A Book Haul: Exploring the World of Mystery Thrillers and Diverse Love Stories
I've got the fake, and I love the cover - this book is about a con artist, I love like all the different faces that she has but this book is about Shelby whose wife has just died and then she meets Cami, a charismatic woman who is our con artist. Then Cammi loses her job, supposedly has cancer, but Shelby's intuition tells her that something is up with Cami. Cami is also seeing Gibson, which I'm assuming that Shelby doesn't know, who is freshly divorced deeply depressed, and is enamored with Cami. But then Shelby and Gibson find out that cami is a pathological liar, and they struggle to understand what they really want from her. Sometimes they want to help her heal from whatever causes her to invent reality, and sometimes they want revenge. I think that's going to be it. Really interesting thought and character study on a con woman.
Hello so nice of you to join us and why she feels the need to be a pathological liar like what happened to her life to make her that way? Then next up is I have some questions for you, which is a mystery thriller and I feel like I've said I love the cover of every book. That I really love the cover of this book. I feel it could be cool in like a coffee table or something like the colors are just so cool, and this book is about a successful film professor and podcaster named Bodie who is content to forget her past. Her past includes four miserable years at a boarding school, and her boarding school roommate who was murdered. They ended up convicting someone of her roommate's murder, a guy named Omar who was the school's athletic trainer, but it's like very hotly debated online whether or not he did it.
And then Bodhi gets invited back to the boarding school to teach a course, and she is drawn back to the case and all the flaws in the case. I feel like that's gonna be super interesting of the fact that she went to the school in the 90s, and now she's back as a professor, I'm curious how much time has passed, and how much the school is different. Do the same faculty still work there? Have a lot of the clues of the case dried up? Then got the guest by Emma Klein, and this is an arc it comes out on May 16th of this year, and it says that a young woman pretends to be someone she isn't, which is intriguing. It takes place in the summer on Long Island, which I feel like is a very fun season and setting.
Our main character Alex has a misstep at a dinner party, and because of that misstep, the man that she's been staying with dismisses her, and takes her to the train station. But she ends up staying on Long Island, and just kind of drifts around. It also says that she has an ability to navigate the desires of others, which I'm curious what that means, does that mean she can read people really well? Or she's like really charismatic?
I feel like that part is really intriguing. Also, it says on Goodreads that it's a mystery thriller, so I'm intrigued, like what our mystery plot is because I feel like the summary of this book is kind of generic. Then and lastly, the author Ashley flower sent me this book all good people here.
This is another mystery thriller, and this is about Margot, and when she was six years old her neighbor who was also six years old named January was killed, which was always so sad that his six-year-old was murdered. Then we fast forward to present day, where Margo is all grown up, she's an adult, and she returns to her hometown, and a five-year-old has gone missing under very similar circumstances.
Margaret decides that she is going to figure out what happened with January's case so many years ago because the killer was never caught. And she's also going to try and find the current five-year-old who's missing. What's really cool and unique about this book, is that Ashley flowers is a podcaster, she has a crime podcast called Crime Junkie. A crime junkie. She writes a mystery thriller, I feel like that just makes sense, and that is all the books I got.
I hope you guys enjoyed this book haul. Thank you for watching. Let me know if you guys have any other book racks that I should get in future book hauls, and also which book do you think is the best? If you've read any of these like which one should I read first because I don't know where to start with this huge stack of books that I have now. And yeah, I'll see you guys in my next video bye let's get scratching foreign
"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enhello today I'm going to be doing a giant book haul I have one two three four five six seven eight nine ten eleven twelve thirteen fourteen fifteen fifteen books today that I'm really excited to show you guys a few of them I bought for myself other ones people have sent to me which is really cool that I'm in a place where publishing companies and authors want to send me books I wouldn't be able to get cool opportunities like that without you guys so thank you guys so much let's get started all right first up are the books that I ordered for myself the first book Is Part of Your World by Abby Jimenez and I have never read a book by this author before but I have heard such good things about her and her books especially this book has I think 4.38 stars on Goodreads which is insane that is so high and yeah this book is a small town romance and it sounds like the two main characters come from very different backgrounds we have Alexis who has ultra wealthy parents she is an ER doctor and then Daniel is a ridiculously hot Carpenter who's 10 years younger than her and as casual as they come and it sounds like Alexis is struggling with whether she can bring Daniel into her world since they have such different backgrounds it says there's so many differences between them how can Alexis possibly choose between her world and his yeah I think it's gonna be really cute and I love how colorful the cover is oh this is heavy this is also the most expensive book I've ever got it is the Mind bleep series and this is the entire series it's books one through five I don't know why for some reason I couldn't by just the first book maybe I am the worst at Googling I don't know I searched so hard to try and find just the first book because I was like What if I don't like the first book do I want the entire five book series in one and it was thirty dollars to get the whole five book series in one which is actually a good deal for five bucks that's incredible but I've heard that this book is like Dexter meets Criminal Minds because our female love interest is a serial killer and the male is an FBI agent which is crazy like that's the most absurd plot I've ever heard this book is also really highly rated the first book in the series is called the risk and it has 4.28 stars on Goodreads which is also so high and yeah I'm just excited that it's gonna be like a Dark Twisted romance and I'm sure that she has like a good reason for killing people I hope but definitely a morally gray main character for sure I've seen that makes books so much more interesting it's been the third book I got for myself is things we hide from the light I have been so excited for this book to come out it is the sequel to things we never got over and this book follows the brother of the main mellow of interest in things we never got over and that brother is police chief Nash Morgan and I just love things we never got over so much it's a small town romance it has such great Side characters just like all the characters in the whole book I loved so I'm excited to like continue with the character's story in this book and especially to focus on two different main characters Nash the police chief was just recently shot and he's got his hands full with the man who shot him still on the loose and the last thing he needs is a smart-mouthed gorgeous new neighbor making him feel things he doesn't have the energy to feel recently I've also been trying to find more Hobbies outside of reading just to break up my weeks and I've started getting really into gaming g2a is an online marketplace where you can purchase steam keys and other store keys for various video games and also the sponsor of today's video they're currently running a fun campaign to get more girls into gaming which I love especially considering that today that I'm filming this is March 8th International women's day and they have such good deals on video games like I'm currently looking at getting the Hogwarts Legacy game which is currently up to 24 off you can also get gift cards at a discounted price like Amazon iTunes Best Buy and so many more retailers so if you're looking for a fun new hobby or already into gaming but looking to shop games at a discount then I would highly recommend checking out gt2a I will have the link to their site Linked In My description so you can check them out and get started gaming and then one of you guys sent me Shatter Me I know this is a young adult dystopian romance series and it is so popular I've heard so much about it so I can't believe I haven't read it yet and the plot sounds really interesting it says no one knows why Juliet's touch is fatal which is just wild that she touches people and they die I assume like that's crazy you would just like bump into someone walking on the street like fatal boom or like you want to like hug your mom fatal like I don't know if that's exactly how her fatal touch works but that's what it sounds like it goes on to say the re-establishment has plans for her plans to use her as a weapon but Juliet has plans of her own after a lifetime without Freedom she's finally discovering strength to fight back for the very first time and to find a future with the one boy she thought she'd lost forever and I love that too that she's like fighting back I feel like strong female lead characters I just love so much and it sounds like Juliet is a fighter and I've just also been really really getting into like fantasy dystopian books recently then another fantasy book is Dawn of Onyx which the author Kate golden sent me so thank you so much Kate golden and this book sounds really cool it's about Arwen who offers up her life to save her brother and because of that she ends up being taken prisoner by the most dangerous Kingdom on the continent and made to use her rare magical abilities to heal the soldiers of the vicious Onyx King and she ends up teaming up with a fellow prisoner to try to escape because the woods around the castle are very dangerous but unfortunately and here's my favorite part he's as infuriating as he is cunning and seems to take Twisted pleasure in playing on her deepest fears so I'm thinking we've got a little enemies to lovers I also did some more Googling and people said it's also found family and like more gray male main character so I feel like we've got a lot of really great tropes in this book then my mom just gave me this book to Bar she just read this book as part of her book club and I have really been wanting to read this book for a while I saw it at a bookstore like a year ago and it looked really interesting but it's called the unanswered letter it's non-fiction which you guys know I rarely read nonfiction so you know it's going to be a really interesting book when non-fiction catches my eye but yeah this book sounds really sad it's about the Holocaust and specifically one family who sends a desperate letter to an American stranger who happened to share his last name and they're asking this American stranger to help get them to America so they can be safe and basically these letters were just in this California person's attic for decades they ended up in the hands of this journalist who ends up writing this book and it says did the Burger's desperate letters find a response did they and their daughter survive did they leave living descendants you will find the answers here and it sounds day it's gonna be really heartbreaking my mom said it's really good then I've got a bunch of books that penguin Random House sent me they sent me killjoy which I actually already own but this is a different cover than the one I own I like this cover a lot more than the one that I have I'll put the cover I have on the screen yeah like the broken plate and like the dinner I just love it this is a prequel to a good Girl's Guide to murder series I feel like I haven't heard anybody talk about this I don't know people just doesn't know it exists or what but yeah it's a little Novella and if you don't know what a good Girl's Guide to murder is it basically follows pip and she's investigating this murder in her town but this being the prequel kind of shows how pip got into investigating murders how that became interesting to her and it is a murder mystery dinner party which is so fun it says six suspects three hours one murder and it also is which I think is really interesting as pip plays Detective teasing out the identity of the killer clue by clue the murder of the fictional Reginald Remy isn't the only case on her mind so what is the other case on her mind do we also have a real case in this Novella I don't know but I really want to read it and it's just over 100 pages so super quick read then I got the island by Natasha Preston and I've read a book by Natasha Preston for I read the fear by her I think I gave it four stars so I'm excited to read another book by her because the fear had like a really crazy ending so I'm expecting nothing less for this one and it sounds like such an interesting concept it says a private amusement park for the very rich which like I don't know why like books about like really Elite wealthy people maybe just because it's so different from my world or anything I've ever experienced I think is so interesting and a private amusement park like that is so cool I didn't know that would exist and it follows six social media influencers with millions of followers who have been invited for an exclusive weekend before the park opens which I also think is interesting how they're gonna do like the influencer social media thing because I feel like sometimes books can do it really cheesy but I love Natasha Preston's previous book so I trust that she will do it well when the teens arrive they're stunned the resort is even better than they imagined the hotel rooms are unreal the theme rides are incredible the island is hauntingly beautiful but soon they realize that something's missing getting off the island alive then another young adult Thriller the black queen I love the tagline it says everyone loved her homecoming killed there and I think the cover is so fun and in this book the first black homecoming queen is dead murdered the night of her coronation and the book follows her best friend Duchess who believes that Tinsley another student is the one who is the murderer Tinsley is beautiful wealthy white and she always wanted to be a homecoming queen she thought it was her Legacy so Duchess is determined to prove that Tinsley is guilty and yeah just something about like young adult murder mysteries are so fun I don't know why if it's just like the high school setting and like running around school and like sneaking out to investigate and I've also never read a book by this author before so I'm excited to read a book by a new author then we've got a fantasy romance midnight Stripes And the tagline for this book sounds so interesting it says between the first and last bells of midnight the world will fall apart and only I know it's coming and this is a Time Loop book I just read the do over Redland painter which is a Time Loop book and I loved it as my second ever time with book so I'm really excited to read a third time Loop book it's just such a fun concept of like the same day repeating over over and over again and it was fun to read how authors tackle the time Loop plot differently and especially in like a fantasy setting I've never read a Time Loop fantasy plot but this book is about 17 year old anias who just wants the Night to End she's basically at this royal ball and she's an outsider she doesn't want to rub shoulders with the kingdom especially not the Natori roguish Prince Leo do I detect an enemies to lovers plot but then at the stroke of midnight an explosion kills everyone including her but then of course we've got our time Loop and she wakes up in her bedroom hours before the ball and then it happens again and again and again so she has to find a way to stop the attack before it happens and there's also like a whole paragraph in the summary about the politics of the world which I think is so interesting I think that's like surprising my favorite thing about fantasy that I didn't expect to love so much is the politics so I'm glad that this summary spent like a good amount on the politics because I know that I will find that super interesting then I got royal blood which is a scale to die for I'm really gonna have a lot of young adult books in this Hall it's about an American girl who is the illegitimate daughter of the king of England which is already just off to like the juiciest start like the illegitimate daughter of a literal King is crazy she's forced to spend the summer in London with her family and the rest of the royal family who aren't exactly thrilled that she exists and her identity gets mysteriously revealed to the world and suddenly the world is dying to believe every juicy lie then media tells about her but then it gets even crazier a fun night turns deadly and she becomes the primary suspect in a murder so I feel like this book has so much to unpack with her being an illegitimate child with the monarchy and all their secrets with this murder that happened the world just finding out that she exists like there's so much going on so I can't imagine that this book isn't super interesting the next up is chaos theory by Nick Stone which is another young adult book and this one is a romance I feel like the Goodreads summary explains the plot a little better so I'm gonna read the Goodreads summary but it says a certified genius living with bipolar disorder and apology son who is running from his own addiction and grief so we've got two characters that sound like have a lot going on in their life and with themselves and it says that this novel is about mental illness loss and discovering you were worthy of love and it also says that the meaning of the title is Finding Love among the chaos and yeah it just sounds like really interesting characters I could be wrong but I kind of feel like we're going to get more of a character emphasis that was just my impression from the summary which focused a lot on the characters yeah it sounds like it's going to be a really cool diverse love story then I've got the fake and I love the cover this book is about a con artist I love like all the different faces that she has but this book is about Shelby whose wife has just died and then she meets Cami a charismatic woman who is our con artist and then Cammy loses her job supposedly has cancer but Shelby's intuition tells her that something is up with Cami Cami is also seeing Gibson which I'm assuming interesting the next up is chaos theory by Nick Stone which is another young adult book and this one is a romance I feel like the Goodreads summary explains the plot a little better so I'm gonna read the Goodreads summary but it says a certified genius living with bipolar disorder and apology son who is running from his own addiction and grief so we've got two characters that sound like have a lot going on in their life and with themselves and it says that this novel is about mental illness loss and discovering you were worthy of love and it also says that the meaning of the title is Finding Love among the chaos and yeah it just sounds like really interesting characters I could be wrong but I kind of feel like we're going to get more of a character emphasis that was just my impression from the summary which focused a lot on the characters yeah it sounds like it's going to be a really cool diverse love story then I've got the fake and I love the cover this book is about a con artist I love like all the different faces that she has but this book is about Shelby whose wife has just died and then she meets Cami a charismatic woman who is our con artist and then Cammy loses her job supposedly has cancer but Shelby's intuition tells her that something is up with Cami Cami is also seeing Gibson which I'm assuming that Shelby doesn't know who is freshly divorced deeply depressed and is enamored with Cami but then Shelby and Gibson find out that cami is a pathological liar and they they struggle to understand what they really want from her sometimes they want to help her heal from whatever causes her to invent reality and sometimes they want revenge so I think that's going to be it really interesting thought and character study on a con woman hello so nice of you to join us and why she feels the need to be a pathological liar like what happened to her life to make her that way then next up is I have some questions for you which is a mystery thriller and I feel like I've said I love the cover of every book that I really love the cover of this book I feel it could be cool in like a coffee table or something like the colors are just so cool and this book is about a successful film professor and podcaster named Bodie who is content to forget her past her past includes four miserable years at a boarding school and her boarding school roommate who was murdered they ended up convicting someone of her roommate's murder a guy named Omar who was the school's athletic trainer but it's like very hotly debated online whether or not he did it and then Bodhi gets invited back to the boarding school to teach a course and she is drawn back to the case and all the flaws in the case so I feel like that's gonna be super interesting of the fact that she went to the school in the 90s and now she's back as a professor I'm curious how much time has passed and how much the school is different like do the same faculty still work there have a lot of the clues of the case dried up then I got the guest by Emma Klein and this is an arc it comes out on May 16th of this year and it says that a young woman pretends to be someone she isn't which is intriguing and it takes place in the summer on Long Island which I feel like is a very fun season and setting and our main character Alex has a misstep at a dinner party and because of that misstep the man that she's been staying with dismisses her and takes her to the train station but she ends up staying on Long Island and just kind of drifts around and it also says she has an ability to navigate the desires of others which I'm curious what that means an ability to navigate the desires of others like does that mean she can read people really well or she's like really charismatic like I feel like that part is really intriguing It also says on Goodreads that it's a mystery thriller so I'm intrigued like what our mystery plot is because I feel like the summary of This Book is kind of generic and then and lastly the author Ashley flower sent me this book all good people here this is a another mystery thriller and this is about Margot and when she was six years old her neighbor who was also six years old named January was killed which was always so sad that his six-year-old was murdered and then we fast forward to present day where Margo is all grown up she's an adult and she returns to her hometown and a five-year-old has gone missing under very similar circumstances so Margaret decides that she is going to figure out what happened with January's case so many years ago because the killer was never caught and she's also going to try and find the current five-year-old who's missing and what's really cool and unique about this book is that Ashley flowers is a podcaster she has a crime podcast called crime junkie a crime podcast or someone who has probably covered tons and tons of murders and other kinds of crimes writes a mystery thriller I feel like that just makes sense and that is all the books I got I hope you guys enjoyed this book haul thank you for watching let me know if you guys have any other book racks that I should get in future book hauls and also which book
