My Xbox Series X Unboxing Experience: A Hands-On Look at Microsoft's Latest Console
As I opened my brand new Xbox Series X, I couldn't help but notice that it feels kind of heavy. One thing that immediately caught my attention was the fact that it rocks on flat surfaces. I'm not sure if this is just a minor design quirk or a major issue, but it's definitely something to consider when placing your console.
On the other hand, I have to say that I'm absolutely loving the Share Button feature. It's one area where Xbox sorely missed out in last generation, and Microsoft has finally caught up with this latest console. The simple yet effective design of the share button is a godsend for social media enthusiasts like myself, who love sharing screenshots and videos. Being able to do so easily on my new Xbox Series X is a game-changer.
Now that I have my hands on the console, let's take a look at its design. I have to say that it looks like a PC tower, but in a good way. The vertical design is very clean and sleek, with a big fan at the top that pushes air out constantly. I'm impressed by how quiet this thing is - even when it's running full load, it's almost whisper quiet. It's definitely one of the quietest gaming consoles I've ever used.
One of the things I find particularly interesting about the Xbox Series X is its size. Compared to other gaming consoles on the market, it's relatively small. In fact, it's so compact that it looks like a toy next to the larger console cases from previous generations. But despite its compact size, this little beast packs a punch.
When I look at the back of the console, I see a neatly organized layout with all the necessary ports and connections. There's an Ethernet port, two USB slots, an HDMI output, and even a storage expansion slot (although I'm not sure if I'll ever need to use that). The Kensington lock on the front is also a nice touch.
I have to admit, I was initially excited to see what the Xbox Series X would look like compared to its predecessor. Would it be more powerful? Would it have better performance? And most importantly, how would it feel in my hands? After spending some time with this console, I'm happy to say that it's exceeded my expectations in every way.
One of the things that really stands out about the Xbox Series X is its build quality. It feels solid and durable, like a premium product that will last for years to come. And that's exactly what it is - Microsoft has done an excellent job of designing a console that not only looks good but also performs flawlessly.
As I look at the Xbox Series X in all its glory, I'm struck by how subtle yet elegant the design is. The words "Xbox" and "hello from Seattle" are subtly embossed into the surface of the console, adding a touch of personality to this sleek machine. It's clear that Microsoft put thought and care into designing every aspect of this console.
Now, I know what you're thinking - will I be using my Xbox Series X? Unfortunately, I won't be playing with it too much today (I'm on break from streaming tonight). But I am going to temporarily connect it to my living room setup and get everything set up. And who knows, maybe I'll even start downloading some games that I've been wanting to play.
In the meantime, I want to thank all of you for watching this unboxing video. "WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: eni know what you're thinking or maybe you're not i don't know david why did you buy an xbox series s if you're already very very happy with the xbox series x i have my reasons hello everybody how you doing today my name is david franco from davida friend.co and soon my live youtube stream so make sure you're subscribed and make sure you turn on those notifications because twitch notifications for the past three or so years they were hit and mess with me so yeah i'm hoping notifications when i go live on youtube are more reliable so please click that bell i appreciate your support and don't forget to click that like button it helps a lot okay so it's no secret i am kind of an xbox fanboy not gonna lie i love playstation i love what they've done with the console over the years i still do not own a ps5 but with that said xbox has always had a special place in my heart in my opinion xbox live is so much better than playstation network is so much better and that's just my opinion i'm not trying to start a fight i love the playstation branding i i just think microsoft is more mature in the whole online gaming scene especially with game pass can we please all agree real quick that game pass is a killer deal seriously if it wasn't for game pass i wouldn't have played games like control and the medium the medium is arguably a triple a title but it was a day one release on game pass and the same is gonna happen with halo infinite you'll see that's huge guys game pass is just an insane deal and that's part of the reason why i got myself an xbox series s on ebay i paid 100 over retail this goes for 300. i paid 400 good math good math but seriously if you're looking to jump into the next gen gaming scene and you don't need or want a series x guys there's nothing wrong with going for the series s it does 1440p gaming which still looks incredible 120 frames per second and believe me once you surpass that 60 frames per second gameplay your mind will be blown because guys let me tell you i am always gaming at hertz upstairs on my gaming pc so to have that similar experience on a console is just incredible and again 300 now granted you're getting a 512 gig ssd you're not getting an optical drive so obviously microsoft has to cut corners here and there but guys got to tell you i got to tell you i've had this console since around christmas and i have yet to insert a physical desk into it yet am i alone let me know in the comments do you prefer physical or digital and that's saying a lot guys like that's saying a lot because i have a video from years ago where i proudly just praise the fact that oh i love physical games i love seeing my collection no no no no no for me personally pc gaming has changed that it's opened my eyes i love just switching from game to game you know what i want to like that's huge i don't have to get up off of my couch and put a physical disc in like it's 2001. is it a laziness thing sure why not but is it damn convenient you bet all right so the biggest reason i got the series s despite already having a series x is for my gaming room upstairs so this unboxing is a little bittersweet it's better because i'm not really going to be using it that much right now because my gaming room upstairs is not currently in service seriously it's not in service i don't even have my new desk yet however that will be here by the time you see this video so stay tuned and another reason why i got this i'm trying to cut this carefully so i don't scratch the box we are actually starting to get series x and series s exclusives for instance the medium outside of the pc world sometimes i just want to play games on console i'm sure many of you can agree with what i'm saying because there's nothing better than sitting on a couch with physical surrounds on a 65-inch 4k tv just that is how you game ladies and gentlemen that's how you game it's a beautiful thing anyway starting games like the medium i'm kind of always telling myself i really wish i could play this on stream and i can't do that on xbox one x but i can do that on the series x and series s and finally then we'll get to the unboxing i promise another huge reason why i got the series s besides being a tech addict and your incredibly generous donations in my twitch chat thank you so much guys really really appreciate it is the fact that i'm looking into installing emulators and downloading a ton of roms on the series s because based on my research i still have a lot of research to do based on my research the series s is a phenomenal console for hacking we overuse the word hacking nowadays i prefer soft modding like a software mod so basically i can install like sega genesis super nintendo possibly dreamcast and maybe like gamecube emulators it's gonna be a lot of fun guys so in other words i'm not only going to be streaming modern games like valorance and warzone and all that good stuff but i'm also looking to expand my streaming library into the classic scene where i can stream old games like vector man and comic zone you guys remember comic zone and yeah i know you can get those games officially through marketplaces but with the hacks you can do on this thing you can play pretty much anything you want anything at least up until certain console generations okay if you're new to this channel and you're like dave it gets idiot boxing already i'm sorry no no you know i'm not sorry i just love to talk that's who i am i'm not your typical unboxer i put a lot of passion you know into these videos i i just don't open the boxes and uh controllers including you go to power cable i'll see you guys next time that's not me that's not my scene it's not my style i'm a huge gamer i'm a huge tech geek and i i love this stuff i get so passionate and plus this is gonna be really really cool for streaming upstairs i cannot say that enough all right what i'm really curious about is the actual physical size of this console is it as small as people say it is well we're about to find out what is the best way to open this without ripping the box there's one more piece of tape guys and plus you can always fast forward you know i don't i don't want to see people complaining this video is too long guys it's 20 21. use use that thing you were born with called the finger and click or tap and then scrub it forward it does wonderful things try it out all right here we go guys xbox series s finally oh my god it is small yo this is a next-gen console guys for 300. 400 for me that is so cool and by the way i busted out my series x because i wanted to give you guys a size comparison also included in the box you get this little uh getting started guide you set everything up using the app but i'm not gonna do that holy that just scared the out of me dude no joke no joke i legit thought i got scammed wow i just felt like seriously i just felt sick i i actually thought i was out 400. i didn't realize there was a compartment i'm used to i'm an idiot okay continuing the unboxing hdmi cable here is the controller i think microsoft calls this robot white i'm pretty sure they call it robot white i think there's batteries in there yeah look at that very very clean design as much as i love xbox though their quality control isn't the best when it comes to controllers i've had multiple controllers have very minor issues so i'm going to do a very scientific test on this very soon stay tuned and of course the power cable i legit thought i got scammed guys because this is my first series s unboxing and i have purposely avoided unboxings because i don't want to spoil the surprise but okay here we go let's do the test let's move this mat out of the way does this sit perfectly wow okay good unfortunately my series x controller it works great it works perfectly fine but one of the things i noticed upon opening it is the fact that it kind of rocks on flat surfaces this one listen it does not that's maui he's playing with the box this is perfect awesome and again here's another close-up of the controller if you're curious and the share button is a godsend that's one area where in my opinion that xbox sorely sorely missed out on last generation because i was a huge fan of the share button on the playstation 4's dualshock controller absolutely incredible yeah it's just a simple share button but when you're on social media as much as i am i love sharing screenshots i love sharing videos and now doing that easily on the xbox is very nice what do we had on the time all right hold on new clip new clip okay let's finally see what the console looks like every time i look at this now i think of like a drive-through speaker because i've seen the memes microsoft isn't the best at designing consoles but i will say i'm a huge fan of this design it looks like a pc tower it's very very clean and i love the fact that it's designed to be vertical because it has a big ass fan up here just constantly pushing air out and by the way this is the quietest gaming console i have ever used seriously it is whisper quiet even at full load even at fuller like it's absolutely insane what they pulled off with this thing i'm curious to see if the series s is just as quiet it's smaller so in theory you're gonna hear a little more fan noise but i guess we'll find out as i use it and plus it doesn't really matter because i'm going to have my headphones on upstairs alright so there is the series s dude look how small this is very very nice it's exactly the width exactly the width of the series x microsoft well done i love consistency so yeah i mean if for whatever reason you wanted to stack these you could i don't know why you want to but hey it's your attack you can do what you want with this you can you can play games on the toilet for all i care all right so let's push this little beast aside love this console and next up is the playstation 5. i am very very interested about it um in that i just can't find one you know so here is the series s design very very small i love it we have ethernet on the back dual usb right there hdmi outs and of course storage expansion i might give in one day and get a storage expansion for this console series x not so much because a terabyte has been very very kind to me and i've downloaded what like 50 or 60 games now in game pass i'll say it again guys game pass is the reason to get an xbox seriously what are you waiting for absolutely incredible deal and of course we get the power over here and this looks like a kensington lock on the front here we get a little drive-through speaker um can i have a number one please no seriously it's a nice design it's simple i think it's built yeah yep it goes vertical or horizontal i don't know which one i'm gonna be doing yet because it depends on how my new setup comes together but yeah we also have usb on the fronts this looks like the sync button to sync your controllers and accessories and of course we do have a physical physical xbox button to uh turn on and off the console so guys there you have it my xbox series s unboxing what a good day what a good day unfortunately i'm not really going to be playing this too much but i am going to temporarily connect it to my living room get everything set up get get my accounts synced and i'm going to start downloading some games on here that i definitely want to play on stream look at the size of this thing absolutely incredible microsoft well done oh and that's cool very very subtle but in the beginning in the beginning in the middle you see that i don't know if you're gonna be able to see that it says xbox hello from seattle that is so cool what a nice touch all right guys thank you so much for watching i appreciate it today's only saturday for me so it's kind of weird for me to know to do an unboxing on the weekend uh but i'm not streaming tonight i am currently on break so i might as well do something with my time right so uh patrons stay tuned you guys are gonna get first dibs on this with that two dollar plus tier early access uh on patreon and everyone else you'll you'll see this in a few days guys thank you so much for watching and of course i hope you're staying safe out there i appreciate your support and i'll see you lateri know what you're thinking or maybe you're
