Which Cameras Perform Better - Galaxy Note 8 or iPhone 7 Plus

Testing Cameras on the iPhone 7 Plus and Samsung Galaxy Note 8: A Comparative Analysis

In this article, we will delve into a comprehensive analysis of the camera capabilities of two popular smartphones, the iPhone 7 Plus and the Samsung Galaxy Note 8. The testing process involved recording footage using both devices' front-facing cameras and comparing their performance in various aspects.

Using Final Cut Pro 10 to Analyze Camera Performance

The creator of this video uploaded an interesting video previously, expecting that the camera on the Galaxy Note 8 would outperform the iPhone 7 Plus. However, they were surprised by the footage from the front-facing camera on the Galaxy Note 8, which appeared washed out. The creator attributes this to potentially unfavorable lighting conditions. They decided to conduct a more fair test, using both devices' front-facing cameras and recording additional footage for comparison.

Stabilization Comparison

When examining the rear-facing camera of both devices, it became apparent that the footage from the Galaxy Note 8 was significantly shakier than the iPhone 7 Plus. The creator notes that this is surprising, given the advanced features of the Galaxy Note 8. However, they acknowledge that overall image quality was not drastically different between the two devices.

Contrast and Natural Look

One area where the Galaxy Note 8 excelled was in contrast and deep colors. The creator expresses a personal preference for these aspects, as they are significant to them. When comparing the front-facing cameras on both devices, it's clear that the iPhone 7 Plus produces more natural-looking images.

Motion Test: Autofocus Performance

The creator conducted a motion test to evaluate autofocus performance on the front-facing camera of both devices. The results showed that the iPhone 7 Plus handled autofocus significantly better than the Galaxy Note 8. This was particularly evident when examining footage in Final Cut Pro 10, where the iPhone 7 Plus produced sharper images.

Exposure Adjustments

The creator made exposure adjustments to both cameras and observed a noticeable difference between them. When examining these images, it becomes clear that this aspect highlights the strengths of each device.

Comparing Front-Facing Cameras

When comparing front-facing cameras on both devices, the creator emphasizes the importance of video quality. They acknowledge that audio is equally crucial in creating an engaging viewing experience. This comparison led to a more comprehensive understanding of which device performs better under specific conditions.

Conclusion and Recommendations

The creator concludes by stating that this test was conducted to provide insight into the relative strengths of both devices' cameras. Despite minor discrepancies, it's clear that each smartphone excels in its own area. The most important takeaway from this analysis is recognizing the importance of having choices when selecting a device for photography purposes.

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enthis is my test of the cameras on the iphone 7 plus compared to the galaxy note 8. let's do this okay so yesterday i uploaded a very interesting video and actually very surprising for me because i was fairly certain that the cameras on the galaxy note 8 would look a lot better and then i threw the clips into final cut pro 10 and i was shocked the footage of the front facing camera anyway was just very washed out but then again perhaps the lighting conditions weren't the fairest so i think today is a more fair test so yes right now i am using the front-facing camera on the iphone 7 plus and the galaxy note 8. also it's worth mentioning if at any point i look away from the lens i'm sorry i'm kind of holding the iphone 7 plus on top of the galaxy note 8 so this isn't going to be the easiest video to record and edit but here we go i'm tripping over stuff already so that should give you a somewhat clear indication of how shaky the footage looks alright you are now looking at the rear-facing camera of the iphone 7 plus and now the galaxy note 8 from what i can tell right away the footage is a lot more shaky on the galaxy note 8 whereas the iphone 7 plus it's more stabilized like a lot more stabilized and that's honestly very surprising considering how advanced the galaxy note 8 is but overall i don't think the quality looks too bad but i gotta say the iphone 7 plus definitely looks more natural this right here is where the galaxy note 8 really shines the greens are just popping out the contrast looks amazing whereas with the iphone 7 plus once again i'm going to repeat myself it definitely looks more natural however i think i prefer the galaxy note 8 in this case because i'm a big big fan of contrast and well just deep colors in general now back to the front facing camera on the iphone 7 plus and the front-facing camera on the galaxy note 8. in your opinion which one sounds better well because let's not forget video is important but sometimes audio is more important i mean come on guys let's face it you're not going to watch a good video if the audio sucks right of course not alright let's get a motion test now this is where things get very interesting the iphone 7 plus seems to handle autofocus on the front-facing camera much better than the samsung galaxy note 8. yeah and actually this is the part that disappointed me most within final cut pro 10 because i dropped the clip in and i saw that the footage was just not that sharp but with the iphone 7 plus it looks better in my opinion all right so of course it's worth saying this test is completely relative what i record is not gonna be the same for you and vice versa but i do think this is a fair test i'm not being biased to the galaxy note 8 and i'm not being biased to the iphone 7 plus they both have their pros and their cons now exposure adjustments front-facing camera iphone 7 plus exposure adjustments galaxy note 8. and there you have it a real world camera test of the galaxy note 8 compared to the iphone 7 plus now in your opinion which one looks better the 7 plus or the note 8. now i will say despite being a little disappointed in the note 8's video capabilities i mean at least regards to quality i think the note 8 still takes better photos than the 7 plus however the most important thing to take away from this video is the fact that we have the choice between things like the galaxy note 8 and the iphone 7 plus so what do you guys think let me know in the comments right below and i will see you in my next video peace i don't even know which one i'm looking at anymore youthis is my test of the cameras on the iphone 7 plus compared to the galaxy note 8. let's do this okay so yesterday i uploaded a very interesting
