**Five Star Predictions**
As I embark on this exciting project, I'm thrilled to share my five star predictions with you all. The goal is to have fun and indulge in some book love, while also documenting our progress along the way.
First up, I have a book that will not quit shining greatly. I think that's a sign that it's awesome, and I've been surprised no, no, it's okay. Next, I'm going to hold it awkwardly here, so this is sorry, disrupt the peace by petting me, control, and this is from McSweeney's. I haven't read anything from McSweeney's, but this book has had high up on my TBR for several months, and I haven't seen Lee really see it anywhere on BookTube for whatever reason. But this book is about a woman whose brother commits suicide, and then she goes to deal with his effects after that happens, and to settle all of his affairs.
I've read the first few chapters of this book, and I really enjoyed her writing style. I think it's a very important topic, and I again, I haven't seen it anywhere on BookTube for whatever reason, so I want to feature it somewhere sometime. I don't know why, but I also think I'll really enjoy it, so hopefully, I'll finally take it off my TBR and read it.
**Homefire by Caimh Robbins**
Next up is Homefire by Caimh Robbins, which is out from Riverhead Books. Look at that design - oh my goodness, I haven't hauled this yet, so you haven't seen this on my channel. But look at that - it's a beautiful stamp on the cover, and it's gorgeous. The design is actually repeated on the inside, so it looks really cool. This book is actually a retelling of Antigone, which I saw modernized in a cool version when I was in college with my date who didn't work out very well.
Anyway, I still love Antigone, and I think it's amazing. In this novel, an older sister moves across the pond from Britain to the US and finally has a chance to pursue her academic career after taking care of younger siblings for a while. The novel opens with her being interrogated because she's a Muslim as she tries to fly from Britain to the US - I thought it was really interesting.
**Burial Rites by Hannah Kent**
Last but not least, is Burial Rites by Hannah Kent, which I need to read before a certain date so I can follow my favorite author's progress. This book has been on my TBR for months now, and I still haven't read it - what's wrong with me? But this book is about a woman who's been convicted of murder in 19th-century Iceland, where she was sentenced to death for killing her husband.
Everywhere I've looked online, everyone is gushing about this book, but I'm like okay, I'll take your word for it. I hope it's five stars - that's what I want from a book. Mysterious, dark, and full of suspense - I just know I'll love it. I mean, why not? It's Hannah Kent, after all.
**The Future**
I'm excited to document my progress on these books and share my reactions with you all. Who knows how good I'll be at predicting which ones I'll actually enjoy? Maybe I'll surprise myself, or maybe not - we'll see!
