Samsung Wave 575 Full Review

running b os which were just launched by Samsung in India and uh this one the wave 575 runs the newest revision of B you will experience a bunch of changes in the OS of this device and we'll highlight those for you guys we'll start off with the exterior and show you that this device has this very nice uh textured back cover very nice to hold in the hand and you also get this very nice looking back cover for the device it is a leather cover and it's a full back protection case along with the front uh leather flip panel uh very nice cover to put on the device and just to do that I'm going to quickly put this cover on the device to show you guys a fairly simple install and gives you our device a very nice uh looking cover a full leather cover in the front with the nice Samsung logo embossed here and uh similarly on on the back it covers half of the back and leaves half of it exposed you do lose the textured back cover but you get this really nice leather finish in the back so it feels even better in the hand and uh it covers up the part where you hold the phone the most so it it's really soft and uh feels good in the hand when you hold it so coming back to the device uh this has a very nice uh touch screen in the front very responsive touch screen and it's a full capacitive touch screen so your fingers will suffice and you don't need a stylus or a pen to uh utilize the touchcreen also the build quality on this device is uh seemingly superior to the other devices that we tested it's almost along the lines of the 723 but the 723 was a metal body this one is a plastic body very nicely built device there is no squeaking tweaking and you can't even bend the device so it's very rigid and very solid there is no sound from the device whatsoever so very nicely built device the 3.2 mapix camera on the back is also very nice and we tested out the camera in several occasions turned out to be good let's start off with the operating system on the device so from the moment you turn on your device you get this lock screen and all your notifications will come on the lock screen over here you get all your messages your phone calls and everything in this puzzle fashion you can swipe the lock screen left or right to unlock it swiping the lock screen reveals the main screen and on this main screen you have three panes or three dashboards if you would like to call them and in these panes you can customize them by installing your own widgets similar to the other b os phones that we've reviewed but this one runs a newer version of B and the first thing that you'll notice when you use this device is this is much faster in response to the other devices it operates very smoothly and there is almost zero lag when we are navigating from Pain to pain pressing the center button reveals the full menu you can swipe left or right to view those menu items and if you add more applications from the Samsung application store you will continue to populate these pages and you will add more pages if more applications added to your menu let's look at some of the main features of the menu you get your award Facebook Twitter applications pre-installed you also get a YouTube application which this device also has a FM radio and a voice recorder which is pre-installed and you have a bunch of regular applications like a call log a Social Hub which is a Samsung proprietary application you get a music player you get the internet browser you get an email application you have a camera application to access the 3.2 megap camera let's talk about this camera first uh you can quickly tap the camera mode and turn it into a camcer you also get a bunch of other settings that you can do to the camera and you have your brightness settings you have a timer you have a shooting mode a single shot a smile shot or a panorama you get a lot of scene modes in this camera so that's something really nice you can jump into a bunch of scene modes that you get you can also set up other things like image quality resolution and you can also tweak your guidelines your review seconds and your GPS connections so you will get Geo tagged images as well uh in this device interestingly very nice and you do have a dedicated camera shutter button the camera is not an autofocus cameras but you do get pinched to zoom in this and uh very interestingly works very fast and there is no issue you can also pan around so uh that's something also which is very interestingly nice uh let's come back into the main menu and I'll quickly show you the internet browser so as you can see it loads mobile websites without any problem and it does support uh kinetic scrolling and uh uh full scrolling as well so that's something which is inbuilt into the browser and it's pretty fast and uh very responsive the screen so you will not feel any lag when you're browsing through the web pages quickly load up the full website and uh we will show you that this device also has an accelerometer the minute you turn the device sideways you'll get a full landscape view on this and uh you can continue to pan around using your finger and also this device does support pin to zoom uh let's come out in the main menu and I'm going to quickly load up the YouTube application this YouTube application is basically a mobile version of YouTube main page and you can simply load up any YouTube video and I'm going to quickly load up igan's uh videos today in one of the most anticipated and most requested reviews going to be so in a video you can just tap this main screen to bring out these control panels and you can always slide up this lighter to adjust your brightness and your details that's something really uh nice into this uh video player you also have this button for the 5.1 Channel but that only works if you have your earphones connected I'm going quickly jump into the dialer here to show you what the dialer screen looks like a very nice nice and large keypad over here very nice colorful dialer the touch screen is very responsive so you will have no issues dialing a number let's quickly dial the customer care and put it on loud speaker to show you what this device can do this offer for you one so what this basically does is the minute you dial a number it locks your screen so that when you touch it against your face the screen does not get pressed and to use the in call buttons you have to unlock the screen by pressing this lock button over here so that's something that you need to do to use these extra features uh a really Innovative way to avoid the proximity sensor and we would have really liked a proximity sensor on the device there is no proximity sensor there is a light sensor over here but uh no proximity sensor on the wave 575 let's quickly jump into the messaging and show you that the keyboard on this device is uh very very impressive and there are a bunch of nifty shortcuts that Samsung has added into their operating system for example if you're in a conversation list you can swipe left to reply to the message or you can swipe right to call the number that you received the message from this also works in the contacts uh menu a very nice and interesting way to minimize the effort it takes to call or message a contact so that's something really nice let's quickly go ahead and compose a new message and I'll show you that the keyboard on this is very responsive so as you can see the keyboard is very very responsive and uh you can also convert it into landscape mode and uh it also works pretty nicely in landscape as well because the screen is so responsive it's very easy to use the keyboard on this device very impressed with the keyboard and uh very impressed with the screen quality as well what Samsung has done is basically hide the full menu behind this three dot panel over here and you can bring out this panel in most of your applications is at the bottom here to bring out the full menu you just tap it and it brings out the full menu and you tap this Arrow back to put it away so you get this uh really Nifty animation and you get a very fast response from it as well you'll be pretty impressed with the kind of innovations that Samsung has done with the b os I'm going to quickly play this game to show you what gaming is like on this and we've installed FIFA o 10 so you get a bunch of uh good games that you get in the application store and you can also download several other paid games as well all in all very impressed with the phone very nice build quality very nice call Quality as well uh the microphone and the earpiece on the device very impressive also the loudspeaker on the back is also very nice the only thing that uh did kind of disappoint us was uh this button over here here is kind of flush with the device and it's a little difficult to take the picture with this button apart from that uh we found no major issues with the device we really love the leather cover that has been
