Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 Plus Real-World Test (First Impressions & Battery Test)

I've the s7 plus that i have here but it has enough key travel to me to be comfortable to type on and everything is very much set up like a real computer the layout is centered if you've seen some of my past views i just hate when like manufacturers put extra keys on one side it makes you kind of have to type diagonally really annoying but this doesn't have that it even has function keys and the back part of it has a kickstand that you may love or hate but it works fine and it at least is infinitely adjustable basically the trackpad is also smooth and large enough so all good there but what really kind of makes this tablet and its keyboard start to stand out to me which i didn't expect is dex i never really paid a lot of attention to decks when it was on phones right because like the concept is you can plug your phone into something or or now wirelessly transmit it apparently is a new feature but it would then take over another screen look very much like a desktop with windows and all this other stuff but like for me to carry around another screen all the time like i might as well just bring my laptop is always how i viewed it at least but here dex seems to make a lot more sense to me now turning a tablet into something a bit more useful using decks now it's not without its little idiosyncrasies like right now i can't highlight text with the mouse you have to like double click on a word then try and drag the cursor along it just doesn't work great again though very early preview of the device and so software updates are pretty likely before it actually gets released so maybe they'll fix that or change something about that then but overall this dex layout with its windows that you can resize and a complete change of the ui to better suit a mouse and keyboard is definitely better than i expected and you can even set it up so that it will automatically turn on decks as soon as you connect the keyboard which honestly as soon as i connect the keyboard especially with the trackpad and everything that's the only way i want to use this thing i don't want to sit there and try to use it like a giant phone with a keyboard attached to it that just doesn't make sense to me okay my friend is down the street so i'm going to go meet her for a drink but really quickly i just want to test out the front camera which i feel like is a little more important than the back camera on these type of devices because it's a tablet please don't run around and take photos of things with your tablet um but the front camera is important because of all of the video conferencing that we're doing and this one actually seems pretty good and here's what the microphones on it also sound like now real quick though let's check on the battery like we do been using it again here for a while but it is 7 58 p.m and we're at 39 percent oh my god hi i want to talk to my mom really quickly but uh i couldn't hear anything how are you hey okay it's lovely to see them i think we're calling it a night though it is 10 45 p.m and we are at 32 and here is my screen on time and my usage for anyone that's curious now the tab s7 and the s7 plus will start at 649 for the s7 and 849 for the s7 plus and then you add the keyboards up it's obviously squarely aimed at the ipad pro which makes a lot of sense and honestly i think it gives it it gives it some good competition but again really early impressions i've only had it for a little bit i have to give it back right away so just based on my first impressions what do you guys think though do you guys like this device what do you think of tablets in general i'm kind of curious also this is the first robot test i think i've done on a tablet so would love your feedback what can i do better what would you like to see me do with it a little bit more or less or it's obviously very different than a phone or a computer and et cetera et cetera so just love to hear from you guys let me know otherwise though if you like this please thumbs up it or share it's greatly appreciated also check out the rest of the channel if you like what you see there please subscribe and ding the bell next to subscribe so you get notified when i do new videos

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enwe are proud to share the mobile experiences we have reinvented for you good morning good another wearable test today if you haven't already noticed we were just watching samsung unpacked on one of the new devices that they just announced the samsung tab s7 plus their new high-end tablet and they gave me early access very early access to a device so we're gonna test it out now if you're not familiar a real world test here is where i'm gonna use the device as my normal device throughout my entire day and then we'll check in on the battery and kind of see how it does also take some photo samples with it and other stuff like that um this is gonna be a little different because it's a tablet and not a phone you guys told me i should do other devices so we're gonna give it a try um real quick though something we don't usually do right away but let's check in on the battery after watching samsung unpacked on their youtube stream using the wi-fi um that was about two hours it is 11.40 and we are at 80 percent and now we can finally first things first get some coffee so we had a tropical storm recently and it took down a ton of trees but it also took down the entire front of this building a block from my apartment luckily no one was hurt but crazy right oh coffee check um here sitting in the park i'm trying to get a little work done on the tablet and i think this would be a good opportunity to test out that new screen they put on this thing i'm not gonna lie this screen is real pretty i mean it's a super amoled screen it has really good contrast it's really good brightness here sitting outside even in the sunlight as far as it for me to kind of show you with my camera but i can see the screen just fine which i appreciate now they also managed to put a fingerprint sensor under the display on the s7 plus model at least the s7 has it on the side and at first i was kind of like oh that might be awkward to log into but it kind of sits pretty easily right where you can just rest your hand on the side here on the right and tap it to log in and the seven plus model also has a 120 hertz screen which just makes animations and movements a lot smoother now it's not clear to me in the settings if setting this to high locks it at 120 hertz or if it just allows it to go up to that and then like the device decides when to do so but you can leave it on that or set it down to 60hz to save battery fyi i'm leaving on the high mode for this video because i want to know how it does battery wise with that on oh also thanks to that 120 hertz screen partially the latency on the pen has been reduced apparently and i can definitely say that it does feel good to use that pen also attaches magnetically to the top and also the back where it ends up in this little cubby hole when the case is on which i like because then it doesn't fall off when you slide it in and out of your backpack which is cool finally the pen is actually included with the tablet which is just refreshing frankly okay been working here in the park for a bit had a lot of phone calls for a long time so while i was doing that i didn't use the tablet at all but then i did use it for maybe about an hour and a half chrome other things like that so as we do let's check in on the battery for now it is 4 37 p.m and we are at 64 percent okay back in the studio um which if you guys don't know i share the studio actually with a couple of other youtubers you guys might know like mr mobile mike fisher um david amell from android authority mj from gadget match and jaime rivera from pocket now but because of kovid we're not all in here at the same time it's just not safe so we kind of take turns uh and each kind of schedule like oh you're in there for this much time okay cool and then i can come in after and then kind of do it that way i miss them all and i miss working in here next to them but it is what it is while we're here i'm gonna squeeze in a little bit more work i have a friend that is supposed to meet me for a happy hour drink in a bit but i have just a few more things i gotta get done so we're gonna try to do that again with the tab um in the meantime though i do want to talk about the keyboard and the trackpad now again this is a very early look i have not had any time with this thing if i'm honest but initially i like the keyboard it does cost an extra 199 for the s7 or 229 for the s7 plus that i have here but it has enough key travel to me to be comfortable to type on and everything is very much set up like a real computer the layout is centered if you've seen some of my past views i just hate when like manufacturers put extra keys on one side it makes you kind of have to type diagonally really annoying but this doesn't have that it even has function keys and the back part of it has a kickstand that you may love or hate but it works fine and it at least is infinitely adjustable basically the trackpad is also smooth and large enough so all good there but what really kind of makes this tablet and its keyboard start to stand out to me which i didn't expect is dex i never really paid a lot of attention to decks when very much like a desktop with windows and all this other stuff but like for me to carry around another screen all the time like i might as well just bring my laptop is always how i viewed it at least but here dex seems to make a lot more sense to me now turning a tablet another thing i never honestly really use just because it feels like it's a giant phone and i don't necessarily need it it's like a luxury thing whatever but turning that into something a bit more useful using decks now it's not without its little idiosyncrasies like right now i can't highlight text with the mouse you have to like double click on a word then try and drag the cursor along it just doesn't work great again though very early preview of the device and so software updates are pretty likely before it actually gets released so maybe they'll fix that or change something about that then but overall this dex layout with its windows that you can resize and a complete change of the ui to better suit a mouse and competition but again really early impressions i've only had it for a little bit i have to give it back right away so just based on my first impressions what do you guys think though do you guys like this device what do you think of tablets in general i'm kind of curious also this is the first robot test i think i've done on a tablet so would love your feedback what can i do better what would you like to see me do with it a little bit more or less or it's obviously very different than a phone or a computer and et cetera et cetera so just love to hear from you guys let me know otherwise though
