The Stig: A Racing Driver Without a Name
There are corners with tricky bumps and cambers designed to test brake balance, and in this particular track, a badly set-up front-wheel drive car will struggle to put its power down at all. To tame it, we needed someone who could consistently post fast lap times. We call this thing the Stig, but we don't know its name, and no one knows its name. We don't want to know because it's a racing driver, and racing drivers have tiny little brains and therefore worthless opinions. They're very dull doctors - actually, they're called Mansell syndrome.
We put the Stig in the Lamborghini, and immediately we knew we had immense power at our disposal. The car has four-wheel drive, which means we need to trim it off the line then nail it right coming over that little light lift. As the Stig takes off, he's coming through Wilson ban, and let's see what happens next. Does he step out of line? He's into third, and oh look at that! Look at that massive, massive oversteer! Right and through the Hammerhead, no understeer at all. Incredible big oversteer - e's trying to take those tires on the left, and he's through! How is it handling Carpenter's corner? This is what you really want, what I'm Leila - oh look at that. Every pair car that goes around our test track is gonna set a lap time; we're gonna put those lap times up here and our power lap time board.
The Lamborghini was one minute twenty-nine, which is extremely good. Okay, fine, now we know the Lamborghini Jeremy can't get on here - just use a simple Lambo, perhaps Safai something like that happens. Alright about it all, we are 129 okay Tom now we know that the Pagani is faster than the Lamborghini in a straight line, we've already seen that but the Lambo I've driven it is fast around corners so let's put the Stig in the Zonda and see what happens.
The Stig comes into the first corner here; how's he looking? He needs to get it right, the way back across the other side. This is the hard one - just look at that! He's really able to find that car even I found it difficult there now, he's coming up really, really hard fast. It's hard on the brakes and return way down into second gear; he's actually gonna have to use first gear. How much is the other staff later? "I'm ahead corner Bobby" - a nice motor steer, that good steak well done in steak and is quite a drive this one right Paula tree. Let's listen now on the brakes there; I'm fighting the wheel, flew that little bit of breakdown in C on the power. Really, it is wet out there for this one, doesn't drive here something still wet, bit damp brake hard and he's in Tubac rock band braking again now for Carpenter's corner.
Turn slightly, still get the power; apologize for the easy-listening soundtrack going on there, it's the Stig it likes to listen to sounds of the lounge as it goes round. We don't know why perhaps it calms it down anyways grim but no need to apologise for that time one minute 23. That's what six seconds off the Lambos' time - that's the incredible thing; it must have made it up in Straits all that time, cuz I know I drove both cars the Lambos faster through common pass where it has the power. One minute 23 almost like ant see being beaten throughout entire series I think we paid neither than I but if you think you've got car which is faster than that perhaps tuned it in plausible I know there you go - why don't you get in touch?
