**Canon EOS 70D Review and Unboxing: A Test Drive with Onboard Audio and New Lens**
As I sit here with my trusty Canon EOS 70D camera, I'm excited to share with you a test drive of this upgrade to its predecessor. I've also brought along my set of cameras, including the G7 X and G5 X, for vlogging purposes. In this article, we'll explore the features and performance of the 70D, as well as the new EF 18-135mm lens that comes with it.
**The Body: A Upgrade in Every Way**
The first thing I notice about the EOS 70D body is its sleek design and build quality. It's clear that Canon has made some significant upgrades to this camera, including a more ergonomic grip and improved weather sealing. The battery life is also impressive, lasting up to 440 shots on a single charge - same as the previous model, which is great news for those who don't want to upgrade their batteries.
**Onboard Audio: A Game-Changer**
One of the features that really excites me about the EOS 70D is its onboard audio capabilities. I've been using an external microphone in my previous videos, but I'm eager to see how this new feature performs on its own. The camera's built-in microphones are located at the front of the body, which should help reduce wind noise and improve overall sound quality. I'll be comparing these results with my existing external mic setup to see just how much of a difference it makes.
**The EF 18-135mm Lens: A Quick Tour**
I was thrilled to discover that the EOS 70D comes with an all-new lens, the EF 18-135mm. This lens is designed specifically for high-speed autofocus and features advanced sensors that allow for smooth and quiet zooming. One of the coolest features of this lens is its compatibility with a power zoom adapter, which will enable users to control the zoom using the Canon Camera Connect app on their smartphone or tablet.
**The Power Zoom Adapter: A Game-Changer for Zoom Enthusiasts**
I'm particularly excited about the power zoom adapter, as it opens up new possibilities for photographers who want to take their vlogging game to the next level. With this adapter, users will be able to control the zoom using the Canon app, which is a huge convenience. I can already imagine myself smoothly zooming in and out of shots with ease.
**Upcoming Accessories: The First Canon Branded External Microphone**
We're also expecting some exciting news from Canon soon - their first branded external microphone, set to arrive in June. I've pre-ordered mine and can't wait to get my hands on it and compare its performance to my existing rode microphone. This new mic promises to deliver high-quality sound without the need for cables or bulky external gear.
**Shooting with the Lens: A Test Drive**
Now that we have our camera and lens, let's take a look at how they perform in action. I'm switching between the kit lenses that came with my previous cameras and the new EF 18-135mm lens to see just how much of a difference it makes. The wide-angle lens is perfect for capturing broad scenes, while the zoom lens offers flexibility and convenience.
**Conclusion**
And that's all for today's test drive of the Canon EOS 70D camera body and EF 18-135mm lens. We've covered everything from the onboard audio capabilities to the power zoom adapter and upcoming accessories. Whether you're a vlogger or simply looking for a high-quality camera, this combo is definitely worth considering. Stay tuned for more updates and reviews, and don't forget to check out the links in the description for all the gear I used in this video.

excited about is trying out the onboard audio right now I'm currently using an external microphone which I definitely will put on here as well but I would love to see the comparison between this one and the other one because they now move the microphones here into the front what should help out a lot for not only being able to get your voice of the subject in front of you but also helping eliminate wind about our battery charger the battery that you use for the AED is the same as the 70d which is fantastic because you won't need to upgrade any types of batteries the Sun set we're going to miss the sunset okay and the new lens this is the 18 to 135 now I've got a bunch of the kit lenses that previously come with the 70d and the t2i so I was like oh you know what this time I'm not and those sensors that I'm showing you right here is will allow you to use a power zoom adapter which will only work with this newly designed lens as Canon states in their press release it's the world's first attachable zoom adapter that will provide a silent and smooth zoom I'm doing air quotes but you can't see it what I'm most excited about this is you'll be able to control the zoom using the Canon camera connect app which is canons app that allows you to connect to any of their cameras using Wi-Fi also something cool to look forward to is the first Canon branded external microphone that should be at the end of June I did actually just pre-ordered mine the one that I'm currently using is a rode microphone which I believe is actually pronounced Ruud but I think most youtubers just call it rode I'll put all of the links in the description of pretty much everything that I've talked about and that I use I'll put this on in the car lens is heavy dude that's heavy holy moly pretty sure this battery is not charged no card in camera wow this lens is nice heavy so here's the audio on the ATD no microphone no nothing here's the audio on the 70d with the rode microphone so these are
