Apple TV 4K 2024 Rumors & Wanted Features! What’s Next 📺
"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enit's been almost 2 years since Apple refreshed the Apple TV here's what the rumors are saying about a potential successor and when we may see it before we get too deep be sure you're subscribed to the Channel with those notifications turned on so you don't miss my latest video Apple introduced the current Apple TV 4K in October of 22 it was a minor spec upgrade finally swapping that lightning port on the Ser remote for a USBC Port upgrading to a new a15 bionic processor on the inside a 128 gig storage option and brought HDR 10 plus support it had replaced the outgoing model that was only introduced roughly a year beforehand plus the price point dropped to19 or 179 for that larger storage tier this was also the end of the Apple TV HD but after that last upgrade things have been fairly silent as a one of my favorite Apple products of all time I have been a bit anxious waiting to hear about an upgrade which apparently may be coming sooner rather than later by the way how many of you out there use Apple TV I want to hear all of you sound off down below in the comments anyway the most notable rumor about a new Apple TV comes from Bloomberg saying that Apple was readying a new Apple TV unit to launch in the first half of 2024 considering it you know is June this seems unlikely German continues that not only is a new box coming but will keep with the same design as it has now which comes as no real surprise it's a small black box that sits idly in your living room console not a lot of changes that really need to be made so if it has the same appearance what else will Apple change the first obvious choice is to upgrade the internal CPU that a15 chip is still more than enough for playing back 4K video in most of today's Apple arcade games but if Apple does plan to introduce new AI features and push harder into gaming it's going to need something more we could see the continue use of the bass series chip and bump to the a16 Apple could go for the high-end version and include the a17 pro that's found in the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max or it could mix things up completely and go with an M series chip as found in the iPad Air iPad Pro and the entire Mac lineup that's my vote despite a faster CPU mingi quo has suggested that Apple's looking to dip into that sub $100 price point this could be a second model or could just be trying to lower the entry-level storage price this would be crucial for Apple to continue to compete against Roku Amazon's fire stick and chomecast honestly those are the biggest rumors we've heard so far which feels like anyone could have made those guesses shocker that Apple wants a faster processor for a quiet spec upgrade uh but there are other things that Apple could add here take the Siri remote for example it's solid but Apple needs to add proper findm you can use your iPhone to track it down but it definitely needs the Precision tracking found in airpods Pro and Airtec plus a speaker it's still way too easy to at lost and the current tracking doesn't cut it one feature I'd like to see does have some weight behind it it would be great for some sort of FaceTime accessory some sort of camera whether built into the box itself or as a wired add-on to set a top your TV Bloomberg said that apple had been considering this for a future Apple TV but sto short of saying it was imminent in this new version right now you're forced to use your iPhone or iPad which can be kind of annoying on the software side Apple needs to increase the amount of storage games can use we've run into this recently with the launch of emulators apps on Apple TV can only have 500 Koby of persistent storage which is barely enough for a save file it's why we've largely not seen emulators on Apple TV like we have on iPhone there isn't enough room to store any loaded games and if you do load them to Apple TV they can be quickly discarded if the Apple TV wants that storage back I've said it before but if Apple really wants to take gaming seriously it needs an upgraded Apple TV with more storage a better GPU and the software to enable it we're getting Assassin's Creed on iPhone and iPad but not on the Apple TV Apple needs to do something to fix this regardless we'll know more about the software side of Apple TV at WWDC and we'll have to wait to see what Hardware will follow let me know down
