**Oneplus 70 Review: Strengths and Weaknesses**
The Oneplus 70 is a smartphone that has been making waves in the tech world with its impressive camera capabilities and sleek design. In this review, we'll delve into the strengths and weaknesses of this device, exploring what makes it tick and what could be improved.
**Wide-Angle Camera and Video Recording Capabilities**
One of the standout features of the Oneplus 70 is its wide-angle camera. The phone comes equipped with a 90-degree wide-angle lens, allowing users to capture more of their surroundings in each shot. This feature is particularly useful for vloggers and content creators who want to showcase their daily lives or travel experiences. When shooting video, the Oneplus 70 allows you to move around freely while recording, thanks to its wide-angle mode. The camera also records in 4K resolution, making it ideal for capturing high-quality footage.
**Front-Facing Camera Capabilities**
The front-facing camera on the Oneplus 70 is another feature worth mentioning. While some may find the camera's performance to be less than stellar, we found that it still takes decent photos and videos. However, the camera does have some limitations, such as a smaller sensor size compared to other smartphones on the market. Nevertheless, for everyday use, the front-facing camera should suffice.
**Design and Display**
The Oneplus 70 has a unique design that sets it apart from other smartphones. The phone's raised weight is an interesting feature, but it can be annoying at times due to its tendency to malfunction. We've experienced issues with the screen not turning on or responding randomly, which can be frustrating. Additionally, the phone lacks an always-on display, which is a feature that many users have grown accustomed to having. The AMOLED display is still excellent, but it's a shame that Oneplus didn't include this feature.
**Rear Camera Design and Quality**
The rear camera on the Oneplus 70 is another area where the phone shines. The camera juts out slightly from the body, which can be aesthetically pleasing to some users. However, this design decision may not appeal to everyone. We've been impressed with the camera's performance, capturing high-quality photos and videos even in challenging lighting conditions.
**Missing Features**
Despite its impressive features, the Oneplus 70 has a few notable omissions. The phone does not have a 3.5mm headphone jack, which is a feature that many users still value. Additionally, the phone lacks an always-on display, which is surprising given the presence of AMOLED technology. Furthermore, the device's price has been increasing over time, with the Oneplus 70 launching at around $380. This may be a concern for some users who are looking for a more affordable option.
**Conclusion**
The Oneplus 70 is a solid smartphone that excels in certain areas, such as its rear camera capabilities and display quality. However, it's not without its flaws, including the malfunctioning screen and lack of features like an always-on display. Ultimately, whether or not this device is right for you depends on your individual needs and preferences. We hope this review has provided you with a comprehensive understanding of the Oneplus 70's strengths and weaknesses, allowing you to make an informed decision when choosing your next smartphone.

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enhi there this is Ranjit and in this video we'll be doing the full review for this one plus 70 which was the successor to this one plus 7 and have been actually using this for almost a week now so I'll divided between the pros and cons what do I feel about this handset I have a huge list these are the pros and these are the cons so we'll go over them but before that here are the quick specs for this one plus 70 as you can see it's having a six point five five inch AMOLED screen but now it can support 90 Hertz and finally it is having a proper triple camera setup and it sparked by the new Snapdragon 855 plus SOC and other specs are on the screen for your reference so let's quickly now break it down between the pros and cons and the first thing is and now finally like the one plus 77 pro this also has a 90 Hertz display the regular ones had 60 Hertz so again that's nice and you can set it up by default actually it is set to 90 Hertz but you can toggle it here like this as you can see between 90 and 60 and I did all my testing on this 90 Hertz and then also I got some actually pretty good battery life I was surprised with the battery life and the camera these are the two things that surprised me apart from that very close to the regular one plus N and now this comes with oxygen new oxygen OS app that runs on Android 10 so yes out of the box it comes with Android 10 so again as you can see it has the new Android geishas if you go to the top you get the multitasking tray like this very similar to iPhone and you can switch between the apps like this and to go back to the home for example let's say this app is open you just wipe like this so this works very well and I've been actually using it in this mode also what's more thing that I want to make clear is that as you can see the camera is flickering slightly notice this thing on this is something that is very peculiar on this for example this is also having an AMOLED screen and as you can see the screen does flicker at times but that does not happen with other AMOLED screen for example this is the galaxy s 10 plus I'm just keeping it on the side and if you notice this won't flicker and yes there is something known as DC dimming have enabled it even after that it's happening and it's even on the 90 and the 60 has a normal user would not notice this small issue but if you are sensitive there are less than 1% of people who are sensitive to this they will notice it my camera as you can see is able to pick it up so that is something you have to note I don't know why this is happening but it is definitely happening on this one but anyways let's move to the next thing what I really liked is the build quality still it's excellent I would say they did not compromise on the build quality it feels solid again it's glass back in all those things so again yes it's Gorilla Glass but don't drop it use it with the case and but the buttons and everything have a very good feel they don't feel flimsy or anything so that's actually a nice thing and still it has the in display fingerprint scanner and just like the 1 + 7 + 7 Pro it's very fast I do not have any issues with the same now moving - what are you saying one thing that I really appreciated on this one even the earlier one class had the stereo speakers but on this one they are very very loud and you do get that good stereo separation which was not that effective in the earlier versions of the 1 + 1 + 7 I would say so the speakers are really really good and they are actually very very loud really I had to keep it above AP persons they are so good so that's a big improvement I would say the earpieces acts a speaker and this is also the speaker now moving to the earpiece also as we are talking the earpiece quality is also very good crystal clear in terms of calls I never had a problem also the microphone quality is very good other parties never complained about the call quality now talking about network reception I tested this one with a tel and Gio and here also I would say it's slightly better than earlier versions of 1 + R because in this area I could take some calls with a tail and with Gio I did not have a problem some of you asked me does it support dual voltage yes it does have dual voltage support so you don't have to worry and in terms of general performance also again you don't have to worry it's a typical oxygen OS very clean layout and as it's running on the snapdragon 855 + SOC i did not have any issues in terms of day-to-day operations also the management has been done actually very well on this device now there is one more thing that oneplus said in there what do you say key known that the haptic feedback has improved but frankly speaking I don't see a huge difference compared to the 1 plus 7 definitely still the Pro Series have better haptic feedback don't get me wrong it's much better than way older oneplus devices but I felt that the pro version still has more powerful what do you say haptic feedback yes I went to the settings and made it at the strongest setting then also I feel the pro and some of you have also asked me to compare with the ROG phone - that has definitely way better haptic feedback but nevertheless compared to most other Android phones yes the haptic feedback is actually pretty good on this one now I'm moving to the battery on paper this one just has 3800 milliamp hour battery and I was also sort of worried and yes it comes with the new wrap charger 13 peel and yes the good thing is it can charge it fully just less than one hour so that's actually really nice but talking about the battery life here I was surprised because on paper it just times of 3,800 milliamp hour battery and I thought oh that's less but in real world usage I would say the battery life is actually really good and definitely it is giving me much better battery life compared to the 1 plus 7 almost about 40 to 45 minutes more sot i am getting on this one even with heavy usage as you can see these are some of the stats I was playing Call of Duty continuously for one and a half hours then also I caught a screen on time over four and a half hours and the regular usage you can get about fine half to about almost slightly over 6 hours of screen on time with typical values it so the battery life is also actually really good I was surprised and this is always keeping it at that 90 Hertz not at 60 Hertz so if you keep it at 60 Hertz it might get even slightly better battery life I think so they have done something with the screen that is why it's happening and one thing I've noticed is that when it's on auto brightness this tends to keep the brightness slightly on the lower side so many times I have to adjust the brightness maybe we are playing around with the screen and getting this better battery life now moving to gaming again it's having the Adreno 640 GPU with the snapper running 855 plus and I played pop G and Call of Duty quite a bit and had no issues it played that fine without any issue so in terms of gaming also you'll have a good experience and so like the fact that because it's now having that powerful stereo speakers the gaming experience was actually really really good now let's talk about the camera which I feel is one of the biggest improvement on this one plus seventeen that comes with the proper triple camera setup the main camera is still a forty eight megapixel Sony IMX five eight six but it's the F one point six aperture so gets in a lot of light then we also have a zoom lens which is actually 12 megapixel remember on the one plus seven Pro the zoom lens is just eight megapixel but here you are getting a 12 megapixel and then we finally have that ultra wide-angle that's the 16 megapixel so a very good set up of focal lens that you are having on this one and here are some of the samples that I have taken with this one plus 70 and as you can see the performance is actually really good an outdoor conditions the colors were very accurate slightly oversaturated but again most people will like it and even when you talk about the skin tones and outdoor conditions as you can see it produced very good results also the portrait mode you can get some very good results and now we can shoot the photos in regular mode and also in the zoom mode in the portrait mode I really like the fact and also again not to forget we have that wide-angle lens which is really good but one thing that really surprised me is how this a smartphone performed in artificial lighting and guys I am NOT using the night mode for these samples but again as you can see it was almost pitch dark was 9:30 at the night and look at these photographs that I have taken as you can see this isn't regular normal mode and then also see how good the photographs came yes if it's very very low lighting as you can notice the it becomes slightly on the softer side but still I would say the camera performance in a very low lighting and artificial lighting was actually really really good and here this was a regular shot in the regular mode and here and into the night mode and just see the results yes a night mode you have to hold it for about 2-3 seconds part again you can get some very good results now moving to normal shots that you might take an artificial lighting are these the samples that I took here in the office in completely artificial lighting and you're also as you can see the skin tones etc will produce very wet and also that booking mode did a very good job and so definitely I would say the camera is one of the biggest improvement that I have seen from the one plus seven and as of now would say for the price point of about thirty eight thousand the rear facing camera is one of the best that you can get hats off to oneplus for what they have done with the camera because I feel in many of the shots it is doing better than even the oneplus 7 pro now moving to the front-facing camera it's a 16 megapixel front facing camera and here also as you can see that front facing camera was doing a very good job now moving to video again it also has electronic image stabilization so here are some of the samples that I have taken in terms of video now recording the video and nice thing is that we can move between the wide-angle and regular mode just like this this is in the 1080p I'll also show you one 4k sample and again it's very nice I can also zoom in I'm shooting the video as you can see at 2x zoom this is the regular and I can switch to the wide-angle so really nice to see that in video you can move around while shooting the video recording this in the wide-angle mode and this is in 4k and I'm surprised to see that the 1 plus 70 is allowing us to record in this with this wide-angle lens guys recording this video with the front-facing camera off this one plus 70 and because it employs electronic image stabilization it does crop and quite a bit so you have to stretch your hands otherwise as you can see it zooming quite a bit so that is something you have to note but again because it's having a is electronic image stabilization even if you shoot videos like this that is walk style and I love walking like this then the footage should be fine but again you let me know what do you think about the footage from the front-facing camera of this one plus 17 so guys those were the things that I liked now let's move to the cons that are faced with this device and the first con that I have noticed is that we have the screen like this and this raised to weight is there now it's working but almost about 30% of the time this was simply not working so it gets very very annoying and I have to just press this power button Nutan lock like this this is randomly - stopping working I tried everything in fact I even did a factory we said and installed the what he said wrong then also it's happening randomly maybe and I don't know my unit is having some nice show but this is something that I noticed and now always-on is also not there on this device yes that raised to weight is there it shows you but this always on display as it's an AMOLED they should have given this functionality that is simply not present and I'm surprised that because now Oppo and even real me with real me XT is offering always-on display so I don't get it right oneplus is not implementing that mode because it simply does not have that physical LED notification light so that is something that I'm still missing on this device now moving to another thing is that I would say the rear camera just juts out like this so it's indirectly resting on it I didn't see any scratches or anything till now but that is something you have to note and I don't know some people might not like this design of this rounded camera this reminds me of the earlier Motorola smartphones again that's a personal preference now moving to another thing is that I still miss the fact that these oneplus devices are not having the 3.5 mm headphone jack and I certainly miss that thing on these devices because now the competition is heating up we have the redmi k20 pro which is also having the similar what is a functionality we have the a - 6 Z and now even the a suit ROG phone - and all of them have a 3.5 mm headphone jack and very good quality audio output so I really missed the fact that oneplus is not giving the 3.5 mm headphone jack and I really dislike the fact that in the box they don't even give you a dongle that is a converter from USB type-c to a 3.5 mm headphone jack they should really give that back that is simply missing on the device so you have to again buy a Bluetooth headset so that is something that I'm annoyed they should have given adaptors because even Samsung and other vendors generally used to give adapters and now lastly this is about the pricing I don't get what oneplus is trying to do these days one plus seven they reduce the price to about 33 now with this one plus 70 again they have increased the price to about 38 so I don't know what's wrong with this company aren't they confident about the pricing and one Marian they are increasing the pricing in one Radian they are decreasing the pricing and now the competition is heating up yes I really like the fact that the biggest trump card for oneplus is oxygen OS but other vendors are surely catching up in the hardware space so again oneplus needs to watch that but overall I would say the biggest strength of this device would be the rear facing camera the rear facing cameras are actually really really good on this one and I also like the fact now that we are having that 90 Hertz displayed on this one plus 70 so guys that was my review of this one plus 70 what do you guys think about the same I do let me know in the comment section below and if you guys are still not subscribed to my youtube channel hit that subscribe button the oneplus 70 pro is also launching I will be posting a video about that very soon with my thoughts so again stay tuned I mean these guys that's it for now thanks for watching this is Ranjith and I hope to see you in my next video take care guyshi there this is Ranjit and in this video we'll be doing the full review for this one plus 70 which was the successor to this one plus 7 and have been actually using this for
