Logitech BRIO 4k vs. C922 vs. C920 1080p Quality Comparison in STUDIO lighting! 1080p KING!

**Setting Up Webcams in a Studio Environment**

As I began setting up my webcams in a studio environment, I realized that each one had its own unique characteristics and quirks. One of the first things I noticed was that some of the Auto settings were still applying to every single camera, which made it difficult to achieve consistency across all of them.

To get around this, I decided to crank up the saturation as a starting point, hoping that it would be about the best kind of comparison I could get. I had video footage of the setup, which I planned to use as B-roll or whatever was necessary to illustrate my points. With three Big O studio lights set up on a plain background, I ensured that there wouldn't be any trouble with focusing or backlight issues.

I also made sure that everything was set to manual mode wherever possible, except for one setting that still applied to every camera - Auto settings. As I adjusted the settings and watched the Brio get darker, it became apparent that even with manual settings, some cameras were not responding as expected. This led me to wonder if there was something specific about each webcam's hardware or software that was causing this issue.

To understand this better, I took a closer look at each webcam individually. The Brio, of course, stood out due to its ability to shoot 60 frames per second, while the other two were limited to 30. This made it an advantage in terms of motion and video quality.

However, as I continued testing, I realized that autofocus was another area where these webcams fell short. The C920 was particularly problematic, losing focus entirely when trying to grab a specific point. On the other hand, the C922 and Brio handled autofocus relatively well, even at close distances or farther away from the camera.

One of my goals for this project was to compare how each webcam performed in different lighting conditions, as I often receive feedback that webcams don't hold up well under real-world lighting situations. To achieve this, I set up a studio environment with plenty of natural light and then adjusted the settings on each webcam to see how they would perform.

The results were interesting - some webcams performed much better than others when exposed to varying levels of brightness and color temperature. The Brio, in particular, seemed to struggle when faced with strong white light or mixed lighting conditions. On the other hand, the C920 held up relatively well even when placed under harsher lighting conditions.

Another aspect I wanted to compare was microphone quality, as this is often an overlooked factor in webcam reviews. To do this, I set up a notepad program and performed some quick typing tests using Cherry MX Blues with O-rings, which are known for their excellent sound quality. The Logitech Brio microphone performed reasonably well, but the C920 microphone was noticeably better.

As I continued testing the webcams, I realized that there were some inherent limitations to these devices that made it difficult to fine-tune settings or achieve consistent results. For example, when adjusting the camera settings on the Brio, I found that the software would often revert to its default values as soon as I closed the setting window.

This lack of control over the webcams was frustrating, especially since they are essentially cameras and should be able to be adjusted like any other camera. Logitech or webcam manufacturers have not provided users with full control over these devices, which makes it difficult to fine-tune settings for optimal performance.

Finally, I decided to compare the microphone quality of each webcam using the same typing tests as before. The results were inconclusive, and I'm unsure if there's any significant difference between these microphones. However, I do plan on conducting further research into this area in the future.

Overall, my experience with setting up webcams in a studio environment has been enlightening, to say the least. While each webcam has its unique strengths and weaknesses, there are also some inherent limitations that make it difficult to achieve consistent results.

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enwhat's going on guys my name's Adam rles box and you're watching another webcam comparison times three all right so this has been a hell of a project to set up and the results aren't even what I was hoping but my goal here is to provide a comparison between the Logitech Brio webcam the c922 and the C920 Logitech webcams at full 1080p so I've got them all recording within the same OBS composition c922 is glitching out sometimes so if I cut away from it to just the other two that's why I don't want you to see the flickers the whole time their drivers are insane especially when you get multiple cameras going and the c922 keeps randomly changing its settings on its own even got the menu pulled up here to try to fix it and there is no fixing what's going on with my face in this video I I don't know at this point like it does not like me I will say that let's crank the saturation back up this is about the best kind of comparison you're probably going to get I've I've got video of it I will show as b-roll or whatever I've got three Big O studio lights set up a plain background so it doesn't have trouble focusing or have any backlight issues I've got everything set to as manual as possible some Auto settings are still applying to every single camera and there's nothing I can do about it watch the Brio get darker it's just getting as dark as possible because all this white I have everything set to manual there's nothing that should be changing its brightness and yet it's just kind of going on a own but this is what each webcam looks at 1920x 1080 the Brio webcam of course gets to do 60 frames per second whereas the other two are limited to 30 uh so that is an advantage but these are what the the three webcams look like I've color and saturation and that kind of thing will be different but the autofocus is actually something that is worth studying here as it has improved slightly but it's still not so great it's worse at 4K but at 1080p on the Brio it's doing all right here you can see the C920 starts completely losing focus it going blurry trying to grab that autofocus back whereas the c922 and the Brio kind of hot out just fine get real close and way back back to the middle get real close and way back back to the middle get real close and way back back to the middle get real close and way back back to the middle this is really cool to look at honestly like I spent like an hour getting this set up and then the computer I was going to use for it stopped working so hopefully this works out but so we get some motion going so you can see if there's any difference in the 60p 60 frames per second uh maybe not the Brio has been getting kind of blurry the settings are a nightmare like the whole point of this project was to get all the webcams set up on one computer and do some comparisons in a proper Studio setup because one of the complaints I get on some of my videos when they're deliberately in more practical situations even though I do have Studio Lighting in my office is that oh they perform better in proper lighting so you're just crapping on these webcams for no reason but really most streamers aren't going to have proper lighting like you can't game under all this light and heat and the webcams don't cooperate anyway like the settings get kind of finicky they can still look pretty good like I think the webcams are looking pretty damn good right now you can let me know what you think in the comments down below but it's so hard to play with the settings and keep them consistent like as soon as I closed the settings menu with with my last video the 4K Brio webcam and this kind of setup the webcam just went blue and it said to manual white balance set the setting change the slider so that it looked more natural and then as soon as I closed the setting window it just went to Blue I was blue da d da die I don't know so it's not you know you don't get full control I wish we had full control over these webcams uh like with um like you would a real camera like I wish I could control the aperture shutter speed and stuff like that to fine-tune it like I I wish webcam would or webcam Logitech would give me this option for the webcams they do not uh so this is kind of what we're stuck with but and lastly let's have a microphone comparison this is the Logitech Brio 4K webcam microphone this is a test test test one 2 three and I'm actually going to pull up here uh a notepad program so that I can do a quick Ty typing test these are Cherry MX Blues with some O-rings but keep in mind I'm in a very sound dampened environment Logitech uh Brio all right this is the Logitech C920 webcam microphone this is a test test test one two 3 test test one two 3 and this is the c922 webcam this is a test test test 1 2 3 test test one two 3 all right not really sure what else to test if you want any other tests that don't involve this specific setup cuz I'm not sure I'll ever do go through this again let me know in the comments down below otherwise smash a like button if you enjoyed don't forget to subscribe for more awesome Tech videos come check out my other webcam coverage
