How to Reset Your Xbox One to Factory Default: A Step-by-Step Guide
Before we begin, it's essential to understand that resetting your Xbox One to factory default will erase everything on the console. This means that all game saves, downloaded games, and other content will be deleted. However, you can recover some of your games by signing in with your Gamertag through digital downloads.
You should also note that at this time, it's not possible to back up your data to a memory stick. Therefore, if you want to preserve any of your content, you'll need to use the cloud storage option. Please keep this in mind as we proceed with the reset process.
To begin, find the Settings app on your Xbox One. You can locate it by going to My Games and Apps or speaking to your console and asking it to go to settings. Since I've recently used the app, you should be able to find it in the upper left corner of the screen. If you don't see it there, simply scroll to the right until you find it.
Once you're in the Settings app, navigate to System. As you can see, System is already highlighted for me, but you can move your cursor over to it if needed. From here, the process becomes straightforward. Go down to Restore Factory Defaults and select Yes. This will completely erase everything on your console, as stated.
Before proceeding with the reset, make sure that the password has been removed. If you don't have the password, you'll need to contact Microsoft or get in touch with a parent or whoever has access to the password. Once you've taken care of this step, you can hit Yes and everything will be reset to factory default.
The process is relatively straightforward, but if you have any questions, please feel free to comment below. I'll do my best to address any concerns you may have.
