iPod touch 5G or Camcorder

**A True Video Recording Experience with the iPhone: A Comparison**

As I'm holding my iPhone 5th generation, I have to admit that I'm missing the experience of using a camcorder. The app on touch U I believe allows you to zoom using the iOS software, but it's digital zoom, and it pixelates no matter what. In other words, if you're looking for a better experience with actual optical zoom and actual camcorder quality in 1080P, then go for a camcorder.

**The Panasonic HTC SD 600k Camcorder**

I'm using the Panasonic HTC SD 600k, an amazing camcorder that I bought about two years ago. It was about $400 back when I bought it, and now it costs around $600 or $700. I don't know why it's still not affordable enough for me, but I do have a "camcorder curse" that follows me around.

**Additional Choices on Camcorders**

If you're looking for additional choices on camcorders, head over to gearpatrol.com. They offer a wide range of camcorders from various brands, and their reviews are always helpful in making an informed decision.

**The iPod Touch: A 1080p Camera, but at What Cost?**

The iPod touch has a 1080p rear-facing camera, but I don't really focus on that because holding the phone and not being able to see yourself is a huge deal breaker for me. The front-facing camera is where it shines, as you can obviously see yourself using the screen.

**The Importance of Backup**

Backup is utterly important, guys. It's literally life-saving when it comes to backing up your memories. Your hard drive will die, and if you're not backed up, you'll lose thousands of family photos or even your music or important documents. I've had several hard drives die, and trust me, you don't want to be in that position.

**Cloud Backup: The Future of Data Storage**

That's why I'm excited about cloud backup. It essentially means that you can back up your Mac and PC to the cloud and access your data on the go from anywhere. With my PC backup app using your iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad, Android Blackberry device, or any other device with internet access, you always have access to your files on the go.

**Affiliate Announcement: Backup and Sync Up**

I'm also excited to announce my newest affiliate website, backupandsyncup.com. It's a website all about cloud storage backup, and it gives you 14 days of free service. If you sign up for their lowest plan, which is $6 a month, that gives you 75 GB of online backup space. That's pretty incredible.

**Conclusion**

If you're interested in backing up your data, check out backupandsyncup.com. It gives you 14 days of free service, and if you sign up for their paid plans, the commission will go towards future videos that I'll be putting out for you guys.

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enhey guys David DeFranco here from d franco.com askk right there bam that is your open form to submit your questions and hopefully those questions will turn into videos such as this one today's question comes from Thomas D Goodwin I got to say that's a fancy last name and yes I'm using the world's smallest iPad now I accidentally left my iPad at my parents house so I'm using my iPhone 4S for today anyway Thomas the goodwi says hello this is a very simple question by the way iPod Touch fourth generation or or camcorder now I should say Thomas says IPA Touch fourth generation the newest one is the fifth generation so I'm going to concentrate only on the fifth generation especially since you say camcar I mean comparing the IP fourth gen to a camcar in terms of price difference it's way too large so for this video's purpose just as a you know quick disclaimer we're going to talk about iPod Touch fifth generation or camcorder let's jump right into it all right I got to start out by saying guys first of all the best tech purchase I probably made for 2012 was my iPod Touch fifth generation really I love it that much for two main reasons number one it's basically an iPhone 5 without the phone functionality now you may be wondering why David did you not get the iPhone 5 well because I'm not eligible for an upgrade and if I had to pay an early upgrade it would cost me hundreds of dollars I'm not going to do that right now and I love my iPhone 4S I really don't have any complaints about it I love the build quality I love the form factor uh but if I could get all the awesomeness of of the iPhone 5 but without the phone functionality then well why not so I went with it and reason number two is because of the front facing 720p FaceTime camera guys this camera is phenomenal for what it is now keep in mind you're not getting 1080p unfortunately maybe you we'll get that next year but you really do have to appreciate what Apple's giving us nowadays I mean we're getting a rener display with a 720p front-facing camera I say renter display because that finally coincides with the awesome resolution of this camera because last year's camera was that crappy VGA and VGA on a red display it doesn't look pretty so if you are looking for a simple solution uh but also have the option of you know thousands literally thousands of apps and not only that but access to the web browser and access to Twitter and Facebook all your favorite social media sites then go with the iPod touch the front-facing camera is awesome for it and if you are looking for U several examples of the quality just check on my channel just search for hurricane Sandy I did my update video using only the iPod touch and I also did another video of I think Jasmine and territory I may have called it either way the links were below check them out and overall guys I just got to say I really really really love the iPod T I mean guys I love it that much it's overall an awesome device but with that said if you are looking for a true video recording experience and with the expendability of possibly using um you know microphones or maybe filters or anything light or an actual Optical lens because the appon touch U I believe allows you to zoom using the iOS software but that's the thing it's digital Zoom so it's going to pixelate no matter what so in other words if you are looking for a better experience uh overall with you know actual optical zoom and actual camcorder quality in 1080P then go for a camcorder I'm using the Panasonic HTC SD 600k amazing camcorder uh back when I bought it like two years ago it was about $400 for whatever reason now it costs about 600 or 700 I'm not sure why I have this cam quitter curse that follows me around because the same thing happened with the S exacty VPC fh1 a I bought that for a couple hundred and now cost like 500 I don't know I don't have questions these well I don't have answers to these questions however if you are looking for additional choices on camcorders just head on over to gearpatrol.com back to the iPod touch it does have a 1080p rear facing camera but I don't really concentrate on that because this whole thing and you know of holding the phone and not being able to see yourself that to me is a huge deal breaker uh and that's another reason why I love camcoder so much and the front-facing camera because you can obviously see yourself using well the screen right here so that's definitely something you want to keep in mind so there you go Thomas I really hope that answered your question your timing was actually excellent because if anybody's thinking whether to ask for an iPod Touch fifth generation or a cam quitter for Christmas hanuk K quano all that good stuff well now you hopefully have your answer and now guys since the question is done I do have an exciting announcement that I'm excited to well announce and that is my newest affiliate website right back here backup and sync up.com check it out or backups sync up.com they both go to the same website this is my newest affiliate website uh having to do with cloud storage backup so guys if you are interested in backing up your data which I really hope you are check it out it gives you 14 days of free service uh but if you do sign up for the $6 a month plan that's their lowest plan uh that gives you 75 GB of online backup that's pretty incredible that's a lot of backup data and I'm really stressing this because backup is utterly important seriously guys listen to me backup is just it's literally life saving when it comes to backing up your memories I mean cuz your hard drive will die I've had several hard drives die and believe me you do not want to be in that position where you eventually lose thousands of family photos or even your music or important documents the point is back up your data if gets at one point or another your hard drive will crash but what's really cool about the service is it's cloud backup now what does that mean this essentially means that you can back up your Mac and PC well Mac and or PC to the cloud and access your data on the go from the my PC backup app using your iPhone iPod Touch iPad Android Blackberry device basically anything that has internet access you you always have access to your files on the go so check it out backup ands up.com you get 14 days of free service but I really do have to stress this guys if you do sign up for any of the paid plans that commission since I am an affiliate that commission goes towards future videos that I will be putting out for you guys so it's a win-win scenario so if you do sign up not only are you getting secure backup and nice peace of mind with your files but you're also helping me out cuz all that commission goes towards product unboxings of you know the Nexus t uh Nexus I combine the Nexus 7 and 10 the Nexus 10 Kindle Fire HD or any other future products that head our way so again check it out back up syn up.com all future promotions will be shorter than this but since this is kind of my introductory uh segment of this video I do want to stress so well check it out it's free to try out all right guys we have reached the end of today's video I will see you in tomorrow's video which is most likely another ask a question video if not then probably a first taste of the Boon uh Boon gum yeah the punon gum or P whatever you prefer to say but until then guys thank you so much watching your continued support means the world to me really does I'm just saying that lately a lot cuz of the
