**A Village Under Siege**
The system seemed like nice enough people, but they were not very talkative. It's a shame really, because there was something interesting to say. You had already had a chance to speak with three of his residents before Yann stood strongly built at about 30 years old. His name is Yann, and he's been standing here for what felt like hours.
"Things are not going well," Yann said, bending to stretch his back and flexing his neck muscles. "I've been better this is my third straight day on duty." He looked tired, but determined. "Hey can I help somehow? I believe you can get me a ball of beer from the tavern. Be quiet about it, I don't want anyone to see me drinking on duty."
Yann's eyes scanned the surrounding area, making sure no one was listening. "I don't have that kind of coin though," he said. "If I do, I'll help you out and I'll be stealthy about it." He chuckled, a deep sound. "Seriously, wow thanks your real friend."
Just as Yann was about to continue, his eyes landed on a familiar face across the room. Alexander, another Adam Cadet who had gone missing before them. The two men locked eyes for a moment, and then Yann quickly looked away. He didn't want to draw attention to himself.
Alexander stood up from his seat at the bar, his massive frame towering over the other patrons. His face was familiar to Yann, but he couldn't quite place it. As Alexander approached them, Yann's eyes widened in surprise. "Hey there, lost?" Alexander boomed, his voice like thunder. "What you didn't notice me? I must be a master of camouflage."
Yann threw a quick glance at the sleepy barkeep and the girl sitting at one of the tables, who both seemed oblivious to their conversation with Alexander. He leaned in close, his voice barely above a whisper. "Speak quietly, no one needs to hear us," he said. "People around here are savage. Better not let them know who we are."
As they spoke, Yann's eyes drifted back to Alexander. The big man was eyeing the barkeep with a mixture of disdain and curiosity. He seemed to be sizing him up, his eyes lingering on the barkeep's muscles before moving on.
"Check out his eyebrows," Alexander whispered, his voice dripping with disgust. "A real-life mutant. Is what he is. Most of the villagers are like that. Ugly fellas, inbred and dumb." He glared at the barkeep, who was busy polishing a mug. "Thank god me and you have integrity. We'll never tell anyone."
Alexander's gaze drifted back to Yann, his eyes narrowing slightly. "I started tending to my muscles as of late," he said, his voice taking on a condescending tone. "Doing some bodybuilding." He flexed his massive arms, the skin stretched tight over his bones. "You know I doubt a shrimp like you would find that interesting though."
Yann bristled at Alexander's jibe, but bit back a retort. Instead, he asked, "Yeah, why would you need to stay handsome? You're too much of a material man, chav." Alexander's eyes flashed with anger, but then his expression relaxed, and he laughed.
"Strength is beauty," he said, his voice dripping with sincerity. He flexed his muscles again, the sound like a drumbeat in Yann's ears. "The hidden beauty that makes girls around you blush and drop their pants down."
As Alexander continued to show off his muscles, Yann couldn't help but feel a twinge of discomfort. There was something unsettling about the way the big man flexed his arms, like he was trying to intimidate them into submission.
Alexander's next move caught Yann off guard. "So you know the real deal?" he said, his voice dripping with sarcasm. "You know what I did?" He paused for a moment, letting the tension build. "Nothing just went my own way," he repeated. "Obviously, it wasn't a real baby just some vile mutant pretending to be one."
Yann's eyes widened in surprise, but Alexander just shrugged. "Even if it wasn't a mutant what am I supposed to do with an infant? Eat it? Not my cup of tea," he said, his voice dripping with distaste.
As they continued to speak, Yann couldn't shake the feeling that something was off about this village. The air seemed thick with tension, and the people seemed... different. He glanced around, taking in the rough, rustic surroundings. This wasn't a place where you'd expect to find Adam Cades, or mutants, for that matter.
But as he looked at Alexander, Yann realized that he was exactly what this village needed - someone with strength, someone who could protect them from the dangers that lurked outside. And maybe, just maybe, Alexander's presence would be enough to bring some order to this chaotic place.
