The Five Best Features of the Galaxy Note 5

Since the first note, Samsung's flagship smartphone has always been created with the business user in mind, and it's always been classy. We actually liked when the Note 3 and 4 sported full leather backs, leather was comfortable to grip and it was sure better than plastic, but the new Note 5 is even better. The new phone Sports a glass back that curves downward on both sides, it's very similar to the curved screen on the Galaxy S6 Edge. The curved back makes the phone grippable, it's a natural fit at top of the curves of your palm, no complaints here really.

The Note 5 is the most beautiful note we've seen from Samsung, also the most premium. But all this comes at a price, no removable back means no replaceable battery, true to its name the Note 5 is designed for note taking. Thanks to this little device called the Spen, a stylus that's tucked into the bottom right hand corner of the phone like the phone. The S Pen has been redesigned and we're digging this one, the plastic s pens of generations past have looked like after thoughts not this one it looks as premium as the phone itself.

The S Pen is also more securely tucked away into the phone thanks to a new spring loading mechanism, press in to eject then pull out. I also like that you can mimic the clicky sound of a retractable pen just don't annoy anyone by overdoing it. Sensitivity is great, it's close enough an experience to writing on paper. We also love the screen off feature which lets you scribble notes discreetly when the display is off and then come back to it later.

The key to the S Pen's functionality is a software feature called Air Command, previously to get air command to work you'd either have to take out the S Pen from the smartphone or hover it over your screen and press this button on the S Pen on the Note 5. Once you remove the S Pen, Air Command will reside in this bubble which you can position anywhere on the screen. One tap on the bubble brings up Air Command and its improved features like Auto shape for exact cutouts and scroll capture for capturing long web pages or chats when plugged into a charger.

A full charge from zero to full on the Note 5 takes 90 minutes wirelessly, it takes 120 minutes which is comparable to fast charging on its little brother the S6 but more notable is its wireless charging boost. It takes 2 hours to fully charge a note 5 wirelessly about 33% faster than on the S6. Always an impressive camera, the Note 5 can outshoot any smartphone camera in 2015 it has the same exact camera on the S6 which for us is one of the best in 2015.

Pressing the home button twice in succession launches the camera in just under a second even when the display is off. This is a massive feature coupled with quick reflexes, you'll never miss a shot again. For content creators, there's a new video call G mode for creating Vine or Instagram videos like this and if you're into selfies, beauty face has been expanded with more options so you can get that perfect look.
