460 HP 2017 RTR Mustang GT - (Track) One Take

The Ford Mustang GT with the RTR Package: A High-Performance Machine

This is a standard Mustang GT that started out as a base model car, but it has been modified with the RTR package, which adds a plaque on the dash and floor mats. The RTR kit is worth $12,000 and includes additional performance features such as a Ford Performance stage one ECU tune, which provides an extra boost of horsepower. The car sounds great and is ready to hit the track.

As we take this Mustang out for a spin, it's clear that it's a high-performance machine. We'll be comparing its performance to other cars, including the BMW M3 and the Chevrolet Camaro, to see how it stacks up. The RTR package gives the car an edge in terms of power and handling, but it also makes it more expensive than a standard Mustang GT.

One thing that's noticeable about this car is its weight. It's a bit heavier than some of the other cars we've been testing, but that's likely due to the addition of performance features such as the Ford Performance stage one ECU tune and the RTR package. The suspension has also been optimized by someone who knows how to drive, which makes the car feel more agile and responsive.

The track day experience was exciting, with the car handling well and braking hard. The brakes are a lot better than those on some other cars we've tested, and they're able to stop the car quickly and efficiently. However, the car's weight can make it a bit harder to handle, especially when cornering or braking aggressively.

One of the things that surprised me about this car was how well it performed in track mode. The stability management system is very effective, and the car feels very stable and balanced. The exhaust note is also very satisfying, with a deep rumble that's music to the ears.

When I compared this car to the BMW M3, I was impressed by its performance. While the M3 had a slight edge in terms of handling and braking, the Mustang GT was still incredibly fast and responsive. The fact that it's able to keep up with a professional racing driver like JR made me realize just how capable this car is.

The RTR package is definitely worth the money, especially considering the level of performance it provides. However, I do think that some people may find the car's weight to be a bit of an issue, particularly when cornering or braking aggressively. Still, for most drivers, the benefits of the RTR package will far outweigh any drawbacks.

Overall, I'm very impressed with this Mustang GT and its performance capabilities. It's a great option for anyone looking for a high-performance car that can keep up with their driving skills. Whether you're a seasoned driver or just starting out, this car is sure to deliver excitement and thrills on the road and on the track.

The car's price point is also worth mentioning. At around $85,000, it's significantly cheaper than some of the other high-performance cars we've tested, including the Shelby GT350. However, when you consider that this car has the same level of performance as a Shelby, but for thousands less money, it becomes an attractive option.

One thing to note is that the RTR package is not just about the car's performance; it also includes some additional features such as a new exhaust system and suspension upgrades. These upgrades can make a big difference in terms of handling and braking, especially when cornering or driving aggressively.

The car's sound is also worth mentioning. The exhaust note is deep and satisfying, with a rich tone that's music to the ears. When you put the pedal to the metal, the engine growls and snarls, providing a thrilling soundtrack for your drive.

As we wrap up our time on the track, I'm reminded of just how capable this Mustang GT really is. It may not be the lightest or the most agile car out there, but it more than makes up for those weaknesses with its raw power and handling capabilities. Whether you're a seasoned driver or just starting out, this car is sure to deliver excitement and thrills on the road and on the track.

The Mustang's visibility on the track was not as good as that of the BMW M3, but it was better than some other cars we've tested, including the Chevrolet Camaro. The sound of the exhaust note, however, was a big plus for me. It provided a thrilling soundtrack for our time on the track.

The car's handling and braking capabilities are also worth mentioning. While it may not be as agile as some other cars out there, it more than makes up for that with its raw power and stability. The brakes were able to stop the car quickly and efficiently, even when cornering or braking aggressively.

One of the things I liked about this car was how well it performed under different conditions. Whether we were on a straight stretch of track or navigating turns, the car handled well and responded to my inputs eagerly. The stability management system was also very effective, keeping me stable and secure even when cornering or driving aggressively.

The RTR package gives this car an edge in terms of performance, but it also makes it more expensive than a standard Mustang GT. The car's weight can make it harder to handle, especially when cornering or braking aggressively. However, for most drivers, the benefits of the RTR package will far outweigh any drawbacks.

In conclusion, I highly recommend this Mustang GT with the RTR package to anyone looking for a high-performance car that can keep up with their driving skills. It's a great option for those who want a raw, unfiltered driving experience without breaking the bank.

music the people were nuts but racing has been really good we saw front-wheel drive track records set here in a 127 in an acura integra really just screaming fast numbers I did some live commentating of the time attack from Bluetooth from the m3 in the time attack it was real nutso grid life Midwest was amazing and I can't wait to do great life Atlanta this is gonna be my last car of my grid life track one takes and this is Vaughn Gittin jr. personal RTR spec to Mustang GT Vaughn has been a friend for a while and and I wanted to have a go in this when I drove the 2015 Mustang GT I thought that it was a little bouncy it handled bumpy roads well but you could feel things moving a lot underneath and and Vaughn has personally dialed in this chassis but to his liking so it features RTR spec lowering springs and adaptive dampers artsy r-spec sway bars new forged alloy wheels actually they might be cast wheels about artsy arse wheels this one has nto one tires on it which are not fully standard but it's a it's a track event and then it's got the RTR styling cues the stripes the the the exterior things and then you get a plaque on the dash and the the RTR floor mats so this is a standard Mustang GT that started out oh and there's also the Ford Performance stage one ECU tune which I believe is the warranty to tune and so I think you get a little more horsepower and this car sounds real nice and so we're gonna go out of the track and see how it do this kit is a 12 grand basically worth the stuff and has another window sticker on here 11 995 worth of stuff for the RTR kit which you can add on to pretty much any spec Mustang GT that you like I'm excited I think it should be good fun especially because I've driven you know a bunch this weekend the $80,000 sixty-five base $85,000 bmw m3 and so this is a similar power it's a little heavier but it's got an optimized suspension by someone that I know is a very good driver so we're gonna head out as soon as I get the flag and rip it a bit see how she do all right here we go last session of grid life to the Raceway visibility not as good as bmw m3 better than a Camaro create soundtrack is welcome for once because my first be a car of the entire hi or weekend this car has uh has seen some things it's been ripped up but by jr. pretty hard all weekend but turns it pretty nice brake pedals a little soft but I'm guessing that's because extract work gets put in all the stability management hanging off I'm in track mode still kind of a lumbering beast compared to be very agile and three and I realized some people finance me kind of an unfair comparison Mustang in the end three that's just sort of what I have it doesn't really makes sense to compare it to a Volvo Amazon now does it this turn did well hammer down being based on a GT mt2 6-speed gearbox as well these brakes are uh a lot better than last car I drove in fact I can definitely break wait a bit later infinite and of understeer there balancing it on throttle is not a big deal it doesn't rotate on its long away that'll feel is really nice bracelet talking to me good when what happened there traction control somehow turn itself back on often now it's on what's going on I'll hold this down again now it says advancetrac off again I don't know why traction control turned itself back puddle under steering feels nose-heavy and still quite a lot of performance for the money honestly with JR driving this car during the Time Attack session that I referenced earlier I went out in that m3 and junior professional racing driver meet me by five hundredths of a second here an old one three ran a 1:45 0.43 so very very close it's easier to drive that what is the really good turn down and I can feel their smaller snare you can absolutely get some oversteer happening with this thing but it just feels a bit heavier the nose pretty quick though nice little car these are our compound tire so they're they're sticky but they've been hammered on all weekend so they may or may not have shred remaining just on the rev limiter a third year there these brakes are holding up really well I'll still knows how fourth there instead of going up to fifth pretty much - all this racket yeah second here is a baby you can get the back out no problem especially if I go to second here back out no problem it's nice I like it it really does help bring some uh some new life into the standard Mustang GT cool it down a little bit before we go in but I understand this car I like it it's uh you know it is right under the base price and a Shelby it's a thousand less than the base price of Shelby and you know once you drive a Shelby with the the Voodoo engine the flat plane crank and all that and the Tremec gearbox and becomes tough to justify the real-world price however God says that you know the Shelby's aren't really changing hands at sticker at least not right now so you can get this for what has to be real-world price of a Shelby although that gearbox that makes selling any other Mustang a very tough thing to do but I think that the complaints I had about the Mustang g/t before regarding being a little wall away moving around on suspension and things like that are in many ways solved by this package and it's fun to drive and it's fast and it sounds good and I think juniors will sell a few of these probably so with that our grid life Midwest coverage and I thank all of you for watching I thank all of the people jr. included for handing over their keys for me to tried their cars and I will see you back in Los
