LG G3 First Thoughts - Video Incoming!

The device is quite impressive and I am pleased with its simplicity. They really did emphasize it being simple and it's hard to disagree with that. For a person like me, who has small hands, the curved back of the device is really helpful and makes it easy to hold and use. The fact that it's not aluminum, but rather plastic with a metallic look, is also a nice touch. Additionally, the matte finish on the back of the device helps to reduce fingerprints and makes it easier to clean.

I am also happy with the ratio of the display size to the size of the body. The 5.5-inch display is quite impressive compared to other devices in its class, such as the Z2 which has a 5.2-inch display. The device's slim design and curved back make it feel very comfortable in the hand, even for someone with small hands like mine.

The interface of the device is also nice, they seem to have toned down some of the features that were present on previous devices. I didn't notice any significant changes to the overall look and feel of the interface, but I did notice that it's not as flashy or attention-grabbing as some other devices on the market.

One thing to note is that if you're someone who doesn't watch a lot of content or don't really look at pictures on your display, the Quad HD display may not make a significant difference for you. However, if you do watch a lot of video content, such as movies or TV shows, the increased resolution and pixel density will provide a much better viewing experience.

In terms of calibration, I didn't have access to a colorimeter to check the device's color accuracy, but based on my own observations, it seems that they are oversaturating some colors, particularly reds. However, this is not uncommon in modern smartphones, and it's likely that future software updates will help to improve the display's color accuracy.

I also had the chance to play around with the camera features of the device, including the laser focus and optical image stabilization. The laser focus feature worked well, and I was able to take clear photos even when using it in low-light conditions. The optical image stabilization also performed well, and I was able to record smooth video even when moving the device around.

I'm not sure what to expect from the battery life of this device, but based on information provided by LG, it's likely that the display is very efficient, which should result in good battery life comparable to other devices in its class. However, we'll have to wait and see how it holds up in real-world use.

As for specifications, I've been told that there may be some differences between the US version and the international version of the device. The US version appears to have a removable back cover, which is a nice touch. Both versions seem to have a 3000mAh battery, but I'm not sure about the SMC, as it's likely that it will be the Snapdragon 801 AC version with a clock speed of up to 2.5GHz.

The device's RAM is listed at 3GB, which is equivalent to what we've seen on other devices in its class. However, it's worth noting that this may not necessarily mean that the device's performance is the same as those devices. We'll have to wait and see how the device performs in real-world use.

Overall, I'm quite happy with this device and can't wait to try it out for myself. The display is impressive, the camera features seem promising, and the design is sleek and comfortable. I just hope that it will live up to my expectations and provide good performance and battery life.

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enhey everybody this is Erica the technology nerd who likes to film stuff and I wanted to make a really quick video to talk about what I just saw at the LG3 event now please be patient because I took a lot of footage and I'm going to upload all of that but I need to take a plane ride first so hang tight for that but there are some things that I want to say about the device the first thing is that I am pretty pleased it's really quite impressive they really did emphasize it being simple now I have really small hands and for a person like me it's kind of hard to deal with some smartphones but that curved back really does help and no it is not aluminum it is plastic but it does have a metallic look on the back and what's really nice about it is that it has a matte finish to it and so since it has that matte finish to it it doesn't get all Gummy with fingerprints you know I usually one to speculate about that but I did have a chance to play with it and I can tell you that someone with oily fingers just like myself will probably be quite pleased with with this device because it doesn't get all Gummy and nasty looking on that back cover so good job with that LG also I am quite happy with the ratio of that display size to the size of the body because it's really quite impressive it's 5.5 in display versus something like the Z2 which has 5.2 in and it really does make a difference and it's also not as tall as the Z2 still with that big display so it's really great ratio I'll have to see if I'm holding on to the device if the display turns on or if it gets sensitive because once you have the display that's really big sometimes it starts to interfere with holding the device so I didn't have a chance to see if that happened it's not something I noticed right away so we'll have to see but the interface is nice I think they tone it down just a little bit although it really does look largely the same I think they just you know the Q slide area they kind of just made things not pop out so much much it's kind of just flat now but really it's very much the same interface now as far as still getting into the display I have to say if you're somebody who doesn't watch a lot of content or if you don't really look at pictures on your display it's really not going to make so much difference to you if you have a 1080 X1 1920 display or a Quad HD display it might just be a big waste for you but if you're somebody who watches a lot of content because you can't see those pixels anymore you can't see that pixel Matrix whatsoever things just look painted or printed and it's really quite something as far as the calibration I don't have a Colorimeter with me I didn't have a way to look at that but the calibration is not too bad I just can see that they are oversaturating some things like the Reds but that's just the way of the industry right now is not looking for color accuracy but we'll just have to see once I get my hands on one I did also have a chance to play around with the camera I did have a chance to play around the laser focus I took this Galaxy S5 and I was able to take different samples I also played around with the optical image stabilization and it's really quite something as well so I have a couple of videos with be bouncing around showing the difference between the software image stabilization on this Galaxy S5 versus what we have on the G3 so I am quite happy with this device there are some things that I obviously can't check out right now like the battery life but they said that the display is very efficient so I'm hoping to have battery life like we had on the G2 but we'll just have to see but overall I think that this is a pretty outstanding device I can't wait to look at those camera samples and just really see if this is the device for me because I like the display I I I really wasn't a believer in having Quad HD but it really is quite something so please hang tight you can ask questions here and I'm going to be dubbing in video so I'll try to answer everything that I possibly can but but I need to get onto a plane right now and see anything else as far as specifications it looks like there might be some differences I the one that's in the United States has a removable back cover the same thing with the international version they seem to both have a 3,000 amp hour battery I'm not sure about the SMC I am seeing that it's probably the Snapdragon 801 AC version because it says it goes up to 2.5 GHz so we're just going to have to see but 3 GB of RAM really it's the equivalent of everything else on the market right now no Snapdragon 805 but we weren't really expecting that anyway so that's all I'm going to say for now I'm going to head out so I will upload this and please be
