Streacom's PASSIVELY COOLED Micro-ATX Case & Cutest Mini-ITX Test Bench Ever!

My Coverage of Computex 2017 is Brought to You by MSI EVGA Torro gskill and Cooler Master

As I continued my coverage of Computex 2017, I found myself running into Linus a lot on this trip. He actually took me up to see Strom with him where he had an appointment. This led to me discovering a couple unique new products that I wanted to share with you guys.

The first product I came across was the db6, a completely passively cooled computer. It's a mini-ITX chassis and has support to cool a 125 watt CPU at 12.5 W GPU. Strom teams up with Calos, and Calos actually manufactures the full loop heat pipe which is what allows this to be passively cooled. The heat pipe travels in and makes contact with the GPU block and the CPU block and then goes out into the side panels of the case. These side panels are basically massive aluminum heat sinks.

As I stood over the db6, it was quite warm because it's passively cooled. However, it's radiating heat out the sides so you're not going to want to sit right next to it. On the other hand, being passively cooled it pretty much makes zero noise. The db6 has a tempered glass front panel and a tempered glass top panel that lets you get a look down in the case itself. Strom mentioned that they're working on potentially a version of this that can just cool the CPU and then one that adds the GPU support as well.

If the db6 is going to be the CPU cooled version, they're probably going to have a price point around $350. However, keep in mind that this is really early on, so that could change. You'd also need to add about $150 more to do add the GPU cooling solution too. The GPU they have in there right now is a GTX 1060.

If you're looking at all this and thinking "wow, that's pretty expensive," well, you're right for what you get. However, it is completely passively cool, and that's not easy to do. There is a pretty passionate subgroup of PC enthusiasts who love everything to be passively cooled, so hopefully if any of you guys are watching, you're enjoying checking out the db6.

Street Cal also had on display basically the cutest little test bench that you ever did see. This is the bc1 mini bench, which is Mini ITX and if you guys are thinking "who needs a mini ITX open air test bench," I don't know but I kind of want one now just because it's so tiny and so cute.

The bc1 mini bench is going to retail for about $120. It's going to come in silver, red, and black options. Just like its Big Brother, all of the hardware mounts to the board itself, and then can fold flat. It has a little carrying handle for easy transportation. That's all for this video; I know it was a quick one but I wanted to give you a quick look at these unique little products from SPROM.

Of course, a big thank you to all of my sponsor for Computex 2017: EVGA, MSI, Torro gskill, and Cooler Master. We'll see you guys in the next video.
