Hard To Handle Guitar Solo Lesson - The Black Crowes

The Art of Oblique Bends: A Guitar Lesson by [Guitar Instructor's Name]

So that's the more have set bins there at the 9th fret one release pull off to seven and then to hole stat bins at this 10th fret on the B string then win a slide up to the 13th fret on the G over to 12 on the B so that's basically that little pull off lick after you slide into the 13 then play the 12 you're going to pull off 14 to 12 on the B over to 13 on the G then move basically these two fingers here move them up one fret each so now you're going to pull off from 15 to 12 and play 14 on the g string and end it with the 12th fret day on the beat a little lick all right and we had this thing that ends it here so that's an oblique Bend so you're going to be bending at the 17th fret on the B string and as you do that you're going to grab the 17th on the high E I pick back and forth between them as you continue holding that bin then Bend again and do the same look again and then you're going to pick that note release the bend pick the 15th fret and then whole step Bend now the 17th on the high E so we had this all together all right so now let's go to the outro solo it's going to start kind of with some oblique bends as well let me play through that whole thing for you real quick here we go mm-hmm all right.

The process involves starting with oblique bends at the 17th fret, where you're holding the 17th on the high E and then doing the bend on the 17th on the B string. You do this four times, and after the fourth leg, pick across them, releasing it in and going back to the previous notes. Then, you hammer and slide between 15 and 17 on the G string, moving up and down between those two frets. This creates a smooth transition between the different parts of the solo.

Next, you're going to do a quick little hammer pool from 12 to 14 on the D string, hammering each note before picking it again. Then, you move on to this cool lick sounds like this all right, where you hyper pick between the notes on the G and high E strings. This creates a fast-paced and intricate section of the solo.

Now that we've covered some of the licks, let's talk about the outro solo. It starts with oblique bends again at the 17th fret, but this time, there are no double stops. Instead, you start by standing on the nine 2 seven eight nine seven again ecology, resolving over to the nine of the DS (down stroke). Then, grab not the nine on both the G and B together for a brief moment.

After that, you return to playing the same lick as before, but with just one nine instead of two. This creates a slightly different feel and tone compared to the previous section. The solo ends with an oblique bend at the 10th fret on the B string, bringing the piece full circle.

Overall, this solo requires a combination of smooth transitions, intricate licks, and precise bends. By mastering these techniques, guitar players can create complex and engaging solos that showcase their technical skills.

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enhey guys it's Carl Brown for guitar lessons 365.com today we're going to learn the solos too hard to handle by the Black Crowes so these are some really fun solos especially the alto solo we'll take a look at that one next we're going to do the main solo hear what I just played we're in standard tuning so let's get to work here we're going to start with a couple I have some few half-step bands here the ninth fret on the B string just a half step in there let that third wooden ring out and then you're going to pick it when it's already bent and released up in back down then you gonna pick seventh fret on the B backed in on nine on the G that is and then back to seven on the beach all right now we're going to pull off ten nine to seven on the g string then you can do a roll from nine to on the g29 on the G we have this so far then you get a hammer on it seven to eight on the G and then nine on the D like three times altogether next phrase all right so with sliding into the 11th fret on the a-string there and you're gonna hit the 9 on the D with a little harmonic and the same thing on the 12th a little pinch harmonic just kind of dig into the string you probably find it a nice automata then you get a pick 12 again and pull off the 9 back to the 11 on the a and back to the 9 on the d twice then basically do the same leg it's to nine to twelve and this time though you're going to pull off 11 to 9 and then over to lovin on the a fact that none of these we had this hmm next phrase alright so that's the more have set bins there at the 9th fret one release pull off to seven and then to hole stat bins at this 10th fret on the B string then win a slide up to the 13th fret on the G over to 12 on the B so that's basically that little pull off lick after you slide into the 13 then play the 12 you're going to pull off 14 to 12 on the B over to 13 on the G then move basically these two fingers here move them up one fret each so now you're going to pull off from 15 to 12 and play 14 on the g string and end it with the 12th fret day on the beat a little lick all right and we had this thing that ends it here so that's an oblique Bend so you're going to be bending at the 17th fret on the B string and as you do that you're going to grab the 17th on the high E I pick back and forth between them as you continue holding that bin then Bend again and do the same look again and then you're going to pick that note release the bend pick the 15th fret and then whole step Bend now the 17th on the high E so we had this all together all right so now let's go to the outro solo it's going to start kind of with some oblique bends as well let me play through that whole thing for you real quick here we go mm-hmm all right so that was a lot of fun so we're back here to these oblique bends at the 17th fret you're going to be holding the 17 the high E and then doing the bend on the 17 on the B string do that four times and after the fourth leg pick across them you gonna release it in and you're gonna release that then and go 15 17 15 twice over 216 on the G then we have this mmm that's a quick little hammer pool from 12 to 14 on the D string hammer and then pick 14 to 12 over the 40 on the a all right now we had this cool lick sounds like this all right so you can hyper pick this if you can hybrid pick which would be meaning picking the notes that happen on the g-string double hammer on and then the top string with your middle finger or you do a Down stroke and then come over and hit it up stroke that'll take you back in the direction of it so you're always picking the direction of the next to hit so this these notes are going to be hammering you'll pick 18 hammer 19 and then pate place 16 on the high E string so this so you're gonna repeat that song so after you've done it four times you're gonna do this little blip it's going to pull off 19 to 18 to 16 over to 18 Luigi back to 16 on the g all right then back to that same look again I believe just three times and this time he's going to pull off 19 to 18 and then end on that 16 alright now we have this next phrase all right cool little descending thing that's a whole step been at the 17th fret on the high E release take it again and then pull off 17 and 16 down to 14 now for 1017 on the be back to the 14 on the high E then pull off 15 to 14 on the beach now I'm going to pick 16 14 on the G then 16 15 14 on the D down to 12 was a shift then 14 on the a twice hmm mm all right just ending lick sounds like this all right so we're gonna do some kind of double stops there but the first time through there's no double stops what it's gonna go that's kind of uh standing on the nine two seven eight nine seven again ecology there it resolves over to the nine of the DS all right now when we do that we're going to grab not the nine on both the G and the B together kind of kind of really just kind of digging in slide bend towards the floor so you do that - seven then again seven to nine and then grab the band at the tenth fret on the B really quick for this all right and then we're back kind of the same as the first lick just with the the two nines together instead of just one nine and the last one that's the to 9 1 min 7 co-op 9 to 7 MIDI and end it with that 10th fret Bend all right that's it so hope you guys enjoyed it I'll see you
