Asus Zenfone 3 Deluxe Unboxing

Unboxing the Asus Zenfone 3 Deluxe: A Long Wait Comes to an End

As we finally hold the highly anticipated Asus Zenfone 3 Deluxe in our hands, it's hard not to feel a mix of emotions – excitement, relief, and a hint of disappointment. The phone has been on our radar for what feels like an eternity, with its release date being shrouded in mystery. After six long months of waiting, the wait is finally over. I'm Michael Josh, your host at Gadget Match, and welcome to our unboxing video.

The box looks almost exactly the same as the one we did for the Zenfone 3 Ultra, which was quite a relief considering this was the most high-end Zenfone 3 model expected from Asus. As we tear off the plastic, we can see that the phone has a unibody aluminum build, just like its predecessor. This means that the Zenfone 3 Deluxe is made of a single piece of metal, providing a premium feel and durability to the device.

First Impressions: Sturdy Build and Invisible Antenna Design

The first thing that catches my eye is the phone's sturdy build. Despite being made of aluminum, it doesn't feel heavy at all. In fact, it feels just about right for a 5.7-inch smartphone. The bezels aren't too big or too small, making the device easy to hold and use. I also appreciate the invisible antenna design, which gives the phone a clean and premium look. When we were in Taipei for the phone's launch, we saw the grey version of the Zenfone 3 Deluxe, which looked even better than this color.

Concentric Circle Design: A Touch of Asus' Signature Style

The concentric circle design is a touch that I appreciate from Asus. It can be seen on the back of the phone, where the main camera is located, and when we flip the phone around, it's also visible in front of the buttons. This design element adds a bit of flair to the device, making it stand out from other smartphones.

Specs Roll In: A Closer Look at the Phone's Features

As we power on the device, we're presented with a spec sheet that outlines all the key features of the Zenfone 3 Deluxe. The phone comes equipped with a 23-megapixel camera, laser autofocus, and an a fingerprint sensor on the bottom of the device. We also see speaker grilles, a USB Type-C port, and a microphone on the right side, along with a volume rocker and power button on the left.

The top of the phone features a headphone jack, which is a nice touch considering how common wireless earbuds have become. However, as we dig deeper into the spec sheet, we're also presented with some pre-installed apps that Asus has included with the device. These include popular apps like Lazada, Viber, Snapchat, and recipes from various news sites.

Bloatware: The Not-So-Pleasing Part

One thing that really gets under my skin is the presence of bloatware – pre-installed apps that consume resources but aren't exactly essential for the user experience. Asus wants to offer these apps as a way to enhance the overall user experience, but I feel like they could have done so without taking up space on our home screens.

That being said, we can easily uncheck these apps if we don't want them to be present on our device. However, it's still frustrating to see them included with the phone in the first place. With great power comes great responsibility, and Asus should know better than to include unnecessary bloatware with their devices.

Conclusion: The Zenfone 3 Deluxe Unboxing Experience

As we wrap up this unboxing video, I'm left with mixed feelings about the Asus Zenfone 3 Deluxe. On one hand, it's a beautifully designed device that feels premium and durable in the hand. On the other hand, the presence of bloatware is a disappointment.

Despite the initial frustration, I still believe that the Zenfone 3 Deluxe has the potential to be an excellent smartphone. With its powerful specs and sleek design, it could easily compete with other high-end devices on the market. However, Asus needs to address the issue of bloatware if they want to maintain the trust of their customers.
