Perth City Street Machine Club at Motorvation 37

An Unbelievable Event: Skid Cars, Burnout Cars, and Trade Cars

The city street machiners gathered to showcase their cool show cars, and we were fortunate enough to have a chat with some of them. Jason, a proud owner of a 1964 EH Holden sedan, was one of the first to share his story. "Basically, the engine is fully rebuilt running full forged internals," he explained. "I got Competition Cam a roll of Rocket package in through it, and it's running the Edelbrock air gap manifold, IED Kabi... it's just a good Street Cruiser." Jason built the car during the covert break, with all the work done in-house in his backyard shack. He loves cruising it with his friends, who come from various car groups to hit the coast every weekend.

Jason's enthusiasm was infectious, and we were soon joined by Dave, who shared his story about a 1967 XR Falcon wagon. "I've had this car for seven years," he said. "I bought it as a roller without a motor running gear, put all the motor in... C4 small stall and an LSD diff." The engine is powered by a 351 Cleveland, which might not be the original choice but suited Dave's needs. "We get out most weekends just having good fun," he said with a smile.

Next to share his story was Chris, who inherited an XC Falcon from his father. "Inherited it from my father who bought it new," Chris explained. "I've done a full 12-year restoration... 393 Cleveland Bellingham heads C4 Auto." The interior is equipped with big Bill of Wheels leather seats and a pride and passion for the car, which has become a part of his family's legacy.

Each car enthusiast shared their love for cruising, enjoying time with friends, and appreciating the unique qualities of their vehicles. Their stories were filled with camaraderie, fun, and a deep affection for their cars. They all seemed to be in their element, chatting about their rides and sharing laughter with each other.

The event was an incredible display of passion and dedication to car culture. The owners' love for their vehicles was palpable, and it was clear that they had put countless hours into restoring and maintaining their cars. Whether cruising along the coast or trading stories among fellow enthusiasts, these car owners were living their dream, surrounded by friends and like-minded individuals who shared their passion.

As we concluded our chat with Jason, Dave, and Chris, we couldn't help but feel inspired by their enthusiasm and dedication to their craft. Their stories served as a reminder that cars are not just machines, but also symbols of freedom, adventure, and the joy of sharing experiences with others.
