iPhone 5S Drop Test - Otterbox Defender Series Torture Tests

What's Up Guys? - A Drop Test with OtterBox Defender Series

As Apple Pro here, I'm excited to share with you my experience with the OtterBox Defender Series from OtterBox. Today, I'll be putting this case to the test to see if I can trust my iPhone 5s to it. The Defender Series is compatible with both the 5 and 5s models, so I've got that covered. To start, I'll begin at waist height and go for a one-floor drop. If I can find a location with two stories, I'll take the plunge and see how well this case holds up.

I started by dropping my iPhone from waist height and filming it to show you what happens when you drop a case like this. To my surprise, nothing seemed wrong with the case after that initial drop. What I love about the Defender Series is that it's rubber all around, which means that when you drop it, you won't see scuffs on the case. Instead, you'll notice signs of wear, but not as much as a plastic case would. It's one of the things that drew me to this case in the first place.

Next, I decided to take my iPhone for its first story drop. This was the part of the test where I got a little nervous - after all, it's about 1.5 stories high! But I knew that with the Defender Series, my phone should be protected. As I dropped my iPhone from this height, I couldn't help but feel a sense of trepidation. Would it survive? The sound was definitely loud when it hit the ground, but to my surprise, everything seemed fine. My phone was still running and functioning as normal.

So, what happens if you're just walking down the street and your iPhone gets dropped by someone or something? In that case, the OtterBox Defender Series is designed to protect your device from everyday accidents. For example, if a pallet were to drop on your phone, it would be fine with this case on. You'll know that your phone is secure thanks to the OtterBox.

But what really puts this case to the test is when you need something a bit more extreme. That's where the real-world tests come in. For my next test, I decided to take things to the next level by using an almost 4,000-pound car to run over my iPhone in the Defender case. Now, displacement is all that matters in tests like these - if your phone were on an uneven surface, it might not survive. But in this case, everything seemed fine after the impact. It even activated Siri! Of course, the case did get a bit dirty from the experience, but overall, I was impressed.

For my final test, I decided to take things up to the fourth story in a parking garage and drop my iPhone once more. This time, I wasn't expecting much - after all, the highest drops I'd ever seen were from second-story houses! But when I dropped my phone from this height, I was surprised by how well it held up. The sound of impact was loud, but to my amazement, everything seemed fine. My iPhone had survived not one, not two, but four-story drop tests!

That's right - the OtterBox Defender Series has passed not just one, not two, but FOUR story drop tests! This case is truly one-of-a-kind, and I can confidently recommend it to anyone who wants to protect their iPhone from everyday accidents. Thanks for watching, guys, and have a great day!
