Apple Watch 5 (2019) - Everything We Know!

The Apple Watch Series 5: A Comprehensive Overview

It was quite safe to assume that the main focus of the S5 chip would not be the speed, as you know the S4 is already fast enough. However, it will be poor efficiency, so realistically, the main changes that will be coming through the series 5 will be on the inside with the new health sensors, the S5 chip, and new finishes. The S5 chip will likely bring some performance improvements, while the new health sensors will offer advanced features such as glucose monitoring and air quality meters.

One of the most significant updates to the Apple Watch Series 5 is the addition of a brand-new dedicated audiobooks app. This is a notable departure from previous models, which have relied on the iPhone for audiobook playback. The new audiobooks app will allow users to listen to their favorite titles directly from their Apple Watch, providing a more convenient and portable listening experience.

The Apple Watch Series 5 also introduces a number of new watch faces, including the Solar Dial, California, and Gradient watch faces. The Solar Dial is perhaps the most unique of these, featuring an analogue watch face on the top right. Additionally, the series 5 will feature several new complications, such as wind speed and rain forecasts, ambient noise levels, and voice memos.

In terms of complications, the Apple Watch Series 5 will offer a range of new features, including cycle tracking, strength, and calculator apps. The messages app has also been updated to support emoji stickers, although it's worth noting that this feature has been available on iPhones for several years. Finally, the series 5 will feature Activity Trends, which allows users to compare their activity from the past 90 days to their activity from the past 365 days.

Siri, Apple's virtual assistant, is also getting some significant improvements in the series 5. Users will be able to display entire web pages when asking Siri to search for something online, and they'll also be able to ask Siri what song is playing on their watch or iPhone.

The Mac and iOS side of things are also getting an update with Apple Watch Series 5. The Apple Watch app store can now be accessed directly from the watch itself, eliminating the need to open up the full App Store on the iPhone. Additionally, users will be able to approve display and approval codes for their Mac remotely using the Apple Watch.

The Apple Watch Series 5 is available for purchase now, but it's worth noting that if you have an older Apple Watch model, such as a Series 2 or earlier, you may not be able to take full advantage of all the new features. In this case, upgrading to a newer model may be necessary to experience all the benefits of the series 5.

Finally, IFA attendees can look forward to seeing the Apple Watch Series 5 in person and learning more about its features and capabilities. The author will be attending IFA this week and will be sharing stories, images, and behind-the-scenes content from the event on Twitter and Instagram.

In Conclusion

The Apple Watch Series 5 offers a range of exciting new features and improvements, including enhanced health sensors, improved performance, and innovative watch faces and complications. While it's worth noting that if you have an older Apple Watch model, you may not be able to take full advantage of all the new features, the series 5 is still a significant upgrade for anyone looking to experience the latest and greatest in smartwatch technology.

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enthe Apple events is now official so yeah the next iPhones will be unveiled on Tuesday September to attempt which is you know the following week and then alongside the new iPhones it is very very likely that we'll also see the next generation Apple watch as well the Apple watch series 5 so here's everything we know so far about the next generation Apple watch grab some snacks popcorn milk whatever you want to grab and enjoy if you want to browse privately and securely checkout private Internet access P ia works on Mac Windows iOS Android as well as even Linux and you not only be safe when browsing online but you'll also get access to web sites such as Netflix us from outside us and get access to more movies and more features use the link below to sign up for as little as three point five dollars a month okay so I've been a huge Apple watch fan myself I got a first generation Apple watch when it came out I got a second gen a third gen and the for gen as well the only one that I haven't used for a long period of time was the series three as I didn't find it a necessary upgrade over my series two so you have returned it after about three to four weeks but yeah I've used the series one the series to the series four for an entire year I'm actually two years for my series too so I'm obviously really looking forward to the next series five okay so what are we expecting to see in a series five well since the series four was already the biggest and actually the only real design change that we got when the Apple watch ever since the original one was released the series 5 would be more of like a series 4s this means that design wise the shape of it at least would be identical to the series 4 which personally I don't really think that that's a bad thing because the series 4 already had a great design it had a much more rounded design than the previous Apple watches it had a larger display due to the reduction in the bezel size the back was also a noticeable improvement from the series 3 because it was now made out of glass entirely the heart rate sensor was improved without the ECG meter of the performance was greatly improved with the Apple watch series 4 so that now it's pretty much as snappy as an iPhone is however what will in fact change design-wise are the materials from which the Apple watch series 5 will be made from so thanks to Felipe Esposito from I Hal Brazil we now have two leaked assets from watch OS 6 the beta actually show a ceramic as well as a titanium case and then Mincha cool probably the most well known Apple analyst so far they'd say back in February that Apple will actually release a ceramic version of the Apple watch this year so in case you don't know Apple was actually selling a ceramic version of the Apple watch back in the series three days but it is continued into the series four and at a moment they only have the aluminum model as well as the stainless steel model which is the one that I have right now so the ceramic version of the series three was part of the Apple watch Edition series but since dawn didn't sell that well since you know it was more expensive than the regular models Apple decided to drop it over it seems like they're bringing it back this year and then we're also getting that second titanium case model which should be very similar in terms of the finish to the Apple card which was recently released and that's also made from titanium so this should make that model more durable than stainless steel since you know titanium is more durable DeSales steel and it's also lighter than stainless steel so yeah in that case the Apple watch lineup would be aluminum stainless steel ceramic and I'm guessing titanium would be the highest end and also the more expensive one now I really don't think that this is a good idea for Apple financially just because of how poorly the non aluminum models of the Apple watch have sold in the past but you know I'm still curious to see those finishes okay so what else what else well aside from the new finishes makes you cool reported back in mid-august at Japan display will actually manufacture the OLED displays for the Apple watch series five currently LG's the one that manufactures the Apple watch displays while Samsung is the one manufacturing the iPhone displays switching to Japan display means that Apple will be able to decrease the manufacturing cost of the Apple watch Series 5 by a tiny tiny bit but yeah don't expect this to have any impact on the actual price it just means that you know Apple will be making more money from the Apple watch Series 5 sales and then the third league that we know in terms of yeah Park series 5 comes from an interesting individual on Twitter called mr. whites so mr. White's feeds usually consists of interesting and rare Apple components and prototypes but he actually had some actual leaks in the past which turned out to be quite accurate and he recently tweeted that he believes the Apple watch Series 5 will support blood pressure measurements now I know the images associated with that tweet are a bit on so that looks to be an Apple watch Series 3 but a processor is listed as the s2 for which you know doesn't exist so I have no idea what it that's supposed to be maybe an Apple watch Series 3 prototype maybe but definitely not a 4 and deftly not a 5 so yeah his claim doesn't look that legit considering the images that he posted however how do you believe that Apple will take Japanese 5s health capabilities even further since this is what Apple has been focusing on lately providing health care and health monitoring to users via the Apple watch and then a report coming from Bloomberg back in February said at Apple's currently looking into providing sleep tracking capabilities on the next generation Apple watch sleep tracking would indeed be so so useful but pretty much everyone charges their Apple watch at night when you know they're sleeping and they use it during the day so unless Apple magically creates a battery that never dies which you know they've owned at least not any time soon the only way that the Apple watch can track your sleep would be by using the microphone to detect any movement any ambient noise for when you're sleeping however there are apps that you can actually get to on your smartphone that already do that so sleep cycle is a really good example I've been using that for a few years it's an amazing app not a sponsor but honestly it's a great one so feel free to try it I think it's free but yeah when it comes to first party apps those would be better you know first party app that's built into the Apple watch nightstand mode that'll be extremely extremely useful to have and then another way for the Apple watch series 5 to check your sleep would be doing something similar to the samsung galaxy watch or the galaxy watch active where the battery actually lasts for about three days on average and if you sleep with a watch on during one of those days it will actually track your sleep however many people are actually complaining that it doesn't work that well and the tracking isn't accurate enough so uh yeah there's that now there's a pattern that was found by cult of McPike an April that shows an Apple watch with an air quality sensor so your Apple watch would essentially be able to tell how polluted the air is around you and then give you a warning if you know that's the case and I will also be able to detect carbon monoxide and sound the alarm if you're actually in danger essentially this sensor can detect certain chemicals in the air which means that it could also be used for detecting things such as spoiled food or pretty much anything that could endanger you you know in the air any mold or stuff like that we've actually seen many reports that Apple is planning on adding a glucose monitoring sensor or meter to the Apple watch now fun fact some reports are actually saying that all the Apple watch models from the original one actually have a built-in glucose monitoring sensor as well however this functionality was not approved by the FCC reason why we don't have it enabled on the Apple watches this was probably due to the fact that that was inaccurate enough and you know that's why I was not very activated so that's how that kind of sucks but Apple does have some even more recent patents showing how a glucose monitoring meter would work like on the Apple watch this patent was filed on August 23rd 2018 so yeah last year which leaves Apple enough time to possibly integrate this into the Apple watch series 5 oh and fun fact Apple is already selling a glucose blood measuring tool in the actual Apple Store which does link to your iPhone and the Apple watch so apples clearly interested in their users health or you know under users money by selling them products but anyway regardless of the intention the idea here is that Apple wants to provide their users with more health monitoring tools which I am 100% for also Apple is working on a brand new processor for the Apple a series 5 the Apple watch s5 CPU the s4 was the CPU inside yep a series 4 and that was the biggest improvement that we have regards to an Apple watch processor so that was the first 64-bit up watch CPU it had Bluetooth 5.0 it was three times faster than the s3 which was already a pretty significant performance jump from the s2 and a series four is extremely fast already so it's just as fast at opening apps as my iPhone A's so yeah the series 4 is already fast enough for a SmartWatch but a series 5 with the s5 chip would be you know obviously even faster we'd already have any leaks on the CPU specs or anything like that but it was quite safe to assume that the main focus of the s5 chip would not be the speed because you know the s4 is already fast enough however it will be poor efficiency so realistically the main changes that will be coming through the series 5 will be on the inside with the new health sensors the s5 chip the new finishes as well as watch with 6 and watch where 6 is actually a pretty big improvement so we're getting 5 new watch faces we're getting the new rolls duo numerals moto a modular compact which is actually similar to the original modular face but features some more complications and then we also have the gradient watch face the solar dial the California watch face that's probably the most unique watch face that I've seen on an Apple watch at least since it features an analogue watch face on the top right and then you also have your complications all around that and speaking of complications we do get a few new ones in watch where six such as wind speed rain so you can actually see the chance of rain the ambient noise voice memos audiobooks cycle tracking seller strength and calculator and then aside from this we're also getting a brand new dedicated audiobooks app which is something that we didn't have before we're getting a new calculator app and you voice memos app reminders I mean that's not really new but that's a that has been redesigned and then the messages app finally supports an emoji stickers which is a bit odd because you know the iPhone 7 launched iPhones and launched in 2017 so it's been 2 years and we just got feature emojis on the Apple watch two years later so that's pretty late and then we're also getting something really cool called activity trends which is a pretty swell feature to have because you can compare your activity from the last 90 days to your activity from the past 365 days and you can see you know if you were more active or less active and then Siri is also getting some improvements such as the ability to display entire web pages when you ask her to search for something online and then you can also ask her what the name of a song that's playing is and then Mac and logging via the Apple watch is also getting an update with the ability to approve display and approve a locking code so yeah no more reaching for your iPhone to do that but probably the biggest improvement is the app store so yes would watch my sakes you will no longer need to open up your iPhone to download apps on the Apple watch instead the full Apple watch app store can now be accessed directly from the Apple watch itself so yes watch was 6 is indeed a very welcome update to the Apple watch and if you have a series 4 Series 3 series 2 Series 1 you will be able to take full advantage or you know advantage some of features will not be available unfortunately an Aldi of series but yeah you can install watch ways 6 so if you have the original Apple watch I'm afraid that it won't be supported at all on that ok so overall the series 5 will only be worth it if you have an older Apple watch series 2 or older or if you really need those new health sensors such as the glucose monitoring meter or the air quality meter that Apple might be adding to this watch but you are in that if you already have a series 4 or even a series 3 I would say I don't think that the series 5 will be worth it but let me know comments what do you guys think about the Apple watch series 5 and if you do have an Apple watch which generation which series you currently have now if you want to see more lisa-marie episodes as this one ethylene subscribe unification step the bell icon so that you get
