Street I'm immediately aware of how long and wide this thing is luckily these have very good wide angle mirrors on there I can keep track of my rear tire make sure I'm not hitting any curbs keep track of this long long vehicle this might be the longest vehicle I've ever driven actually how long can you go stretchy he's almost here inside oh man sounds so much fun back there that's the E450 comes with the exact same 7.3 L gas engine that can be found in an F450 these Vans are surprisingly capable and much more affordable than the f-s series trucks with the bass E450 costing $115,000 less than the Bas F450 chassi cab with the same exact engine but despite all their similarities their hauling capabilities aren't even close while the f450s gross vehicle weight rating is greater than the E450 by about 2,000 lb the towing capacity is 16,000 lb more with the truck but if you aren't planning on Towing instead just trying to carry a big party of your co-workers around the E4 50 is the affordable Choice yeah this is the best birthday party in my life it's so creepy dude give a profile dud dud you don't remind me of like the Zodiac kill all right that's it for the party truck let's check in with our next truck the F550 back to work as the trucks get bigger and bigger payload becomes more important we've hauled a couch a horse a dying Jimmy and a party but this next load right now is the one everyone in donut is most excited for that right there is a Ford F550 with a freaking crane on the back can load and unload heavy cargo like a king kong without using a forklift or a lift gate very convenient under the hood this F5 50 has a 6.7 L power stroke diesel engine 475 horsepower 1,50 ft power the torque so on the flatbed is something that we've all been waiting for here at Donut for a very long time but before we get to that let's take the F550 for a little spin J very long truck so I'm keeping my eyes glued to my mirrors there making sure I'm not running into anything I'm just going to stay still yeah you're good this F550 is the first truck that we've driven that you cannot get from Ford with a pickup bed that makes sense strictly commercial stuff I'd like to see a bed that can fit on that huge dude I'm sure there's some out there there's probably one yeah if you're buying a truck like this you're buying that chassis and maybe going to another company that builds the specified bed for your industry a crane company a flatbed company I don't know if it was necessarily made for cruising the streets of Englewood like this well it was made to go anywhere going you think so I mean you got to get a load places you do you know I'm always saying that yeah you got to get a load places like my grandpa always said yeah okay if you've been watching our channel for a while you've seen us go from talking about cars in a hallway in front of a green screen working on cars on jack stand finally working on cars under a portable hydraulic lift well guys we finally made it we got ourselves some big boys James thanks we did it we definitely helped yeah couldn't have done it without us really yeah Tedy how helpful were James and I with this job today just okay okay just okay hey and that's all we can hope for be good no that's pretty good up next might be the wildest truck in this video and while the final truck is my favorite as a kid this one might be my favorite as an adult this is a type three Wildland pumper at greaton Fire Department it's a purpose-built off-road fire engine built on top of the chassis of Ford F650 23,44 lb of sweet pumping action Nolan right here is Kyle he's the engineer for the station he drives all the trucks here can you walk us through the engine here all right it was built to kind of be an all-risk fire engine with an emphasis on Wildfire fighting on the engine itself we have all the tools we need for fighting wildfires as well as house fires Medical calls vehicle extrication uh anything you can really think of we can cut a tree out of the road very utilitarian absolutely all jobs to move all 23,000 lb of this thing you might expect this truck to have a huge engine under the hood but it's actually the 6.7 L Power Stroke you know it's making 330 horsepower 750 lbs of torque but the transmission and the final gearing of this thing is super low to help move all that weight and I've been told It actually drives pretty well what's the top speed of this thing 100 miles 150 it's got a governor putting it's putting it at 67 mph yeah this thing can pump 500 gallons per minute it carries 500 in aolly tank in the center carries 20 gallons of foam concentrate how many hoses are on this truck I see them all over great question lot ofes lot of hoses so total hose compliment we're looking at about 24 to 2600 ft 2400 so almost half a mile of Hose that's insane that's a lot of Hose this engine was delivered to greaton in 2020 and its second service call Ever Was to the l&u lightning fires that fire encompassed over 350,000 Acres insane the crew spent 22 days out in the field with this engine putting those fires out man good way to break her in yeah I'd say Kyle was kind enough to show us around this truck show us all the features but it's time to take this thing out of the station give it a little Drive look here Jerry we get some really cool days at work and uh this is one of them yeah it's pretty neat it's very uh F250 350es in here this whole instrument panel while the business is going on is obviously very different yes you got lots of sirens and air horns like that scared the hilarious that's what he get this is definitely the heaviest vehicle I've ever driven and you know what it's got got some pick up and go it's not bad it's Nimble dude for how big it is they built a good rig we've driven some other super heavy Vehicles like that RV a couple months ago oh that's right yeah the Ascender yeah the Ascender that thing weighed 177,000 lb but the management of the chassis was not it the due diligence wasn't done for the weight management and that thing drove like compared to this thing this thing's awesome it doesn't feel as big as it looks on the outside no we're just higher up yeah we're just higher up you can see over the hood really well oh look at this waterfall dude what kidding me this is so nice dude it's ET around here getting to drive the fire engine that was a dream come true but greaton FD has arranged a little training exercise for us Jerry we're all geared up so we got about 10 minutes worth of training back at the firehouse I honestly retained zero of that I've got a hose pack on my back this thing weighs about 45 lb here we've got a cone down there might look like a cone to you but Chance can we get a uh child on fire I'm going to be running with the nozzle you're going to be undoing the hose you're going to get the hose out of my backpack the standard is 100 ft of Hose per 1 minute our child is about 200 ft away gives us 2 minutes to save this poor poor citizen from the fire in the middle of a downpour let's go we've never done this go no no no give me the water all right water coming okay we got it we saved her I'm so out of rure yeah that was only two minutes dude was it I don't know it's time to or F750 the largest truck on our list today in the form of my favorite childhood toy the garbage truck let's hu some trash Nolan yes this F750 belongs to the urban Corps of San Diego who run a comprehensive program that blends high school education paid job training and community service to promote Civic engagement one arm of their nonprofit includes a recycling program Forge showed us around the truck and then they just keep compacting everything into the I guess it's called a tank or what would you call that yeah it's actually the the stomach of the Beast you the stomach of the Beast hell yeah I've never actually SE when he's open like this before it's just incredible the kind of machinery and the technology and all the engineering that's gone into something that helps keep Society moving you know thousands of pounds of trash the waste of a society in motion and packed it in there and then transport to another location man I don't know it's just crazy that this is just like on the streets with you every day yeah so we got a bunch of cans here going to throw these into the compactor okay so scooping it into the receptacle back there I don't know if that worked Jus I have no idea what I'm doing I'm more worried about which direction the controls go let me help you Nolan thank you Justin Wa look at this guy all right Justin yes brush them all right all right I got most of it that time it's like a giant game of Hungry Hungry Hippos Justin yeah yes quite literally Justin that was really fun love playing with hydraulics but we're not here to trash compact all day we're here to drive this thing so let's get behind the wheel and see what this Ford F750 garbage truck is all about got our boy Jorge here he's going to drive us around in the truck and uh we'll tell you our Impressions the best we can from the passenger seats oh yeah it's time big truck big dudes so H how do you like driving such a big truck around San Diego you get used to it but it is it uh it is a big responsibility I'm I'm not going to shy from me it's a big responsibility a big truck like this demands respect so people are cautious you know do you drive a pickup truck in your uh day-to-day no no I driving SP out cute oh nice dude this thing is so big it makes a Range Rover look tiny but it's so so smooth in handling yeah if if you were to drive it it's so smooth power steering yeah this cabin feels very similar to just a F350 or even F250 oh it's very comfortable yeah very comfortable still a Ford just a lot bigger yep 6.7 L Power Stroke under the hood it's pushing out 350 horsepower 750t pounds of torque but Justin I mean in applications like this we don't need a lot of horsepower no you just need to be able to move it and that's exactly what torque does yeah and that's the beauty of diesel you get all that torqu all that wheel movement pull all that weight oh yeah 37,000 lb gross vehicle weight rating I mean that's almost as much as a tank yeah I mean this has been a dream come true right here yeah noan how's it feel a ride in my childhood favorite toy the garbage truck love it we're the king of the streets out here right and that feels good yeah so thank you Jorge but there's one more thing though to be a real garbage man that you need to do all right let's go 56 oh Mak it a turn here we go oh my god oh oh my God I love my job baby when we set out to make this video we wanted to show how the Ford f-s series truck is the backbone of America show off these trucks that get the jobs done but as I talked to all the different people who work with these trucks became really apparent that they're the ones we should be celebrating the workers who drive the trucks who put out the fires who keep our streets clean and respond to our calls for help every single day they're the true backbone so to those of you out there you know who you are thank you very much all right so that's every FS series driven what a great day you want to see more hit that subscribe button leave us a comment down below tell us what insanely Hard video to make next and we might do it this took months to make all right see you later
