VW v Ford v Mercedes - VAN TUG-OF-WAR

The Ford Transit Custom and its MSRT Version: A Tale of Two Vans

As we stood in front of the Ford Transit Custom, I couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement and trepidation. We were about to embark on a tug-of-war challenge against a Mercedes-Benz van, with our trusty Transit Custom taking on the likes of the infamous "Veto". The MSRT (Most Realistic Transit) version of the Transit Custom was equipped with a sporty exhaust system that promised to deliver a truly authentic diesel rumble. But would it be enough to take down its rival?

As we began the challenge, I couldn't help but notice the sound emanating from the back of the van. It sounded eerily familiar, yet somehow fake. A quick investigation revealed that the MSRT version was actually equipped with a speaker system that played recorded V8 noise over the diesel engine rumble. While it may have been a clever marketing ploy, I couldn't help but feel disappointed. Where's the real sound of a V8 engine?

As we continued on our journey, we decided to give the MSRT version of the Transit Custom another chance. We relinked up with the Volkswagen Transporter and prepared for another round of tug-of-war. The VW Transporter was a formidable opponent, with its 2-liter diesel engine producing 206 horsepower and 450 Nm of torque. The MSRT version had an automatic gearbox with seven gears, while the Transit Custom had a manual transmission. But would it be enough to take down the Volkswagen?

As we began the challenge, I couldn't help but notice the VW Transporter's impressive towing capacity, which rivaled that of the Transit Custom. The VW also boasted 18-inch alloy wheels and an automatic gearbox with seven gears. But as we revved up the engines, it became clear that the Transit Custom had a unique advantage - its manual transmission allowed us to control the power more precisely. We switched into second gear, engaging the traction control and taking off like a shot. The VW Transporter was quick to catch up, but our teamwork and coordination gave us an edge.

As we continued on our journey, I couldn't help but feel a sense of disappointment at the Volkswagen's lackluster performance in comparison to the Transit Custom's manual transmission. But then it hit me - perhaps the real advantage wasn't the engine or transmission, but rather the driver's technique and strategy. I realized that our method of switching into second gear, engaging traction control, and taking off with precision was what gave us an edge.

The tug-of-war challenge came to a close, and in the end, it was a narrow victory for the MSRT version of the Transit Custom. But as we stood there, catching our breath and grinning from ear to ear, I couldn't help but feel proud of our team's hard work and dedication. We may not have won in the classical sense, but we had proven that with teamwork, strategy, and a little bit of creativity, even the most unlikely of opponents can be taken down.

As we looked over at the Ford Transit Custom, still grinning from ear to ear, I couldn't help but feel a sense of admiration for its MSRT version. It may have been equipped with a fake V8 sound system, but it had proven itself to be a formidable opponent in the world of tug-of-war. And who knows - maybe one day we'll see an updated version that really does deliver on its promises.

The VW Transporter, on the other hand, seemed a bit deflated after its narrow defeat. But as we chatted with the team, it became clear that they were already planning their next move. They had learned from our tactics and strategies, and were determined to come back stronger than ever. And who knows - maybe one day they'll take down the Transit Custom in a rematch.

As we packed up our gear and said our goodbyes, I couldn't help but feel grateful for the experience. It may have been just a game, but it had taught us valuable lessons about teamwork, strategy, and the importance of adapting to changing circumstances. And who knows - maybe one day we'll see these vans back on the road again, ready to take on whatever challenges come their way.

And so, as we drove away from the scene of our tug-of-war battle, I couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement for what's to come. The world of MSRT vans may be unpredictable, but one thing is certain - only time will tell if these vehicles will live up to their promises and deliver on their promise of raw power and speed.

The Ford Transit Custom and its MSRT version are truly unique vehicles that have captured our attention with their bold designs and impressive capabilities. "WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enhi how are you matt watson here from car wow so i'm sat in a ford transit custom msrt and i'm hooked up to a mercedes-benz veto also known as the v-i-t-o and we're gonna have a tug of war then the winner of this tug-of-war is gonna have a tug-of-war against the new vw transporter so let me tell you about this for transit custom looks a bit different doesn't it that's because it is as i said the msrt version so what does that mean what it means it's got 184 horsepower from its two-liter diesel engine oh yeah it's also got 415 newton meters of torque front wheel drive we've got a six-speed torque converter automatic gearbox got some weight weighs 2.2 tons and the towing capacity 1850 kilos it's also got a lot of kind of upgrades on it as you probably noticed like the body kit it looks cool doesn't it i actually think this looks really cool for a van and then it's got some upgrades here on the inside such as these alcantara seats quite sporty very nice this sport steering wheel which is the weirdest shape ever it's like flat at the sides and the bottom and very fat it says msrt on it there a bit of carbon fiber or fake carbon fiber inserts there's another upgrade with it too it's exhaust we'll test that in a second now all these upgrades add to the price this thing starts at 57 000 pounds for this msrt model but if you want a sporty van this is what you're gonna have to get let me tell you about the mercedes it's not sporty it's very simple it has a 1.8 liter turbo diesel engine with 134 horsepower 330 newton meters of torque it's got a six-speed manual gearbox driving the front wheels it's lighter than this at two tons which could put it at a slight disadvantage however it's riding on normal 16-inch alloy wheels this has sportier tires on it it's got 18-inch more low-profile tyres so that could even things out also the towing capacity of that mercedes is greater than this it's two tons price is a lot less as well 33 000 pounds including v80 simple no grades really i mean it's quite a basic fan so we're going to do a tug of war before we do though if you're thinking about selling your car maybe you need to sell capabilities more two and a half tons it's also got an automatic gearbox with seven gears this time and it's got a dual clutch system rather than a torque converter and i'm not sure if that's going to
