Cube iWork8 3G Dual Boot Unboxing

**Unboxing and Hands-On with the TechGlass X8H**

I recently got my hands on the TechGlass X8H, a tablet that promises to deliver a premium Android experience at an affordable price. In this article, I'll take you through my unboxing and first impressions of this device.

Upon opening the box, I was excited to see what was inside. The tablet came with a typical packaging design, with all the necessary accessories included such as a power adapter, USB cable, headphones, and a user manual. One thing that caught my attention was the stereo headphone jack and micro SD card slot on top of the device. This is a welcome feature, as many tablets in this price range often lack these amenities.

As I began to inspect the device more closely, I noticed that it had a 2MP front-facing camera, which is an improvement over some of its competitors that only have 0.3MP cameras. The rear camera also looked like it was taken from 1998, with a somewhat blurry image. Fingers crossed that this tablet will do better in terms of camera quality.

**Weight and Dimensions**

One of the things I wanted to check out first was the weight and dimensions of the device. According to my measurements, the TechGlass X8H weighs approximately 358g, which is not too heavy for a tablet of its size. The thickness comes in at around 9-10mm, which is not slimmest but certainly not chunky either.

**Dual Boot Capability**

I was also interested in seeing how this device would handle dual booting between Android and Windows. Upon first power-on, the device displayed an all-Chinese menu, indicating that it had been in standby mode for some time and had drained the battery. Switching to Android proved to be a quick process, but the BIOS took a bit longer to load.

**Android ROM**

After booting up into Android, I noticed that there were several bloat apps pre-installed on the device, including the Play Store app in Chinese. Thankfully, switching to English was quick and easy, and the interface looked clean and uncluttered.

**Version of Android**

According to my measurements, this tablet is running on version 4.4.4 of Android, which is an improvement over some of its competitors that are still stuck on lower versions. However, it's worth noting that there is no mention of an Android 5 upgrade in the Windows section, and I'll be doing a separate review for that.

**Windows Boot**

Switching to Windows was not as straightforward as I had hoped, with the "switch OS" feature missing from the device's menu system. Instead, I had to hold down the power button to access the boot options, which led me to the Windows startup menu. While this wasn't exactly what I expected, it did work once I figured out how.

**Benchmarking and Performance**

I'll be benchmarking the performance of this tablet using various benchmarks to get a better idea of its capabilities. This will include tests such as Geekbench and AnTuTu, which will give me an idea of the device's processing power and memory capacity.

**Gaming Performance**

Next on my agenda is testing out the gaming performance of this tablet. With a range of Android games available for download, I'll be putting the TechGlass X8H through its paces to see how well it handles demanding titles like PUBG Mobile and Asphalt 9.

Overall, my initial impressions of the TechGlass X8H have been positive, with its sleek design, comfortable weight, and clean interface. While there are a few quirks with the device, such as the missing "switch OS" feature and somewhat blurry cameras, I'm excited to put this tablet through its paces and see how well it performs in real-world use cases.

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: ennew unboxing here for you today it's Chris from techtablets.com I have the cube I work 8 it's an 8 in tablet similar to the chewy vi8 and the tech clast x88 this one the others were lacking so I know a lot of people out there like to have a 3D modem so they can they have plans they have unlimited data they can put a SIM card in there and I also got the Bluetooth keyboard that comes that you can get for this model so the tablet itself is one around 110 115 off AliExpress the keyboards an extra about 1520 us as well I'll find out if the keyboard's actually worth it or not it's just an extra that they do have for it this has been made for this particular model and it's the uh the cube Cube brand as well keyboard okay so have a look and see what is in the Box here and hopefully it's already being put English for me and there's battery some remaining battery there okay so we have the tablet so what else is in the Box um oh no power adapter that's interesting it's not too good uh so we have a USB 2 cable there that's for data then we have a USB cable with the dcn which the tablet has uh product specification that looks like it could actually maybe be in English no Chinese Chinese Chinese okay now there is it is the second half of it is in English so we get a bit an instruction manual in English Okay and there's the keyboard there okay well enough of that so there's no power adapter here but normally the sellers will include that uh for some reason mine is missing I'll just check the package and it would seem that no there is no there's no power adapter included but my Note 4 charger should be able to charge that but still it's not very good bit of a muck up there okay so they tell it itself let's have a look all right so 8 in screen comes with a screen protector already on like um a lot of them seem to do nowadays Cube seems to always put the screen protectors on uh let's just have a look around so the left side there's no ports or anything on it it's uh plastic B quality seems reasonable enough it's not creaking or making any noises and the weight of it it's quite light very light actually it feels very light so we have nothing on the left side on the bottom there is a what looks to be a a micro SIM card slot I'll just check that now yes definitely looks to be a micro SIM card slot I'll just see if that's going to fit in there yes okay so that is a micro SIM slot on the bottom there 3G mod I will Benchmark and test the speeds that the tablet can achieve there and on the back we have a 2 map rear camera and we we have two rare speakers hopefully they're going to be better than the chewy speakers the chewy vi8 speakers were hopeless um I don't expect them to be that much better but maybe with two of them it'll just be a little bit louder I will test those out and on the left hand side or the top depends on the way you look at it we have the stereo headphone jack micro SD card slot mini HDMI port that's good to see these is an HDMI out uh not a micro Port which most of them normally are that is our micro USB in with OTG data connection so you can connect up um your memory cards with the adapter they didn't actually include that either in the Box it's interesting and that is sorry that's DC power in and this is the headphone jack right here um this looks like it is maybe a Windows button I think because we have a power button and volume up and down here front facing camera is a little bit better than than the chewy vi8 or the tech glass x8h this is a 2 megap camera those other models only had 0.3 now 0.3 camera it just looks like 1998 cameras it just was really blurry really bad so hopefully it's going to be a little bit better for chat video chat Skype things like that and have a look at the weight now and the dimensions let's get the scales on and have a look what that weighs so 358 G 358 a bit of glare there coming off the tablet so 35859 that's not a bad weight so it is quite light and I'll just use my gauge here and have a look at the thickness see how thick that is so that is around nine how to read from here so around N 9 mm 10 10 9 mm so it's not the slimmest tablet as you can see that is um yeah it's it's not chunky or anything like that but it's definitely not the slimmest tablet I've seen okay so see if the boots up hopefully it'll turn on hopefully there's battery this is a dual boot tablet okay oh always been in sleep and it is all oh it's all in Chinese okay so it seems that it's actually been in standby for a while draining the battery so I see if I can swap out to Android at least that's in English switch to Android okay it's going to boot over now see how quick that is as you can see that's forcing Android now the bios so that should now start to read from the Android partition it's taking a while it's definitely not the quickest there I will uh Benchmark the emmc drive run some benchmarks like I do with all these tablets having a full review up on techtablets.com within around a week or two or so just get to know the tablet and use it that whole time okay so this is the Android obviously and have a look at the ROM it's got quite a few blow Weare applications here you can see there's a few things here Play Store whatever it's uh in Chinese of course seems they didn't put in in English for me so I will need to sort that out I need to install list down on the Windows part out there the English language pack but I can just quickly change this over now to English it's not an issue with Android that's nice and quick so yeah we got a few bloat apps on there we'll just have a look and see what version of Android it's coming with okay so it's 4.4.4 which all these tablets are coming with at the moment they do say that you get an Android 5 upgrade in Windows 10 later on so but when that is who knows so there is Play Store is there will it work I don't know I'll test that out in another video I'll do an Android Hands-On and a Windows hands on with Benchmark results and everything so stay tuned for that and I will also test out the volume of the speakers and see how they run the cameras pretty much everything you'd want to know about the tablet and a few games as well see how well it games let's see if now if I can swap over there's okay where can I swap over to Windows normally it's in this pull down menu
