Apple AirPods Pro 2 Real-World Test (Audio Test, Battery Test, & Vlog)

**Apple AirPods Pro Second Gen Review: A Major Upgrade**

As I continue to explore new features and technologies, I recently had the opportunity to test the Apple AirPods Pro second gen. The latest iteration of these popular earbuds boasts significant upgrades, including improved audio quality, enhanced noise canceling, and a longer battery life.

The first major upgrade is the new audio driver and custom amplifier, which are designed to produce richer and clearer sound. This is evident in my own experience with the AirPods Pro second gen, where I noticed a significant improvement in bass response compared to the previous model. The sound seems more immersive and detailed, making it easier to enjoy music, podcasts, or phone calls.

Another notable feature of the AirPods Pro second gen is its improved noise canceling capabilities. Apple has added a new audio driver and custom amplifier that work together to create a more effective noise canceling system. This means that I can enjoy uninterrupted listening even in noisy environments, such as on planes, trains, or in busy cities.

The AirPods Pro second gen also support spatial audio, which allows for 360-degree sound. This feature is particularly useful when watching videos or streaming music, as it creates an immersive experience with the sound coming from multiple directions. I can tilt my head to change the direction of the sound, and it still sounds like the source is in front of me.

In a surprising twist, Apple has introduced personalized spatial audio. Using the Face ID camera on your iPhone, you can scan your ear shape and have the AirPods Pro second gen customize the audio for your specific gear. This feature works with both the new and old models, so you don't need to upgrade to get this feature.

As I traveled from New York City to Los Angeles, I had a chance to test the AirPods Pro second gen in various environments. From the airport lounge to the hotel room, I put them through their paces and was impressed with their performance. The noise canceling worked well even in noisy spaces, and the battery life seemed to hold up better than expected.

In one notable test, I sat in an airport lounge working on my computer while listening to music from my device. After 30 minutes, I went from 100% charge to 93%, which translates to around seven hours of listening time with ANC enabled. This is a significant improvement over the previous model, and it suggests that the AirPods Pro second gen will provide more battery life in real-world use.

**A Visit to Williamsburg**

Before heading out on my journey, I took a moment to reflect on my neighborhood, Williamsburg. Located in Brooklyn, New York City, this area has a rich history dating back to the 19th century. Originally part of Bushwick, it was renamed Williamsburg after developer Jonathan Williams, who purchased land on Metropolitan Avenue in 1802. The area grew rapidly and became Incorporated in 1840, eventually losing its "H" during incorporation.

In 1855, Williamsburg became a separate entity from Bushwick, and by 1898, Brooklyn had become part of New York City. Today, Williamsburg is one of the five boroughs that make up the city, known for its vibrant arts scene, trendy restaurants, and historic architecture.

**A Flight to Los Angeles**

With my thoughts on Williamsburg momentarily put aside, I boarded a flight to Los Angeles, where I would be attending a work event at TCL's headquarters. As I settled into my seat, I realized that this was an ideal opportunity to test the AirPods Pro second gen in real-world settings.

As we took off and soared through the skies, I powered on my AirPods Pro second gen and put them to the test. The noise canceling worked beautifully, blocking out engine noise and creating a peaceful listening experience. I also noticed that the sound quality was surprisingly clear and immersive, making it easy to enjoy music or podcasts during the flight.

**Testing Noise Canceling in Real-World Settings**

To get a better sense of how well the AirPods Pro second gen perform in real-world settings, I conducted a test in the airport lounge. Sitting at my computer, I listened to music from my device while working, and after 30 minutes, I checked the battery level. Surprisingly, it had dropped from 100% to 93%, which translates to around seven hours of listening time with ANC enabled.

While this isn't a scientific test, it gives me confidence that the AirPods Pro second gen will provide longer battery life in real-world use. This is especially welcome news for those who plan to use their earbuds on long flights or during extended periods of wear.

**Simulating Conference Calls**

Finally, I took one last test to see how well the AirPods Pro second gen perform when simulating conference calls. Using my phone's built-in microphone, I dialed a colleague and began chatting. The sound quality was surprisingly good, with clear and crisp conversation. This is especially useful for those who frequently participate in video conferencing or take conference calls.

Overall, my experience with the Apple AirPods Pro second gen has been overwhelmingly positive. With their improved audio quality, enhanced noise canceling, and longer battery life, these earbuds are sure to please even the most discerning audiophiles.

the airpods pro second gen firstly now the case is ipx for water resistant as opposed to on the last Model it was just the buds that were the case now also has to find my Precision tracking on it so before on the old model if you took the buds out of the case you could find the buds using find my but you couldn't find the case if you lost it now the case also shows in addition that we now have a speaker on the case which you can use to Ping it if you're trying to find it using that fine mine but also it does little audio cues that are kind of nice like when you set it down to charge it gives you a little tone to let you know that that's happening and now for charging the airpods pro to case now we'll charge on Apple watch Chargers even uses magsafe and will align itself properly which is a nice addition for when you don't need to necessarily charge your watch because it still has battery but you want to charge your airpods and your phone at the same time you can use your watch charger to do that Apple now also includes four ear tips instead of three so we actually have an extra small now so there just should help it work for more years all right before we head out of here let's test the ANC on the new airpods Pro 2. foreign foreign so we have a new feature for transparency Mode called adaptive transparency and the idea behind that is that it's supposed to take loud sounds in your environment and in real time using algorithms on the airpods probe themselves pull that sound down when it hits over a certain decibel so taking loud sounds and making them slightly less loud I've been using for a little bit and I will say it's it's a subtle thing but I do notice it especially like there's been a few times like motorcycles have gone by and I was always like oh oh not as harsh again it's subtle but it does something now Apple says that this is in part because of the new chipset they have in here the H2 over the H1 from the last Model and that allowed them to process these algorithms faster Etc now besides the new chipset we have new skin detect sensors compared to the optical infrared sensors that we had on the last Model and so that just makes in-ear detection a little bit better and so even though I never really had an issue with the near detection with the last Model this is supposedly better one of the things they did add though that I think has been a long long overdue is he able to control the volume by swiping up and down on the stem of the airpods pro too honestly this is a very convenient feature other earbuds have had it for a while it's just nice to see apple added here and it works well swiping up and down is very responsive it goes up in small increments that way you don't jump too high or jump too low but because it is responsive enough you can swipe up and down to get to those levels that you need pretty quickly Apple also added a new audio driver and a new custom amplifier into these and that's supposed to make the sound sound richer and clearer but also boost the bass and I can't say that at least to me someone who is not an audio file it does sound better especially the bass is something that I can tell on these compared to the old models and just like the last Model they do support spatial audio which is like 360 audio it allows you to have a source that supports it along with these air pods and you can like tilt your head and the sound will sound like it's still coming from the same direction and it's actually a pretty neat thing it confuses me actually sometimes when I'm watching videos on my Mac with the old airpods even I would sometimes have to like take them out to just like make sure that the sound wasn't coming from the computer because it sounded so much like it was it's actually kind of crazy and now Apple has added the ability to do personalized spatial audio it just allows you to use the face ID camera on your iPhone to scan your ear shape and then it'll customize the audio for your specific gear but you don't need these new airpods Pro to do that that'll work with the old ones as well it's just a new software feature by the way we're currently in a neighborhood called
