At WWDC Apple Made Available New Developer Transition Kit
Apple made available the new developer transition kit which is a Mac Mini with an A12Z CPU similar to this iPad Pro in it and that is for just developers to make sure their apps work so it only has 16 gigabytes of RAM but someone unboxed it and also did some Geekbench score tests on it and it seems to be very fast for what it is now. This is not an announcement, it's going to be released to the public in fact these are slower than what we should see release to the public so thenumbers are actually quite good, it's about the MacBook Air speed right now but it's just a developer transition kit to make sure that everything works on the new hardware. So when Apple transitions to the new Macs silicon that they have with the A-series processors or whatever they decide to call them everything will just work and all the developers have their apps working properly.
Other than that, we should see an iMac refresh coming later on with an Intel CPU. Apple will continue to release Intel CPUs for a while so expect that. Finally, it looks like we are finally going to get some new AirPods in early 2021. There have been a lot of rumors saying that we're going to see AirPods Pro ear pods light all sorts of things but it looks like AirPods 3 will come out early next year. This makes a lot of sense since we haven't seen any refresh but what they look like is hard to say, they could look the same as they do now or they could look completely different so we may see them like this or we may see something completely different or just a revamped version of in-ear ear pods Pro that are cheaper so it's hard to say at this point but Apple probably has a revised version coming later on.
iOS 14: When Can I Get It?
Many people have been asking me when will iOS 14 come out to the public? When will the public beta be available? When will beta 2 come out? So I wanted to try and answer some of these questions. The first thing is the public version of iOS 14 should be released sometime in September or October. Apple always releases the updates in late September but with possible delays this year with the iPhone 12 they may make the time in September if they do, expect iOS 14 around that's the launch time of the iPhone 12 which is late September or maybe in October at this point.
Other than that, we should see beta version 1 coming out next Monday or Tuesday. Right now, I wouldn't expect it until the 6th of July sometime around then and then we'll see beta - if Apple continues to do things like they have in the past it could be a little bit later even the 13th or 14th or it could be sooner if they want to change things up a little bit.
iOS 14: What's New?
I really enjoy using the features that iOS 14 does have. A few bugs I covered in the follow-up id did and one thing I really like about watch OS 7 is you can see it says good afternoon here's your battery here's your weather and then we can dismiss it so it's an nice little feature that's built in. And something I've noticed that I really appreciate but other than that, I look forward to the next beta.
WatchOS 7: A New Feature
One thing that I've been enjoying using is a new feature on watch OS 7, you can see your battery here's your weather and then we can dismiss it so it's an nice little feature that's built in. If you'd like to get your hands on this wallpaper of course I'll link it in the description as I always do.
Conclusion
If you're waiting for the public beta version of iOS 14 expect that in a couple weeks usually it takes a couple betas maybe beta - if Apple continues to do things like they have in the past, it could be a little bit later even the 13th or 14th or it could be sooner if they want to change things up a little bit. "WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enhi everyone Aaron here for Zolo Tech andthis past week was super busy and filledwith iOS 14 beta 1 iPad OS 14 beta 1watch OS 7 beta 1 Mac OS 11 Big Sur aswell as Apple TV OS updates in beta formand a lot of other information came outabout that including Apple's new Macsthat are using Apple's own silicon orARM based chipsets and so I want to talkabout all of those thingsiPhone 12 information that came out andleaked as well as iOS 14 release datesand and even more a few other things aswell now the first thing is iPhone 12now last year I got my hands on theiPhone 11 prototype case units these arenot obviously real but they are arepresentative design of what it couldlook like so Apple's case manufacturerscan actually make cases around them nowApple does not officially reveal thembut you can see they're pretty much thesame with the exception of the cameraand so as you can see here this is whatit finally looked like but this was thecase so if you needed to make a case forit this is what it looked like it's notrepresentative of course of the finalversion but it's close enough that youcould make a case around it now the newiPhone 12 prototypes were leaked bysunny Dixon as well as Sam from I updateOS so as you can see here it looks likeit's going to have that more squared-offdesign and that's something I reallylike on the iPhone 5 5 s and S II it'sone of my favorite eras as far as thedesign as well as the iPhone 4 and 4sbut I like the squared off edges theyseem to be a little bit more gripfriendly you won't drop them as easilyand I just really like the designoverall and I can't wait to see it on anew phone so it looks like we're finallygoing to get that what the camera arraylooks like exactly it's still sort of amystery but we can expect that in thefuture to have something like we havenow with three cameras maybe a lidarsensor now the next piece of informationabout iPhone 12 is it looks like it'sgoing to have a pro motion display up to120 Hertz so the pro motion display isnot on the current iPhones but it is onthe iPad pro and if you haven't seen onein person it's really hard to explainwhat it looks like but it just makeseverything super smooth so if you'veseen andred phone with faster frame rates orfaster promotion like speed it's justsuper smooth and everything you do soswiping between apps going between pagesis just really nice and smooth and thenit ramps up and down this is similar towhat one plus and Samsung are doing withtheir displays on their phones so it'sabout time we should see that withiPhone 12 now according to Minji Kuo itlooks like the iPhone 12 may not comewith a power adapter now this doesn'tmake a whole lot of sense to meApple needs to provide those for peoplethat are getting iPhones for the firsttime so they could include just thecable but it looks like maybe no poweradapter and also maybe there won't beears in the box now I can see Appledoing a move like that and not includingear pods but they need to include acharger but I've been using this one andpeople have been asking about this thisis not a sponsored video or anything butthis is the one I've been using it worksgreat and it's super small I would likeApple to do something like this whereit's nice and small puts out a lot ofpower and it seems to work fine I use itfor everything from the iPhone to theiPad and even Mac books but there weresome leaks of a new 20 watt poweradapter so that's a little bit more thanwe had with the iPad pro or the newiPhone so maybe we'll have a little bitmore power when it comes to that now itlooks like Mac's wine Beck has uncoveredsome information about the camera in theupcoming iPhone 12 based on the code iniOS 14 he's saying that we may havespeeds up to 4k 120 or 240 for theiPhones camera now currently we can goup to 4k 60 which is nice if you want todo slo-mo or just want a faster speedbut 120 is okay 240 is unbelievable for4k so to go into slo-mo and have thatkind of speed when we have HD for 240 tosee that in 4k if you had the properlighting would be incredible so ifApple's a 14 chipset can handle thatit's possible that the iPhone could dothat with the next version maybe on thepro and Promax versions now finally theiPhone 12 looks like you're going tohave multiple options for 5g and thissort of makes sense there's a couplereasons some people may not want 5g orin many areas like the United Statesvor at least millimeter-wave 5g is notreadily available in fact it's on a fewcorners in a few major cities such asNew York City or Charlotte close towhere I live and you don't really havemuch coverage but you do have sub sixcoverage if you have t-mobile so if youhave t-mobile with sub 6 then 5g makessense if you don't then maybe it doesn'tand it will add an expense to the phoneso offering maybe a lower cost iPhonewithout 5g seems to make a lot of senseand maybe they will do that but we won'tknow for sure until Apple releases theactual pricing later this yearnow ming chico is also saying that wemight see a larger iPad later this yearmeaning a 10.8 inch iPad insteadof the traditional 9.7 or10.2 inch iPad this makes a lotof sense if Apple is sort oftransitioning to a design similar to theiPad pro where they could push thescreen out but if they're just going tokeep the same old style that they hadhere with the lightning port thatdoesn't make a whole lot of sense to mebecause the displays just make it moredifficult for developers to scale theirapps and make sure they work right so Ithink it would have a redesign as wellthat would it be expected later thisyear but also Ming Chico is saying theremay be an 8.5 inch iPad Mini in early2021 now again 8.5 inch isvery large and maybe it's because it hasa newer form factor similar to this iPadpro so it wouldn't surprise me if therewas something new with less bezels andlarger displays but also iPad pros mayget a refresh next year with mini LEDdisplays and Apple's newer a14 chipsetor something else so we're not reallysure at this point what they haveplanned but expect at least an internalupgrade with their silicon compared towhat we have now I don't see that youreally need to do that but maybe they'llbump the RAM again and do some morethings with that at WWDC Apple madeavailable the new developer transitionkit which is a Mac Mini with an a 12 ZCPU similar to this iPad pro in it andthat is for just developers to make suretheir apps work so it only has 16gigabytes of RAM but someone unboxed itand also did some Geekbench score testson it and it seems to be very fast forwhat it is now this is not anyit's going to be released to the publicin fact these are slower than what weshould see release to the public so thenumbers are actually quite good it'sabout the macbook air speed right nowbut it's just a developer transition kitto make sure that everything works onthe new hardware so when Appletransitions to the new Macs silicon thatthey have with the a series processorsor whatever they decide to call themeverything will just work and all thedevelopers have their apps workingproperly now other than that we shouldsee an iMac refresh coming later on withan Intel CPU Apple will continue torelease Intel CPUs for a while so expectthat and then finally it looks like weare finally going to get some new airpods in early 2021 there have been a lotof rumors they look like is hardto say they could look the same as theydo now or they could look completelydifferent so we may see them like thisor we may see something completelydifferent or just a revamped version ofin-ear ear pods Pro that are cheaper soit's hard to say at this point but Appleprobably has a revised version of thiscoming flater on in the futurenow with iOS 14 many people have beenasking me when will iOS 14 come out tothe public when will the public beta beavailable when will beta to come out soI wanted to try and answer some of thosethe best I could the first thing is thepublic version of iOS 14 should bereleased sometime in September orOctober Apple always releases theupdates in late September but withpossible delays this year with theiPhone 12 they may make the time inSeptember if they do expect iOS 14around that's the launch time of theiPhone 12 which is late September ormaybe in October at this point otherwisethat's when the public version will comeout if you're waiting for the publicbeta version of iOS 14 expect that in acouple weeks usually it takes a couplebetas maybe beta 2 or beta 3 before theyrelease the public version and then youcan use it if you'd like to but just bemindful that you won't be able todowngrade without using a computer nowas far as the betas are concernedusually at the beginning of iOS betasthe early releases it's a two weeksso right now I wouldn't expect it untilnext Monday or Tuesday so that meansprobably the 6th of July sometime aroundthen and then we'll see beta - if Applecontinues to do things like they have inthe past it could be a little bit latereven the 13th or 14th or it could besooner if they want to change things upa little bit also iOS 13.6 may releaseto the public as soon as tomorrowdepending on what Apple decides to doapparently the BMW car key feature issupposed to be available by July 1st nowthat doesn't necessarily mean it needsto be because BMW has yet to sell thosecars so maybe it will be available bythen but if not we should see beta 3 bytomorrow or maybe a final release to thepublic and so with iOS 14 I'm reallyenjoying using the features it does havea few bugs I covered in the follow-up Idid and one thing I really like aboutwatch OS 7 is you can see it says goodafternoonhere's your battery here's your weatherand then we can dismiss it so it's anice little feature that's built in andsomething I've noticed that I reallyappreciate but other than that I lookforward to the next beta so of courseI'll have videos on those if there'ssignificant changes in them on the watchand other things but let me know whatyour favorite feature is in iOS 14 inthe comments below if you'd like to getyour hands on this wallpaper of courseI'll link it in the description as Ialways do and if you haven't subscribedalready please subscribe and if youenjoyed the video please give it a likeas always thanks for watching this isAaron I'll see you next time\n"
