Elemental Sports Cars: A Revolutionary Roadster
As we gaze upon the Elemental RP1, it's hard not to think about what a 100,000 pound sports car should look like. The car is an impressive feat of engineering, with a clever carbon fiber construction that weighs in at just 68 kilograms. What's even more remarkable is the ease with which the engineers can convert the car from left-hand drive to right-hand drive, a process that can be completed in mere two hours.
The interior of the RP1 boasts an aerodynamic design that rivals those found in Formula One cars. The engineers have carefully angled the dashboard upwards and positioned the fuel tank in a location where it would normally be, creating a 50/50 weight distribution that is perfectly suited for high-performance driving. Furthermore, the dampers are mounted on board, paired with Nitron shocks equipped with Elemental's own spring specification.
One of the standout features of the RP1 is its adjustable engine. Currently producing 320 horsepower from a 2-liter Ford EcoBoost engine, this car is capable of being fine-tuned to suit any driving style or track conditions. The engineers have also incorporated integrated underfloor aerodynamics, which produces an impressive 400 kilograms of downforce at speeds of up to 150 miles per hour.
As we take the Elemental RP1 for a spin, it's clear that this car is built for performance. With a smooth-shifting electronic gearbox and a turbocharged engine that delivers effortless power, this car is an absolute joy to drive. The brakes are equally impressive, with 300mm discs on both ends providing razor-sharp stopping power.
Despite its high-tech features and advanced engineering, the Elemental RP1 is surprisingly easy to handle. With a subtle traction control system and a gentle kick-back from the ESP, this car feels remarkably approachable. However, as we push the limits of the car's performance capabilities, it becomes clear that the RP1 is no slouch. It handles with precision and finesse, providing a driving experience that is almost indistinguishable from a single-seater racing car.
As we explore the various settings and features on the Elemental RP1, it becomes clear that this car is not just about raw performance – it's also about customization and personalization. With the ability to adjust the stiffness of the car using two simple screws, owners can tailor their driving experience to suit their preferences. Additionally, the car's electronic system allows for a wide range of customizations, including the creation of bespoke track maps that can be tailored to individual preferences.
As we put the Elemental RP1 through its paces on various tracks and test routes, it becomes clear that this car is truly one-of-a-kind. While other high-performance sports cars may excel in certain areas, they often fall short when it comes to handling, detail, and overall driving experience. The Elemental RP1, however, offers an intimacy and precision that is unmatched by many of its rivals.
In terms of comparison to other notable sports cars, the Elemental RP1 stands out as a serious contender for those seeking a truly exceptional driving experience. While it may not match the raw performance of some of its competitors, such as the Caterham 620 or Ariel Atom, it offers an unparalleled level of handling and precision that sets it apart from many others in its class.
Ultimately, the Elemental RP1 is a car that defies categorization – it's both raw and refined, powerful yet approachable. Whether you're a seasoned racing enthusiast or simply looking for a unique driving experience, this car has something to offer. As we drive away from our test route, it becomes clear that the Elemental RP1 is more than just a sports car – it's an experience.
"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enthis ladies and gentlemen is the 100,000 pounds elemental rp1 just clip to the back of your mind for one second what a 100,000 pound sports car should look like because there's so much stuff I need to tell you about this car elemental sports cars was formed in 2012 a chap called John Begley John was an ex McLaren employee he went away decided he wanted to start a giant sports car company so he hand-picked all of the people that he knew had best skills he helped him create his masterpiece so let's start with this really clever carbon Todd everything you see here where's just 68 kilogram and the good people back at elemental tell me that in two hours you can convert this thing from the left hand drive back to right hand drive so let's say you've just finished a little driving holiday you're on the boat by the time you get from Calais to Dover you kid in theory convert it from left hand drive back to right hand drive in a bid to make this thing feel like a real racing car what the engineers back at elemental have done is they've angled the synced upwards exactly the same way they would in a Formula One car and in the space where your legs would normally go which is about here they've put the fuel tank and that aids tools this cars perfect 50/50 weight distribution but as we know in any sports car the really important stuff is how it goes around bends so the dampers are mounted on board and then Nitron shocks with elementals own I back specification Springs also really really clever on this car you can adjust using these two little screws here the stiffness of the car so you can slacken off or you can stiffen it up really simple two clicks either way make some massive difference this bonnet lid feels a bit flimsy but listening only weighs 590 kilograms so I can forgive it of that but this engine what an engine 2 liter Ford EcoBoost currently producing 320 horsepower but it is adjustable and I'll talk to you a bit more about that when we drive the thing right integrated underfloor aerodynamics their words not mine this thing helps to produce downforce 400 kilograms 150 miles an hour and that tells you everything you need to know about this car I just want to go and drive it so let's go this believe it or not is the key big orange fun let's get to know the car with 240 brake and then whenever players are seconds on earth each set then you go up if slackened off the ESP as well so care of it here in the tires it's really give us a beat oh you can hear that traction control here we go all right right turn and here the cameraman feel it moving out full power how the bureaucrat still just holding me back this six be the creature gearbox absolutely fantastic it's an electronic system and there's a lovely mechanical feel to it over to jump fly he feels nothing like any other to needa for Indian I've ever driven he's trying to cross the match versus fibrotic advisor elemental it's not some internal changes ultimately still to leaderboard engine and it's absolutely fantastic and it suits this car perfectly it's a quite a nice pretty rough boat although it's turbocharged really easy to manage it's such an ass the line of bars in this map and that's what it's for the bridge is well the brakes feel fantastic the three hundred four millimeter alcohol brakes four ports on both ends and they are really really sharp they work well you need to give the pedal quite a shove and there's no ABS right on the turn heat up okay here we go we're on roadmap to so we've now got a bow here underneath your Tower I say about we could just close to in development but let's never go Wow instantly instantly it's quick on the boost comes in four star it comes in harder a lower range and when it's giving it all go for it is core now sometimes under steer this thing doesn't at all now front engine really hands on and again it's really critical car to drive steps out be their good loving really to catch as well really easy to catch score reversing camera pumping to another track they special with a reversing camera right I'm going to put it into race map or track map so we've never 320 horsepower and the ESP is in it as 450 as Elementor will allow at the moment and again wow so noticeable sometimes are these settings nothing they're a bit gimmicky not in this every time you up the ante definitely no no you can in fact customize your own maps she going to pay them a visit there pretty much do whatever you want but this is their success its own track map again ESP it on but it says loose aesthetic and my word is this thing quick 590 kilograms he's so so so responsive on the power tiny movements all it needs to correct it even in this track map again that front any hands on so delicate the weighted is absolutely beautiful this far is not in the bottom so Ariel Atom fantastic back mono fantastic Caterham 620 or fantastic any radical you to fantastic but maybe a little bit less usable than the others so whether this thing stand amongst those freight cars well it builds years ahead the relevant wise to the Caterham it's a nicer front end than the Ariel Atom it doesn't feel as savage it sounds in performances there at the 4 and 1/2 alleviate and for that latter I think even the the Caterham 620 are there was a bit more savage in terms of raw performance but what neither of those things have are the intimacy and the detail and the real race marvel that this thing has she's absolutely pin the shore you turning the car loosening this thing is probably as close to a single-seater race car that you're going to get with number Blake you\n"
