A Guide to Finding a Reliable Car at an Affordable Price

When it comes to finding a reliable car at an affordable price, it can be a daunting task. With so many options available in the market, it's easy to get overwhelmed and unsure of where to start. However, with some research and patience, it's possible to find a good deal on a car that meets your needs.

One option to consider is looking for cars that are priced under $30,000. While this may not be as wide of an options pool as higher-priced cars, there are still many reliable models available at this price point. According to Consumer Reports, which searched for cars in the New England area using Boston as a zip code, there were several models available in the Virginia area, including the Delmarva Peninsula region of Delaware, Maryland, and Virginia. These areas tend to have lower prices on cars under $30,000, with some models available for under $10,000.

However, it's essential to keep in mind that many of these cheaper cars may come with higher mileage or be out of warranty, which can be a concern for potential buyers. With so many factors to consider, it's crucial to take your time and do thorough research before making a purchase.

For those considering an electric vehicle (EV), the Prius Prime is an excellent option. This hybrid car offers excellent reliability and is relatively easy to use, with controls that are not overly complex. The Prius Prime is also known for its low maintenance costs and has a reputation for being one of the most reliable cars on the market.

Another option to consider is the 2020 Chevy Bolt. While Consumer Reports had some concerns about the car's reliability in previous years, they have since updated their recall process, which has improved the overall safety and reliability of the vehicle. The 2020 model year Bolt has above-average reliability, making it a more attractive option for those considering an electric vehicle.

Ultimately, finding a reliable car at an affordable price requires patience, research, and careful consideration. By exploring different models and areas, you can find a good deal on a car that meets your needs. Whether you're looking for a hybrid, electric, or gas-powered vehicle, there are many options available to choose from.

Tips for Finding a Reliable Car

* Consider cars priced under $30,000, which may have fewer options but still offer reliable models.

* Look for cars in areas with lower prices, such as the Delmarva Peninsula region of Delaware, Maryland, and Virginia.

* Be aware that many cheaper cars may come with higher mileage or be out of warranty, which can be a concern for potential buyers.

* Research different models thoroughly, including their reliability and maintenance costs.

* Consider electric vehicles (EVs) like the Prius Prime or hybrid models like the 2020 Chevy Bolt.

Common Car Models to Consider

* Toyota Prius Prime: Known for its excellent reliability and low maintenance costs, the Prius Prime is an excellent option for those considering an electric vehicle.

* 2020 Chevy Bolt: While Consumer Reports had some concerns about the car's reliability in previous years, the 2020 model year has above-average reliability, making it a more attractive option.

that's talking cars at icloud.com now onto the show hi everyone and welcome back i'm john linkove i'm ryan pillakowski and i'm mike monticello so we're going to jump into our car of the week which is one you may think you've seen around but you probably haven't but it looks so similar to the regular version you might have seen it if that's not clear enough it's the genesis g80 ev a fully electric genesis g80 sedan it looks so much like the regular genesis that when we borrowed one fr rented one excuse me rented one from genesis i asked why are we renting our eurogenesis we just tested it that that yeah it looks identical it looks identical it looks identical um mike you have you have specs on it because yeah as an electric vehicle it has totally different power trade yeah well first of all i have to correct you on something you're already wrong oh we had a meeting with the genesis folks and they said the correct name is the genesis electrified g80 and and we were like you're not really going to call it that right you're going to call it the g80 ev and they're like no it's official name is the electric electrified g80 not to be confused with the electric slide g80 yes exactly okay okay good um so so it's a strange name but you're absolutely correct and it doesn't say that you know on the back of the car it does not say electrified g8 it doesn't say anything about ev on it doesn't no no no nowhere and um so the specs on it are 365 horsepower and 516 pound-feet of torque and if you compare that to the g80 with the 3.5 liter turbo v6 uh that one has 375 375 horsepower but only 391 pound-feet of torque so again the electric motors really help this thing out and um and that's you know why it has this awesome acceleration i mean not that the turbo v6 doesn't have awesome acceleration but this one has the the usual electric vehicle super smooth off the line and immediate because it can give you all of that 516 pound-feet of torque right now whereas an internal combustion engine can't do that it has to ramp up to its power so um yeah so that's that's really cool the um the the car is not out for sale yet um it's coming it's a 20 it's going to be a 2023 correct um right now some language out there on it is that it has a one-time charging mileage of 427 kilometers which works out to about 265 miles so not a massive distance but not sure that a car like this needs three four or five hundred miles i mean this is the kind of car that has a button on the pass front passenger seat so that you could push it forward so it could be a you know a limo a smaller limo than the the bigger g90 right um which is more like a round town car you know uh to the airport type of car so do you think it needs 300 400 miles yeah i think they all need to have 800 miles of rain because i need a thousand pounds of feet of torque right in crab mode right yeah no i well first of all yeah i think it needs more range 265 miles that's not bad but um it needs to be it needs to be over three okay i think um let me ask money money uh yeah so i mean it's it's that's a little bit short on the mileage i would i would think um especially for a modern eb i also want to say that you know it you might think that they just slapped you know some electric motors in there and a battery but they told us that this car this generation of the g80 was designed from the outset that it would be able to be in eb so and i think that's one of the reasons why it works so well you know other than the only true downside besides the fact you have to charge it and that is a downside right on a trip you know you're gonna have to recharge it's gonna you know it's not like you know a three minute gas fill up sure the other only other real downside that we saw was that it has uh quite a bit less trunk space there's kind of a big hump back there right related to the battery and other you know electrical components like that but beyond that it looks just like the regular g80 drives almost the same as the g80 uh the only exterior difference is obviously you've got this charge port hidden in the front grille so you're not even going to see it it's hard to if you do not know where it is where it is it was it was i took it home one night and no one was around to tell me where it was and i had to youtube it yeah i mean it has a it has a unique rear bumper because there's no uh need for exhaust tips right obviously it doesn't have a panoramic panoramic sunroof you can't get it and then it has uh unique uh wheels to to to the ev yeah well the front grille aside from the the charge port in the grill the grille is it looks like uh you know the the the gas counterpart but it doesn't have whole slots in the grill it's actually like plastic for like aerodynamics yeah no radiator right they don't need right there they don't need all the air to go right but they made it look very like at a quick glance from 15 yards away you wouldn't you i didn't know like when you was like when it first came i said why do we have another and we had a bunch of geds at one point we had a ja g90 and then yeah what do we need this thing again for and it turned out to be electric and then i think even in the scrum one morning we were like is that is that a hybrid is that ev what is that right like i think that's one of the cool things that's exactly why i love it it looks like a regular car and that to me screaming even yeah if i wasn't if i were to own an ev i would want it to look like a normal car i like i love a big luxury sedan i like the looks of that right and the g the g80 is a fantastic sedan on its own the way it was and now this is just an electric version yeah it needs more range um and infotainment still got that a little bit of a iffy system in there yeah with the screen that pops up yes you get the little swipes yeah it's not the easiest but aside from that it drives fantastic it looks great um but needs more i think it needs more range because it's not a it's a decent sized car you could live with it every day do a bunch of stuff with it take it on trips it's a comfortable car but where are you going with 250 60 yeah it's on the trip you know it's a problem yeah everyday use no problem right you know assuming you charge at home no problem but on the trips is when you're gonna have that uh eb issue how does it drive in your opinion compared to the regular one well i think you know the accelerant acceleration is great yeah um i mean like we said it's immediate it's it's smooth it's it you know uh shoves you back into the seat you know um and that part feels great uh the handling i think is a little less responsive than the regular g80 uh especially compared to the one we uh tested which is the 2.5 turbo so it's you know a lighter car this thing's heavier you feel that a little bit but it still does just fine through the corners i thought the ride felt the same to me as the regular one so um the only other thing is uh the brakes uh as long as you don't switch it has this you can change the setting to sport braking for some reason and um if you change it to that it gets a little bit grabby at lower speed stuff but if you keep it in its regular setting it's fine and then you know like other hyundai and kia products it has you can adjust the regenerative braking with the paddles which i just think is so cool because this means you don't have to go into a screen to change it uh you just if you want you can have it on zero regen where it's basically coasting like a regular car or you hit the left paddle and it goes to level one then level two level three and then level four is actually called ipedal and that means uh that's the maximum regen break and that when you let off the accelerator pedal it's gonna break the car it takes about a second it like you know there's a you let off about a second and then it starts aggressively uh doing the rejects it's what others call like a one pedal drive exactly right and i think that's really cool that and then if you're like oh that's too much just hit the right paddle and now you're back to level three or ah level two and and you can change it any time traffic or something like that it's like everyone should do that yeah when i'm coasting down hills i like playing with that i'll just like tight you know make it more aggressive to slow down more depending on the hills and you get to watch how much energy you're getting back it's kind of like a game it's kind of fun i think it's nice you know genesis being the luxury brand of hyundai and you know the hyundai kia but hyundai's the overall manufacturer they didn't change that aspect to make it special for the luxury version oh well this one is a button instead of just it's very simple and straightforward yeah so ryan what what do you think about just living with it driving with it did you fit in it as well because it there's a there's a little change in the floor pan yeah yeah and we kind of talked talked about earlier you know this was designed originally to they had that idea right like so you know you take a tesla for instance they built a car around the battery where some of the early ev's where it was a car that was already built and they stuffed a battery in it so you had minimal range it was awkward it didn't handle right um but when you build a car around that idea you end up with a better setup but um i will say yeah the floor is a little bit a little higher inside and i felt like i was a little bit closer to the ceiling which i was even in the regular g80 i'm a little bit the head room isn't plentiful but it's enough um i felt a little bit more snug because of that um other than that though i really i thought it was fantastic i mean i really enjoyed driving it's just well the the regular g80 is quiet this thing is even quieter i mean it's it's unbelievable it rides well um no weird ev noises no it doesn't ease make uh uh just you know that whining and it seems a little bit excessive it's very minimal it's nothing and so you know so you notice some wind noise on the highway but that's because you're not hearing any power train noises yeah it's quiet really quiet yeah yeah i thought sorry i just thought in general i was like this is a really this is awesome if you could get more range out of this type of a look and you know it would be fantastic but yeah i mean i'm lucky i have a charger in my house so i felt comfortable enough just knowing how to get back i'd be able to charge it up right um and look like i parked it the right way yeah go to back then normally right yeah you know like that i mean you never know with ev's if it'll reach but um i liked it a lot i mean just driving around it it's still it it's a big car it doesn't feel 100 totally big because i think you guys know some of the areas are like the roads become narrow with a lot of construction and you know you could thread it through just like the regular one i agree handling is like a little you can feel it you can feel it's a little heavier it feels a little bigger um but not sloppy no no not at all one so so two questions on this car so we don't recommend the g80 the regular gas g80 because of reliability issues um such a bummer yeah do you would would you if the reliability issues aren't drivetrain related however so would you take the risk on buying this knowing that swapping out the drivetrain won't necessarily immediately address the reliability issues because actually the drivetrain of the gas version is fine in our reliability yeah it was good climate system in-car electronics and power equipment are the issues right the g80 so you can still have those exact same issues with this uh g80v as not being a bespoke ev like the kia ev6 or the you know hyundai ionic five you know were there only those that model what do you mean well would they give you pause range is for you the range and like if i'm if i can i mean this isn't it's not a cheap car okay um if i'm gonna if i could swing even that to you know buy one of these cars that the car is gonna do everything i'm gonna go road trips with it i'm gonna you know and i i don't see the ev aspect working for me yeah so that was gonna be another yeah you know so kind of combining would you if you had the money would you buy the eb the v8 the the gas or the ev and would reliability hold you back or not uh the reliability would give me pause let's put it that way but i'm not sure that it would necessarily because it's such a nice car wet weather whether gas engine or you know turbo four gas engine turbo six gas engine and this ev such a nice car i would still definitely consider it i would be a little worried about the reliability i might uh wait even here see if they can work some of the bugs out uh because they should be able to sure and then so when we get the next round of survey data hopefully we're going to see that the g80 is back with good reliability in those areas yeah um and then you know i'm still i'm still on the fence about evs you know um i don't have a charger yet at home i should get one no question about that and that could make things different but the the trip issue is always is going to be an issue for now until the ev infrastructure gets a lot better so something needs to be done about that and we need them to be able to charge even faster uh you know you know this has 400 volt and 800 volt uh ability but you're still looking at when you're doing 400 volt it's still gonna you know you're going from 10 to 80 uh you know percent charge it's still it's not like it's you know 30 minutes it's it's longer than that you know so uh it's it's over an hour um so this is not uh that and that's just so different than going to a gas station so we're gonna have to wrap our heads around that but also the manufacturers need to keep improving this technology and the infrastructure as far as charging these things needs to get some so better so much better before i would buy an ev i think infrastructure even just generation you know there's there's still a lot of questions hybrids yeah hybrids and plug-ins it makes sense yeah they do well so go to consumer reports uh so there's more it's because we have more information electrify g80 genesis electrified g80 and you will get to our content on that um anyhow that's going to bring us to our next segment which is where we answer audience questions as always the audience questions don't come from us they come from you talking cards at icloud.com send us your video questions send us your text questions but please just send us your questions uh we have one from tim from new england who says i love my 2010 mazda 3 but decided for environmental reasons that once it died i'd replace it with a relatively affordable used ev imagine my disappointment on receiving crs cars issue and learning that both the chevrolet bolt and hyundai kona electric are no longer recommended what's one to do are there any reliable evs with a 200 plus mile range to be had for under 30 thousand dollars or do i have to reconcile myself to a prius prime so we didn't tell each other what we were going to suggest as as we used to do um my oh let me know i want to go last because i'm just going to oh he put the pressure on me so mike what what do you suggest for tim from new england yes so he doesn't tell us we're in new england that's the one thing that's a big area so uh here's what i would say uh you know go for the very related product the is this your choice the uh kia kia niro ev because uh that has the 2019 has strong uh reliability uh good owner sat 2020 strong reliability average owner sat you know owner satisfaction i'm sorry folks just to be clear on our survey stuff from our server this all you know uh reliability data and owner satisfaction all comes from our yearly surveys that we do of consumer consumer force members yeah so so you've got this thing that is you know very similar to the you know uh kona except it's uh kia niro and it has a 239 mile estimated driving range by the epa so that's what i would suggest the only caveat is you know we all know the used car prices have gotten a little crazy uh and you know what with the global supply chain issues and everything that are affecting new cars so now used cars are in short supply and the prices are going up so it's gonna be hard to find one at that sub thirty thousand dollar range but you could probably you should be able to find one in the 34 000 or so range so you have to go a little over you know something i don't i went to consumerreports.org and searched on cars in the area now new england using boston as the as a zip code they didn't have a lot right immediately there but 500 miles away there's a lot in the virginia area right now delmarva peninsula area delaware maryland virginia um lower prices under 30 thousand dollars now they have high miles that's the one thing you're gonna be out of warranty like nobody's business but yeah a lot of a lot of options now i agree there you go i agree there are a lot closer here that are high priced totally but you can hunt if you want to travel a little bit so it's possible so you're saying there's a chance there's a chance there's a chance just like dating there's always a chance um okay you're going last so so you go now i was going to say the same car okay i can't i mean it's a good it's a it's a good car it makes sense it's real it's it's uh it uh is easy to use you know the controls aren't all whack-a-doodle no um so yeah yeah i mean it's yeah what can i say i think he and your ev so ryan that was that is a good choice i you can't get away with that no because i'm not going to say an ev i'm going to say prius prime um don't get stranded or worry about battery life you can plug it in when you want to um super reliable prius good old um prius i i mean i wish we could ask questions back because this is this is only i've questioned is this his only car right where does he you know where where does he live i mean the cold the cold is evie's probably second worst nightmare right so it's it's um i don't know i i'd have a hard time if that was my only vehicle saying that i would going with a straight eevee i would have a hard time you know in a 2010 mazda 3 i mean unless he's just drives it into the ground and he's got 250 000 miles on and it's on its last legs i mean maybe he's got another five years you know and in five years if you cut the mileage down too with another car secondary yeah he said wants it but i'm saying does he mean that it's going to die or it already has well yeah i mean is he yeah so you know maybe we start a new segment where we ask questions back to the audience you know and then i think we should i want to answer i don't i i want answers yeah cr wants answers that's the new that's the new talking card ryan wants the truth um but you know look the 2020 chevy bolt is an option it we don't recommend the bold right um overall because of a number of years have had well below average reliability and they they we yanked a couple of the used one used used car suggestions because of the recall in the stop sale and they said park your bolt and now there's a software update they're not having fires um that's good yeah that's a good thing but the 2020 bolt has above average reliability um so you can get that model year right you know that that's a that's certainly a good a good model year but the nero is just yep has better reliability and i do agree i mean the prius prime if you're concerned about reliability reliability that i mean rock solid and it's it's like that nice go-between right it's like your your ev primer in a sense and you know prius prime if you go from a gas car to a plug-in hybrid now you get to see what's what's that like because you're going to get some ev only range right you're going to see how much of a pain do you think it is that you know to plug it in yeah you know uh and gas isn't going away tomorrow they're not building some some companies may not be building after a certain year any developing any new but there's still be uh internal combustion engines and it will still be gasoline because there's huge selection of gasoline cars still there so yeah you could go with a hybrid like that and be happy for another 10 years absolutely yeah well so we solved tim's quandary uh tim let us know uh so we could talk back and forth do that thing and make ryan happy as always send us your questions talking cards at icloud.com thanks for joining us here in the studio again we'll see you next time youhey talking cars fans we're making plans for our fourth of july episode and we want to hear from you so we know make it more aggressive to slow down more depending on the hills and you get to watch how much energy you're getting back it's kind of like a game it's kind of fun i think it's nice you know genesis being the luxury brand of hyundai and you know the hyundai kia but hyundai's the overall manufacturer they didn't change that aspect to make it special for the luxury version oh well this one is a button instead of just it's very simple and straightforward yeah so ryan what what do you think about just living with it driving with it did you fit in it as well because it there's a there's a little change in the floor pan yeah yeah and we kind of talked talked about earlier you know this was designed originally to they had that idea right like so you know you take a tesla for instance they built a car around the battery where some of the early ev's where it was a car that was already built and they stuffed a battery in it so you had minimal range it was awkward it didn't handle right um but when you build a car around that idea you end up with a better setup but um i will say yeah the floor is a little bit a little higher inside and i felt like i was a little bit closer to the ceiling which i was even in the regular g80 i'm a little bit the head room isn't plentiful but it's enough um i felt a little bit more snug because of that um other than that though i really i thought it was fantastic i mean i really enjoyed driving it's just well the the regular g80 is quiet this thing is even quieter i mean it's it's unbelievable it rides well um no weird ev noises no it doesn't ease make uh uh just you know that whining and it seems a little bit excessive it's very minimal it's nothing and so you know so you notice some wind noise on the highway but that's because you're not hearing any power train noises yeah it's quiet really quiet yeah yeah i thought sorry i just thought in general i was like this is a really this is awesome if you could get more range out of this type of a look and you know it would be fantastic but yeah i mean i'm lucky i have a charger in my house so i felt comfortable enough just knowing how to get back i'd be able to charge it up right um and look like i parked it the right way yeah go to back then normally right yeah you know like that i mean you never know with ev's if it'll reach but um i liked it a lot i mean just driving around it it's still it it's a big car it doesn't feel 100 totally big because i think you guys know some of the areas are like the roads become narrow with a lot of construction and you know you could thread it through just like the regular one i agree handling is like a little you can feel it you can feel it's a little heavier it feels a little bigger um but not sloppy no no not at all one so so two questions on this car so we don't recommend the g80 the regular gas g80 because of reliability issues um such a bummer yeah do you would would you if the reliability issues aren't drivetrain related however so would you take the risk on buying this knowing that swapping out the drivetrain won't necessarily immediately address the reliability issues because actually the drivetrain of the gas version is fine in our reliability yeah it was good climate system in-car electronics and power equipment are the issues right the g80 so you can still have those exact same issues with this uh g80v as not being a bespoke ev like the kia ev6 or the you know hyundai ionic five you know were there only those that model what do you mean well would they give you pause range is for you the range and like if i'm if i can i mean this isn't it's not a cheap car okay um if i'm gonna if i could swing even that to you know buy one of these cars that the car is gonna do everything i'm gonna go road trips with it i'm gonna you know and i i don't see the ev aspect working for me yeah so that was gonna be another yeah you know so kind of combining would you if you had the money would you buy the eb the v8 the the gas or the ev and would reliability hold you back or not uh the reliability would give me pause let's put it that way but i'm not sure that it would necessarily because it's such a nice car wet weather whether gas engine or you know turbo four gas engine turbo six gas engine and this ev such a nice car i would still definitely consider it i would be a little worried about the reliability i might uh wait even here see if they can work some of the bugs out uh because they should be able to sure and then so when we get the next round of survey data hopefully we're going to see that the g80 is back with good reliability in those areas yeah um and then you know i'm still i'm still on the fence about evs you know um i don't have a charger yet at home i should get one no question about that and that could make things different but the the trip issue is always is going to be an issue for now until the ev infrastructure gets a lot better so something needs to be done about that and we need them to be able to charge even faster uh you know you know this has 400 volt and 800 volt uh ability but you're still looking at when you're doing 400 volt it's still gonna you know you're going from 10 to 80 uh you know percent charge it's still it's not like it's you know 30 minutes it's it's longer than that you know so uh it's it's over an hour um so this is not uh that and that's just so different than going to a gas station so we're gonna have to wrap our heads around that but also the manufacturers need to keep improving this technology and the infrastructure as far as charging these things needs to get some so better so much better before i would buy an ev i think infrastructure even just generation you know there's there's still a lot of questions hybrids yeah hybrids and plug-ins it makes sense yeah they do well so go to consumer reports uh so there's more it's because we have more information electrify g80 genesis electrified g80 and you will get to our content on that um anyhow that's going to bring us to our next segment which is where we answer audience questions as always the audience questions don't come from us they come from you talking cards at icloud.com send us your video questions send us your text questions but please just send us your questions uh we have one from tim from new england who says i love my 2010 mazda 3 but decided for environmental reasons that once it died i'd replace it with a relatively affordable used ev imagine my disappointment on receiving crs cars issue and learning that both the chevrolet bolt and hyundai kona electric are no longer recommended what's one to do are there any reliable evs with a 200 plus mile range to be had for under 30 thousand dollars or do i have to reconcile myself to a prius prime so we didn't tell each other what we were going to suggest as as we used to do um my oh let me know i want to go last because i'm just going to oh he put the pressure on me so mike what what do you suggest for tim from new england yes so he doesn't tell us we're in new england that's the one thing that's a big area so uh here's what i would say uh you know go for the very related product the is this your choice the uh kia kia niro ev because uh that has the 2019 has strong uh reliability uh good owner sat 2020 strong reliability average owner sat you know owner satisfaction i'm sorry folks just to be clear on our survey stuff from our server this all you know uh reliability data and owner satisfaction all comes from our yearly surveys that we do of consumer consumer force members yeah so so you've got this thing that is you know very similar to the you know uh kona except it's uh kia niro and it has a 239 mile estimated driving range by the epa so that's what i would suggest the only caveat is you know we all know the used car prices have gotten a little crazy uh and you know what with the global supply chain issues and everything that are affecting new cars so now used cars are in short supply and the prices are going up so it's gonna be hard to find one at that sub thirty thousand dollar range but you could probably you should be able to find one in the 34 000 or so range so you have to go a little over you know something i don't i went to consumerreports.org and searched on cars in the area now new england using boston as the as a zip code they didn't have a lot right immediately there but 500 miles away there's a lot in the virginia area right now delmarva peninsula area delaware maryland virginia um lower prices under 30 thousand dollars now they have high miles that's the one thing you're gonna be out of warranty like nobody's business but yeah a lot of a lot of options now i agree there you go i agree there are a lot closer here that are high priced totally but you can hunt if you want to travel a little bit so it's possible so you're saying there's a chance there's a chance there's a chance just like dating there's always a chance um okay you're going last so so you go now i was going to say the same car okay i can't i mean it's a good it's a it's a good car it makes sense it's real it's it's uh it uh is easy to use you know the controls aren't all whack-a-doodle no um so yeah yeah i mean it's yeah what can i say i think he and your ev so ryan that was that is a good choice i you can't get away with that no because i'm not going to say an ev i'm going to say prius prime um don't get stranded or worry about battery life you can plug it in when you want to um super reliable prius good old um prius i i mean i wish we could ask questions back because this is this is only i've questioned is this his only car right where does he you know where where does he live i mean the cold the cold is evie's probably second worst nightmare right so it's it's um i don't know i i'd have a hard time if that was my only vehicle saying that i would going with a straight eevee i would have a hard time you know in a 2010 mazda 3 i mean unless he's just drives it into the ground and he's got 250 000 miles on and it's on its last legs i mean maybe he's got another five years you know and in five years if you cut the mileage down too with another car secondary yeah he said wants it but i'm saying does he mean that it's going to die or it already has well yeah i mean is he yeah so you know maybe we start a new segment where we ask questions back to the audience you know and then i think we should i want to answer i don't i i want answers yeah cr wants answers that's the new that's the new talking card ryan wants the truth um but you know look the 2020 chevy bolt is an option it we don't recommend the bold right um overall because of a number of years have had well below average reliability and they they we yanked a couple of the used one used used car suggestions because of the recall in the stop sale and they said park your bolt and now there's a software update they're not having fires um that's good yeah that's a good thing but the 2020 bolt has above average reliability um so you can get that model year right you know that that's a that's certainly a good a good model year but the nero is just yep has better reliability and i do agree i mean the prius prime if you're concerned about reliability reliability that i mean rock solid and it's it's like that nice go-between right it's like your your ev primer in a sense and you know prius prime if you go from a gas car to a plug-in hybrid now you get to see what's what's that like because you're going to get some ev only range right you're going to see how much of a pain do you think it is that you know to plug it in yeah you know uh and gas isn't going away tomorrow they're not building some some companies may not be building after a certain year any developing any new but there's still be uh internal combustion engines and it will still be gasoline because there's huge selection of gasoline cars still there so yeah you could go with a hybrid like that and be happy for another 10 years absolutely yeah well so we solved tim's quandary uh tim let us know uh so we could talk back and forth do that thing and make ryan happy as always send us your questions talking cards at icloud.com thanks for joining us here in the studio again we'll see you next time you\n"
