Unboxing and First Look: Gionee S11 Light
Hey guys today we are unboxing and taking the first look at the Gionee S11 Light so let's dive right in. So here's the Gionee S11 Light, let's take it out and this is a phone itself with a 3D four-sided curve as its design which looks and feels amazing and quite comfortable and light in the hand. Putting it aside, let's have a look at other items in the box. We find the warranty card and a transparent back cover. We also have a USB cable and adapter and a pair of earphones.
Now that we've taken a look at the packaging, let's move on to the physical features of the Gionee S11 Light. I have got the gold version of the phone which looks quite impressive. The build quality however is questionable because of the use of plastic back and the glossy design also easily attracts fingerprints. This device has a 5.7 inch HD Plus display with an 18:9 aspect ratio, and while this was supposed to be a big selling point for Gionee, the resolution is a bit of a letdown considering the price. The screen does have good color reproduction, but it lacks sharpness. This display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3 which is certainly nice to see.
One of the standout features of the Gionee S11 Light is its camera. It boasts an impressive 16 megapixel front camera, as well as dual rear cameras consisting of a 13 megapixel and 2 megapixel sensor. I took a few samples and the result was quite satisfactory, although I'm yet to test the camera in depth.
Moving on from the camera, let's take a look at the phone's hardware specifications. The Gionee S11 Light runs on Android 7.1 Nougat with an iOS-like Amigo UI on top, powered by a mid-range Snapdragon 430 octa-core chipset coupled by 4GB of RAM and 32GB internal storage. There is also a dual hybrid SIM slot, allowing users to expand their memory up to 256 gigabytes.
The phone's battery life is another area worth mentioning, with the Gionee S11 Light boasting a respectable 3030mAh capacity. This power is aided by various power-saving modes, making it possible for users to squeeze out a full day of use from this device. Another notable feature is the fingerprint sensor, which is one of the fastest scanners I've used on any smartphone.
The Gionee S11 Light also comes equipped with a built-in system manager that allows users to manage batchi applications and protect apps overall, providing an added layer of security for those who use their phone extensively. However, despite its many positive features, there are some notable drawbacks. The build quality, while visually appealing, is somewhat lacking due to the plastic back and glossy finish. This makes it easy to scratch or damage the phone.
In terms of our overall assessment, the Gionee S11 Light is a decent phone but it falls short in several areas. While its camera and battery performance are certainly highlights, the mediocre processor and low-resolution display hold it back from being a truly top-tier smartphone. It's clear that Gionee aimed to offer an affordable option with some key features, but ultimately this device feels like a compromise. The camera and battery will be key deciding factors for potential buyers, and we'll have to see how they perform in our full review.
So, what do you guys think of the Gionee S11 Light? I'm honored to have been able to bring it to you today, and I'll catch you all again next time.
