Competing in G1GP with my JZX100 Cresta

**The Thrill of Competition: A Behind-the-Scenes Look at a Car Racing Event**

As I sat in the paddock, watching the competitors prepare for their qualifying runs, I couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement and anticipation. The air was electric with tension, and the roar of the engines seemed to build my own adrenaline levels. I had been following this event closely, and I knew that only a handful of drivers would make it to the top of their respective groups. As I glanced at the judges' score sheets, I noticed that one driver in particular seemed to be pulling ahead - I was stoked to see him on the leaderboard.

**A Brief Moment of Gloom**

As I reflected on my own performance, I couldn't help but feel a twinge of disappointment. My cough, which I had been affectionately calling "the Black Plague," seemed to have taken its toll on my driving skills. Despite my best efforts, I just couldn't seem to shake off the lingering effects of this pesky illness. But as I looked around at my fellow competitors, I knew that it was all just part of the game - and besides, a little cough wasn't going to hold me back from having fun.

**The Thrill of the Final**

As we made our way through the qualifying process, I couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement building. The competition was fierce, and every driver seemed to be pushing themselves to new heights. When Grant and I were announced as the top two drivers in our respective groups, I knew that this was going to be an epic showdown. The question on everyone's mind was - who would emerge victorious? Only time would tell.

**A Moment of Inspiration**

As we stood at the starting line, waiting for the green flag to drop, I couldn't help but feel a sense of awe at the sheer power and speed of these machines. The engines roared to life, and we were off - our tires screeching as we hurtled around the track. In the heat of the moment, I felt like I was in my element, completely immersed in the thrill of racing.

**A Lesson Learned**

But despite my best efforts, I couldn't shake off the feeling that I had let myself down. My driving skills seemed to have deserted me, and I found myself struggling to find my rhythm on the track. As I reflected on what had gone wrong, I realized that this was an area where I needed to improve - learning to stay focused and composed under pressure. It was a valuable lesson, one that I knew would serve me well in the long run.

**A Chance Encounter**

As we waited for our next qualifying run, I struck up a conversation with my fellow competitor, Ronnie. We chatted about everything from cars to music, and before I knew it, we were laughing like old friends. It was moments like these that reminded me of why I loved this sport - the camaraderie, the thrill of competition, and the sense of community that came with being part of a shared passion.

**A Glimpse into the Mind of a Competitor**

As I sat in the paddock, watching my fellow competitors prepare for their qualifying runs, I couldn't help but wonder what was going through their minds. What strategies were they employing? How were they managing the pressure and stress of competition? And what drives them to keep pushing themselves to new heights? It's a question that I know I'll be asking myself as I reflect on my own performance - and one that I'm sure many of our readers will be asking themselves as well.

**A Little Distracted**

As we made our way through the qualifying process, I found myself getting a little distracted by the sights and sounds around me. The Porsche Museum dinner was still fresh in my mind, and I couldn't help but feel a pang of regret for missing out on the fun. But as I focused back on the task at hand, I knew that I had to stay present - and let my driving speak for itself.

**The Unpredictability of Racing**

As we stood at the starting line, waiting for the green flag to drop, I couldn't help but feel a sense of respect for the unpredictability of racing. The weather, the track conditions, the competition - all of these factors can come into play in an instant. It's a sport that requires adaptability and resilience, as well as raw talent and skill. And yet, despite its many challenges, I knew that this was what made it so thrilling to watch - and what drew me back time and again to the thrill of competition.

**The Power of Positive Thinking**

As I reflected on my own performance, I realized that positive thinking played a crucial role in my driving skills. When I'm focused and confident, I know that I can overcome any obstacle that comes my way. And yet, when I get caught up in self-doubt or negativity, I find myself struggling to stay on track - quite literally. It's a lesson that I knew I'd carry with me long after the racing was over.

**A Last-Minute Reflection**

As we made our final push for the top spot on the leaderboard, I couldn't help but reflect on what had brought me here today. The thrill of competition, the sense of community, the rush of adrenaline - all of these things combined to make this an experience I would never forget. And as I crossed the finish line, exhausted but exhilarated, I knew that I'd be back for more - eager to face whatever challenges lay ahead and to push myself to new heights.

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: entoday is the day of the g1 comp unfortunately it's raining a bit so that kind of make things interesting but we're heading over to the track there's like a two-hour line last night to mount tires me mount tires real quick go practice a bit before the comp mascara you're doing the comp guys bread and hangover and if you did it then he would win and then you wouldn't have a rental car ride car so load it up I'm about to go for qualifying but look who showed up fry guy fry guy in the front guy spaghetti meat sauce guy I'm gonna start calling you Chef Boyardee this is the new fake ganador guy we'll see about that you better just jinx yourself so we're going out to do our qualifying runs as we're out on track I'll try to explain you guys what necessarily the judges are looking for I'm just kind of been focusing and practicing all day tracks a little bit different than driving but I'm gonna do my best honey gloves can't forget the gloves that's a must not like I have actually been liking YouTube driving with clubs and like living thing but I'm only wearing them because it's a requirement actually hopefully the GoPro isn't too blown out I'm gonna play with settings after this one I just kind of ran out of time for qualifying so the biggest challenge of this whole situation is going to be when we're following people maintaining speed around this upper Hill up here it's very easy to wash out and then you get left so that's one of the main things for me to focus on but what the judges want to see is kind of shallow going down the hill and then a very big flick with lots of throttle commitment obviously it's a little bit different in the rain but I'll try to get my best version what they're looking for - out here the sky is fun so we're gonna have to redo that you can see how loose it is understeer and oversteer and all over the place I hope no one runs like zesty nose or semi-slick in the back because it's gonna be a very big competitive advantage there's kind of like a gentlemen's agreement that we're all gonna run ten days but I'm pretty sure some people are still running the right there I washed out too much but that's kind of what they want to see for the flesh the Southside like minimal handbrake actually then it's a minimal ham break the course actually stops like halfway through that corner because it doesn't can't see anymore so that's kind of cool doing as many laps as you can mr. Paxton it's really hard to stay shallow down that hill maybe with my tires warm up it'll be you that wasn't good the ways we have results those pretty trippy look at that it's been a minute finally we were gonna drive together on this trip yeah cars working just a little bit of maintenance but we'll be able to do some tandems yeah so it's pretty exciting I'll actually thinks I might have qualified so fingers crossed it was doing really good I was having a look at the judges like the little score sheets and I think you may have been at the top of your group they'll be saying I'm excited Tommy and I were just talking about this cough that we've had we like to refer to it as the Black Plague yeah we got some all black German call yeah and won't go away so we're probably gonna go see a doctor in Germany over to journey okay we caught this cough in your country you guys know what it is you guys oh yeah so maybe it'll give us a sweet BMW dude you know what you're you're like talking about getting this em--to and then you went and got an Evo and then you're in Germany your Japan buying more cars give this guy what do you think what do you think I should buy it let's get you shoulda GTR - yeah that'd be kind of cool top yeah I qualified second so I'm stoked on that grand qualified - which is awesome so last might as well though with those fake gamma doors right but we second being grant went up against each other kind of settle the fake ended or dispute once and for all wait I think you guys will be up against each other I mean there's a possibility that would be so cool I didn't I didn't look at the tree but I think it's possible maybe cool yeah who knows maybe maybe say confused on the other side of the tree so you're like come together in the final the epic that would say whoever wins gets the channel gets the Gator doors I guess it's time to start lining up for the cop we're all lined up here it's kind of like the hot pits up on top of the track where you go on and then we're all just gonna watch it up on this ledge grants actually about to go how's a good save yes grant killed it don't really know why that was one more time they got a suction that to happen but straight happens it's everything still that I'm going to just affect you like made of this far my first practice lap on track a little iffy but that's okay we're leaving first in them we're gonna follow mine was a little weird I kind of like through a little bit too much around the hill but we'll do our best have some fun drive hard so as we're driving after a while just like kind of standing and not driving if they're a really deep on that on Hill I don't know why but it's okay some fun do this follow again and hope for the best I've never screw myself up I like sucking too far on the inside that stinks I'm sad that was not good driving on my part I shouldn't I like kind of choked myself up oh I won I did not expect that I was not feeling good hopefully the next one I'll be a little bit more fresh but man I was so deep on that hill and I didn't I tried through the inside line because they said it was faster because I kept thinking left on the corner but in my kind of sent me for that first word just went so slow but either way we're good so did not expect one that whoa all right we're following first on this one that sucks I should I should have run more inside the stupid app thing always screws me up right now I'm sad it's okay I didn't I just wish that I like didn't get capped on that corner said a better chance at a follow Sodom at least I did okay it's funny and I called it that's what was gonna happen I was gonna wash out and drift and then lose cuz I got left sad of I guess it's one of those things where like I'm not really bummed that I lost I just wished that I drove the best that I could am lost like that just felt like sloppy driving so I'm more upset with myself than something I also think isn't really a strength of mine is having to like kind of wait for a while and then go back to drifting I like to kind of get in the zone and then I Drive really well whereas if I like to sit for a while it kind of throws me off I know the Champaign he's getting a little yeah he's gonna wear though they they're doing this like rock-paper-scissors thing for a bunch of free stuff pretty cool I won twice gorilla prepositional g1 GP style you'll watch the Neos cure how much I might have Rudnick would do it yeah we'd all be arrested if he was yeah we definitely would blow up the city okay remember the Porsche Museum dinner hey Ronnie you should go steal some alcohol okay I'll take the whole bottle I forgot about that everyone went to the bar after Manami right now your girlfriendtoday is the day of the g1 comp unfortunately it's raining a bit so that kind of make things interesting but we're heading over to the track there's like a two-hour line last night to mount tires me mount tires real quick go practice a bit before the comp mascara you're doing the comp guys bread and hangover and if you did it then he would win and then you wouldn't have a rental car ride car so load it up I'm about to go for qualifying but look who showed up fry guy fry guy in the front guy spaghetti meat sauce guy I'm gonna start calling you Chef Boyardee this is the new fake ganador guy we'll see about that you better just jinx yourself so we're going out to do our qualifying runs as we're out on track I'll try to explain you guys what necessarily the judges are looking for I'm just kind of been focusing and practicing all day tracks a little bit different than driving but I'm gonna do my best honey gloves can't forget the gloves that's a must not like I have actually been liking YouTube driving with clubs and like living thing but I'm only wearing them because it's a requirement actually hopefully the GoPro isn't too blown out I'm gonna play with settings after this one I just kind of ran out of time for qualifying so the biggest challenge of this whole situation is going to be when we're following people maintaining speed around this upper Hill up here it's very easy to wash out and then you get left so that's one of the main things for me to focus on but what the judges want to see is kind of shallow going down the hill and then a very big flick with lots of throttle commitment obviously it's a little bit different in the rain but I'll try to get my best version what they're looking for - out here the sky is fun so we're gonna have to redo that you can see how loose it is understeer and oversteer and all over the place I hope no one runs like zesty nose or semi-slick in the back because it's gonna be a very big competitive advantage there's kind of like a gentlemen's agreement that we're all gonna run ten days but I'm pretty sure some people are still running the right there I washed out too much but that's kind of what they want to see for the flesh the Southside like minimal handbrake actually then it's a minimal ham break the course actually stops like halfway through that corner because it doesn't can't see anymore so that's kind of cool doing as many laps as you can mr. Paxton it's really hard to stay shallow down that hill maybe with my tires warm up it'll be you that wasn't good the ways we have results those pretty trippy look at that it's been a minute finally we were gonna drive together on this trip yeah cars working just a little bit of maintenance but we'll be able to do some tandems yeah so it's pretty exciting I'll actually thinks I might have qualified so fingers crossed it was doing really good I was having a look at the judges like the little score sheets and I think you may have been at the top of your group they'll be saying I'm excited Tommy and I were just talking about this cough that we've had we like to refer to it as the Black Plague yeah we got some all black German call yeah and won't go away so we're probably gonna go see a doctor in Germany over to journey okay we caught this cough in your country you guys know what it is you guys oh yeah so maybe it'll give us a sweet BMW dude you know what you're you're like talking about getting this em--to and then you went and got an Evo and then you're in Germany your Japan buying more cars give this guy what do you think what do you think I should buy it let's get you shoulda GTR - yeah that'd be kind of cool top yeah I qualified second so I'm stoked on that grand qualified - which is awesome so last might as well though with those fake gamma doors right but we second being grant went up against each other kind of settle the fake ended or dispute once and for all wait I think you guys will be up against each other I mean there's a possibility that would be so cool I didn't I didn't look at the tree but I think it's possible maybe cool yeah who knows maybe maybe say confused on the other side of the tree so you're like come together in the final the epic that would say whoever wins gets the channel gets the Gator doors I guess it's time to start lining up for the cop we're all lined up here it's kind of like the hot pits up on top of the track where you go on and then we're all just gonna watch it up on this ledge grants actually about to go how's a good save yes grant killed it don't really know why that was one more time they got a suction that to happen but straight happens it's everything still that I'm going to just affect you like made of this far my first practice lap on track a little iffy but that's okay we're leaving first in them we're gonna follow mine was a little weird I kind of like through a little bit too much around the hill but we'll do our best have some fun drive hard so as we're driving after a while just like kind of standing and not driving if they're a really deep on that on Hill I don't know why but it's okay some fun do this follow again and hope for the best I've never screw myself up I like sucking too far on the inside that stinks I'm sad that was not good driving on my part I shouldn't I like kind of choked myself up oh I won I did not expect that I was not feeling good hopefully the next one I'll be a little bit more fresh but man I was so deep on that hill and I didn't I tried through the inside line because they said it was faster because I kept thinking left on the corner but in my kind of sent me for that first word just went so slow but either way we're good so did not expect one that whoa all right we're following first on this one that sucks I should I should have run more inside the stupid app thing always screws me up right now I'm sad it's okay I didn't I just wish that I like didn't get capped on that corner said a better chance at a follow Sodom at least I did okay it's funny and I called it that's what was gonna happen I was gonna wash out and drift and then lose cuz I got left sad of I guess it's one of those things where like I'm not really bummed that I lost I just wished that I drove the best that I could am lost like that just felt like sloppy driving so I'm more upset with myself than something I also think isn't really a strength of mine is having to like kind of wait for a while and then go back to drifting I like to kind of get in the zone and then I Drive really well whereas if I like to sit for a while it kind of throws me off I know the Champaign he's getting a little yeah he's gonna wear though they they're doing this like rock-paper-scissors thing for a bunch of free stuff pretty cool I won twice gorilla prepositional g1 GP style you'll watch the Neos cure how much I might have Rudnick would do it yeah we'd all be arrested if he was yeah we definitely would blow up the city okay remember the Porsche Museum dinner hey Ronnie you should go steal some alcohol okay I'll take the whole bottle I forgot about that everyone went to the bar after Manami right now your girlfriend\n"
