**HDMI vs Composite RCA: A Side-by-Side Comparison**
In this video, I'll be comparing the picture quality of my Sega Dreamcast console using HDMI and composite RCA cables. As a gamer who's not exactly new to gaming but hasn't been around for too long, I'm excited to share my findings with you.
**First Test: Sonic Sega All-Stars Racing**
I started by playing Sonic Sega All-Stars Racing on both the HDMI and composite RCA cables. Since this game has vibrant colors and fast-paced action, it's a great test subject for our comparison. As you can see in the video, the picture quality is quite similar between the two cables.
However, when I slowed down the footage to get a better look, I noticed that the HDMI cable produced a slightly crisper image with more true-to-life colors. This might be due to the Elgato capture card I'm using, but it's definitely worth noting.
**Second Test: Mario Brothers**
Next, I played Mario Brothers on both cables to see if the results would be similar. Again, the picture quality is quite close between the two cables, with only a slight difference in color vibrance and sharpness.
When I compared the images side-by-side, it was hard to tell which one was which. However, when I looked closely at the transitions on the screen, I noticed that the HDMI cable produced a slightly sharper image with more defined black tones.
**Conclusion**
After conducting these tests, I believe that the HDMI cable produces a slightly crisper and less jagged image compared to the composite RCA cable. This might be due to the improved video signal quality provided by the HDMI cable, but it's definitely worth considering if you're in the market for a new console or gaming setup.
The price difference between the two cables is minimal, with the HDMI cable usually costing around $12-$13 delivered to your door. Considering the improved picture quality and ease of use, I think it's well worth the investment.
**Final Thoughts**
I hope this comparison has been helpful in deciding which cable to choose for your gaming setup. If you have any questions or comments, please feel free to share them below. Don't forget to subscribe and like our video if you found it informative!
WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enhello ladies and gentlemen and boys and girls and welcome back to another episode of the last game hunter I'm your host Paul and today we're going to check and see what did Amazon bring me so it must be something cool cuz it's from Amazon I've been getting a lot of stuff from Amazon I've been playing around with a few things I went to open it but I didn't miss it let's try this in a video it's actually something pretty cool if it is what I think it is so let's open this up see what we got see what it does and check it out okay so we're back and now we're just getting a turn whoa that's kind of bland I guess doing this at least let me play with my knife what is that okay enough with this little tiny box so it comes with a HDMI cable one meter so three feet and then this interesting little thing let me get it out of the bag that's pretty cool okay guys so basically we have a Nintendo Wii to HDMI adapter if you guys can see that proper and these were cheap this is this is like ten dollars I think are twelve dollars deliver so I Amazon Prime so it's very cheap so this cheap work so that's what we're gonna do today we're gonna check and see if I can turn my wii wii into a high-definition and if i can that'd be pretty cool now i know it's simple everybody can say hey we can play the Wii games on our Wii U and high-definition so why bother it was $12.99 so why not bother so you know what grab a friend curl up on a couch biggest screen possible and watch the last game hunter test out the high-definition add-on for the week so here's a we thought I'm gonna play with and this is very simple apparently this just plugs into where you would normally plug in your video cable and now it's a high-definition week let's check out the pitch folder well okay guys we're going to have split screen now of Super Mario Bros Wii edition of course and the idea here is to try and see if we can see the difference between the two and unfortunately with the split screen the way I've got it done it loses some of the sides and stuff but the idea is just to see the sharpness and see what's going on here and yeah to be honest I'm finding it hard to see a big difference especially at the smaller screen level if you guys notice or want to comment below please do so because I would like to hear what you guys think of the video difference so what I'm doing here now is a little bit of fun composite which is a RCA which is your red white and your yellow video so this is just by itself playing now and then next to the B HDMI doing the same thing so here's your now everything's recorded through the elgato hd60 ace so that may not be a true fair comparison to what's happening it's a little longer here and I'll switch over just to get some you know things going on with some detail and show you how sucky I am at playing this game by some weird reason so here we are with HDMI and it does look a little sharper I'm gonna say it does my eyes are probably not the greatest so if I am wrong or you guys think I'm wrong please again comment below let me know what you think so this is HDMI now this is that adapter I find that the there's a little less jaggedness to the game but overall if this this point I don't find a massive difference the colors seem to be pretty close I'm not seeing any lagging this HDMI so that's kind of cool we got about the same things going on here I tried to make it about the same gameplay so what I'm gonna do next is I'm gonna I picked Sonic Sega all-stars racing the reason why I can do a side by side video footage here so composite on the left HDMI on the right let's see what this looks like and let me know what I think again at this point I don't see much of a difference trying to look at the colors now I thought here wearing ghosts to eat the banana there was a bit of a better transition with the HDMI yeah it looked a little sharper and vibrant on the HDMI perfect side-by-sides right there really hard to tell the difference guys again I don't know if the elgato is doing this and making the RCA look better but yeah I thought this would be a good comparison alright guys no audio recorded cuz I keep getting flagged I know boring and nuts enjoy my background music I'm in Sri Lanka yo sonic now there I noticed that the HDMI side to the right did look a little crisper little sharper a little more true color yeah there there it is again the perfect slowdown and now some gameplay so this is calm composite RCA a little bit of play here you guys can get a feel for it and again my gameplay kind of sucks trying to get used to that forgot that this 15 tips the controller to turn took me a little while to catch on again this is RCA I mean through yoga which doesn't actually look that bad I mean when you blow the screen up yeah you can see it in its pixel man whoops my bad things happen I said I was a gamer never said I was good so there's noticing the transition on the wood and everything and I tried to pick the same area here now with the HDMI I do see a little bit of sharp earnest I see a little more black tones I don't know if anybody else sees that but this is what I'm seeing and I'm mental and don't know how to get back in the game here notice it a little darker maybe that could be true to life I don't know I have no idea if that's how the game was ment to be played or not but I didn't notice it a lot brighter on the RCA here we go the car does look sharper the head looks sharper well we're back the tests have been done please take a look side-by-side and see if I'm right or wrong and comment below on this because I really would love the input I am a little older my visions not like it used to be but I will say and I will stand on it I believe that the HDMI was crisper a lot less jagged lines and not saying overall that was a lot better but it was in my opinion better is it worth the $12 or $12.99 delivered to your door absolutely just on the idea alone of being able to make your unit HDMI instead of the RCA inputs which most TVs are starting to Latin I lose as well and then the idea that I can record now through my al gato much easier instead of having to hook up those component cables switch the modes I can just leave it alone record and be happy which is great because if I do the series which I'm about to do on my my five and so on to me and my Wii collection it's gonna be a lot easier for me but guys I tried this with Sonic all-stars racing and Mario Brothers for a reason I thought both games gave us a bit of vibrance and colors and different things going on in them and I thought they were good picks I did not want to get into it and for you guys what a ton of different games like I see another review so I just figured two games is enough side-by-side comparisons and the Sonics happened that video that we could do the side by side which was still hard cuz it was really fast going but when it slowed down I could see the difference it definitely was there so guys please subscribe like comment below share with your friends until next time guys it's all fun and gameshello ladies and gentlemen and boys and girls and
