Samsung SCH-LC11 4G LTE Verizon Wireless Hotspot Review
"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enhi everyone this is Aaron for Zillow Tech and we're going to review the Samsung SCH LC 11 4G wireless hotspot on Verizon this wireless hotspot is basically just what it does it's a little box that provides a hotspot so what you can do is turn it on it picks up a signal and provides Wi-Fi so let's take a look at the device itself as you can see we have one button on the front that's on off on this side or the bottom we have a microUSB with a little door here this is used for charging on the back there's nothing else and if we pop the back off we have our battery and this is a battery that provides about two and a half hours on 4G two and a half three hours on 4G and possibly double that on 3G so it depends if you have 4G in your area or not currently I don't have 4G in my area but when I am in a 4G area this is very fast so let's talk about this first so the wireless hotspot it looks good it does what it's supposed to do and does what it's supposed to do and provides a Wi-Fi hotspot let's go ahead and turn it on and you'll see 4G light up this is 3G let's bring this in here wait for it to refocus there we go and as you can see the Wi-Fi lit up we have 4G 3G and that's about it now these lights are red they will go I believe a blueish color when they when they have a signal now the bad thing about this is we have no indicator of signal strength we just know that we have a signal or not now we have a 3G signal and when you're in a 4G area you'll have a 4G signal other than that there's really no indication as to your quality you can see it changes a little bit but it's hard to see they'd be nice with a level we also don't have a battery indicator so that is a little bit inconvenient we are provided with some accessories in the box for charging and that's just about it it have a SIM card since it is 4G but we have a microUSB and a charger and a little documentation and that's all we get with it but it does as advertised so what you would do to set this up here let me grab my iPhone well unlock it and go into settings on my home Wi-Fi right now and what you'll see here is Verizon SCH LC 11 and it's going to ask for the password what you do to find the password is you open the back up it's on the back inside well go ahead and put in the password I can't imagine this is a standard password I would imagine it's per device now I believe you can plug this into your computer and change some of that but it's not really necessary it's easy enough to set up and now we're connected I have full strength as you would assume and we can surf and and what this shows is we're connected it changes to blue and shows that we're connected that's really all there is to it now the one thing that's impressive with this is the speed you'll receive the speed you receive on 4G are faster than most people get in their home let's go ahead and zoom in here a little bit so you can just kind of see it's got a rubbery coating on it and that's about it so the speed you'll get are roughly 20 down on 4G by about two up you'll get those speeds on your laptop or whatever device up to I believe five devices we can connect you at once now obviously those are going to slow down when you're connected and I would suggest connecting one or two devices such as a zoom tablet an iPad a laptop you know you name it whatever you can connect to it and it will work just fine your phone if you don't want to use data off of that so there's not a whole lot more to say other than that it works great it does is advertised and the only thing lacking are the indicator bars and the battery life is is decent but could be better but that's kind of a sacrifice you get with such a small device it only weighs about 2.7 ounces so there's not a whole lot to it and it doesn't advertise so that's really about it now if you have any questions more specific to that price wise I can't really tell you because that's going to vary your area from your carrier and your contract that sort of thing so I would check that in your local area but if you have any other questions related to it anything you've noticed about it please comment below thanks for watching this is Erin we'll see you next timehi everyone this is Aaron for Zillow Tech and we're going to review the Samsung SCH LC 11 4G wireless hotspot on Verizon
