iPhone XS Max made me DITCH my Galaxy Note 9 forever..
**A Personal Review: Why I Ditched My Samsung Galaxy Note 9**
For me, the decision to switch from my Samsung Galaxy Note 9 to an iPhone 10s Max was not taken lightly. In fact, it's been a few weeks since I made this transition, and I'm still getting used to the new phone. However, I wanted to share my thoughts on why I made this change and how it's been working out for me.
**The Screen: A Game-Changer**
One of the main reasons I switched from my Note 9 was because of its screen size. The Note 9 has a 6.3-inch screen, which is great for productivity and multitasking. However, with the iPhone 10s Max, I'm enjoying a 6.5-inch screen, which provides an even better experience. Watching movies and TV shows on this new display has been an amazing experience, and I don't see myself going back to my Note 9 anytime soon.
**Battery Life: A Surprising Improvement**
Another area where the iPhone 10s Max outperforms the Note 9 is in battery life. While both phones have impressive batteries, the iPhone's Max model actually lasts about 12 minutes longer on average per day than the Note 9. This is a testament to Apple's iOS and its more efficient use of battery power. The Note 9 has a 4000mAh battery, while the iPhone 10s Max has a smaller 3074mAh battery. However, the difference in battery life is significant, and I appreciate the constant improvement in this area.
**Camera: A Significant Upgrade**
The camera on both phones is impressive, with a dual 12-megapixel setup on both devices. However, the iPhone 10s Max has a larger sensor in its dual camera, which makes a big difference in terms of image quality. The addition of Smart HDR and depth control features also takes the camera to the next level. While the video quality is not significantly different between the two phones, the audio on the iPhone 10s Max is actually better.
**iOS: A Love Affair**
For me, it's iOS that's been the deciding factor in my decision to switch to an iPhone 10s Max. I've always loved the simplicity and elegance of iOS, and with each new update, Apple seems to be pushing the boundaries of what's possible on a mobile device. The constant developer betas and updates to software features are just one example of how much Apple is committed to improving its ecosystem.
**The Verdict: A Big Change for Me**
While I may not be going back to my Note 9 anytime soon, that doesn't mean I don't appreciate the phone's performance and features. However, I have to admit that I'm already enjoying the iPhone 10s Max, and I see myself sticking with it for a long time. So, if you're considering making the switch from Android to iOS or upgrading from an older iPhone model, the iPhone 10s Max is definitely worth considering.
**The Future: More Comparisons to Come**
I've already announced that I'll be comparing my new iPhone 10s Max to other phones, including the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 and the iPhone 10R. Stay tuned for those reviews, as well as more content like this in the future.
"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enwhat's up guys my name is Brennan and the iPhone 10's max made me ditch my samsung galaxy note 9 for good that's right so I've been using these samsung galaxy note 9 on and off as my daily driver ever since it was released but ever since the iPhone 10's max got released and I started using this as my daily driver I never even went to pick up the note 9 again and let me explain why so first off just to be completely fair and honest both phones are terrific I mean they're two of the best phones of 2018 and there's really not too many negative things to say about either one of them the samsung galaxy note 9 has the snapdragon 845 processor with 6 gigabytes of RAM while the iPhone 10's max has apples a 12 Bionic chip with 4 gigabytes of RAM and just as a side note the note 9 does also have an 8 gigabyte of RAM version that is the 512 storage option that does come with a gigabytes of RAM but this is the 64 gig option so it does come with 6 gigabytes of RAM instead of the 8 and the difference between these two phones isn't that significant but the 10s max is a little bit quicker and daily tasks and also a good bit quicker when it comes to gaming and I've showed a lot of this off with my speed test between the two I you know showed off pub G and fortnight and things like that and I definitely noticed that the experience was better on the iPhone and I'm not really a big gamer myself but I was playing fortnight especially when it came out and I got the galaxy skin with the note 9 I was playing it quite a bit but I found that it just ran better and just seemed to run better on iOS I just enjoyed it more on iOS but meanwhile pub G did play better I found on the note 9 now I don't play that game too much so that wasn't really a big deal to me but I did notice that it didn't run a little bit smoother on Android but like I said the difference between these two is very very minimal I would say that the biggest change comes with the gaming performance I don't believe there was one time when the note 9 opened up a game faster than the iPhone 10's max I did do a speed test between these two as well so if you missed that definitely check it out it was very controversial that is up in the cards right now and also down in the description below I go through a lot of different things in that speed test but I will say that the iPhone 10's max it definitely excels when it comes to social media which I can you know say is the number one thing I use my phone for I use my phone to watch YouTube videos I use my phone to reply to comments I use my phone to tweet I just use my phone mostly for social media these days and like I said iOS is just better optimized for social media applications than Android in general and this isn't necessarily a con to the note 9 this is more of Android versus iOS instead of note 9 versus 10s max just the whole social media experience is better on iOS and it's been that way pretty much since the beginning and speaking of the OS iOS 12 on the iPhone 10's max just has so many cool features that keep me from wandering off to Android and the note 9 and the biggest most fun feature of being series shortcuts this is an application where you can basically automate certain tasks and you can you run certain actions you can get like a tip calculator at discount calculator all these things I made a whole video app a whole video series actually on this but series shortcuts are just incredible and it's nothing like anything on Android and it just keeps me there on iOS I played with shortcuts when I first came out the first week like three plus hours a day playing with shortcuts it's so much fun and I just love how much cleaner and minimalistic everything is with iOS I just feel like every time I switched over to the note and Android I felt like everything was just cluttered I don't know what it was I don't know if it was when I swiped up and I saw all the applications there I don't know if it was the notifications I don't know if it was the settings where you could just keep going in the settings and just keep going deeper and deeper I just didn't feel as minimalistic to me it just didn't feel as simple to me as it does on iOS like I said I'm a very simple person I like things very clean I like things very minimalistic and I just didn't get that with Android and the note 9 and once again that is more of an Android versus iOS thing than it is a Nodine versus iPhone thing now of course I don't want to say that everything is bad on Android that's not even close to the case Android has some cool stuff that iOS doesn't have but much of it just isn't very useful to me like of course I'd like the amount of customizability but it's all just kind of unnecessary to me I mean the widgets are kind of cool but they eat away at battery the ability to get these different wallpapers and things like that just is it really appealing to me I mean if I was a teenager maybe but nowadays I just don't find that stuff very appealing but one thing I always say that I wish I always had that Android has is that always on display I just envy that always on display I always wish I had that on my iPhone this is hands-down one of my favorite features on Android and the note 9 it's something that I loved when I had it I love just being able to look over what I'm laying down without picking up my phone and seeing what time it is so yeah that is an awesome feature also the s-pen is amazing on the note 9 the s-pen is just so awesome there's so many things you could do with it this year it's much better than last year with the note 8 I mean there's Bluetooth powered and it acts as a remote you could press this button and performs actions with up to from up to 30 feet away which is pretty awesome I actually use this to take pictures sometimes I've worked out really really well it definitely beats having a timer because you may not you know be ready to take the picture during that time with the timer so it was nice being able to use this as a remote and you can also use it for other things as well it doesn't have to be the camera there's a lot of settings in there for it so the S Pen is just awesome this is another thing that I wish Apple would somehow implement into iOS as for the displays the note 9 has the six point four inch 1440 by 29 60 Super AMOLED screen while the iPhone 10s max has a 6.5 inch 2688 by 12 42 Super AMOLED screen and this display is the reason that I kept going back to the note 9 when the iPhone 10 was the latest iPhone out but now that the 6.5 inch iPhone 10's maxes out I really have no reason to go back to the note 9 now is the note 9 display better yes but just very slightly it's not that much different like I said it was more of the actual size of the screen on the note 9 that kept me going back to it from the iPhone 10 but now that I have a 6.5 inch screen on a new iPhone I just don't really see any reason to go back to the note 9 just watching movies and TV shows on either one of these displays it's going to be an amazing experience battery life on the note 9 was better than the iPhone 10 but now with the iPhone 10's max it actually lasts about 12 minutes longer on average per day than the note 9 and this is just a true testament to Apple and iOS because the note 9 has a four thousand milliamp hour battery while the iPhone 10's max only has a thirty 174 milliamp hour battery and the fact that I OS has the battery and the screen time graphs inside of settings just makes it so so much better to track battery usage and just kind of keep an eye on your battery I mean there are some applications for Android that do something similar to this but nothing near as precise and neatly laid out as it is in iOS and while we're talking about operating systems that's another thing that I love about iOS it's the constant developer betas it's because that updates to the software we just don't find that on Android which again is a huge huge testament to iOS are just constantly improving these battery features were not there last year the camera on the iPhone 10's max is also better than the note 9 both of them have a dual 12 megapixel camera setup but the iPhone 10's max has a new bigger sensor in that dual camera and it makes a big difference we also have smart HDR which is an amazing software based feature that makes the pictures look so much better you can also adjust the depth of field which is pretty cool and of course both phones can shoot video at an awesome 4k 60fps and while the difference in video quality is very minimal they pretty much look the same the audio the onboard audio is actually better on the iPhone 10s Macs this year now just because I'm ditching the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 does not mean that I hate this phone it doesn't mean that I don't think that this is a great phone because it is this is actually the number one phone I would recommend if you aren't huge into the Apple ecosystem if you don't like iOS or if you're looking to go back into Android the note 9 is a number one phone I would recommend but me personally I am just so heavily invested into the Apple ecosystem I just love iOS I just love to smooth this I just love the cleanness of iOS just so much more than Android and like I said with the new iPhone 10s max there's just so many new cool features with iOS 12 and the 10s max that just keeps me from wanting to wander off to Android I mean this is just an S upgrade but it's still keeping me busy estill bringing me back to the screen to do new things and you know in the past I would get bored possibly up iPhones and I would go back to Android and just play around with it just because I was bored but I haven't even had that yet after two plus weeks with the iPhone 10s Mac so that is a testament to it and this is just the S model so I can't wait to see what Apple does and 2019 so yeah I just wanted to give you guys a little breakdown because a lot of people have been asking me what I've been doing with my known dynamos till using it on a daily basis and basically just wondering how it compared to the 10s Mac so here's your answer to that I actually need to cancel the service on this now because I really cannot see myself using this anymore now that I have the 10s max but I will be comparing the note 9 to the iPhone 10 R as well as the iPhone 10s max would be running those up against each other in a speed test so definitely make sure to stay tuned for that later this month and also my full review of the iPhone 10s Max is coming very soon as well but anyways guys there you have it that is why I ditched my samsung galaxy note 9 before the iPhone 10s max and while I'm not gonna be touching the note 9 again unless it's just for like speed tests and things like that I'm not gonna be using it daily ever again so I hope you guys enjoyed the video I'm sure this is gonna be a little bit controversial but if you did enjoy it make sure to hit that thumbs up button also make sure to subscribe for a lot more comparisons and reviews and just videos like this so thanks again for watching guys and I'll see you
