The Truth About My Phone Gaming Habits
I don't really play that many games on my phone or tablet, to be honest. It's not that I'm not interested in gaming at all, it's just that I don't have as much time for it as I'd like. And when I do install a game, it's usually just to test out the hardware and see how well it runs. But lately, there hasn't been many new games that are graphically intensive enough to really show off the power of my phone or tablet.
As a result, I've always gone back to playing Real Racing 3, Asphalt, and Modern Combat 5. These games have proven to me that my newer phones can handle more demanding titles, but they're also a few years old now, and any phone from 2016 or 2017 can run them almost flawlessly. That's why I'm really excited about Grid Autosport, which is available for iOS only at the moment.
Grid Autosport is developed by Feral Interactive, and according to their claims, it offers console-level graphics on your phone. And let me tell you, playing it is absolutely incredible. It's like a real racing game that you'd find on consoles, but with all the convenience of playing on your mobile device. The game has 100 cars and 100 circuits, and they're all huge in terms of storage space. A minimum of 6 gigabytes download is required, but if you also download the HD textures and car pack, which are free, you'll need around 8 gigabytes.
The graphics are truly impressive, with PS3-quality visuals that have been enhanced with a few modern effects. However, there's definitely a lack of anti-aliasing, and the resolution isn't super high. But overall, it looks fantastic, and the game takes full advantage of the more recent hardware on my iPhone 10.
It's worth noting that Grid Autosport is not just about graphics; it's also about gameplay and mechanics. While these aspects are important for most people, I'm a tech reviewer who wants to use this game as a benchmark to show off the best visuals possible on my phone or tablet. And let me tell you, it's a lot of fun to play, even if it's not something that everyone would be interested in.
One thing that's worth mentioning is that Grid Autosport is quite pricey at $9.99, which is the same in pounds and dollars. However, considering the game's quality and the amount of content included, I think it's well worth the price.
