CHRISTMAS ROOM TOUR _ COZY CABIN BEDROOM 2016

Decorating My Christmas Bedroom with Thrifty Finds

I recently had the pleasure of decorating my Christmas bedroom using some thrifty finds from various stores like Hobby Lobby, Dollar Tree, and Target. I must say, it was quite an exciting experience to see how these affordable items could come together to create a beautiful and cozy space.

One of my favorite decorative pieces is this adorable little container that I picked up at Hobby Lobby after Christmas was over. Although it had some broken pieces, I didn't mind it because it added a rustic charm to the room. The floral arrangement in the Dollar Tree vase complemented the container perfectly, creating a beautiful centerpiece for the room.

I also have a faux pine cone candle from Dollar Tree that has been a part of my decor for a very long time. Although I never wanted to light it initially, I decided to keep it in its original form as a decorative piece. The addition of some embellishments and new pieces around the vase made the arrangement complete.

To add more depth to the room's decor, I chose to add more embellishments. When in doubt, adding more is often the best policy when it comes to decorating for Christmas. I found that this principle worked wonders for me, and my room turned out looking more beautiful than ever.

One of my standout decorative pieces is a gorgeous white fox figurine from HomeGoods. It was featured in my previous Candyland-themed room tour video, but I decided to display it on my bed instead. You can check out the video by clicking on the link below. The fox added a touch of elegance and sophistication to the room, which complemented the rustic charm of the container perfectly.

I also have an adorable "O dear" sign from Target Dollar Spot that adds a playful touch to the room. I love how it features a plaid pattern, which matches the color scheme of my room. The addition of this sign made the room feel more complete and festive.

To incorporate more greenery into the space, I chose to add some pictures of waves that I took myself at the beach. I removed them from their original frame and replaced them with new frames featuring a winter wonderland theme. This added a calming element to the room and created a beautiful contrast between the natural scenery and the festive decorations.

For my top shelf, I wanted to create a pop of green using some garland with red ornaments on it. I'm planning to add this as soon as possible, which will elevate the space and give it a more luxurious feel reminiscent of Pottery Barn or Pure Home decor. I'll be visiting Hobby Lobby to purchase more plaid fabric to complete the look.

One final touch that I wanted to share is how I repurposed some canvas paintings to create a beautiful winter landscape. Initially, I had planned to cover them with fabric in three different plaid patterns, but I didn't have enough plaid fabric on hand. Instead, I decided to use Dollar Tree glue dots to stick the fabric to the canvas, which worked out surprisingly well.

To add some extra flair to my room's decor, I chose to flip the paintings upside down and apply the glue dots strategically to create a beautiful winter landscape. The results were stunning! Although it required some patience and care when handling the delicate lines on the painting, it was well worth the effort in the end.

With all the decorations in place, my Christmas bedroom is now complete and ready for the holiday season. I'm thrilled with how everything came together using these affordable thrifty finds from various stores. Whether you're a fan of rustic charm or elegant sophistication, there's something on this list that should inspire your own decorating endeavors.

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enthe H with BS of te the season to be Char la la la la la la la we now our gay apparel TR the ancient y TI Carol la la Merry Christmas everyone today I want to take you on a tour through my bedroom it's a little echoey in here just because I have wood floors I don't have a rug just yet I am going to be doing a updated like room makeover for the actual like everyday Decor I talked about this in my last room decor tour video which I did a different Christmas Version in here and it was more like a girly inspired Candy Land Theme so I will link that video down below as well as the one for 2015 so that you can kind of see the differences of how I placed all the decor and you know what's new this year versus last year one of the biggest things that's new this year is going to be the furniture itself last year is very dark had a lot of like uh dark woods and leather and I'm going for more obviously white furniture cuz I still have my beach theme but otherwise I did go ahead and put up my favorite Decor it's like my rustic cabin Lodge it definitely just I it's like it's my spirit animal the deer The Woodlands all things about that just makes me completely happy and this is how I've decorated it this year it's different yet kind of the same and I am missing some furniture so unfortunately I didn't have a lot of like desktop space to put a lot of my Decor so next year be ready because next year this room is going to be head to toe Christmas so if you want to see how I put this together then keep watching because I'm so excited especially to talk about that right there so I will give you kind of a 360 view here and the light will kind of keep changing a little bit of color so I'm sorry if it goes from like yellow to white but this is what the other side of the room looks like so over here there's this huge wall and it's pretty much blank it's where I had my dresser last year but I don't actually have any furniture here I'm going to put two chairs and end table and some like mirrors here and of course as you can tell there's a very big deer theme going on here and this is Dollar Tree's last year deer silhouette he has not come back out this year I've seen a new one um but I really do love this silhouette and this was last year's DIY so again I'll link that video down below I simply wrapped a book with plaid and added this embellishment and this was last year's DIY as well one of my favorites of all time and then this is a Candle jar I don't like I don't know I can't even think of the name right now but when you add a tealight this little silhouette glows how beautiful is that it's a little woodland landscape and then over here I have my favorite candle apples and Evergreen so here is my bed and I'm just loving how it looks it's very cozy over here I have my throw blanket just very beautiful and soft and it has like a cream white color and then here is my Christmas planner that I recently just put up on my channel and I thought that this just looked really stunning in here and I just wanted to give you guys a really great like view of what my planner looks like and then here is the bed and the bedding and the pillows so the bedding I got on gettington.com my mom ordered this for me last year and as soon as I mentioned that in my video in 2015 the the bedding was completely sold out so I don't know if they still have this specific bedding or not but that is where my mom got it it was a KingSize because last year I had a king-size bed this is a queen but honestly it still fit perfectly so essentially what I did was I put the sheets that came with the bedding the snowflakes and the white and I just put it on my bed I did have to tuck it in a little bit on one side again because it's a king-size sheet not a queen but honestly it hasn't even moved an inch so that's worked out really well I even put on the loose sheet on top I don't know if it's called a loose sheet it's not the fitted sheet but whatever that other sheet is called and then I decided I wasn't just going to throw on the the comforter on top I was going to add my white original comforter the one that I use every single day throughout the year and then I would add the um the red comforter on top almost like a throw blanket or something and I thought that it just looked stunning and honestly keeps me very very warm and my ceilings are super high so it takes a long time to get this room warm so having that extra blanket on top of a blanket is perfect and then I added these pillows here to my bed I knew that I had to add some white into to it just to kind of break up all the patterns that are going on and there are a couple different variations of red but overall I still think it looks really really great and this ski season is open pillow I bought after Christmas was over last year I hauled it and I think I got it at Tuesday morning and I shared that in a haul um so as soon as I got it I was really excited for Christmas 2016 and I can't believe we're here now so it's kind of crazy how the year has flown by and then I added the same lights that I did last last year to my bed they are the deer lights and they came from the target dollar spot I have two strands of it and I just basically use some tape to kind of keep them up there now on top of my bed is this Dollar Tree Garland I just thought that it gave it more of a like outdoorsy Woodlands feel you know you really need to pull in that green because pretty much this room is all red and it just really did complement my headboard but otherwise eventually as time goes on I will be getting a thicker Garland and you know fluffing it with a lot of like red ornaments and green ornaments so it will look really extravagant but you know hey this is what I'm doing for this year and that's how I do it each year I add a little bit more on this nightstand I pretty much almost have mirrored from the other side I have this deer picture and this one is gold whereas the other one was red this is the candle holder it's just a smaller version of the other one it also illuminates because there is is a tealight in here you could also use a flameless candle type thing in there I think that would work really well as well and then I have this cute little guy I think he came from the target Dollar spot I really not sure but I believe so from last year and then I have this really gorgeous Lantern this is usually in my kitchen but I thought this would look really beautiful in here and this one's Navy so it kind of breaks up all the red and it has Santa Claus and then of course to make any room just a good old cup of hot chocolate with some yummy marshmallows and this mug is gorgeous because it's like a Christmas sweater pattern I got this as a gift last year this is where I have my TV and my cable box my DVD player and I just put this box up here it went completely with this room we got the deer it's got the sweater print so it's perfect I love the red it's so vibrant and then here's another gift box down here it's very glittery and beautiful and has Santa and a puppy look at all of those little puppies so cute there's even kitty cats in his pocket adorable the tag is covering up Santa's face but that is what he looks like his his um Santa suit is beautiful all right so over here is the top of my dresser and this is where I added this cute little container I got this at Hobby Lobby after Christmas was over has some broken pieces but that's okay it has a very rustic charm to it so I love it and these are a Dollar Tree floral and this is a faux pine cone candle I've had this for a very long time time I've never wanted to light it just because I wanted to keep it in its original form over here we just have some more embellishment and at first I didn't have these two pieces in here and then it just kind of didn't seem right so if you ever feel like it's not enough it probably needs a little bit more so whenn in doubt honestly add more so that's just kind of what I found to be really successful in decorating for Christmas you just cannot have enough and they're so adorable look how cute they are and then here is my gorgeous white fox I got him at the HomeGoods store he was in my Candyland room tour as well but he was actually sitting on my bed so go check out that video and see what he look like and then I have this o dear sign I think this was from Target dollar spot last year so gorgeous he's got the Plaid pattern and then this is my floral now this is my everyday Floral in my room I just simply took some red glitter berries and stuck them on the inside and then I added a red glitter bow to give it a Christmas Vibe and then up here I have this little ledge where I keep pictures and this is kind of what I had last year I typically have pictures of waves in here that I took myself at the beach I simply just remove them and put in these which I DIY myself and that was in last year's bedroom decor video so I'll link it down below and then this was this year's Decor Dollar Tree Decor picture frame video and I will link that video down below as well I just figured this old vintage car would look perfect in here so I really want to add some more to the top I feel like it's missing like a pop of green I think that a piece of Garland with some like red um ornaments on it would look stunning up here it would really kind of elevate this and make it look very po Pottery Barn or pure one so that is next on my list to do so saving the best for last because this is actually what I wanted to do last year but I never got around to it so essentially above my bed I have three canvas paintings that all go together and form one landscape and I wanted I knew I wanted to cover them I wanted to repurpose them temporarily by basically adding a piece of fabric over it and that's exactly what I've done here I actually wanted to do all three all three plaid but I didn't have enough plaid um fabric I didn't have the lady cut enough so this will do for now but otherwise I will be going back to Hobby Lobby to get more plaid Fabric and then I'll be completing the other two on the other side my canvas and I flipped it over and I used Dollar Tree glue dots and they worked out extremely well and I had to be very careful with this pattern because it does have lines and you you want to make sure that all your lines look straight and that they're not wobbly so I made sure that when I was pulling around the canvas frame that the lines were straight so that was it I basically just turned it back around and then I used glue dots for my deer as well and it did fall a couple times So eventually I just kind of went back and added some like really sticky tape and that so far has held pretty well I didn't want to glue hot glue him down just because this is temporary and I didn't want the hot glue to go through through the fabric onto the canvas because after Christmas is over I will be removing the Plaid Fabric and putting back the original canvas all right guys so that is the tour of my room I hope that you really enjoyed it this is the second option that I talked about in the first Decor video for Candy Land so this is it for my personal Christmas bedroom decor I'm obsessed with this and I'll tell you something I remember last year I took it down kind of right after Christmas and I really miss missed this Decor so I'm telling myself this year I'm going to keep it around till past January just because it's not overly Christmas it's more like winter if you will and I feel like this will look really well you know passed into January so I am going to hold on to this in my room for a little bit longer honestly I'm really really proud of this room because everything in here was so inexpensive aside from the furniture and even the furniture was inexpensive too all right that's it that's my bedroom room decor and thank you guys so much for watching and I'll see you soon byethe H with BS of te the season to be Char la la la la la la la we now our gay apparel TR the ancient y TI Carol la la Merry Christmas everyone today I want to take you on a tour
