Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro First Impressions

The Xiami Me 10 Pro 5G: A Premium Smartphone with Impressive Features

Hi guys, I'm Serena, and welcome to my latest flagship review of the Xiaomi Me 10 Pro 5G. This phone is packed with all the features you'd expect from a premium 5G smartphone, including a powerful Snapdragon 865 chipset, a stunning 90Hz display, a large battery, and fast charging capabilities.

As I've been using this phone for about a week now, I can confidently say that it's been an enjoyable experience. The Me 10 Pro 5G costs around $1,100 when converted from euros, which is already more expensive than the Samsung Galaxy S20, Motorola Edge Plus, and OnePlus 8 Pro. However, let's dive into its features and see what makes it stand out.

One of the most impressive cameras on this phone is the 108-megapixel primary sensor. While more megapixels don't necessarily translate to better photos, the idea behind this camera is that you can zoom in and still retain a lot of detail even if you crop the image. And I have to say, the camera did deliver crisp and vibrant photos with plenty of detail.

The phone's design features a distinctive big bump in the shape of an exclamation mark on the back, which houses not one, not two, but four shooters: a 20-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera, a 12-megapixel telephoto lens, and an 8-megapixel telephoto lens. This setup allows for some impressive portrait mode shots, although I found it to be slightly disappointing compared to other devices.

Speaking of cameras, I also tested the phone's low-light imaging, which was surprisingly good considering the limited amount of light available. The phone managed to capture a beautiful cityscape after sunset, although the color rendition wasn't entirely accurate – in person, the sky appeared more grayish-black than it did on camera. Still, it was a nice surprise given the challenging lighting conditions.

In addition to its cameras, the Me 10 Pro 5G also features an AI-enhanced image processing system that can be turned on or off at your discretion. This feature helps inject life into photos, especially in low-light conditions, by boosting colors and details. While it's not a game-changer, it's still a nice touch.

Now, let's talk about the software. Xiaomi's MIUI 11 is layered on top of Android 10, offering a playful and colorful interface that's fun to personalize with various animations and widgets. One notable feature is the always-on display, which shows you essential information like time, date, and weather without requiring you to wake up your phone. Dark mode is also available, although I have to say I miss the more traditional doze mode.

One of the most useful features on this phone, however, is its reverse wireless charging capability. This allows you to top up other devices while your own battery runs out – a convenient feature, especially when you're running low on power and need to quickly recharge your AirPods or any other device that supports wireless charging.

In terms of battery life, I was pleasantly surprised by the Me 10 Pro's performance. While it has a smaller 4500mAh battery compared to its more affordable sibling, the Me 10, I found it lasted me well over 24 hours with moderate usage. When the phone did finally run out of juice, however, recharging it took around 55 minutes – not too shabby.

Finally, let's talk about the design and build quality of the phone. The Me 10 Pro is available in two colors: Alpine White and Solstice Gray. I received the latter by Xiaomi, which features a sleek and metallic finish that looks attractive without being too shiny or overwhelming. However, be warned – this finish does make fingerprints more noticeable, so if you're particular about keeping your phone clean, you might want to consider a different option.

So, are you going to buy the Xiami Me 10 Pro 5G? If you're in the market for a premium smartphone with impressive cameras and features like reverse wireless charging, then this phone is certainly worth considering. While it's more expensive than some of its competitors, I believe it offers enough value to justify the higher price tag.

That's all for now – thanks for watching, and stay home safe until we catch you again!
